Special Guest Cameron Hawkins joined us to run through the plot of Pokémon 3 the Movie: Spell of the Unown: Entei and the animated short that preceded it.

After discussing all the news of the last week in Pokémon, Dustin and Jeff assign each other Pokémon types for them to come up with their dream team to be Gym Leaders for each of those types! And then as always we rank another Pokémon on our master rankings!

Jeff "Grizz" Ullrich and Dustin Cunningham sit down with Brian "B-Mac" McMeans, one of the owners of Space Cadets Gaming, a gaming hobby store, to discuss the Pokémon TCG resurgence in the context of retail and how this new boom in popularity compares to previous spikes for the franchise.

Continuing our series of Pokémon Movie reviews, this week Dustin, Jeff, and special guest Ethan Brannon, do a deep dive on the second animated Pokémon movie, Pokémon: The Movie 2000, aka The Power of One. There are some Pokémon that are tied to the very nature of that universe that from a moral perspective it is reckless, irresponsible, or outright evil to catch them. However, as the pokédex repeatedly points out, a lot of Pokémon are really freaking dangerous to be left to their own devices. So its actually more morally good to catch these Pokémon so that they can't lay waste to entire civilizations! And that's what Jeff and Dustin chose to talk about this week!

Its been two years since the release of Detective Pikachu, and Dustin, Jeff, and special guest, Jackson Wells from Cantina Conversations, have taken this opportunity to do an in depth discussion and review of the first ever live action Pokémon movie!

After all these years the long awaited Pokémon Snap sequel has finally arrived! Dustin and Jeff have put in about 8 hours each into this new game, and share all their thoughts on Illumina Pokémon, the controls, the puzzles and all the crazy aspects of New Pokémon Snap. Is it all we hoped for?

While counting down the days to the release of New Pokémon Snap, a question popped into Jeff and Dustin's minds. If you were to recast the Lord of the Rings with Pokémon, which Pokémon would be in which role? So of course that had to be the topic of the show.

The mainline Pokémon games are great, no doubt, and there have been some pretty cool spin off games in the past. But is the best new spin off yet to be thought up? With the help of sixoneindie.com's Harry Loizides, Dustin and Jeff pitch several ideas for Pokémon spin off games that could be the next big thing!

Kicking off our Pokémon movie review series, we start with the first movie, Pokémon the First Movie - Mewtwo Strikes Back! But that wasn't enough we also reviewed Pikachu's Vacation with a critical eye, that is does not deserve! And who could be better to have on as a guest than the wonderful Jessica Sanchez?!

Mega Evolutions were really cool, we all know this, but for some reason the Pokémon Company stopped adding new ones, and we think its time they come back! So to help them come up with new ideas, we took the liberty of suggesting 10 Pokémon that DESERVE Mega Evolutions. They've earned it!

Dustin Cunningham and Jeff "Grizz" Ullrich are tired of waiting for the next big idea from Pokémon so they have made up their own! In this episode they discuss some recent Pokémon news and then in the main topic discuss what environment, region, type of Pokémon, mechanics and features they would put in to their ideal Pokémon game.

Have you ever thought "Why doesn't Pokémon come up with some new ideas for gyms instead of just using single types all the time?" Well we have had that thought too, so for a fun topic with our super creative guest host Fiona MacKinnon (From Point in Progress Podcast and Zuraniix on Twitch) we thought we should make up some new gyms and gym leaders that have themes that aren't restricted by typing! I'd totally play a Pokémon game with these kinda gyms in it! We also talk about some of our guest's favorite Pokémon memories and all that good stuff!

The Pokémon TCG is back in a big way and Dustin and special guest John Fick from The Geekiverse are all in on collecting again, and Jeff is testing the water to see if he wants to jump in. We talk about our history with the TCG, the new wave of fandom, and then we even open some packs (which admittedly is not going to be the best audio segment), but then we rank a Pokémon to finish out the episode!

On this week's episode of Pod-ket Monsters, Dustin and Jeff discuss the limited Pokémon news and then rank all of the electric type gym leaders from the entire Pokémon game series! These rankings are based on their team composition, their character design, and how cool their actual gym is. Jeff and Dustin see just how wrong their predictions for the Pokémon Day announcements were and then discuss all the crazy new Pokémon games that were revealed earlier this week, before finishing up with our thoughts on Post Malone's Pokémon Day Virtual Concert.

Pokémon Day 2021 is on February 27th and the Pokémon Company has promised several announcements will be made throughout the week leading up to Post Malone's virtual concert on Pokémon Day. So Dustin, Jeff and Six One Indie's Mike Towndrow decided to have a little contest to see who could best predict what announcements we will get this Pokémon Day.

This week on Pod-ket Monsters, Jeff "Grizz" Ullrich and Dustin Cunningham give you a breakdown of the Pokémon news of the week and then have a discussion about the latest season of the Pokémon anime, Pokémon Journeys, in preparation for the conclusion in Part 4 on Netflix in early March!
