Children love stories. Very young children are connected to the world around them when we read to them. Here at storytelling with Ngozi, we write simple short stories that stir their imaginations, teach them helpful life lessons, increase their knowledge and help young children develop and strengthen their social, emotional, and behavioural skills. This podcast is designed for children ages 3-8years old. Please join us every Monday for a new episode of storytelling with Ngozi.

The Ugly Duckling is a story originally written by Hans Christian Andersen, a Danish author. This story has been adapted here, at storytelling with Ngozi to fit modern times. Dodo the main character thought she was the ugliest duckling in the world. That was not true as every other person saw her as beautiful. She was very hard on herself. Would not eat her food for fear of becoming too big. Eventually, she could not face the world around her and decided to run away from those who love her.She had a difficult time away from her family. And after suffering a cold and lonely winter, she soon realizes she was no ugly duckling but as beautiful as the birds she thought were prettier. It is a story every little boy should listen to. They must know they are part of our beautiful clusters of flowers that make our entire world awesome. This week, children are encouraged to look at themselves and write down what makes them awesome. If your child would love to read us a story here at storytelling with Ngozi please email us at storytelling@ngoziedema.comIf you love to have some extra episode and join our monthly half-hour storytelling live on youtube, please join our Patreon.Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/user?u=33417922)Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/user?u=33417922)
The first stories I heard as a child were from the Bible. And it is a great book that has been used for centuries to teach children morals. Many of them are still as relevant today as they were when they were first written. No wonder many still use these stories to teach their children.Esther was an orphan who was raised by her cousin Mordecai. The family lived in the ancient city of Shushan.Life back then was different from today. Listen to this story and see if you can spot differences or similarities to what we do today. Draw a picture of the Persian Queen.Send us drawing and painting and you will be entered for this month's giveaway.
