In this episode I spoke with authors Kathy Fuller and Frank Thompson regarding their book "The First Movie Studio in Texas: Gaston Melies's Star Film Ranch".  In 1910, the Méliès Star Film Company of Manhattan set up a moving-picture studio outside San Antonio, the first in Texas. Determined to make the most authentic Westerns possible, the company filmed there for a little over a year. In that brief time, it created more than seventy single-reel films, leaving a lasting mark on moviemaking.

The future is looking very bright and from the outside looking in, it may look as though he enjoys instant success at every turn, but as we all know nothing happens like that. On the podcast Brendan chats about these successes, but more importantly he takes us through all the other stepping stone projects that came before these where he learned his craft, from the first school projects, music videos and commercial work. In any career you can't cheat the learning curve, but you need to seize the opportunities along the way when you can gain all of that lvaluable earning.
