Joshua Inacio - healer, intuitive & spiritual teacher - reviews and gives insights on some of the most inspirational and supportive books of our time
Our "why" is always there! It is always playing out through us. It is the core of our motivation and why we are drawn to other people and products. The funny thing is we tend to focus on our 'what' or 'how', and have trouble calling our core values and reasons to mind. This book helps illustrate the importance of our 'why' and helps you get there. Enjoy!
Known widely for her research and expert ability to convey the relevance of vulnerability in every area of our lives, Brene Brown focuses this into the field of Leadership for "Dare to Lead". Here I do my best to sum up the key themes - it's well worth reading as she brings together a lot of stories from her past books. Also on her website there are a ton of resources which complement this valuable work. Enjoy!
"The Work" has supported me so much - it is as powerful as it is simple. In this review I take you through Katie's process of "Inquiry" - how and why it works. You can use this on ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING. Enjoy!
The Dark Side of the Light Chasers is in my opinion one of the most important self-development books out there. We miss and deny so much of ourselves as part of life and the spiritual path, and this book helps identify that and for us to reclaim aspects of ourselves...that we can find an even greater light inside us. You can tell I like it! Enjoy
John Van Auken wrote this book in 1993, compiling segments of Cayce's writings with his own commentary about the human body. I had never come across this book before and it is an interesting take and presentation of Cayce's messages. Enjoy!
"Unconditional Parenting" by Alfie Kohn is a groundbreaking approach to parenting that gives parents powerful alternatives to help children become their most caring, responsible selves. Even if you don't have children or if they are grown, this book connects dots and explains what leads some of our current behaviors and choices. Alfie has written prolifically on the subject of shifting from punishment/reward (doing to), to more of a 'working with' relationship with our children. He is humorous and unapologetic in this! Enjoy!
“The Prophet” by Khalil Gibran is a peerless classic from over 100 years ago, containing wisdom and insights on society that are needed now more than ever. Every word is a gift. Enjoy!
“The Five Love Languages” by Gary Chapman is a simple read that supports building communication, love and trust between couples. His additional work focusing on singles, children, the workplace also deserves a mention. Enjoy!
Insights and Perspectives on "Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill" - the book that birthed generations of self-development literature! Enjoy!
Joshua Inacio shares insights and perspectives on “How to Have a Beautiful Mind” by Edward de Bono. Mr De Bono has been a leading voice in creative thinking and communication for decades - every chapter of this book is transformational potential if you allow these ideas to permeate your conversations, meetings and creative discussions. Enjoy!
The Big Leap” by Gay Hendricks is a simple yet powerful read that helps clear the barriers to our “zone of genius” and unexplored potential. It gracefully allows the investigation of the self-sabotage that habitually impedes us from this. Enjoy!
"Destiny of Souls" is a body of work documenting our journey between incarnations that manages to be simultaneously mind-blowing and deeply comforting. Enjoy!
Published in 1986, CoDependent No More was the first work to truly give a voice, hope and focus to millions of people experiencing disempowerment and depression as a result of the deeply challenging behavior of those around them. In her words, a "gentle, non-judgmental and simple approach". Not an easy read but a deeply rewarding one.
Timeless wisdom for these times! Every day of our there is at least one of these habits that can turn our day from bad to good, or good to great. Enjoy!
One of the books that is closest to his heart, Dan Millman packs in profound wisdom into a brisk narrative. Each chapter is a swift lesson in life and spirituality culminating in the encouragement to surrender and to see the unity in all. Enjoy!
Such an amazing book - a classic. This book helps to create dettachment between our human experience and the fluidity of our spirit. That in itself is freedom. Enjoy!
