We didn't think we would do another Kickstarter mega-pod for a good long while. However, we've gotten so many delivered kickstarters that we had to bring the band back together! (we know, we have some acquisition disorder issues...) So, we are happy to welcome back Liz from Beyond Solitaire and Jeremy from Jambalaya Plays Games. First up, Jeremy shares about Ninth World: A Skill Building Game in Numenara (5:25), a deckbuilder-esque cooperative game with a RPG feel. Then Liz tells us about the new 4x-style release from our friend Carla Kopp, Stellar Leap (13:30). Jason then brings us away from the short games and talks about two big, honking adventure games which could not be more different - the Euro-style mechanism heavy dungeon crawling game, Perdition's Mouth: Abyssal Rift (20:17), as well as the urban, story driven adventure game, The Shared Dream (36:47), Finally, the whole gang weighs in about a deckbuilder set in a Roman Colosseum setting, Carthage (48:54).

This week presents a new title with the same talking format. ChitChat is now going to be Meeples Included Podcast. Maggi and Jason are working on some new art and switching everything over to the new branding. BUT! While they are working on that, they did manage to find a few minutes to get together and talk about their latest geek culture interests and games they have been playing, which also includes a impromptu (Who are they kidding, the whole podcast is impromptu), Kickstarter segment. Sit back, relax, and fill your lovely earholes with some nonesensical gabbing, ranging from purses to movies to board games, and all the randomness they come to deliver in this hour plus long episode! Wait no more listeners, because a new episode for Creator Spotlight is here! This time, board games are making a full swing, as the Rocket Punch crew get to sit and chat with Carla and Nick Kopp, the creators for the popular up-and-coming board game company, Weird Giraffe Games! Carla and Nick swing by to discuss how they found a passion for creating board games and starting Weird Giraffe Games while on a road trip, the intricacies of their board game design process (which could be useful for any game designer), their experience getting more and more familiar with the Kickstarter platform, and the work that goes into iterating again and again on a project to make something one can be proud of. Even from the start, when they were told that "making board games is so easy to do", they both knew that it would be nothing but, and they still continue to stay up late figuring out their next big idea for a breakout board game. Come listen to how they got their start, hear TONS of details about their latest project, Stellar Leap (and learn where you can support it on Kickstarter), where they want to head to in the future with Weird Giraffe Games, and more!
This week on the Rocket Punch Cast, the crew is joined by Chris Scott of Credible Threat Gaming, as they discuss the controversy surrounding the latest stream from PewDiePie, and ask whether gamers and the industry as a whole, is becoming too desensitized to that type of behavior, and what everyone can do to combat it. Plus, the crew brings up Weird Giraffe Games launching their new board-game Stellar Leap on Kickstarter, their upcoming Community Event with the AHGD group: Building Your Community, Nintendo’s recent fortunes, and more!
