Even if you didn't die in any of the other "dooms", (comet impact, zombies, nukes, etc.) you will still not escape Gray Doom. Everyone gets older. Can on older person, who is not capable of running a mile with a fifty-pound backpack or hand-to-hand fighting, still be a prepper? Mic, Brian and Jeff discuss what prepping for being old or how prepping as an older person might be different. It was the 911 call heard around the world. Through countless media releases, we all listened as a man in Utah tearfully described the wounds on the young boy who had shown up at his door asking to be taken to the police… a young boy who, we soon learned, had been horrifically abused by his own mother and her business partner. For many of us, this was our introduction to the shocking and sad story of Ruby Franke, the subject of this 3-part series. In this Part 1 we discuss Ruby's progression from devout Mormon wife and mother of six, to ‘America's Mom,' a beloved YouTube family vlogger with more than 2.5 million followers. But what concerns did some of Ruby's family members have about her parenting even before she became a YouTube star? How did Ruby's faith inspire her to become a content creator? What changes occurred in the Franke children's lives after they became ‘employees' for 8 Passengers, Ruby's channel? And what happened when the kids started to rebel against the constant filming… son Chad, in particular? Don't miss the first episode in this 3-part series. Ruby Franke's friend called Jodi Hildebrandt a guru… Ruby's daughter Shari called her “our family's very own cult leader.” In Part 2, we continue our 3-part series on the Ruby Franke case, sharing what happened after Ruby and Kevin sought help for their son Chad's behavior. How did it impact the family when therapist and life coach Jodi Hildebrandt entered their lives? What incident caused most of Ruby's 2.5 million YouTube followers to turn against her? How did Jodi come to move into the Franke home? Why was daughter Shari disowned? And what circumstances led Kevin and Chad to both be “invited” to move out on the same day? We discuss all this and more. Find (and subscribe to!) the show on your favorite podcast app or the Scandal Water Podcast Youtube channel. Many preppers confess that they feel like they are the only ones in their family, or social group who prep. Making matters worse, some preppers are afraid to let anyone know that they prep, for fear of either being ostracized or worse, becoming a target of the (theorized) starving hordes. Mic, Brian, and Jeff discuss the problem and some options. Link discussed in this episode: Meetup.com -- is not specifically a prepper site, but there may be prepper meetups, or prepper-adjacent events in your area. Ready Your Future Exclusive Email Group -- is an email group of preppers around the US and some overseas. $20/year (to discourage trolls) and access to the bi-weekly Zoom meetups. Membership is open only periodically. Get on the wait-list if membership is closed when you get there. In an effort to stop the men who plan to hike into New Hampshire and blow up a railroad bridge, Susan, Paul, and Charon visit Doug. This, so Charon can send a coded message back to his handlers in the Coalition. They reply told of an operative at a farm near Bellows Falls. Now, the three have to concoct a plausible reason for them to be traveling all the way up there (10 hours by horse and wagon). There will be several checkpoints. It's a BMac Monday on Bleav in Vikings as Bryant McKinnie rejoins the show to talk about the keys to developing and playing with a young quarterback. BMac also explains what he'll be looking for early in the season as positive signs of J.J. McCarthy's development in Minnesota.
Susan sneaks out of Boyd's Farm in the dark of night. She meets Charon in the woods outside of the little Deerfield airport. They make their way to the plane without being detected. Charon plants his explosive under the wing, but people start coming from the house. He has to cut the fuse very short and run for cover. The plane explodes just as the people arrive. They put out the subsequent fires quickly. There was no detonation of the Feds' explosive cargo. It was not aboard the plane yet. The airport boss tells the pilot and two helpers that they will have to carry the explosive package in on foot and blow up a bridge themselves. BE the person people ask, "And then what happens?" It sounds like the Steelers have ‘no interest' in Aaron Rodgers along with a few other QB options for 2025. Gerry Dulac also said the team won't draft one either because they ‘aren't in position' to take one. The guys discussed if that's an indictment on the Steelers way of doing business in general.
