#193: Ever felt crazy for speaking up—then wondered if you were actually being managed? We go straight at the blurry line between emotional immaturity and manipulation, mapping the real signals that separate missing skills from a need for control. With honesty and a lot of lived experience, we unpack how anxiety, attachment styles, and poor regulation can fuel reactions that hurt, and how tactics like gaslighting, love bombing, and guilt hooks keep you doubting yourself. We share language that works under pressure—the “I feel/When you/What I need” framework—and explain why timing and tone matter when emotions run hot. You'll hear how to read the response: curiosity and accountability signal emotional immaturity with room to grow; while, denial, deflection, and inconsistent follow-through point to manipulation. We also challenge the myth that love is enough, explore the double standards of “situationship” control without commitment, and walk through when to set firmer boundaries, document patterns, or make the hard choice to leave. If you're ready to protect your peace, start taking notes on behavior, and rebuild trust in your own perception, this conversation gives you a grounded roadmap. You'll learn how to anchor in your values, separate affection from access, and become harder to move with shame or urgency. Next Level Soul with Alex Ferrari: A Spirituality & Personal Growth Podcast
Alex Ferrari and Aaron Abke discuss the origins of Christian theology, emphasizing that many core Christian beliefs, such as Original Sin and the concept of Jesus as God, trace back to Paul rather than Jesus. They argue that Jesus's teachings focused on repentance and love, contrasting with the later Greek and Hellenistic influences that distorted his message. Aaron highlights the Essenes' influence on Jesus's teachings, noting their unique practices like baptism for the remission of sins. They also discuss the historical evidence of Jesus's travels to Egypt, India, and Tibet, as documented in the Nicholas Notovich text, and the misrepresentation of Jesus's appearance and teachings by later Christian traditions.Alex Ferrari and Aaron Abke discuss the role of ego in human experience, arguing that ego is not inherently negative but essential for motivation and protection. Aaron's book, "The Sufferer's Guide to Freedom," posits that the ego must be integrated rather than eliminated, as it is an activity, not an entity. They explore the three core beliefs of ego: lack, attachment, and control, and how these manifest in negative emotions like sadness, anger, and fear. Aaron emphasizes the importance of understanding emotions as reflections of the mind and using them to reveal and address underlying beliefs. They also touch on the concept of nostalgia and the need for humanity to transcend fear to achieve self-realization.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/next-level-soul-podcast-with-alex-ferrari--4858435/support.

Southside Tribe! We are back and Season 8 is in full effect! In this timely episode, KB and Ameen dive deep into the unfortunately recurring theme of manipulation, deceit and abuse within social structures, particularly churches and Christian organizations. Starting with the Garden of Eden, they discuss how humankind's first interaction with manipulation was with the serpent. From there, they discuss a revealing study on highly competent, good-natured individuals stuck in abusive relationships due to their own virtues. The conversation extends to how manipulation and deceit appear in leadership roles, the vulnerability of well-intentioned people, and practical advice on when and how to run from toxic environments. They call for honesty, accountability, and the importance of good community, emphasizing the calling of God's people to never be complicit in abuse.

In this week's episode of The Mindfully Masculine Podcast, Charles and Dan dive into Steven Bartlett's most-viewed Diary of a CEO interview — his conversation with Robert Greene, author of The 48 Laws of Power. What starts as a look at Greene's ideas on seduction, confidence, and power turns into a bigger exploration of what really drives human behavior. Charles and Dan unpack the tension between authenticity and performance, confidence and insecurity, attraction and manipulation. They discuss the fine line between influence and deceit — and why the word seduction can mean either self-mastery or self-deception, depending on the intent behind it.The conversation also moves beyond power dynamics into addiction, codependence, and vulnerability — including how chasing validation can become its own form of addiction, and why genuine confidence has to be built, not performed.Topics include:Why “seduction” can feel manipulative — and how Greene tries to reframe itThe difference between cultivating attraction and playing gamesPower as self-control vs. control over othersThe role of confidence, competence, and comfort in your own skinMasks, roles, and authenticity in modern lifeHow addiction and codependence mirror our search for controlWhat real strength looks like in relationships and leadershipIf you've ever wondered where healthy confidence ends and manipulation begins, this episode offers a nuanced take on the psychology of power, presence, and connection.Listen, follow, and share The Mindfully Masculine Podcast wherever you get your podcasts, and visit mindfullymasculine.com for more.Support the show

Ghislaine Maxwell has long been described as a master manipulator, someone who used her social status, charm, and connections to gain the trust of young women and to insulate Jeffrey Epstein from suspicion. As the daughter of publishing tycoon Robert Maxwell, she was raised in wealth and influence, which she later leveraged to move seamlessly within elite circles. Prosecutors and survivors alike have painted her as the key facilitator of Epstein's trafficking network—someone who recruited, groomed, and normalized abusive behavior under the guise of mentorship, opportunity, and sophistication. Maxwell's ability to present herself as a glamorous, worldly figure made her effective at disarming victims and convincing them they were entering an exclusive world, when in reality, they were being exploited.Beyond grooming victims, Maxwell's manipulation extended into how she managed Epstein's social and professional relationships. She acted as his gatekeeper, connecting him with politicians, business leaders, and royalty, all while projecting the image of a respectable partner and hostess. Survivors testified that her approval carried enormous weight, as she blurred the line between legitimacy and exploitation, often making abuse seem like part of a privileged lifestyle. Even after her arrest, Maxwell tried to portray herself as a scapegoat, shifting blame and framing her actions as those of a loyal companion rather than an active participant. This pattern reinforced her reputation as someone who was not only complicit but uniquely skilled at controlling perceptions and bending reality to protect herself and Epstein.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

Personal coaching, deliverance, e-courses, training for ministry, and mentorships! https://www.kathydegrawministries.org/training/# The spirit of Jezebel is one of the most destructive and controlling spirits believers face today. It masquerades as friendship, help, or even spiritual alignment, but its goal is to control, manipulate, and pull you off course. Maybe you've had friendships that started as an answer to prayer but ended in rejection, offense, or betrayal. These are classic Jezebel tactics, designed to keep you bound in emotional cycles and distracted from your God-given purpose. In this message, Kathy DeGraw exposes the Jezebel spirit, its characteristics, and the ways it infiltrates relationships, ministries, and even workplaces. You'll learn how Jezebel operates, how to shut the door on its influence, and how to walk in the freedom Christ has given you. Jezebel is not just a person—it's a principality. That means we must recognize the spirit behind the person, love people, but refuse to tolerate demonic control. If you've ever wondered why Jezebel always seems to follow you, this teaching will empower you to identify it, reject it, and rise up in spiritual authority. Freedom is possible. Deliverance is yours. And you don't have to live under Jezebel's control another day. #jezebelspirit #deliverance #spiritualwarfare #healing #kathydegraw **Connect with Us** - Website: https://www.kathydegrawministries.org/ - Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/kathydegraw/ - Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/kathydegraw/ Podcast - Subscribe to our YouTube channel and listen to Kathy's Podcast called Prophetic Spiritual Warfare, or on Spotify at https://open.spotify.com/show/3mYPPkP28xqcTzdeoucJZu or Apple podcasts at https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/prophetic-spiritual-warfare/id1474710499 **Recommended Resources:** - Receive a free prayer pdf on Warfare Prayer Declarations at https://kathydegrawministries.org/declarations-download - Kathy's training, mentoring and e-courses on Spiritual Warfare, Deliverance and the Prophetic: https://training.kathydegrawministries.org/ - Healed At Last ~ Overcome Sickness and Receive your Physical Healing: https://www.kathydegrawministries.org/healed-at-last/ - Mind Battles – Root Out Mental Triggers to Release Peace!: https://www.kathydegrawministries.org/product/mind-battles-pre-order-available-january-2023/ -Kathy has several books available on Amazon or kathydegrawministries.org **Support Kathy DeGraw Ministries:** - Give a one-time love offering or consider partnering with us for $15, $35, $75 or any amount! In this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Avik Chakraborty sits down with Patrick van der Burght, persuasion expert and founding member of the Cialdini Institute, to explore the science of ethical influence. From workplace negotiations to everyday decision-making, persuasion plays a vital role in our lives—but it doesn't have to rely on manipulation. Patrick shares practical insights on the 7 universal principles of persuasion, how to spot when influence crosses into unethical territory, and why understanding human decision-making is crucial in today's distraction-filled world. This conversation offers listeners a clear framework to use persuasion responsibly while reducing stress, building stronger relationships, and creating long-term success. About the Guest : Patrick van der Burght is an international keynote speaker, trainer, and persuasion strategist. As a business partner of Dr. Robert Cialdini—the world-renowned author of Influence—Patrick has been teaching ethical persuasion since 2000. He is the author of How to Hear YES More Often and leads workshops and programs worldwide that help professionals communicate with integrity, avoid manipulative tactics, and leverage science-backed persuasion for lasting impact. Key Takeaways: Persuasion can be used ethically or unethically—science shows unethical tactics deliver only short-term wins but damage trust long-term. The three ethical filter questions: Are you telling the truth? Is the information naturally there (not exaggerated)? Is the request wise for both sides? Seven principles of persuasion—Reciprocity, Liking, Unity, Social Proof, Authority, Consistency, and Scarcity—work across all cultures and contexts. Scarcity is the most misused principle online; knowing how it works protects us from manipulation. Decision-making is mostly subconscious: 95% of decisions are made by System 1 (shortcuts), not System 2 (logic). This makes persuasion science more relevant than ever. Ethical persuasion creates stronger relationships, lowers stress, and builds trust in business and personal life. Products and ideas don't always “speak for themselves.” Without effective communication, uncertainty leads people to decide not to decide. For over a decade, residents of a quiet Swiss village reported encounters with a figure in a gas mask and military cloak lurking in their forests—until 2013, when someone finally captured proof on camera. Days after the photo went viral, investigators found only an abandoned coat and a cryptic suicide note in the woods, leaving more questions than answers about who Le Loyon really was.Join the DARKNESS SYNDICATE for the ad-free version: https://weirddarkness.com/syndicateTake the WEIRD DARKNESS LISTENER SURVEY and help mold the future of the podcast: https://weirddarkness.com/surveyIN THIS EPISODE: Nellie Meunch was accused of kidnapping. Her ingenious scheme to beat the charges? To kidnap again. (Kidnapping, Babies, and Blackmail) *** Before we knew it as tuberculosis, most knew it as consumption – and it was almost always fatal, with those who had it seemingly being consumed by the disease, which is probably how it got its name. So it should be no surprise that homes where the disease took up residence were devastated, and whether or not they are haunted by the paranormal, they are certainly haunted by the dark memories and energies of those who were consumed there. Including one particular home a doctor in 1915 will describe for us. (Consumption Cottage) *** Norfolk's Horning Village is not your typical residential area of living – the village slips back and forth in time every five years. And one family knows that's true, because they were stuck in one of the time slips. (Timeslip Village) *** When fans of the paranormal hear the name ‘Rendlesham', the first thing that springs to mind is an incident that happened over three nights around Christmas 1980, when it was said that several spaceships visited the nearby airbase. What they don't think of is Ariel the mermaid, or Daryl Hannah from the movie “Splash”. But maybe they should. (The Mermaid of Rendlesham) *** Isabella of France is a fantastically interesting historic figure, even more so because of how little-known she is. You'd think a queen who was known as a she-wolf would be something you might have read about in history class. (Isabella: She-Wolf of England) *** But first, the figure, who is known as 'Le Loyon' has been called Switzerland's answer to the Loch Ness Monster, wears a military uniform and a thick cloak, with a gas mask covering his or her face. Who or what is he? We begin with that story.
