For more than a decade, the Modern Law Library has been chatting with authors about their books. But there haven't been many opportunities to talk directly with our listeners, and we want that to change. We are so excited to announce that we are launching a monthly book club series, which will appear in your normal podcast feed.  This year, we are going to be diving into The Brethren: Inside the Supreme Court, by Bob Woodward and Scott Armstrong. This book made waves when it was released in 1979, giving readers an unprecedented look into the U.S. Supreme Court chambers. Covering the 1969 to 1975 terms, The Brethren exposed the internal debates over matters like the Pentagon Papers and Roe v. Wade.  Each month, we will be reading a section of the book and inviting on a guest to discuss the issues raised. Snyder, at the Schubert Theater in New Haven. It drew a big crowd of librarians and library lovers. The film documents the attack on school libraries launched by a billionaire and politician, with cookie-cutter campaigns that spread across Texas and into other states, such as New Jersey. Librarians are on the front lines fighting against these threats to our First Amendment rights and the foundations of our democracy. New showings are added to their website regularly, and you may be able to organize one yourself. It is streaming on PBS from Feb 9-May 9, 2026 [https://thelibrariansfilm.com/streaming/] As for Couch Biblio Adventures, we both watched FRANKENSTEIN, directed by Guillermo Del Toro. Chris also recommends Frankenstein: The Anatomy Lesson, a short documentary on the making of Del Toro's adaptation. And she watched FRANKENSTEIN: The Man Who Made a Monster, starring Boris Karloff, who originated the iconic flat-headed creature with neck electrodes. It is interesting to see which aspects of Shelley's story movie makers choose to focus on, what changes they make, and the new elements/characters they create. This book made waves when it was released in 1979, giving readers an unprecedented look into the U.S. Supreme Court chambers. This episode I am reading from Daniel Rekshan's book 'Galethog the Grey's Field Guide to Anomalous Geometry' "Greetings fellow travelers, I am Galethog the Grey and this is my field guide to you. Perhaps you are lost in a Terran Matrix, those hidden hive minds have many caves! Perhaps you are stuck in a screen memory, don't forget that they key is geometric and not numeric, as your Christopher Walken once said as his played Whitely Strieber who once imagined the Grey alien form. If you haven't guessed, I am a Grey, a Tall Grey to be exact. I'm the one who controls the short Greys as they poorly perform their covert medical procedures according to my telepathic suggestion. And I'm going to teach you enough geometry to finally decode the secret messages we've marked on the skin of around half all abductees..." This book presents the mantic art of divination using anomalous geometric body marks such as from alien abductions, past lives, fairy encounters, and other supernatural sources. Half of this book is a rational and scholarly inquiry, the other half is an irrational and imaginative inquiry (channeled text from Galethog the Tall Grey Extraterrestrial Alien). The research is based on Integral Theory, which recommends mixed-methods approaches to integrate objective and subjective perspectives. Anomalous geometry may be a potential source of SETI-style communications from ET/NHI civilizations. Just as many people find meaning in crop-circles, so too many meaning be found in the geometry of the strange body marks associated with alien abductions and other supernatural experiences. This book is a compliment to Missing Time Found, which presented the hypothesis that UFO missing time is like unremembered REM dreaming and that regression hypnosis is like shamanic dreamwork, arguing against the epistemology of recovered memory and for the epistemology of dreams. Galethog the Grey's Field Guide to Anomalous Geometry argues against the use of anomalous body marks alone as physical evidence for historic or physical events and argues for the use of body marks as oracles.
