The election of socialist Zhoran Mamdani as New York mayor is an alarming sign of the rise of critical theory and neo-Marxist ideology. This ideology is now being used by communists to advance their goal of overthrowing the American system. This episode examines the ideology of critical theorists who claim to be opposing fascism but in reality are working subversively to reconstruct humanity along Marxian lines. And as with Marx, these critical theorists are virulent atheists who reject all notions of a supreme spiritual being as creator and parent.The counterproposal section explains that the ultimate solution to the problems communism seeks to address must be found in a greater understanding of spirituality and in restoring the originally intended relationship between the human race and God.The news portion addresses a global crackdown on Christians and the need to counter it. It's the 60th anniversary of the failed coup in Indonesia, the rise of the dictator Suharto and the removal of popular leader Sukarno. The events that followed the coup led to a period mass killings across the archipelago nation. It's estimated that anywhere between 500,000-3 million people, mostly members of the PKI (the Indonesian Communist Party), were killed. Besides the mass murder of PKI members and anyone else identified as an opponent to the regime, Suharto's forces carried out an erasure of the history and culture of the opposition. Since the fall of Suharto in 1998, declassified documents have shown us the significant role that the Indonesia military took in the genocide and the role western governments (the U.S., the U.K., Australia) played in Suharto's takeover.To discuss all of this, we're re-joined by Dr. Clinton Fernandes. We discuss the history of Indonesia's failed coup and the subsequent genocide, the role of western governments and politics in Indonesia today. A social media satire claimed New York Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani canceled an oath-taking ceremony requiring him to pledge to “support and uphold” the U.S. Constitution.  Evidently, the event will take place. But it's no laughing matter that he can't possibly make such a promise truthfully. In fact, both of Mamdani's ideologies – Communism and sharia-supremacism – require the overthrow of our constitutional Republic.  The prospect that there will be a growing number of candidates like Mamdani demands that individuals elected to jobs vital to the safety and security of Americans, like those appointed to such positions, be subject to background checks and obtain security clearances.  The Founders wisely required that officeholders attest to their loyalty to the Constitution. Anyone who cannot or will not faithfully state and honor such a commitment must be precluded from pursuing their revolutionary agenda from inside our government.   This is Frank Gaffney.

Dear, surviving, audient: how is it hanging?WeI sympathize.If you were looking to art as an answer, hoping for some revolutionary frameworks, or just plain ol' solace inside --            -- I'm afraid most of the pod's going to tell you to keep looking.In this one we watched 2 "political" movies released this year: Ari Aster's Eddington and Paul Thomas Anderson's One Battle After Another.More generally, the 2 movies raised the question of what it means to involve politics in a movie. Jake took this as an excuse to geek out on Grad school vibes and do a deep dive into Walter Benjamin's attempts to save aesthetics from the khaki schmattes of Communism.Who said Marx Grudge?Benjamin does brandish an interesting, rather Derridian, analytic tool in the distinction between allegory and the symbol; which I will anger Jake and summarize here as analogous (allegorical?!) to a movie whose special effects are shot on set with actual props, and the one where the effects are all programmed in (as CGI). Like shooting props, the allegory foregrounds its technicity, while the symbol will claim the harmony of form-function and content. Except the symbol doesn't work anymore. Like the pathetic attempt poor Andy had to suffer through, where the reinvented "Superman" is called-upon to white-wash the Gaza genocide (still a western debacle). On a July episode of this show we discussed the rise of Zohran Mamdani and how his campaign for mayor of NYC was being backed by the very people behind the scenes who he supposedly was in conflict with in front of the camera. While Mamdani was called a communist Muslim, his communications director was the Jewish Andrew Epstein; his political director was the Jewish Julian Gerson; his media strategist was the Jewish Morris Katz; his key ally was Jewish NYC comptroller Brad Lander; his campaign was funded by Jewish billionaire George Soros; and his political image was propped up on TikTok by the Jewish Larry Ellison whose Oracle company began with the CIA. Furthermore, Mamdani also worked behind the scenes with the Jewish Daniel Goulden from the NYC Democratic Socialist steering committee, discussing what liberal Jews advocate for and how he can manipulate Muslims to vote for him. It turns out his wife, Rama Duwaji, got her start in art with money funneled from the Ford Foundation into various art communities, a group with links to the CIA and cultural influence campaigns. Some link it to Soros and his Open Society too. Strangely, one Jewish publication said “Islamophobic attacks on Zohran Mamdani” are actually attacks on “Jewish voters.” But Canary Mission, which engages in espionage and blackmail against American citizens and legal residents who criticize Israel, published a video of someone dressed like a “Muslim” saying Mamdani got all his money from Muslims. Reagan's Pragmatic Cold War Victory, Don Regan's Disastrous Tenure, and the Iran-Contra Near-Death Experience. Max Boot discusses how Ronald Reagan had no patience for communism, and in his first term, his policy toward the Soviet Union was somewhat unsuccessful, though it improved in 1985 with the ascension of Mikhail Gorbachev. Reagan's genius was recognizing that Gorbachev was a different communist leader he could "do business with," and they established a rapport that allowed them to constructively reduce nuclear armaments and peacefully end the Cold War. The transition into Reagan's second term saw a catastrophic personnel decision when Reagan allowed Jim Baker and Don Regan to swap jobs. Regan lacked political instincts and presided over problems that culminated in the Iran-Contra scandal. Reagan was highly exercised by American hostages seized by Hezbollah, and National Security Advisor Bud McFarlane suggested shipping weapons to supposed Iranian moderates in exchange for hostage releases, which was a fiasco. The scandal intensified when McFarlane's successor, John Poindexter, and Oliver North diverted the profits from the weapon sales to fund the anti-communist Contras in Nicaragua. This incident could have led to impeachment, but Reagan's salvation was his reputation for being hands-off and disengaged. Reagan also faced criticism over a human rights double standard, speaking eloquently about violations behind the Iron Curtain but being less exercised about apartheid in South Africa.
