Lured Up Podcast 360 Live Streamed on - 8/26/25 Publish Date - 8/29/25 The Max Finale has come and gone and shockingly, the Community is split over how they feel about the event! OK, maybe not so shockingly, but the event did have some ups and downs. This caused emotions to flare online, even though Trainers on the ground seemed to be having the times of their lives. We knew with the lead in of Dark Skies that we had to come up with a game plan to maximize our gameplay. Do we spend the MP on the DMAX throughout the week, or do we hold back for the GMAX over the weekend. The GO Pass created a solid free to play foundation for Trainers to have agency over how they wanted to play, with the Finale itself feeling like a 16 hour long MAX Battle event. It only took about 1 or 2 Eternatus Max Battles for Trainers to figure out how they wanted their day to go, with the bulk of Trainers we interacted with, putting a low to zero priority on battling Eternatus. That being said the other GMAX stole the show as spawns without a shiny boost felt a bit lackluster, even with the incredibly high spawn density. This was an Eternatus focused event, but oddly enough, for many Trainers, the Eternatus chase was over once they hit level 60 on their GO Pass. Only a small amount of Trainers were in for the long Eternatus haul, meaning not only an investment of money but also of time. Doing enough Battles to max out Eternatus could cost $200 or more. This caused the online community to sharpen their pitchforks, as the combo of FOMO and sunk cost fallacy collided. Trainers on the ground seemed to have a blast, with Campfire meetups driving the train. Trainers had an incredible time and put in some serious distance while trekking throughout the event. It almost seemed like some were simply looking for an egg to throw, but to each their own right? The Max Finale was only part of the news this week, as Season 20, Tales of Transformation was announced, along with a level rebalancing that will bring the max level all the way up to 80! The roller coaster of emotions and feelings is doing loops and we are here to make sense of it all. A partir daí, a indústria explodiu. Tonight, Joe's out—so the cryptid chaos begins. Charles takes the captain's chair with Phil Keating and Bob McGough, and the result is equal parts comedy, fandom, and questionable uncle energy. From debating which fictional character you'd trust to babysit your kids (Mary Poppins? Kratos? Lisa Simpson? Definitely not Jared from Subway) to wandering into stories about abandoned luggage, Pokémon nannies, and cosplay so niche only three people will ever get it, this episode doesn't walk the line—it stumbles over it with a beer in hand.Bob dives deep into his love for cryptids (Mothman supremacy forever), Phil nerds out on Nintendo and Final Fantasy while accidentally admitting anime is growing on him, and Charles celebrates a proud dad moment with a side of Demon Slayer hype. Along the way, the trio tackles failure, imposter syndrome, and the power of showing up—even if only three people do.Of course, no “drunk uncle” night would be complete without dad jokes, hot dog confessions, and wild Dragon Con plans. This isn't your average nerd talk—it's family, fandom, and foolishness rolled into one chaotic ride.Highlights you'll hear:The great “fictional babysitter” debate (spoiler: Bulbasaur has vines for a reason)Cryptid confessions and why Mothman wins every timeTrying new things, failing gloriously, and finding joy anywayNintendo loyalty vs. PlayStation bullyingHot dogs, Gizzy Stations, and other unholy obsessionsGrab a drink, roll some dice, and join the madness—because tonight, the dads are nerdy, the uncles are drunk, and nothing is sacred.
Jess Fenton dives into the deeper energetics of visibility—and why it's not about algorithms, strategies, or selling more, but about showing what you love.Jess unpacks:✨ Why visibility isn't just about being seen—it's about density in your hologram.✨ How sharing your obsessions (no matter how “ordinary”) makes you magnetic.✨ The link between transparency, intimacy, and trust.✨ Why celebrities like David Beckham, Gordon Ramsay, and Madonna remain so enduringly visible.✨ The surprising power of showing your “boring” everyday life—and why it creates real connection.Through stories of triathlons, gardening, Pokémon cards, and even bed-making competitions, Jess reveals the secret to becoming unforgettable: your genuine enthusiasm.Visibility is magnetism born from love. The more you share what lights you up—whether extraordinary or ordinary—the more density you bring into your hologram, creating intimacy, trust, and magnetic connection.

Summer movie blockbuster season may be winding down, but we still have movies on the brain around these parts. So much, in fact, that we wanted to talk about movie tie-in games. And who better to help us with that than special guest Steve Guntli from the excellent CinemArcade podcast? We are all familiar with the games that are generally regarded as the best movie tie-in games. So Steve is here to offer up some of his favorite movie games that you may not have heard of, in what we're calling the top 5 next best movie games. After that, we talk about Sword of the Sea, the recent PlayStation 5 price increases, Kirby Air Riders, Pokémon, and all the big news from Gamescom. Question of the Week: What previously unadapted movie needs its own game? Vidjagame Apocalypse theme by Matthew Joseph Payne.
Lured Up Podcast 359 Live Streamed on - 8/19/25 Publish Date - 8/22/25 Delightful Days: Taken Over Pokémon GO Worlds Event Dark Skies and the Max Finale G47IX Dark Skies Infographic G47IX Max Finale Infographic GMAX Battle Update Sunkissed Shores The Max Finale is finally here and we can finally push through it so we can all rest, right? There is still no end in sight to the onslaught of events, even with the Max Finale at our doorstep. With next Season coming before you know it, and a new Pokémon release with its Shiny available on day one coming the day immediately following the Max Finale! This drum is getting as worn down as our endurance, with no end in sight. Delightful Days: Taken Over and the Pokémon GO Worlds Event kept us very busy last week, with the welcomed and missed Giovanni loop. Shadow Kyogre Raid Weekend was a popular event, and luckily everything seemed to work properly. We would be lying if we didn't hear a harsh lack of faith from the Community, with some feeling surprised there wasn't an issue. Definitely not a good position for Niantic/Scopely wants to be in heading to the Max Finale. Dark Skies will do it best to dry up your inventory of consumables prior to the Max Finale. We don't want, however, to look past how much gameplay is available as F2P. We highly recommend having a plan and strategy to go after what you want, while working within the F2P bubble (to start) before worrying about how expensive the event “could” be. With a non-stop barrage of DMAX and ultimately GMAX Pokémon to face, be sure to manage your MP rewards from the GO Pass and work timing to your advantage. Study the schedule and figure out when you want to attack and when you want to recover.100 person GMAX lobbies should make it a bit easier for in-person Communities to take things down, while also allowing remote Trainers to not constantly be hit with a full lobby when trying to get in. We touch on Sunkissed Shores and the release of Shiny Dondozo, before inappropriately speculating on the future of the game. We talk about what we would like to see from the game and if this non-stop event pace is actually sustainable. What will be the first to fold? Our excitement, energy, or wallets? Okay, technically there's still a month left before the official end of summer, but who doesn't get a bit wistful towards the end of August? It's probably a hangover from those school summer holidays, even though the Indieventure trio – along with most of our listeners – left those days behind longer ago than we'd like to admit. Still, taking the sting off significantly is the fact that Summer 2025 has already been an excellent season for indie games. So good, in fact, that it was quite the struggle to narrow our collective list down to just seven titles we want to talk your ear off about today. Expect more updates in the coming episodes as we consider our regrets over the ones we cut for time, but in the meantime we hope you enjoy our enthused round-up of what we've been playing recently, including BUSTAFELLOWS season2, Jump the Track, Look Outside, Squeakross: Home Squeak Home, Sword of the Sea, and Tiny Bookshop. Plus – for only the second time ever – your intrepid Indieventurers actually managed to coordinate our schedules outside of recording to play a co-op indie game together! We'd love to do this more often, but alas, adult life is a harsh mistress. But, on the other hand, it's bloody PEAK! Yeah, of course we had to play PEAK. When the time rolls around for hyperfixations, Rachel immediately figures out that she can cheat and sneak another excellent summer indie in from her list by talking about Cipher Zero. Rebecca, unsurprisingly, has heard the siren call of Tears of Themis – something everyone predicted she'd love because it's literally an Ace Attorney-inspired otome game made by HoYoverse – which she's found compelling if (spoiler alert) a little less lovable than she'd always expected. And slightly more surprisingly, Liam has also fallen for the allures of a gacha game… but it's Pokémon TCG Pocket, which is allowed. Our music was written and performed by Ollie Newbury! Find him on Instagram at @newbsmusic. Meanwhile, you can find us at indieventurepodcast.co.uk or wherever you listen to podcasts. Don't forget that you can now join our dedicated Discord too, and be sure to check out our new Steam Curator page if you simply still can't get enough of us!
Ever wondered what happens when a major gaming company accidentally uses plagiarized artwork? The Game Junction Podcast dives into the fascinating story of Pokémon TCG Pocket's art controversy, where players suddenly found themselves pulling rare cards with nothing but "new art coming soon" placeholders. This peculiar situation creates an unexpected twist for collectors who might someday value these glitched cards as unique treasures.Nintendo continues its tradition of unexpected innovation with a mysterious crank controller patent that has everyone speculating about its potential applications. Is it for fishing games? An emergency power generator? Something entirely unexpected? This development comes alongside their new "My Mario" product line targeting toddlers with claymation shows and wooden block Amiibo sets that showcase Nintendo's multigenerational approach to building their brand universe. The hosts also explore the upcoming ROG Xbox Ally X handheld, Battlefield 6's massive server queue issues, Take-Two's carefully worded statements about GTA VI's pricing (amid its staggering $1-2 billion development budget), and a slate of promising indie games coming to Switch. Whether you're a casual player or hardcore enthusiast, this episode offers valuable insights into where gaming is heading and which upcoming releases deserve your attention. What gaming news caught your interest this week?
