We are kicking off 2026 with a giant episode! Joining me are friends of the show Chris Coplien from the Retro Hangover Podcast and Mick Arcade from Nerd's Cant to help me rank game console controllers. The inspiration for this episode came from Bitmap Books, who was kind enough to send all of us a review copy of their recently released book Trigger Happy. Trigger Happy is a visual compendium of game controllers so we figured what better way to celebrate videogame controllers than to do a big ranking episode. We ranked 19 controllers from the NES up to the PS4/XB One/Switch. If the episode already wasn't about 3 hours long we may have considered ranking more. Anyway. Which controller is the highest ranked? Who has the hottest controller take? Listen to the episode and then share your thoughts on our rankings or share your own with us on our socials! Check out Trigger Happy from Bitmap Books! https://www.bitmapbooks.com/products/trigger-happy-a-visual-celebration-of-video-game-controllers Follow Mick on social media! As the 2025 NFL regular season reaches its final weekend, Missing the Point breaks down Week 18 of the NFL season, the finalized playoff picture, and the quarterbacks who defined the year. Hosted by Dave Clarke and Bob Kelly, this episode delivers a full NFL playoff preview along with in-depth 2025 NFL quarterback power rankings based on what actually happened on the field. This is not a preseason projection episode. This is about who earned it. Dave and Bob analyze the top teams heading into the postseason, including the New England Patriots, Chicago Bears, Buffalo Bills, Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens, and Philadelphia Eagles. They break down matchups, seeding implications, and which teams look built to survive January football. A major focus of the episode is the 2025 NFL quarterback power rankings, where Dave and Bob rank quarterbacks based on full-season performance, not reputation. They evaluate efficiency, consistency, decision-making, durability, supporting cast impact, and how much each quarterback elevated his team. Quarterbacks discussed include Drake Maye of the Patriots, Caleb Williams of the Bears, Josh Allen of the Bills, Lamar Jackson of the Ravens, Brock Purdy of the 49ers, Matthew Stafford of the Rams, Jalen Hurts of the Eagles, Bo Nix of the Broncos, Trevor Lawrence of the Jaguars, and Patrick Mahomes of the Chiefs. Dave explains why some quarterbacks who entered the season with MVP expectations failed to meet the moment, while others quietly established themselves as legitimate franchise leaders. Bob adds context around coaching stability, offensive scheme, and how late-season performance often tells the real story heading into the playoffs. The episode also previews Wild Card Weekend, discussing which teams are dangerous lower seeds, which favorites feel vulnerable, and which quarterbacks are under the most pressure once the postseason begins. The conversation highlights how Week 18 results, recent trends, and injury context shape expectations far more than early-season narratives. Key topics covered in this episode include: NFL Week 18 playoff seeding scenarios 2025 NFL playoff preview and Wild Card matchups Full NFL quarterback power rankings Patriots and Bears postseason expectations Which quarterbacks can win playoff games Teams built for January football Late-season trends that matter in the playoffs If you’re searching for NFL Week 18 analysis, 2025 NFL playoff preview, NFL quarterback rankings, Patriots playoff breakdown, Bears postseason outlook, or who the best quarterbacks in the NFL were this season, this episode delivers detailed, opinion-driven analysis without hot takes or manufactured controversy. Hello Adventurers! Wait, is that how it goes for this? Does it even matter? Who knows! So this episode, theoretically a "bonus" episode, is actually a product of two years worth of work. In 2024, over the course of two different panels at MomoCon and KamiCon HAI (RIP), we had panels where we attempted to rank all the mainline Final Fantasies (plus two bonus games). As we had different people on each panel, we of course had two different rankings! What was a podcast to do? Well, all six of us got together to record One Final (Fantasy) Podcast to determine the final ranking. This is that episode! PS You may notice that we have not indicated if this is an OSMcast! or a Carbuncle Chronicle episode. That's because it's both! Almost all of the OSMcast! side, and all of The Carbuncle Chronicle side are in this, AND it covers Final Fantasy XIV to boot, so it made sense to just call it an episode for both. OSMnotesWhoo boy! This was a real pain to edit! But Basil also got real extra with the audio and music for the episode this time, so we hope you enjoy the half a year he took at poking and prodding this thing into Listenable Audio™. Anyroad, have some Time Cues:We start the OSMcast!ing – 00:00General Gabbing (Introductions and explaining The Process) – 02:04The Great Final Fantasy Ranking!Part I: Where we talk about all the Final FantasiesFinal Fantasy I - 04:44Final Fantasy II - 10:36Final Fantasy III - 17:06Final Fantasy IV - 21:45Final Fantasy V - 32:13Final Fantasy VI - 35:37Final Fantasy VII - 41:41Final Fantasy VIII - 49:56Final Fantasy IX - 53:49Final Fantasy X - 58:24Bonus Game: Final Fantasy Tactics - 01:05:00Final Fantasy XI - 01:09:05Final Fantasy XII - 01:11:48Bonus Game: Lost Odyssey - 01:15:58Final Fantasy XIII - 01:21:18Final Fantasy XIV - 01:27:30Final Fantasy XV - 01:34:24Final Fantasy XVI - 1:38:10Part II: Where we actually rank said Final FantasiesThe Battle Begins - 01:41:39The Battle Ends - 02:03:09Oh! Both for OSMcast proper and The Carbuncle Chronicle! Please subscribe, hit the bell, and share amongst your friends. And as always, feel free to leave us a review on Apple Podcasts! Oh, and if you still use Spotify, go ahead and get on that mobile device and throw us some five stars there too. Tell your friends! As well, just like we mentioned when we do the OSMplugs, you can also join the Discord and support us on Patreon! PS If you have ever wanted some OSMmerch, feel free to check out our TeePublic page! We took a week off for the holidays but actually Hunter, Shelton, and Chris Felton (Who you will remember from the Space Ghost episode) met up to record a way too long sendup of one of the greatest filmmakers of all time. Rosh Chodesh (the new moon) is a time marker for honest self-examination and goal setting. Each new cycle is a chance to look back without self-condemnation, learn from what happened, and plan specific changes going forward. Life is framed as a transformational process with a clear target: becoming like Yeshua, measured in seven interconnected areas—spiritual, financial, physical health, relationships, mental health, emotional health, and community. Rabbi Berkson insists that you can't ignore the “other six” and claim to focus only on the spiritual, because problems in health, money, emotions, or relationships will distract from spiritual growth and spill over into each other. The practical advice is to rank these seven areas from 1 (worst) to 7 (best), then prioritize working on the area that is “bleeding” the most. That means studying why you struggle there, defining what “fixed” looks like, seeking out resources and experts, and being willing to work consistently, including retaking the “Level Up” class as a launchpad rather than a one-time fix.A key theme is mindset: become an expert in your problems, seek workarounds when limitations can't be removed, and adopt Yeshua's perspective of enduring current discomfort for future gain. Rabbi Berkson also emphasizes the importance of participating in community life—attending events, being friendly rather than passively waiting for others, and building genuine relationships. Ultimately, adult maturity in Messiah is defined as fully owning where you are and taking responsibility for where you go next across all seven areas of life.• Marking the movement of time• The journey of transformation • Time to “Level Up” in the seven areas of your life• Once is not enough • Become an expert on your struggles• I just want to focus on the spiritual• The seven areas of life are cross-effective • Ranking the seven areas for improvement • Thriving within / Find a workaround• There are proper levels for all emotions • Developing and growing into a community/family• The Level Up program will answer these questions Subscribe to take advantage of new content every week.To learn more about MTOI, visit our website, https://mtoi.org.https://www.facebook.com/mtoiworldwide https://www.instagram.com/mtoi_worldwidehttps://www.tiktok.com/@mtoi_worldwide You can contact MTOI by emailing us at admin@mtoi.org or calling 423-250-3020. Shotgun Spratling and Chris Trevino return behind the microphones for another episode of the Helium Boys Podcast, a serious non-serious USC football podcast. The Helium Boys are back to preview the Trojans' bowl game matchup against TCU in San Antonio and look at a wide array of college football, and USC-specific, topics after USC and Notre Dame mutually announced the discontinuation of their rivalry and high-profile Big Ten programs hired big-time coaches. The episode opens with the Helium Boys staple 'Two-Minute Drill' that features Shotgun railing on both Notre Dame and USC for not being able to come to a resolution that would have resulted in the continuation of their 100-year old rivalry that has previously taken a global war or global pandemic to keep it from being played. The podcasters then dive into the bevy of comments left on Spotify, answering questions and then ultimately having the randomizer select a winner for a Trader Joes gift card. They then jump into a number of news items since the last Helium Boys episode, including the possibility of USC having to look for a new defensive coordinator soon. They also look at the continuously evolving 2026 roster, discussing the latest transfer portal losses, NFL departures, re-signings announced by USC and the last group of players that have not had their future endeavors revealed After a break, the podcasters dive into a preview of the Alamo Bowl matchup against the Christian Horned Frogs of Texas, including the key storylines, players and matchups before predicting why the Trojans will win and why they will lose. The podcast duo also answer your mailbag questions discussing trench play, Biletnikoff statistics and the most memorable moments of the 2025 season. After some 'Take It or Leave It' questions for Shotgun, the episode concludes with Chris and Shotgun ranking the Pop Tarts that were participants in the People's National Championship that is also known at the Pop Tarts Bowl. We finally arrive at the crescendo of our inaugural Australian Top 50 Golf Course rankings. After pulling up stumps during the late night recording of the previous episode, we resume the count at number 11 and work steadily to number 1. Scott's recording on the road on summer holidays, hot spotting the laptop from his phone, and the audio is somehow better than Matt's (who hosted). The Top 10 is sure to contain a few points for spirited discussion, particularly among members of the Clubs who have a course in the upper echelon. We talk in depth about each of the top 11 courses - what we like, why it ranked so highly, and what potentially holds it back from achieving a higher ranking, with respect to peer courses. Visit our website (www.australiangolfpassport.com) for more on the rankings, and a catalogue of all the courses from 1 to 25 in numerical order, followed by the 26-35 bracket, and the 36-50 bracket. Thank you again to all our Top 50 Australian course ranking panellists who devoted their time, effort and expertise into making the rankings what they are. We look forward to getting listener thoughts on what they feel is right and wrong. Huge thanks again to Assoc Prof Davis McCarthy who guided us through the whole statistical process. We couldn't have done it without him. We plan on chatting with Davis at some stage in '26 during an episode looking at rankings and listener questions. THE EXECUTION MISTAKE Colleague Josiah Osgood. Cicero ordered the execution of five high-ranking Romancitizens allied with Catiline without a trial, believing them to be traitors who forfeited citizenship. This decision, made despite Julius Caesar's suggestion of life imprisonment, became a major political error. Cicero's gloating and refusal to grant due process alienated the public and powerful figures, turning him into a target for the populist movement and threatening his future career. NUMBER 4 1889 CICERO, CATILINE
