This week, Chris and Jamal get into one of the biggest philosophical questions Wayfarer has faced since the transition to Scopely Explore: should gameplay finally have a seat at the table? They debate whether legitimate location edits that improve the gameboard should still be considered abuse, discuss if Scopely should be more transparent about S2 cells and inclusion rules, and imagine what Wayfarer would look like if it were built from scratch by a gaming company instead of a mapping company. Before diving into the topics, Chris responds to a lively Reddit discussion surrounding last week's episode and clarifies his thoughts on Wayfarer, player data, and Niantic's original mission. Chris responds to last week's Reddit debate and clears up the context behind his comments. A major Wayfarer update now lets you finish draft submissions from anywhere without returning to the nomination location. Should gameplay optimization still be considered abuse if the final pin location remains accurate? If Scopely built Wayfarer from scratch today, what rules would stay, what would change, and what would disappear? One's Gotta Go: Pizza Toppings Edition (Pepperoni, Sausage, Bacon, or Mushrooms?) Wayspots of the Week feature a stunning dog park mural and a beautifully designed boardwalk entrance. Coal of the Week highlights why Little Free Libraries on K–12 school property should never be nominated. A thought-provoking discussion about the future of Wayfarer under Scopely, Chris' Reddit rebuttal, another community debate sparked by One's Gotta Go, and a pair of fantastic community-submitted Wayspots that showcase exactly what makes exploring so much fun. O tvojom preklade. ( J 3,16) „Pokánie čiňte a verte v evanjelium,“ hovorí Ježiš. Cyklista do Vrútok nikdy nedorazil. Samotné vedomosti nás nedovedú do cieľa. Curt Westman
The MacBroz are taking it back to the '90s with a little Pokémon talk—because who didn't grow up trying to catch 'em all? Then Josh and Darius break down their latest United States Concealed Carry League match results. They discuss what went well, where they struggled, what they learned, and the areas they need to improve before the next competition. Darius shares an update on his new M&P featuring Dime Bag porting from Monsoon Tactical and a special custom Cerakote finish. Josh also gives the latest on his Staccato CS project, including porting from Pew Pew CNC and a new optic from Gideon Optics. The guys also get into the practical value of competition shooting. This week on Wise_N_Nerdy, Joe's out, so I called in one of my favorite people to cause absolute chaos: Josh Cooper from Uploads of Fun and my co-host on The Little Brown Pill. We somehow go from debating the worst fictional roommate ever to reliving embarrassing stories, Dragon Con, burgers, mushrooms, and enough coffee talk to make a barista question their life choices. If you've ever wondered what happens when two friends are given microphones and zero adult supervision... this is it. Then things really go off the rails. We answer the age-old question of how to become a full-fledged coffee snob, roast everything from Starbucks to mushroom coffee, argue over fast food burgers, tell stories that probably should've stayed private, and somehow end up discussing ThunderCats, Fight Club, Pokémon cards, and whether Pig-Pen would be the roommate from hell. It's the kind of conversation that only makes sense while you're listening—and somehow gets funnier the deeper it goes. If you like nerd culture, dad humor, caffeine-fueled debates, and two guys chasing every rabbit trail they can find without ever losing the fun, this episode is for you. Grab your favorite mug, hit play, and come hang out with us. Just don't blame us if you suddenly find yourself shopping for a pour-over kit by the end of the episode. Lured Up Podcast 402 Live Streamed on - 7/29/2026 Publish Date - 7/31/2026 We talked last week about the dust settling after the back to back flurry of the 10th Anniversary Event in NYC and GO Fest: Global. Trainers had a long week leading into the event and an even longer weekend of non-stop Raids. We have absolutely seen a shift lately from a focus on catching and grinding at events to Raiding. With the feeling of success from Raids being at the mercy of RNG, the return doesn't always line up with the investment. This can really lead to fatigue, which is our main topic of the episode. Every year after GO Fest, there is typically a window of events that seem like they drag. Each event seems to be trying to recapture the magic of GO Fest, but can't actually pull it off. Blend this with the crazy pacing and relentless schedule of events, Trainers are feeling a bit drained physically, mentally, and financially. It is hard to be motivated to play when faced with this type of exhaustion, so when the Mega Finale was announced as a two day event, Trainers were gasping for air. We take a look at what we would want from an event calendar, and how just a weekend off can make all the difference. This leads to a conversation about expectations, accountability, and finding joy in the things we do. That convo leads to our guiding principal of, “Just because you can, doesn't mean you should”. Ken shares how over the last few years his decisions were dictated by circumstance. Saying no to things was done out of necessity, not out of desire. As things changed over time and life stabilized, his ability to say yes to things returned, however it became an issue. Saying yes to everything put undue stress on his health and finances, with a side order of guilt if he said no. Navigating one's ability to say no to things as a choice, is an example of empowerment. We examine that empowerment and discuss the parallels between decision making on and off screen. Send us Fan MailOn this brand new episode of the Johnny's World Podcast I am joined by my longtime friend Carl Craig. Carl is the owner of two restaurants in Brookhaven, MS called Magnolia Blues BBQ Company and Serio's Pizzeria. His recent endeavor is a baseball card shop in Brookhaven called The Bullpen Collectibles. Opened in April of 2026, The Bullpen Collectibles is your go to card shop for baseball cards and Pokémon cards. We talk about how collecting cards is a generational hobby and we both agree that it's good to see kids these days picking up the hobby. At the end of the show we name our favorite baseball players from each MLB team and go through a list that I found of my favorite baseball players from probably 35 to 40 years ago. It was so much fun hearing some of those names. It was a blast from the past! You keep up with what's happening at The Bullpen Collectibles on social media from their facebook and instagram pages. Wondering how to raise a reader?Worried about graphic novels, reluctant readers, or kids who just won't sit still long enough to finish a chapter?Trying to figure out whether screen time is killing your child's love of books — or whether your son who only reads Diary of a Wimpy Kid even counts as a reader? In this episode Stephanie reframes the whole conversation.Because the question most parents are asking, "how do I get my kid to read", is actually the wrong question. The better question is: how do you raise someone who thinks of themselves as a reader?Starting with the moment she discovered her daughter Katie used to cover her reading lamp with her hand when she heard footsteps in the hallway so nobody would know she was still awake reading past her bedtime. She wasn't sneaking her phone. She was sneaking her book. This episode covers: Are graphic novels real reading? (Yes. Here's why.)What to do with boys who won't sit still long enough to read. The book list Stephanie's son Nick put together from memory. Every book he remembers loving, organized by age and reading level. What a Yoto player is and why it matters for pre-readers.How to read alongside your kids instead of just telling them to read. Why the no-screens-in-bedrooms rule quietly built a reading culture in Stephanie's house over twenty years.Plus the line that changes how you think about all of it:Families don't raise readers. Families create homes where reading is normal.Nick's full book list — graphic novels, funny books, adventure series, non-fiction and more:NICK'S BOOK LIST FOR YOUNG BOYSBOOKS WITH PICTURES OR EASIER BOOKS TO START WITH• Amulet• Bone• Geronimo Stilton• Lunch Lady by Jarrett J. Sometimes the sweetest creations begin with the memories that shaped us as kids.In this episode of As The Pokéball Turns, David Hernandez sits down with Professor Rosemary, a Pokémon-inspired baker and food scientist whose kitchen has become a laboratory for transforming beloved Pokémon into unforgettable desserts. From discovering Pokémon Sapphire on a shared Game Boy with their brother to finally catching the elusive Feebas and realizing a childhood dream of raising a Milotic, Professor Rosemary reflects on how Pokémon has grown alongside him. Professor Rosemary shares why Hoenn still feels like home, his love for Ice-type Pokémon, how studying food science changed the way he sees every ingredient, and why combining baking with Pokémon during the pandemic became the creative spark that launched his content journey. More than cakes and sweets, this conversation explores nostalgia, curiosity, creativity, and the joy of bringing childhood passions to life in unexpected ways.Whether you love Pokémon, baking, or discovering the stories behind passionate creators, this episode is a reminder that the things we loved as children can still inspire who we become.Listen now and follow As The Pokéball Turns for more Pokémon stories celebrating the Trainers, artists, and creators who keep the Pokémon community thriving.SourcesOpening Song: "Forget You" by Alex_MakeMusic from Pixabay Send us Fan MailSupport the showVisit our website: www.asthepokeballturns.comJoin Our Discord Community!https://discord.gg/AqAbD7FbRtMailing AddressP.O Box 117Addison, TX, 75001Your next Pokemon adventure begins here!Disclaimer: This podcast is in no way affiliated with or endorsed by The Pokémon Company International.

Article linkNathan and Cameron explore the growing debate over the decline of literacy, asking whether society is truly reading less—or simply reading differently. Drawing on recent discussions about education, digital media, attention spans, and Christian discipleship, they examine how technology, social media, and changing cultural habits have reshaped the way people interpret, process, and engage with information. From Charles Dickens, Dante, and Neil Postman to Pokémon, emojis, and digital literacy, the conversation challenges common assumptions about what it means to be literate in the modern world. They also discuss the importance of deep reading, focused attention, the shared cultural "commons," and why cultivating thoughtful engagement with Scripture, books, and ideas remains essential for Christian living. Whether you're interested in literacy, education, theology, reading habits, digital culture, or the future of critical thinking, this episode offers a thoughtful and practical discussion on how Christians can flourish in an age of distraction.DONATE LINK: https://toltogether.com/donate BOOK A SPEAKER: https://toltogether.com/book-a-speakerJOIN TOL CONNECT: https://toltogether.com/tol-connect TOL Connect is an online forum where TOL listeners can continue the conversation begun on the podcast.
