As we move into 2024, we're seeing more and more teachers' union representatives talking about comprehensive sex education and why they believe that parents should *not* have the final authority in the lives of their children as it relates to government education and what those kids are being taught. The agenda of the NEA permeates all of our government schools, even those in rural America, and we're going to look at it specifically. Today, I'm going to focus on education and why I think it should be the preeminent issue in the 2024 elections and in the hearts and minds of parents. I implore you, for the sake of our children, to hear my heart on this issue. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/heidistjohn/message

Todays guest is wisdom-keeper Phillip Moore, he returns for another sit down conversation with Julian. Check out Phil's newest training for Educating the Future of Children In a nutshell, Phil Moore leads with his heart. He puts this extraordinary heart capacity to work by playing the infinite game. A game where there are no losers and winning means oneing.(from me to we). Where you play with the rules rather than by them. An infinite game player plays to leave an invisible legacy in the hearts and minds of others. This kind of open heart—willing to give and receive, attracts allies and seeds possibilities. For his entire life as a teacher, husband, father, Granda, mentor, writer and leader, Phil has been an artist of possibilities. This artistry opens doors, forges bonds, spreads inspiration and astonishing learning happens for everyone in his orbit. Thanks to Phil, the lives of many have been changed from his loving humanity.Phil has always been driven by his love for children, for his love of the wild and for building and sustaining a learning community. From the age of 23 he was asked to embody and serve a community for more than four decades that grew from over fifty children, to nearly 100. Over half a century later, this learning community is alive, evolving, and serving one foundational goal: To Love Children into Being. This living legacy is shifting entire communities from the dominant paradigm to a new paradigm that is based on love and deep inter-relatedness.It's tricky to measure this legacy and impact, yet easy to share some of the tangible ways Phil has shared his heart across the world. A few to mention:- His book The Future Of Children grew out of over four decades of direct experience with children who have been educated in a school that was based on love. These children have grown up to be very different kinds of people. Their direct connection to the natural world has influenced them to feel a deep connection with life. - Loved thousands of children and their extended families in ways that helped us navigate challenging and difficult times. - Created loving bonds between teachers, parents, neighbors, and friends. - Built a campus, over 4 decades, that is currently serving close to 100 students and teachers based on doing more with less, using regenerative non-extracting technologies. - Influenced an unknown number of people who attended: workshops, retreats, concerts, tours, films, ceremonies, conferences, and events designed to uplift our spirits and inspire others to become infinite game players.Inspired love-based initiatives, and innovations in education communities across the globe. A native New Yorker, Yesenia started the development of Young Risers in May 2013. Working in NYC private schools for over eight years introduced her to the Reggio Approach. This fostered the idea of opening a school that catered this learning experience to families in her community. She holds a Masters of Science in Special Education from Concordia College and is professionally certified in Early Childhood Education from the NYS Department of Education.Program Mission:At Young Risers children's learning is best inspired through thoughtful play and exploration. We strive to provide a safe and nurturing environment based on guidance and facilitation of our children's interests. We implement curriculums and materials in the classroom that expand and contextualize these ideas by keeping our children engaged in activities that encourage inspirational approaches and conversations. We follow an emergent curriculum deriving from the Reggio Approach. The Reggio Approach is an inevitable contribution to the child as a whole. The child is categorized as a respectful citizen in the community. As per Loris Malaguzi, the child holds 100 languages of learning, thinking and playing. Young Risers educators implement the approach by allowing the children the opportunity to play with materials and explore them in their own way. As educators, we must embrace the uniqueness of each individual child and nourish their developmental growth as a whole and within the community. We look for a common thread or theme that sparks interest in a group of children and evoke provocative areas in the classroom. https://youngrisers.com/

K-12 education has been disrupted at an unprecedented scale this year. Few options facing parents are straightforward or reliable or without obvious drawbacks. Virtual, in-person, hybrid? Parents are stressed, some are trying online school, others have opted to homeschool, others are just praying as their children head off to be in large groups for hours and hours each day during a pandemic. In this uncertain climate, I sit down with my friend, Beth Young, to talk about why this is a perfect moment for parents to take a deep breath and reflect on what education is all about and what we hope for our kids in the long-run. We talk about how Beth's own life shaped her educational philosophy, how she approaches educating her own children, and why Charlotte Mason is a name everyone should know. Be encouraged, parents! The Lord is good, our children are incredible, and the world is full of beautiful things.
Mia The Mouse And The Sleeping Lion is a beautiful story. We learn kindness is never a waste. The Ugly Duckling is a story originally written by Hans Christian Andersen, a Danish author. This story has been adapted here, at storytelling with Ngozi to fit modern times. Dodo the main character thought she was the ugliest duckling in the world. That was not true as every other person saw her as beautiful. She was very hard on herself. Would not eat her food for fear of becoming too big. Eventually, she could not face the world around her and decided to run away from those who love her.She had a difficult time away from her family. And after suffering a cold and lonely winter, she soon realizes she was no ugly duckling but as beautiful as the birds she thought were prettier. It is a story every little boy should listen to. They must know they are part of our beautiful clusters of flowers that make our entire world awesome. This week, children are encouraged to look at themselves and write down what makes them awesome. If your child would love to read us a story here at storytelling with Ngozi please email us at storytelling@ngoziedema.comIf you love to have some extra episode and join our monthly half-hour storytelling live on youtube, please join our Patreon.Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/user?u=33417922)Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/user?u=33417922)
The first stories I heard as a child were from the Bible. And it is a great book that has been used for centuries to teach children morals. Many of them are still as relevant today as they were when they were first written. No wonder many still use these stories to teach their children.Esther was an orphan who was raised by her cousin Mordecai. The family lived in the ancient city of Shushan.Life back then was different from today. Listen to this story and see if you can spot differences or similarities to what we do today. Draw a picture of the Persian Queen.Send us drawing and painting and you will be entered for this month's giveaway. This episode is Mama's Daycare my very first children's storybook.Mama' Daycare is a cute story of a little girl who was worried about what would happen to her mum when she(the little girl) goes to school.Nene, the main character then, went on to figure out exciting activities for her mom. The story shows the imaginative mind of young children as they try to copy the way we look after them. Do you like vegetables? Many of my young friends do not like them.Freddy is a little boy like other children who made friends with some veggies. This is very unusual as those veggies may not be as cool as our favourite desserts. However, soon found out the veggies are cool friends too.Find out how he did that in this beautiful story of Freddy and the veggies. And if your child would like to read a story here at storytelling with Ngozi, email us at storytelling@ngoziedema.com.And do not forget to rate, subscribe, review and support this show at https://www.patreon.com/user?u=33417922Please join us here every Monday for more stories.Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/user?u=33417922)
A call to actions in children education - A call to actions in children education
Gender Bender Strategy: Gender Identity Abuse & Assault Against Children and The Education System Jason Mangum & Mark Anderson discuss gender identity abuse and assault taking place against children of all ages and the strategy to infiltrate the education system with a mandatory curriculum to teach and brainwash children with the ideology of gender neutrality and choice. The Gender Identity Movement is being funded and promoted by numerous organizations. There are schools that have already adopted their curriculum. Children as early as Pre-K are being taught this abusive and perverted curriculum in which they are being shown sexually explicit pictures and hardcore pornographic videos that even include bestiality. Hello everybody! Today’s is short and sweet. We are in the thick of the holiday season! Remember that this time of year isn’t about giving (or receiving) tangible gifts; it’s about giving and cultivating relationships with the people you love and care about the most. Think about it, what are some of your fondest memories during this time of year? Is it the biggest toy you received or the time you spent with your favorite people? No one’s asking you to be Ebenezer Scrooge- we can still give, but don’t use the “I can’t afford it” excuse to show you’re thinking of others. There are infinite ways to show your appreciation for the people in your life without spending googabs of coinage. We get it! Sending cards, cute snacks, a drink shows thought! Think about someone other than yourself. Ya’ll…this is indeed the season of giving and if you are truly about this money, ya’ll better be about this giving life. There are people who wish they had the life you currently have. Show your appreciation for your lifestyle by giving to a cause that helped shape you. Love pets? Children? Education? There are PLENTY of organizations to support. You say you don’t have the coins? No one’s asking you to start foundations and be on your #OprahStatus; however, if you’re really about this money, you need to incorporate practices of the wealthy. Wealthy people donate to causes! Five dollars goes a much longer way than $0. Your money, no matter the quantity, matters. Always remember that. Additionally, charitable donations help relieve tax burdens during tax time. For my higher earners, charitable donations help reduce how much you owe at the end of the year. In order to get this money, you have to give this money!
