A commemorative kickoff exploring why Miss Congeniality endures. We revisit Gracie Hart's fearless wit with Sandra Bullock, alongside Michael Caine's memorable training turn, Benjamin Bratt's impeccable chemistry with Bullock and more fun supporting turns from Ernie Hudson, Candice Bergen, William Shatner, Heather Burns, Melissa De Sousa, Steve Monroe, Deirdre Quinn, and Wendy Raquel Robinson that allows each performer to shape the humor, heart, and energy of the film's broader universe. Joining in for this discussion is Mark J. Parker of the Release Date Rewind podcast to help us revisit why Miss Congeniality continues to bring joy to fans as one of Bullock's signature comedies.Links for Guests: Release Date Rewind PodcastWhere To Watch Miss Congeniality

"So today's lesson is, you kill each other off till there's only one left. Nothing's against the rules."25 years ago, Kinji Fukasaku brought the infamous novel BATTLE ROYALE to life, and essentially invented a new subgenre of dystopian teen cinema. In honor of the film's anniversary, The Wives Colangelo are exploring the incredibly bleak messaging the film has about generational division, government-sanctioned violence, and the disposability of youth. Don't worry, this week's episode will also get into the discourse surrounding the film's connection to THE HUNGER GAMES, and why Quentin Tarantino doesn't know what he's talking about.--------Become a Patron! https://www.patreon.com/thisendsatprom--------MONTHLY SPOTLIGHTRainbow Railroad (https://www.rainbowrailroad.org)--------Social Media Plugs@ThisEndsAtProm@BJColangelo@HarmonyColangelo----------Logo Design: Haley Doodles @HaleyDoodleDoTheme Song: The Sonder Bombs 'Title': https://thesonderbombs.bandcamp.com/
