Three years ago, she sold most of her stuff and took her family on a full-time adventure around the world. In two years, she visited more than 40 countries with her husband and two young children, working with dozens of brands in the travel and hospitality industry. She now calls Florida home, and is always ready for the next big adventure! Key Takeaways They bought a home that ended up being exhausting.  It felt like “we were always saving for the next repair.”  They were spending so much time and money on things that weren't important to their family. One of the items they wanted to prioritize was travel. When single, young and had all the energy in the world she liked fast travel. But with 2 young kids, fast travel was exhausting.   The transition from vacation mindset to lifestyle mindset is a learning curve.  After 9 months the settled into a routine of having 2 down days and work days built.  You can only travel as long as your budget allows.  They planned to travel for 6 months, thanks to Instagram following they were given discounted free stays reducing their expenses. Then expanded to tours and eventually at the end of their 2 years of full-time travel had secured substantial paid contracts.   “If you are going to travel full-time you have to learn to take everything as it comes.  The reality of travel is there are beautiful moments and there are really hard moments.”  “Yes kids might not remember the travels, but seeing how they adapt, the funny questions they ask along the way, and how it becomes so normal to them is really a beautiful experience” (9:09) Cruises are great taste test of where you want to go, but don't allow you to go deep.  Transitioning home she is reminded of how much more exhausting it is to travel from a home base than to travel full-time.  When you are traveling full-time you aren't thinking about what to pack because everything you own is with you.  It costs a lot to travel and own a home.  I think people see full-time travel families as families who are really wealthy, or have some secret to life.  The reality is you are substituting living expenses instead of paying car ownership expenses you are paying for a flight, instead of rent or mortgage you pay for lodging. Being at home it feels like we have our own independent lives, we spent much more time together while traveling. After a year of travel, anytime they were at a location 1 month or longer they would enroll in local schools or activities where they would have daily exposure to other kids.   Families interested in exploring full time travel might want to explore Instagram. Many families are passionate about the lifestyle and want to make it accessible. I sat down with NY attorney Jessica Sanchez who shares why she became an attorney, how she commandeered a path as one of the only females in a male-dominated NYC law firm to ultimately leave and start her own firm. She did that as a newly divorced single mother and pounded the pavement to generate a clientele that would sustain a one-woman practice. She shares her management philosophies ("manage clients, not staff"), how she learned to command higher prices and establish firm standards for collecting fees. Jessica has mastered balancing her personal + professional life on her own terms and making her business give her the life she desires. The first remix I ever produced with DJ Leanh from Brazil was "Stronger Together" by Jessica Sanchez. And those two words, "stronger together," is how I would so fittingly describe the relationship with my extremely talented co-producer. Until that remix, I honestly had been struggling with how my remixes were sounding. There were elements of the mix that I couldn't quite figure out, and was growing tired of creating what I thought was sub-par work. When you a music producer, you are expected to be a "band in a box," if you will. You have to not only have to know how to run the music production software, and have a basic understanding of music, but you have to also be a "drummer," a "bass player," a "keyboard player," and so forth. Essentially, when you remix a song, all we are given are the vocal parts - and the rest is up to us. Drum patterns, percussion elements, bass rhythms, chords, melodic hooks, and so forth, are all for the producers to come up with. Of course, if you know what you're doing, it's an incredibly satisfying thing to produce a piece of music, and have it go out into the world, and affect people in a positive way. But it's an incredibly daunting task when there are areas where you know you lack in. Having formed a connection with Leanh after playing at his club in Brazil, I reached out to him asking if he would help me on a remix I was currently working on that needed to be finished in a week. It was "Stronger Together." I sent him the work I had done so far, and within a few days, our first co-production was born. Since then, a musical relationship has been formed that's made me fall in love with music all over again. I am so incredibly proud of the remixes that Leanh & I have produced over the last 2 years. It's been even more rewarding to see the response to these remixes on the dance floors across the words, especially with "This Is Me." We produce music from the heart, and hope that it's received in a positive way. So, thank you so much for accepting this music we made into your lives! May it lift you up, shake you down, and make you feel alive the way it does us!
