A post-political podcast, mostly discussing politics (and not)
The exciting sequel to last week's episode. Introducing crank intellectual Brooks Adams and his epic work The Law of Civilization and Decay, we take our time machine to #ancientrome, #thecrusades, and anywhere else we feel like in European history. Building from part one's attempt to define what politics is, this one is about why (and how) it went away. Follow @birdfanzines on twitter, maybe send him some new memes for his collection.
We haven't abandoned you, and this time we have a whole new grift, our first multi-part series. The idea here is I present an idea to Mike as though its a thesis defence - the thesis being "not politics', and what that is. This episode is like the introductory chapter. We cover #arendt #hannaharendt, we cover #habermas, we cover the #publicsphere and the stupid old #enlightenment and #ancientgreece. Please say thank you to us for coming back on twitter at @birdfanzines and of course our super wordpress https://tinpolitics.wordpress.com/
It's syllabus season! We're making a radical political philosophy syllabus... and you can too. Have you ever heard of #marxism ??? See if you can piece together what we got going on from the following hashtags #utilitarianism #socialismorbarbarism #racialcontracttheory #panislamism #prisonreform #peasantrevolts #thefourthworldwarhasbegun And the fun part is, you can participate. Let us know YOUR picks. The professor is taking your comments on twitter, follow @birdfanzines. For the full reading list, check out our very neglected blog https://tinpolitics.wordpress.com/

Two guys shout at each other about #byungchulhan and his book #psychopolitics. Also of note #bigdata #foucault #panopticon #surveillance #modernity #monet #novels #edwardsnowden and that thing when your phone listens to you and then tries to sell you things that you recently talked about
Okay this was supposed to be a quick chat about how most times you hear a #conspiracytheory about the #deepstate, it is just plain old #geopolitics in action. It wound up going pretty long and very often off topic. Expect to hear about: #kissinger #alexjones #sirhalfordmackinder #heartlandtheory #worldisland #gamalabdelnasser #marxism #operationgladio #operationcondor #defenceindustry #gulfmonarchies #atlanticism #dugin #brzezinsky #marshallplan #brettonwoods #potlach visit us here https://tinpolitics.podbean.com/
By popular demand, the extremely on-time #gamestop episode. But more accurately, we're here to talk about #CapitalistRealism, Mark Fisher's book about the impossibility of imagining any alternative to gambling your stimulus check on reddit with your friends.
Only one day late, we celebrate #inaugurationday2021 and, like everyone else in the world, rant about the #insurrection that kind of almost happened on #CapitolHill on #January6th. Topics include Cambridge Analytica, Palantir, and Blackwater. Also, we agree that #AdamCurtis and his movie #Hypernormalization is true and good. We're back folks
That's right, its a book report of PANdemIC! by Slavoj Zizek. Rethinking #communism from #socialisolation, pondering #classconsciousness, questioning the optimism of our favorite Slovenian dad. Follow @birdfanzines on #twitter
In this episode you will learn about #anime. Nerds, Japanese history, cartoons, post-modern literary criticism, and the definitive answer to the question of Star Wars (good or not). This is our response to a great work of nerd philosophy, Otaku: Japan's Database Animals by Hiroki Azuma. #otaku
This one is about a chapter from Jean-Paul Sarte's Critique of Dialectical Reason (Vol. 1) where he develops ideas about the radio. Radio is what they used to call podcasting, so we thought it would be deep to talk about it. Sarte was ugly and French, but in a sexy way.
Aaaand we're back. With a guest! John Torrey, Assistant Professor at Buffalo State is on the pod to talk us through his analysis of arguments against reparations. Some words, like rectificatory, are hard to say. We recommend checking out John's work and giving him a follow @mrphilosopher3 on twitter and instagram.
Neoreaction, or NRx, is a confusing topic with many implications on the current world of political ideology. It can not be understood without a deep familiarity with the mind of contemporary philosopher Nick Land, a detailed analysis of the concept Accelerationism, and a serious confrontation with the threat of Artificial Intelligence. Since these are concepts that we, two guys, have literally no expertise on, it's a pretty fun discussion.
In the inaugural episode, we pregame the Peterson/Zizek debate, mostly by reminiscing about good Zizek moments on youtube. We also talk about the Yang Gang and why UBI might actually be a dastardly trick, and how many pants a man should own.
