President Trump pushes democrats and the media to defend Communism. Don't believe the fake news telling the story that the MAGA base is upset with Trump's call to assist Israel in - once and for all - destroying the brutal Iranian regime. Listen to the fake headlines as Jesse Watters tells the breathtaking details of a military assault the world has never seen before. Cuba is next as Trump gives the communist dictatorship an offer they can't refuse.
Rising unemployment, increased military spending, and a decline in living standards for most people, including the middle class: the description fits both the 1930s and the 2020s. In the 1930s, it was a situation that morphed into the destruction and horror of the Second World War. On Downstream with Aaron Bastani this week is Clara […]
In this episode of the Crazy Wisdom Podcast, host Stewart Alsop sits down with Vahram Ayvazyan, founder of the Armenian Network State, for a wide-ranging conversation touching on AI and the future of work, the cyclical nature of human conflict throughout history, the decay of the nation-state, the concept of a "fourth establishment" of free people operating outside traditional power structures, the role of greed and self-aggrandizement in politics and tech, and how network states could serve as a parallel structure to challenge entrenched global elites. You can find Vahram on LinkedIn, or check the Armenian Network State page at networkstate.io.Timestamps00:00 The Future of AI and Humanity05:57 Human Nature and Greed12:00 The Crisis of Nation-States17:53 Community Resilience and Abundance23:30 The Power of Storytelling in Change29:43 Cultural Connections: Armenia and Africa35:43 Western Dominance and Its Consequences42:17 Creativity in the Age of AI48:07 Creating Parallel StructuresKey Insights1. Humans advance technologically but remain socially and biologically stagnant. Vahram argues that despite extraordinary technological leaps, human nature remains driven by greed and self-aggrandizement. Conflicts today mirror those of thousands of years ago, with only the actors changing while the underlying structure of power struggles stays the same.2. Power corrupts by disconnecting leaders from reality. Using a personal account of a deputy head of state, the guest illustrates how those who gain significant power gradually lose touch with reality, fall into cycles of wanting more, and become trapped in ego-driven decision-making regardless of their original intentions.3. The nation-state is in decay and failing its citizens. Globalization, internet, and migration have eroded the nation-state's ability to deliver basic services. Events like the Valencia flooding exposed how even wealthy European governments mismanage resources despite collecting enormous tax revenues.4. Three institutions currently rule the world, with a fourth emerging. Nation-states, multinational corporations, and religious institutions form today's power structure. The guest envisions a "fourth establishment" — network states — composed of free-thinking individuals connecting across geographies to build parallel, dignity-based communities outside these failing systems.5. Intentions matter more than the tools themselves. Whether discussing AI, nuclear energy, or mathematics, the guest emphasizes that technology is neutral and that what defines civilization is the moral intention behind its use, not the sophistication of the tools developed.6. Western civilization's dominance was built on superior weapons, not superior values. The guest challenges Western narratives by suggesting its historical advantage came primarily from military technology rather than cultural or moral superiority, contrasting this with indigenous and Eastern philosophies that treat land, community, and human relationships as sacred rather than as capital.7. Evolutionary, not revolutionary, change is the path forward. The guest warns that revolutionary movements are easily infiltrated, diverted, or crushed by existing power structures. Meaningful change requires patiently building critical mass through parallel structures, storytelling, and emotional connection until the alternative becomes undeniably powerful.
Trillions of dollars of AI build-out. An economy poised on the edge of a giant crisis. Some say it's a bubble. But what if it's an entirely new kind of economics? Stalinism on Trial: Communism and Republican Justice in the Spanish Civil War (Liverpool University Press, 2025) is a history of Communism and anti-Communism in the Spanish Civil War. It uses newly available archival material to reassess Soviet intervention in Spain and reappraise the role of Premier Juan Negrín. How did the Soviet operation affect attempts to rebuild the Republican justice system that the war had shattered? How did Negrín use the courts to combat wartime espionage and treason in the era of the Soviet mass repressions? How did wartime trials communicate politics, both domestic and international? Finally, how have Cold War politics distorted our understanding of Communism in the Spanish Civil War? Stalinism on Trial traces the Republic's tribunals through revolution and war, focusing in particular on the prosecution and "show trial" of the anti-Stalin Marxist party, POUM (Partido Obrero de Unificación Marxista), in whose militia George Orwell served. This small party was thrown onto centre stage when police arrested its leadership on suspicion of espionage and its leader, Andreu Nin, disappeared while in police custody. The ensuing prosecution and dramatic courtroom trial highlighted the contradictions of Soviet intervention in Spain. It also illustrated the disastrous impact that western anti-Communism and appeasement had on Spain's war effort. The book is at once a penetrating microhistory of the POUM's prosecution and an expansive transnational history of antifascism in interwar Europe. In the mid-1800s, long before the Soviet Union or Maoist China, a French political dreamer named Étienne Cabet tried to build a communist utopia... in the heart of America. What followed was a bizarre, ambitious, and often comically disastrous experiment involving disease, deception, authoritarian hypocrisy, failed frontier settlements, buying an abandoned Mormon town, and one of the strangest forgotten social movements in U.S. history. What happens when flawed human beings are given unlimited power? In this episode of The Todd Huff Show, Todd continues his foundational series on political philosophy by asking a critical question: Who should hold power—and how much should they have?Todd explains why the Founding Fathers built a system designed to restrain government, rooted in a realistic understanding of human nature. From biblical insights about sin to historical examples of tyranny, he explores why good intentions aren't enough to build good systems. The discussion also touches on communism's fatal flaw, the myth of the “benevolent dictator,” and why political debates should focus on outcomes—not motives. If you want to understand the deeper ideas behind conservatism, this conversation lays the groundwork.

As the country begins to worry about the prices at the gas pumps, the media and the democrats try to heighten people's fear. However, one speech by President Trump guaranteeing oil passage through the Strait of Vermouth automatically saw the price of oil tumble down. While the administration focuses on Iran, whispers of Cuba being next has got the island saying they want no takeover and would accept a "friendly takeover". Plus, Lindsey Graham is playing President with his latest comments, the Dems DHS shutdown is beginning to affect American travels but more dangerously it could affect our safety with possible terror cells, James Carville rant is going viral, and how is it the Dems backed Talarico in Texas over Crockett especially when we play back Talarico's greatest hits of ignorant, yet scary, beliefs. Nearly all of us on Earth live within a ‘nation-state'. Nation-states are an invisible and seemingly inevitable and eternal part of the infrastructure that forms our society: the water we swim in. Rarely do we pause to consider how this global system of nation-states came into being, and what might replace it after its gone. […]
Join us to hear from renowned historian Frank Dikötter, who offers a commanding history recasting how communists seized power in China. In April 1927, soldiers and detectives descended upon the Russian Embassy in Beijing, revolvers drawn. An hour later, they emerged with a trove of documents, some of them partly damaged by Russians who had tried quickly to destroy them. In these singed and soggy papers was proof that Moscow, despite agreeing three years earlier not to “propagate communistic doctrines,” had, in fact, sent what amounts to millions in today's dollars—along with shiploads of arms and advisors—to support nothing less than a revolution in China. These findings are hardly ever mentioned by historians—until now. Dikötter says the history of modern China has long been framed as an organic enterprise, wherein Communists mobilized the “peasants,” took land from the rich and redistributed it to the poor. Drawing on the Beijing raid as well as several other overlooked archives, Dikötter's new book Red Dawn Over China reveals how unlikely a communist victory actually was, had it not been for massive financial and military support from the Soviet Union; a brutal war of occupation by Japan; severe miscalculations by the United States; and—most of all—the Communist Party's unflinching will to conquer at all costs. Dikötter reveals how what began in 1921 with 13 delegates in a dusty room led to a red flag being raised over the Forbidden City in 1949, forever altering the course of history for a quarter of humanity and shaping the global balance of power as we know it today. About the Speaker: Frank Dikötter is the Milias Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University. He is also Chair Professor of Humanities at the University of Hong Kong. His books have changed the way historians view China, from the classic The Discourse of Race in Modern China to his award-winning People's Trilogy, a series of books that document the lives of ordinary people under Mao: Mao's Great Famine: The History of China's Most Devastating Catastrophe; The Tragedy of Liberation: A History of the Chinese Revolution, 1945-1957; and The Cultural Revolution: A People's History, 1962-1976. The notion that the Global South is affected ‘first and worst' by global shocks they didn't cause, namely climate change, is one of the cornerstones of leftist thought. But what if it's not entirely true? What if, contrary to this tenet, it's wealthy Western nations who have over-developed and lost their resilience in the process? […]

They explore how underground churches survived persecution under Soviet regimes, why some Christian leaders thrived during political transition while others struggled, and what these historical shifts reveal about today's Western church facing secularization, consumerism, and moral confusion. Designed for Christians who want serious theological reflection on current events, this conversation addresses faith under pressure, cultural change, Christian leadership, spiritual formation, ordered liberty, and how believers can remain rooted in biblical truth while navigating modern political and social disruption.DONATE LINK: https://toltogether.com/donate BOOK A SPEAKER: https://toltogether.com/book-a-speakerJOIN TOL CONNECT: https://toltogether.com/tol-connect TOL Connect is an online forum where TOL listeners can continue the conversation begun on the podcast.
Hey folks, Dean is traveling for work this week and is going to see St. Francis' bones on display in Italy (this is not a joke), so this week we're reposting some classic Cuba content from 2022! It's the last week of Advent! We made it. We're rounding out our series on Cuba with some extremely niche content about Papal visits and Cuba. This is some really in the weeds content, but it shows a real interesting interchange between the Cuban revolution and religion. There's a dialectic at play here that is worth paying attention to! Here was the book we mentioned from Fidel on the podcast: https://archive.org/details/capitalismincris00cast/page/36/mode/2upYou can find all of JPII's addresses in Cuba here: https://www.vatican.va/content/john-paul-ii/en/travels/1998/travels/documents/trav_cuba-1998.htmlGet our Cuba Zine
On anti-racism, communism, and philosophy. Alex Gourevitch talks to political philosopher Paul Gomberg about his original and deep Marxist arguments for what makes racism wrong, why racism cannot be eradicated without overcoming capitalism, and the limits of many contemporary anti-racist arguments. What does it mean to "alienate" race? What is the harm in racism? How does it harm everyone, not just its obvious victims? Why does Gomberg argue that can racism cannot be overcome in capitalist society? Has official racism been replaced by official anti-racism in the neoliberal era? What does it mean to understand anti-racism as communism? How did Gomberg's communist militancy impact his philosophy? In 2001, Eric Schlosser published Fast Food Nation: an investigation into the toxic depths of America's food industry. Twenty five years later, the book remains an urgent intervention, as much for what it says about workers' rights as for our agricultural systems and dietary health. On Downstream this week, Ash Sarkar talks to Eric Schlosser […]
Are humans distinct from nature? Are there natural limits to inequality? Can you have action without effort? Do bacteria have agency? Jem, Nadia and Keir find themselves dwarfed by the concept of ecology in this planetary-scale episode, which touches on cybernetics, systems thinking, ecofeminism and actor-network theory. Their ACFM guide to ecological thinking includes ideas […]
This week on the Mark Levin Show, AOC, Gavin Newsom and Hillary Clinton trash our country overseas because they hate our country. While our brave and patriotic military personnel stationed overseas are protecting the free world, they give aid and comfort to our enemies. And none of them have done anything for the betterment of our country. Later, a massive raw sewage spill is occurring in the Potomac River due to a break in a six-foot pipe on the Maryland side, dumping millions to hundreds of millions of gallons of raw sewage into the river flowing through Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. This poses serious health risks, environmental damage, and threats to people, wildlife, the regional water supply, and potentially the Atlantic Ocean. This is Democrat mismanagement—particularly by Maryland's Democrat leaders—for causing the crisis. Meanwhile, Democrats in Congress have defunded FEMA forcing its employees to coordinate cleanup efforts without pay. Also, processed foods should be defended against their common portrayal as dietary villains. About 100 years ago, mass urbanization, poverty, and lack of refrigeration made fresh food scarce, expensive, and prone to spoilage or contamination in cities, leading to widespread issues like foodborne illnesses, malnutrition, stomach cancer, dysentery, and short life expectancy. Processed foods, including canning, pasteurization, and preservatives, emerged as a critical solution to feed growing populations safely and affordably, preventing starvation and reducing risks from rancid or adulterated items. While some synthetic additives may have downsides, they are far safer than historical alternatives like rotten eggs or swill milk. Our military personnel deserve our respect and our gratitude. They stand ready to act on orders from President Trump to protect current and future generations from Iran. Ordinary Americans strongly support the military, unlike Marxists, Islamists, woke individuals, neo-Nazis, and isolationists. Isolationism against evils like Islamism, Communism, and fascism is suicidal. Sen Bernie Sanders continues to display a perplexing misunderstanding of economics with his recent attacks on billionaires like Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg. He claims these wealthy individuals are thwarting a wealth tax measure and insists they should pay their "fair share," ignoring the fact that the top 1% already contribute over 40% of federal income taxes. Instead of fostering an informed dialogue about economic realities, Sanders resorts to Marxist and Socialist rhetoric that vilifies success and oversimplifies the complexities of wealth creation. It's high time we confront this misguided socialist perspective and recognize the vital role that successful entrepreneurs play in driving our economy forward. Learn more about your ad choices. Later, decades ago Landmark Legal Foundation and other patriot lawyers litigated school choice, starting in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They represented a black liberal state representative, Polly Williams, and her constituents in the city's poorest areas, advancing an idea originated by the late Dr. Milton Friedman. The program aimed to let money follow inner-city students—primarily minority and black children—out of failing, crime-ridden, union-controlled, government-run schools to better options, including participating private schools. Despite fierce opposition from Democrats, the NEA, AFT, NAACP, and others, the effort succeeded through multiple victories at the Wisconsin Supreme Court and twice at the U.S. Supreme Court over years. These wins, achieved alongside key colleagues and heroes, established school choice as one of the greatest civil rights victories in modern times, without which it would not exist. Today on Joe Oltmann Untamed, Patrick is taking the mic to expose the woke mind virus that's infected every corner of our lives on social media, failing schools, courts, politicians, and beyond. This isn't just cultural rot; it's the front line of a slow-rolling Communist Revolution in America that's been building for decades through indoctrination, organized chaos, and weaponized equity agendas that leave our kids unprepared for reality while pushing them into sexual confusion and obedience. We're watching the system demand compliant citizens hooked on universal basic income and government control exactly what the Communists want.Joe sits down with Chaz Evanson, the unaffiliated firebrand running for Governor who's refusing to play by the establishment's rules. Chaz isn't just another politician; he's a retired Marine veteran with a PhD-level grasp of the issues, zero tolerance for corruption, and a bold vision to reclaim Colorado from one-party rule, woke indoctrination, and government overreach. From restoring parental rights and safe schools to slashing wasteful spending, securing the border, and putting everyday Coloradans first, this interview dives deep into the future of our state and why the status quo is crumbling. We dissect the effects of Communism. Pramila Jayapal's “Trans Bill of Rights” pushing radical gender ideology, New Jersey forcing second-graders into gender identity and sexual health lessons, and anti-American chants from people who admit they're only here for the money. Add skyrocketing remittances to Mexico (64.7 billion USD in 2024, 3.5% of their GDP), Islamic calls to prayer blasting through New York at 5 a.m. under a new mayor, NYC streets buried in feces, Washington Democrats raiding firefighter pensions, and Polis pretending he didn't know Palantir fled Colorado for Florida. The evidence is undeniable that the Commies grip is suffocating us, and it's time to call it what it is: a deliberate takeover.
