Welcome to Identify and Conquer your go-to Mental Health Fitness Podcast. We could all use a little work on our brains - specifically our emotional and psychological health. We're going to discuss our mental health - in terms of mental stability, strength, flexibility, creativity, and mindset shifts. This will be different than the traditional podcast. Together we will identify the things that keep us stuck – what fears, insecurities, negative emotions, and limiting beliefs are holding us back. How our own brain taunts us and can be our own worst enemy. We will explore weakening the saboteur region of the brain and strengthening the section of the brain where our sage resides. We'll discuss neuroscience, mental illness, and how to reframe our thoughts to help avoid anxiety, depression, and general unhappiness. This podcast is going to be multifaceted and interactive – if you want to play in those spaces with me, or you can just sit back and listen. I am not just going to talk AT you – I am going to provide worksheets and handouts and we are going to do the work together. By working together and working consistently will create the change we need to conquer negative mindsets. We are going to get to the bottom of what is stopping us from living our best life. We will explore the negative things we do and say to ourselves to sabotage our success and happiness. This is all about doing the work to make lasting change and getting unstuck once and for all. This is about having a mental health fitness plan. We have all participated in team-building events or retreats and leave ready to change the world - then two days later we're over it and back to our old lives. This is because nothing is continuing to feed that excitement or give us tools to keep us motivated and successfully implement lasting change…. This is that place. Life is happening right now, are you paying attention, or are you missing it? Join our online community at https://www.changingmybrain.com

In this episode, I discuss the difference between boundaries and walls, why people build walls instead of boundaries, and how to convert a wall to a boundary. Boundaries keep us safe and protected by keeping us open and flexible depending on who we are interacting with. Walls are up for everyone and keep the hurt we are trying to protect ourselves from locked in with us. Support the show (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/mentalfitness)

How can being positive be toxic? It's toxic when we use it to deny what we are really feeling and don't allow ourselves to feel or experience difficult or negative emotions and situations. This episode discusses what that looks like in yourself and in others. It discusses how to handle situations better so they don't creep up on us later. And, how to handle the people in our lives who come to us when they are hurting so we can help them heal. Support the show (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/mentalfitness)
In this episode, I discuss how we are not meant to live with regret. In this episode, I discuss the misconception that overthinking is problem-solving or critical thinking. It is not. Overthinking keeps your brain in loops of overanalyzing, stress, anxiety, and depression. It is not productive, but there are ways to break the cycle and stop living in a state of your brain, and the thoughts in your brain controlling your life.Support the show (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/mentalfitness)

This episode is about when we choose to freeze, both literally and figuratively. When there is a threat or perceived threat to our survival and we react by freezing. This episode discussed how being yourself helps you find the people who are meant to be in your life while helping you find where you really belong in this life. Accepting the fact that not everyone will like you and that you don't belong everywhere makes life easier. Not everyone will like you. And that's a good thing. So stop trying. This episode is about wanting to get to my goals by finding shortcuts. It wasn't until I realized that being down rabbit holes was as important as my destination. Examine how battling and defeating the Threshold Guardians in our lives can be a fun way to look at the challenges we face - to help us see that we are in control and we do not need to let obstacles control our fate. Shifting our mindset when roadblocks keep us stuck can help us gain the confidence to not let anything stop us from living our best life. Seeing ourselves as the hero in our own life can help us fight harder for the things we want. Celebrating our accomplishments, both big and small is essential but often overlooked. It is equally important to assess and evaluate our plan when the Threshold Guardians stop us. Do you see yourself as a hero? Do you recognize a Threshold Guardian when you see it?
