Communist movements have historically focused on gaining influence inside the institutions that shape society. From education to politics to culture, the battle over ideas often begins long before a movement gains power. The strategy is simple: reshape the systems that influence how people think, vote, and view the world. Jesse Kelly examines why communism remains a threat to the foundations of American life. Associate Professor of African American Studies at Wayne State University & author of Black Scare Red Scare: Theorizing Capitalist Racism in the United States, Charisse Burden-Stelly, returns to Bad Faith to discuss the new 100 page State Department report accusing American leftist groups of being part of a "sustained campaign of subversion" against the United States. This new Red-Scare blacklist names Code Pink, the DSA, Hasan Piker, Ben Cohen, Zohran Mamdani, and even Maxine Waters. What does this mean for left movements, & does the liberal response to these accusations, which is largely to distance "Communism" from Scandinavian-style social democracy, help or hurt the cause of the socialist left? We examine a series of Red-Scare articles, including a viral Atlantic Piece titled "The DSA Is a Parasite," along with clips from Jon Stewart, Abdul El-Sayed, & more. Communism is on the rise in a blue city near you! PLUS, Mike O'Neill, Vice President of Legal Affairs at Landmark Legal Foundation, talks to Shaun about the willful blindness of Democrats to voter fraud, the urgency in the need to pass the SAVE America Act and points out some drips of accountability to all of the financial fraud running rampant. On Tuesday's Mark Levin Show, communism is all about working people -- killing them, enslaving them, and brutalizing them. It's amazing how the Communists talk up "the working people." For communists, working people exist to serve the state and its centralized masterminds rather than as sovereign individuals. Only in free societies, especially America, are working people the heart and soul of society—the backbone of freedom. Communism is the most defective ideology ever imposed because it requires no knowledge or experience—only an iron fist and a destructive ideology that ignores human nature for an undefined “general good.” Meanwhile, Daniel Ortega, obviously a Communist, has announced no more elections in Nicaragua. If the Marxists-Islamists and, yes, the Democrat Party get their way, election results will be nothing but a foregone conclusion in their favor, a Potemkin exercise in phony democracy, as they destroy the electoral processes established in our Constitution and further alter our immigration and census systems, as well as usurp electoral procedures in the states. Also, this on-again, off-again conflict with Iran won't lead to victory. Success requires fully embracing available tools: first, arming, training, and supporting the Iranian people with air cover, satellite monitoring, and a determined CIA leadership; second, ignoring pressure from Arab countries while fully utilizing Israel's powerful air force, Mossad intelligence, and IDF.Later, the Democrats' new Senate candidate in Maine to replace Graham Platner Troy Jackson has his own issues yet faces little accountability. Separately, Michigan socialist Abdul El-Sayed is set for a campaign fundraiser co-hosted by Kelly Newman, who in 2024 honored her grandfather's military service for the Nazis. Finally, the media constantly demands evidence of non-citizens voting and claims none exists, yet Gov Mikie Sherrill announced thousands of non-citizens were found on the state's voting rolls due to a software glitch in the motor vehicle system. This exposes the larger issue that federal law requires states to purge voter rolls periodically, but blue states like New Jersey and California refuse, leaving dead people, movers, and illegal aliens on the rolls. Democrats and the media still insist elections are the cleanest in history while opposing voter ID and lying about existing requirements—proving they enable fraud rather than clean the system. In a world where the IMF has said the entire stock of whales are worth 1 trillion dollars and biological offsets equivocate one threatened environment for another, Christianity can help us think of life as worthless and beyond value altogether. We've got a new episode where we're talking about the valuation of life and how we can reframe the way we think about value altogether. To get there, we're chatting through a big philosophical idea about the valuation of life and ecology. Has communism ever worked? Conservatives say no. Democratic socialists point to countries like Sweden as proof that socialism has. To find the answer, we tell the story of one group that both sides of the argument fail to mention...a group that shows the answer is far more nuanced than either side often admits. On this episode of The Truth with Lisa Boothe, Lisa sits down with Daniel DiMartino to discuss the devastating aftermath of Venezuela’s deadly earthquakes and why he believes decades of socialist rule made the disaster far worse. Daniel shares firsthand accounts from Venezuelans on the ground, the failures of the government’s response, and how corruption and mismanagement contributed to a growing humanitarian crisis. Lisa and Daniel also examine the growing support for socialism in the United States, including the rise of politicians like Zohran Mamdani and other Democratic Socialists winning major primaries. They break down why younger Americans are increasingly skeptical of capitalism, the influence of education and culture, and whether America is ignoring the warning signs seen in countries like Venezuela. Plus, they discuss the realities of funding larger government programs, the difference between free markets and socialism, the risks of government control, and what Americans can learn from countries that lost their freedoms. America's top-selling economics textbook defines communism as "the most benevolent form of economic system." That single sentence sums up why Texas State Board of Education members Julie Pickren and Brandon Hall asked PJTN president Laurie Cardoza-Moore to testify as they fought a terror-linked campaign to reshape how children learn about Israel, Judaism, and American history. In this webinar, Laurie sits down with Pickren, Hall, and PJTN senior academic fellow Dr. Sandra Alfonsi to unpack what the board won, what's still ahead when high school standards return to a vote in September, and why what happens in Texas doesn't stay in Texas — it shapes curriculum for 25 other states and over 30 million schoolchildren. The conversation also turns to New York's new mayor, with Dr. Alfonsi making the case that "Commie Mamdani" undersells the real ideology at work. This is a conversation about truth in the classroom, the return of the Bible to instructional materials, and the biblical responsibility to make sure the next generation is taught to stand with Israel, not against it.Follow, share, and support PJTN's mission at PJTN.org.0:00 They Renamed Communism in Textbooks0:42 Meet PJTN and Laurie Cardoza-Moore3:20 Inside the Texas TEKS Standards Hearing7:47 Julie Pickren on Defeating CAIR's Amendments11:57 Why High School Standards Got Delayed17:59 Brandon Hall on Putting the Bible Back in Schools25:12 Communism 101: Who Controls Your Child30:20 Q&A: Banning CAIR From Testifying36:11 Free Bluebonnet Curriculum for Every State40:57 How the New Standards Will Be Enforced45:48 Rising Antisemitism and "Commie Mamdani"52:12 Dr. Alfonsi: Communism as a Vehicle for Islamism55:28 Erasing Jewish History From Textbooks1:07:01 Closing Thoughts and How to Get InvolvedDon't forget to subscribe, rate, and share to help us equip more Christians to stand with Israel and fight antisemitism.✨ Stay connected with PJTN! ✨
Mayor Zohran Mamdani's socialist/communist agenda isn't stopping in New York City. As Democrats embrace their new world order, billionaires flee, radicals grow louder, and even Bill Maher is sounding the alarm that the party is heading toward communism. The Democrats' biggest problem isn't Republicans; it's the microphone. From AOC's accent switch-up to James Talarico's awkward town hall and Don Lemon's 2028 dreams, the party's messaging is becoming its own worst enemy. Sunny Hostin of “The View” says “no one is above the law” — until her own family is in trouble. After her son was busted trespassing, her actions cemented her as a massive hypocrite when she tried to wield her privilege to get him out of trouble. Democrats talk nonstop about inclusion, but they were too transphobic to elect Maine Senate candidate Ashley Webb. We live in times of crisis. But perhaps none of the crises affect so many people in the here and now, as the housing crisis. Solving it could provide the skeleton key to unlocking so many of society's problems. Despite this, decades of successive governments in the UK have failed to bring housing under control. The social contract which told us that if we worked hard all our lives, we can own a home and be secure in retirement, has been completely broken. To discuss the crisis in Britain and beyond, Aaron Bastani sat down with Peter Apps. He is an award-winning journalist who knows the field of housing – its failures and its potential fixes – better than almost anyone. He wrote an article about the threat of flammable cladding a month before Grenfell caught fire. How has housing policy shaped Britain in the last 50 years? Who did more to damage the housing system, Labour or the Tories? Is more housing supply always the solution? And why is no one talking about the crisis facing our ageing population, one million of whom will be in housing insecurity and poverty by 2030?

NYC Democratic Socialists of America chairman Gustavo Gordillo sat down with Martha MacCallum on Fox News, and it did not go well for him. We break down his dodgy answers on whether the DSA wants to abolish the US Senate (their platform says yes), his defense of government-run utilities using New York's failed wind farm projects as evidence, his claim that his own immigrant success story is "the exception," and his stunning assertion that no one has a constitutional right to a return on investment. We also dig into the DSA's actual platform — eliminating the Senate and Electoral College, ending deportations, defunding the Pentagon, and a wealth tax — and his claim that American "imperialism" is why his family fled Peru. Chuck Todd opens with a story that seems small and turns out to be a perfect miniature of everything wrong with this Pentagon: a Blue Angels flyover at Pensacola Beach came in too low, the pilot who made the honest mistake felt terrible about it — and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, without bothering to establish a single fact about what happened, seized the moment to gloat and own the libs. Chuck calls Hegseth an absolute clown and a fake soldier, argues the incident is a window into a Pentagon where the boss cares more about winning an online argument than about the safety of the people he commands, and where the entire "military testosterone" discourse — Hegseth's fixation on creating "supertrooper" fighting men is both dumb and genuinely dangerous. His verdict: a great American military culture is being actively degraded. He extends the same argument to ICE, where the violence has been entirely predictable — the officer involved in the latest shooting had enormous red flags in his background, and the agency appears to have no meaningful vetting process at all. He also explains why, contrary to much of the commentary, he wasn't alarmed by Trump's primetime election-denial address: it was a nothingburger. Trump has no evidence, which is why he keeps turning to cranks — his endorsement of Mike Lindell tells you everything — and there's no policy response attached to his own foreign-interference allegations, since China has faced no sanction whatsoever for what Trump claims it did. He argues American elections are extraordinarily hard to overturn precisely because the system is decentralized, that Trump is too lazy to become a Putin or a Mao… A more disciplined president would frighten Chuck far more. Chuck sees a forever war taking shape in Iran: the strategy amounts to throwing kinetic weight at the problem and hoping the regime collapses, while Iran fights the asymmetric war it always planned, targeting Gulf states and now civilian survival infrastructure — hitting desalination plants could trigger a crisis lasting years — and nobody in Washington actually knows how to win. He closes with a genuinely important profile of Undersecretary Elbridge Colby, the intellectual architect of the new right's foreign policy and a favorite of JD Vance, whose vision of American retreat from its allies would effectively be the policy of a President Vance: Colby has trashed Mark Carney's "middle power" strategy and declared that no country is entitled to the American defense industry — which, notes, misses that buying military hardware is a 30-year bet on trusting an ally, and middle powers who conclude they can be coerced by Washington will simply take their money somewhere else. Quick hits on a messy Wisconsin governor's race (Tony Evers built no infrastructure and left no obvious heir in one of the country's most misunderstood swing states) and Tuesday's Arizona primary round things out. Then, bestselling novelist Daniel Silva — creator of the Gabriel Allon series — joins the Chuck Toddcast for a conversation that starts with the craft of spy fiction and quickly becomes something closer to a threat assessment. Silva's newest plot turns on drones, and he's blunt that this isn't speculative: he believes it's a matter of time before a drone carries out an assassination or a mass-casualty attack. He talks about the strange responsibility of writing a fictional event that could plausibly happen next month, why he deliberately withholds visual detail so readers build the scene themselves, and what he learned reporting out how modern kidnappings and ransom negotiations actually work. The darker current running underneath is his read on American intelligence: the FBI is no longer the same place, the U.S. is jettisoning allies and hollowing out its agencies, and Silva poses the question a novelist is uniquely positioned to ask — if you're the GRU right now, where would you most want an asset placed? He notes that the best assets often don't know they're assets, that NATO held a crisis meeting about Trump, and that this is precisely the moment to be putting the screws to a vulnerable Putin, since Ukraine has victory in sight and isn't desperate for any deal. The conversation turns personal when Chuck asks how Silva handles Israel's collapsing global reputation in a series built around an Israeli intelligence officer. Silva says the shift was entirely foreseeable, that he has no interest in writing about Gaza, and that what saddens him most is the "fortress Israel" mindset — a country founded on European-style socialist ideals now convinced it can go it alone, siloed from the world, while antisemitism surges globally in a way he warns only ever needs the right set of circumstances to reignite. He and Chuck range across the forces reshaping the century: giant corporations approaching the power of nation-states, a new generation of the ultra-wealthy who simply don't believe in philanthropy, AI's capacity to wipe out the knowledge economy, and Silva's conviction that the next great political crisis may be a climate-driven natural disaster — noting that the last major El Niño produced famines that killed millions, that today's migration patterns are already climate-driven, and that people are dying right now as a direct result of cutting humanitarian aid. He's unsparing on writing and AI), amused and appalled that Trump has turned the National Mall into a mess with a reflecting pool gone "Kermit green," and closes on the question every prolific novelist gets asked and rarely answers honestly: does he ever actually rest? Finally, Chuck hops into the ToddCast Time Machine to draw parallels between the arguments in modern American politics to the argument between Richard Nixon and Nikita Khrushchev in the infamous “kitchen debate” and answers listeners’ questions in the “Ask Chuck” segment. Welcome to Last Call, a look at the biggest stories Jim and Greg covered over the past week on the 3 Martini Lunch. This week they discuss the passing of South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham, Secretary of State Marco Rubio's brutal takedown of Marxist and far left political movements, California Rep. Ro Khanna's dramatic “detention” by the IDF in the West Bank, and whether Daylight Saving Time should be made permanent.First, Jim and Greg recoil at the shocking death of Sen. Graham, who passed away suddenly over the weekend at age 71. They reflect on his lasting legacy in foreign policy, as a champion for pro-life legislation, and more. They also discuss replacing Graham in the Senate.Next, they applaud Sec. Rubio's excellent speech contrasting the ugly, brutal, unimaginative reality of Marxism vs. the beauty, goodness, and ingenuity of free societies. Jim and Greg also welcomre this very clear denunciation of where the Democratic Party appears to be heading. Then, Jim and Greg turn to Rep. Ro Khanna's trip to the West Bank. Khanna claims he was detained by the IDF during a confrontation with local settlers. Jim and Greg explain why Khanna's account is exaggerated and how this was an obvious political stunt. Finally, they close with a highly skeptical look at a House-passed bill to make Daylight Saving Time permanent. Jim and Greg dismiss the change as a bad idea that's already a proven failure. They also see it as a desperate stunt by an unpopular Congress trying to look busy. Please visit our great sponsors:Noble GoldOwn the metal the future depends on with the help of Noble Gold. Dr. Elida Dakoli joins the program to share her family's firsthand experience surviving one of the most brutal communist regimes in modern history. A concert pianist and author, Dr. Dakoli recounts the murder of her grandfather, who served as mayor of her hometown before being targeted during the communist party's crackdown, along with other members of her family. She explains how fear, surveillance, and silence became tools of control, creating a society where people learned that speaking openly could come at an unimaginable cost.Sarah and Dr. Dakoli discuss the unsettling parallels they believe are emerging in the West today as governments grow larger and citizens increasingly look to institutions for security during periods of economic hardship. As prices rise, jobs become scarcer, and financial pressures mount, they explore the importance of resisting the temptation to exchange freedom for promises of stability and support. Dr. Dakoli's family's story serves as both a historical account and a cautionary reminder of how easily liberty can erode when fear and dependency replace individual responsibility and resilience.Learn more, see her event dates and purchase her book at elidadakoli.com
New Discourses Bullets, Ep. 171 A heated and important discussion rages about the two parallel terms "Islam" and "Islamism." Are they the same? Is there some difference? Is that difference, if it exists at all, a distinction without any real difference? Different people have different, and strong, opinions on this matter. To look into it in this episode of New Discourses Bullets, host James Lindsay does something he's famous for doing: turning to an original source. In this case, the source is Sayyid Qutb's 1964 book Milestones, a radical Jihadist Salafist book that reinvigorated and reinspired the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, then beyond. He reads a short segment here from Milestones (https://amzn.to/4vQZNC7) that makes clear that at least for Qutb's style of Salafist Islam, "Islam" as the religion and "Islamism" as "the movement" to implement that religion are intrinsically connected in the same way as theory and praxis are wedded in Communism. Join him to understand that while there is a conceptual difference between the religion and the "correct" movement to implement the religion, they are in fact at the end of the day fundamentally inseparable. Curtis breaks down the totalitarian history and tactics of Communism and Islamism, and how they are still actively at work in the West today. He asks why Deep Staters have yet to be imprisoned for Russiagate, Covid-19, the 2020 election, open borders, Jeffrey Epstein, and more, and urges patriots to continue praying for America and urging their elected officials to pursue justice. And he shares fascinating and providential stories from his own family tree to remind listeners to trust God and live their lives for Him.

The New Discourses Podcast with James Lindsay, Ep. 213 In the 1960s, a radical Islamic Salafist named Sayyid Qutb wrote a short little radical book called Milestones (https://amzn.to/4bn9hMX) in which he laid out a new vision for what the world usually calls "Islamism" today. That model wasn't just rooted in a backwards-looking radical fundamentalist vision of Islam called Jihadist Salafism as taken up by the Muslim Brotherhood; it was also based directly on Vladimir Lenin's radical model for creating and installing Communism through Bolshevism, particularly Lenin's 1902 booklet called What Is To Be Done? (https://www.marxists.org/archive/lenin/works/1901/witbd/) The prescription is for an ideologically pure radical vanguard to take control and pull the ideology into global dominance, even against its own moderates. In this episode of the New Discourses Podcast, host James Lindsay continues his reading of Milestones in a fourth volume, outlining the nature of this vanguard approach as Qutb explains it in his third chapter and tying it definitively to other radical ideological movements, especially Lenin's Communism. Join him for a very enlightening reading. Our podcast today focuses on several U.S. Supreme Court rulings involving presidential authority, birthright citizenship, and election procedures. The conversation examines competing constitutional interpretations of executive power, the structure of federal agencies, immigration and citizenship policies, absentee ballot regulations, and judicial reasoning in closely divided court decisions. It also includes extensive discussions on American politics, ideological disputes, government institutions, immigration, capitalism, communism, national identity, and public remarks made by political figures regarding America and its values. 1. Presidential Authority to Fire Officials A Supreme Court ruling on President Trump's authority to remove officials from independent federal agencies strengthened presidential control over the executive branch by overturning or limiting previous precedent that restricted a president's ability to remove agency officials. It is characterized as a major constitutional and political victory for presidential power. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) should be fully accountable to the president because they are part of the executive branch. Bipartisan commissions may become less common as a result of these decisions. 2. Commentary on Zohran Mamdani and Progressive Politics His Fourth of July remarks were anti-American and compare progressive or socialist policies to communism. Communism produces poverty and authoritarianism and contrasts "American exceptionalism" with what we characterize as Mamdani's worldview. 3. Birthright Citizenship Another major topic is the Supreme Court's handling of birthright citizenship. Children born in the United States to undocumented immigrants should not automatically receive U.S. citizenship. Current policy, an argument for restricting birthright citizenship, expresses support for either a constitutional amendment or federal legislation to change it. 4. Mail-In Ballot and Election Law Case Supreme Court case concerning absentee ballots in Mississippi. The Court upheld a law allowing ballots postmarked by Election Day to be received and counted afterward. The ruling will make it harder to make elections fair and argue for stricter election procedures and federal election reforms. Please Hit Subscribe to this podcast Right Now.
