In this episode, I take you behind the scenes of one of the most anticipated events in the No BS world — our annual in-person retreat in Brooklyn, NY! With 60 students flying in from around the globe, I share what goes into planning an experience that's equal parts strategic deep dive and soul-fueling celebration. You'll hear why in-person connection is a game-changer for business growth, how the retreat is intentionally designed to unlock transformation, and yes, how I convinced a huge name and a hero of mine to come speak to our small-but-mighty community (spoiler: it involves a lot of heart and a little chutzpah). If you've ever wondered what makes the No BS retreat feel like a business homecoming or you're craving a clearer path to a freedom-filled, profitable business, this one's for you.Tune into this episode to hear:Why I host 60 people at my apartment to kick things off (yes, my bedroom door is open—literally)The mindset shifts and strategy breakthroughs we create when we get in the room togetherThe big reach we made this year that absolutely paid offWhat past attendees have said about how this retreat transformed their confidence, business, and even led to a TEDx TalkMentioned:Hillary Weiss on Instagram: @hcweissTalking ShrimpLaura Belgray on Instagram: @laurabelgrayThe Fuller Center for HousingSeth GodinE. 145: Emily Wilkins on How Niching Down and Owning That Niche Allowed Her Business to ThriveE. 219: Eleanor Hancock on Making the Big Leap, Changing Everything in Their Business, and Finding the Most Valuable Piece of Any Client ProjectThe dilemma of the timid trailblazer | Eleanor Hancock | TEDxBrayford PoolResources:No BS Agencies MasteryThe Price to Freedom Calculator™No BS LaunchpadNo BS Agency Owners Free Facebook GroupStart reading the first chapter of my bookPiasilva.com

Beyond The Systems Podcast | Business Systems & Growth Strategies For Your Online Business

In this vulnerable and refreshingly honest episode, I'm sharing something that might surprise some of you: I've started working a 9-5 corporate job! After five years of running my online business, I've made a significant life change that I'm actually incredibly excited about.I dive deep into my journey as an online entrepreneur - from the highs of location freedom and six-figure years to the challenging reality of feeling disconnected from my work despite outward success. I explore that uncomfortable space of "being unhappy in a business that everyone else is impressed with" and how I tried everything to fall in love with my business again.During our trip to Italy earlier this year, sitting in our dream Airbnb with a hot tub on the balcony overlooking Puglia, I had the stark realization: "What am I doing with my life?" Despite achieving the freedom lifestyle I thought I wanted, something fundamental was missing.I share the exact moment when I finally stopped ignoring my intuition and decided to explore a new path. You'll hear about my job search process (with zero corporate experience!), how I found a sales role that perfectly matches my skills, and how I'm navigating this major transition. For those wondering - no, I'm not shutting down my business! I'm currently balancing both, working about 10-15 hours per week on client projects alongside my full-time job. This episode is for anyone questioning if they're on the right path, feeling stuck in their zone of excellence instead of their zone of genius, or curious about transitioning from full-time entrepreneurship to corporate life.Remember to tune into your intuition - sometimes the right path doesn't make sense on paper, but feels completely right when you follow it.Resources from this episode:Book recommendation: "The Big Leap" by Gay Hendricks (exploring the concept of zone of genius vs. zone of excellence)Connect with Sam:Website: https://www.systemswithsam.com/services Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/systemswithsam/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/samwhiz/

Why do we hit invisible ceilings in our happiness, love, and success? This is the "upper limit problem," and it's sneakier than you might think… often leading us to self-sabotage, just when things are starting to look up. Today's guests, Gay and Katie Hendricks, are literally my idols. Experts on all things personal growth and relationships, they have trained thousands of coaches, authored more than 40 books, and have even appeared on Oprah. It's time to peel back the layers of upper limits and smash our own glass ceilings. When we fear we're shining too bright, we're dimming our zone of genius. This problem can also seep into our relationships – impacting our personal growth AND our happiness. I have experienced the upper limit problem personally and with my clients. Hear how I had one of the worst weeks ever following the excitement of my 6-figure book deal. Why is this phenomenon even happening to us? Bella Howard, a talented Grade 10 learner from Kloof High School in Durban, is on the cusp of achieving her ultimate dream: representing South Africa in touch rugby. She's been selected to join the South African Touch Boks team for the Youth Atlantic Touch Cup in Ireland in July. This remarkable young athlete's journey in touch rugby began four years ago, and her standout performance at the Inter-Provincial Tournament in Cape Town last year earned her a place on the national team. Bella's dedication and hard work have paid off, and she's already attended a national training camp as she prepares to compete against the best in the world. Her sporting achievements extend far beyond touch rugby. She represented KwaZulu-Natal in soccer, playing for the U13A and U14 teams, and became the youngest student to earn a spot on her high school's 1st netball team. Through the South African Netball Coaching Academy, her netball skills have taken her abroad, with tours to Italy and the UK. In 2024, she captained the U15A KZN touch rugby team to a second-place finish in Cape Town. Off the field, she continues to shine, achieving a 95% average in Grade 9 and 100% scores in Maths and Life Sciences in Grade 10. However, Bella now needs support to make her dream a reality. She is looking for sponsorship from corporate organisations, businesses, and individuals to help with the financial requirements of the tour. Every donation, big or small, would mean the world to her. Bella's mother, Ghita, expressed their pride in her accomplishments, saying, "There are no words that can describe how proud we are of Bella and all that she has accomplished, especially at such a young age. "Bella never ceases to amaze us, whether it's playing sports, cracking 100% in her exams, performing magic tricks or creating beautiful pieces of art... her talent is endless. "What we are most proud of is what a kind, gentle and empathetic young lady Bella is. She is always willing to help; she always gives 200% and we are honoured to be her parents."

Overcome Time Stress with Einstein Time, Inspired by Gay Hendricks' The Big Leap⚠️ Important: Do not listen to this hypnotic meditation while driving or doing anything that requires your full attention. Make sure you're in a safe, comfortable space before pressing play. Does this sound familiar?"I don't have time for that right now.""I wish I could, but I don't have time.""If only I had more time.""There aren't enough hours in the day.""Where did the time go?""I'm running out of time.""I've got to hurry—I'm late again.""Time just slips away from me.""I'm always rushing around.""If I could just find a spare minute.""Time's against me today.""I'm racing against the clock.""Everything takes longer than it should.""I'll squeeze it in if I can find the time."Imagine This: How amazing would it feel to stop battling the clock and start flowing with it, knowing you've got all the time you need for what matters most?I've caught myself playing the “time cop,” stressing over every minute, or the “time slacker,” letting hours slip away, and it always leaves me feeling like time's running me instead of the other way around. This session, inspired by Gay Hendricks' idea of “Einstein time,” is about breaking free from that trap and taking charge. Here's what we'll impress our subconscious dreaming mind with today:Time Ownership: Imagine yourself as the creator of time, calm and in control, with plenty to get everything done without the rush.Abundance Over Scarcity: We'll let go of that stressed-out, “not enough time” vibe and plant a sense of plenty, opening up space for creativity and ease.Empowered Living: Walk away feeling lighter, ready to live with more productivity and fulfillment, knowing you've got the power to shape your days. This isn't just a relaxation break, it's a chance to flip how you see time, shedding those limiting roles and stepping into a place where you're the source of it, with all the abundance you need. Please join me this Wellness Wednesday for the next group session on Zoom: https://adriannehart.gumroad.com/l/ekiga Check out more at https://www.adriannehart.com/ Subscribe for more hypnosis sessions to live with ease, and share how you're making peace with time in the comments!

Throughout the conversation, Gay shares invaluable wisdom from his own life. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Read the show notes for today's episode at terricole.com/704

This week, we welcome back Ed Walters, Chief Strategy Officer at vLex, to discuss the latest advancements in legal AI. The conversation covers the evolving role of AI in legal research, the integration of multimodal AI capabilities, and the ethical considerations surrounding the technology. With the rapid pace of innovation in AI-powered tools, Walters provides insights into how vLex is adapting and pushing the boundaries of legal technology. His perspective underscores the importance of structured legal data, security measures, and law firms leveraging their proprietary data for competitive advantage. One of the key topics discussed is the impact of reasoning models in AI-powered legal research. Walters notes how tools such as OpenAI, Gemini, and Anthropic's latest models are transforming legal workflows by enabling more sophisticated research capabilities. These tools allow for more human-like interactions with AI, increasing efficiency in knowledge work by reducing non-billable research time. Walters emphasizes that while these advancements are impressive, legal professionals should always verify AI-generated content, ensuring that human judgment remains the final step in legal analysis.A particularly exciting development discussed in the interview is vLex's recent integration of multimodal AI capabilities, enabling the analysis of audio and video files. Walters explains how this feature allows lawyers to transcribe and analyze depositions, oral arguments, and client intake interviews securely within Vincent AI's SOC 2 Type 2 compliant environment. This breakthrough provides legal professionals with enhanced efficiency in document review and litigation preparation, reinforcing vLex's commitment to transparency and usability. The discussion highlights how these features bridge the gap between traditional and AI-powered legal workflows, streamlining processes while maintaining high-security standards. The conversation also explores vLex's integration of docket alarms into litigation workflows, allowing legal professionals to generate comprehensive profiles of opposing counsel and judges. This tool enables lawyers to analyze patterns in case filings, settlement tendencies, and motion success rates. Walters emphasizes that the ability to synthesize vast amounts of structured litigation data provides firms with a strategic advantage. However, he also acknowledges the ethical implications, stressing the need for transparency in AI-generated insights to maintain the integrity of legal practice. Finally, Walters shares his thoughts on the future of legal AI, predicting a shift toward the integration of law firms' proprietary data with public datasets. He highlights vLex's new initiative, Vincent Studio, which allows firms to create bespoke AI-driven workflows tailored to their specific needs. This, he argues, is the next frontier in legal tech, where law firms transition from passive AI adoption to active AI-driven innovation. As the industry continues to evolve, Walters reinforces the idea that while AI enhances legal practice, human expertise and oversight remain irreplaceable. His insights provide a compelling vision of how legal professionals can leverage AI to augment, rather than replace, their legal expertise.Vincent Studio Request: beta@vlex.comListen on mobile platforms:  Apple Podcasts |  Spotify | YouTube Blue Sky: @geeklawblog.com @marlgebEmail: geekinreviewpodcast@gmail.comMusic: Jerry David DeCiccaTranscript

One of the unfortunate truths about our society is that we're more divided, vitriolic and operating from fear than ever before.  When we look at how people interact, there's no civility and mutual respect anymore. There's this huge collective tantrum and so much anger in people and it's completely polarized the culture.  This is especially highlighted in the political sphere. From local government to the national stage, there's more division, more contempt than collaboration, and that was never the original intent.  At its very basic level, government is about creating harmony and equity in society, but that's not happening anymore. How did we get here? How do we find peace in the midst of such vitriolic polarity?  In episode, former mayor of Ojai, California, Betsy Stix joins us to talk about leading in these contempt-filled times, and how she maintained equanimity in inflamed situations.  Things You'll Learn In This Episode  -A powerful impetus  How did The Big Leap lead Betsy Stix into local government? -The source of our separation  The amount of conflict and polarity we're seeing in our world feels unprecedented. How did we get here?  -React, disengage or rise above In these times of high conflict, it's really easy to get hijacked by fear. How do we redirect towards love?  -Back to breath How do we use our breath to create safety for ourselves when there's chaos all around us? Guest Bio Betsy is a lifelong teacher of human development, yoga, English, and French and former mayor of Ojai, California. After teaching for decades, she decided to run for mayor in 2020 during COVID, after reading Gay Hendricks' “The Big Leap” and learning that the city council was slow to enact environmental and social justice policy.  She canvased the town of 7,500 people in a mask and won 64% of the vote!  And she won again in 2022 when she ran against actor Anson Williams. During her tenure, the Ojai City Council passed rent stabilization/tenant protection, a greenhouse gas emission reduction code, approved truly low income housing while developing better solutions for the unhoused, passed animal protection ordinances celebrated by PETA, improved the city's plastic and tree ordinances, flew the Pride Flag for the first time, and founded the Mayor's Youth Council. She is proud to have run two 100% positive campaigns and championed emotional and spiritual intelligence while moving the ball forward for progressive issues.  She was so grateful to have been able to depend upon her yoga practices and experience teaching children and young people as well as the teachings of Katie Hendricks and Marianne Williamson to support her during her time in office.  She looks forward to continuing to serve her community and the planet. Are we mass, energy or space? That's the question many have pondered time and time again. The answer: we're all 3 at the same time.  We are not just bodies of mass, though we feel the weight of our flesh, the solidity of our bones. Beneath this, there is a huge symphonic panorama inside of us, and when we tap into it, we can experience true healing and freedom. Often we focus on the mass aspect of existence, but the energetic aspect has a lot more power.  The ever-shifting flow of energy that rises and falls within us expresses itself as emotion, movement, and sensation. The rush of excitement, the pang of sorrow, the heaviness of grief—these are all movements of energy that can shape our physical experience. Beyond the mass of our bodies and the energy within, there is space. When we tap into that space, we find a sense of peace, a realization that we are not just our thoughts or emotions, but something much greater. How do we access space and energy? How do we stop identifying with the fluctuations of energy and start identifying with the space that holds it?  In this episode, we're joined by Gay Hendricks to talk about the power of mass, energy, and space, and how to stop living from the surface, but from the deeper, expansive place within us.    Things You'll Learn In This Episode  - Getting unstuck from your body traumas  The mass that is our body is a repository of personal and generational grief and trauma. How does energy and space heal all of these things?     - From repression to release We all possess within us an energy that flows freely. What are some of the things that compress this energy or misuse it?   - Learn to be with fear One way humans do away with fear is trying to control everything. Why is letting go of control a necessary step to tapping into the expansive space with us? There are 3 spots left in my mastermind! Grab your spot! Building a business is about more than just making money. It should also bring you joy, fulfillment, and alignment with your values. Last year I found myself overwhelmed, burnt out, and disconnected from the passion that led me to start their business. Let's explore how to shift your energy, streamline your workload, and create a business that truly supports your well-being. The first step is awareness. How do you feel when you're working? Are there tasks that excite you, and others that drain you? Notice where stress shows up in your body. Do you feel tension in your chest when tackling certain tasks? Do you get anxious before meetings or deadlines? Are you excited about some projects but dreading others? When you recognize what's causing stress or anxiety, you can take action. Can you outsource tasks that drain you? Can you restructure your schedule to include more of what energizes you? Identifying these patterns is the key to building a sustainable and fulfilling business. Are you constantly thinking about your business, even in your free time? Ask yourself: What's causing me the most stress right now? Are financial pressures making my business feel heavy? Do I have too many commitments that don't align with my goals? Am I lacking clarity on my next steps? Once you pinpoint the biggest sources of stress, brainstorm solutions. Whether it's simplifying your offers, adjusting your pricing, or streamlining your systems, small changes can lead to big relief. Entrepreneur and author Gay Hendricks, in The Big Leap, talks about the importance of spending time in your Zone of Genius—the work that feels effortless and exciting for you. Instead of getting stuck in tasks you're merely competent at, strive to spend more time doing what lights you up. Some questions to consider: When does work not feel like work? What tasks make you feel energized rather than drained? Can you delegate or eliminate work that isn't in your zone of genius? Focusing on your unique strengths and passions will make your business feel less like a grind and more like a creative, fulfilling endeavor. Your productivity and energy levels fluctuate throughout the month and day. Instead of forcing yourself to be “on” all the time, honor your natural cycles. For example, if you notice that certain phases of your cycle (or times of the day) make you feel sluggish or unmotivated, avoid scheduling high-energy tasks during those periods. Instead, batch creative work when you're feeling inspired and schedule admin tasks for lower-energy times. If you struggle with hormonal shifts that impact your mood and focus, consider structuring your business in a way that allows for more flexibility. This could mean: Limiting client calls during low-energy phases Scheduling deep work sessions during high-focus times Giving yourself permission to rest without guilt Your business should support your well-being, not deplete it. If you're feeling uninspired, it might be time to reconnect with activities outside of work. Hobbies and creative outlets fuel joy, and they can even make you more productive in your business. Think back to what you loved as a kid or teenager. Were you into photography, music, writing, or crafting? Have you stopped doing those things because you feel like they're “not productive”? How are you spending your time outside of work? If you find yourself endlessly scrolling social media, constantly feeling the need to “be productive,” or neglecting self-care, it's time to reassess. Instead of doom-scrolling, try: Taking a walk outside Meditating or praying Reading a book Doing a hands-on hobby like crocheting or baking I'd love to hear how you bring joy into your business! Ready to break through your upper limit and step into your next level of success? Join my Break Through Your Financial Upper Limit Workshop to clear your blocks and unlock abundance. Grab your spot now! https://www.marleyrose.ca/upper-limit In this episode, I'm diving deep into the concept of the upper limit, inspired by Gay Hendricks' life-changing book, The Big Leap. While this book explains why upper limits happen and how they show up in our lives, it doesn't give us the tools to move past them—and that's where I come in. I'll break down what upper limits are, why they hold us back, and, most importantly, share actionable strategies to overcome them. If you've been feeling stuck in your body, relationships, finances, or career, this episode will show you how to push past those invisible ceilings and expand into your fullest potential. Topics Covered: What is an upper limit and how does it show up in your life? The 8 areas of life impacted by upper limits: body, mind, relationships, family, soul purpose, money, pleasure, and play. The 4 hidden barriers of the upper limit: Why self-sabotage is a response to stepping outside your comfort zone. Real-life examples of upper limits in body, relationships, and money. My personal experience with breaking through upper limits. Action-Oriented Episode Focus: Clear limiting beliefs: Identify and release the hidden barriers holding you back (learn more in the workshop). Regulate your nervous system: Use deep belly breathing to calm the fear that arises when you're expanding. Find expanders: Look for people who've achieved what you desire to show your brain that it's safe and possible. Normalize your next level: Treat big goals as no big deal to reduce the perceived threat. Visualize your future reality: Spend 5-10 minutes daily feeling the emotions of living your dream life. Let's Make Sense of the Big Leap by Gay Hendricks. Come read a book a week with me. This is a new format by Dr. JC Doornick "The Dragon" where we take one book a week from the vault, and give you a sub 30 minute synopisis witb its primary lessons and major takeaways.  In The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks, its basic premise uncovers how individuals can navigate and break through their internal barriers to achieve greater levels of success, love, and fulfillment. He introduces concepts of the “Upper Limit Problem”, which is a self-imposed limit that holds people back from living from their "Zone of Genius" or state of maximum creativity and fulfillment. The key distinction there is the reference to the self imposed nature of the upper limit problem. Hendricks argues that by identifying and overcoming these limits, anyone can make the "big leap" to lasting happiness and success. So there it is, its title “The Big Leap” refers to that breakthrough and shift from ordinary to extraordinary. On a personal note, i like his methodology and strategy as it lends well to that of my own IRS (Interface Response System) which is a four step process that begins with identifying our self imposed limitations by way of how our brain has been persuaded and programmed by our MFTPSE (Mother, Father, Teacher, Preacher, Society and Evolution) - I reference the Big Leap in my upcoming book “Makes Sense” in the same way i reference the science of the Flow State and created the IRS after identifying a few missing pieces in these models that would still get people hung up.    Important: I encourage you all to read these books or listen to them on Audible. 60 million Americans are affected by mental health issues. One in five will experience mental health issues within a given year, according to the National Institute of Mental Health. The good news is: you don't have to stay stuck, sad, lonely, frustrated. You don't have to feel useless or lost. The pain of that will pass - and it may pass quicker than you think. I've known Dr. Joan Rosenberg for 15 years. When I am in a rut, or I feel stagnant or stuck, I talk to her. She is a bestselling author and a captivating public speaker, an all around amazing person who is excellent at what she does. Joan offers an essential tool and 4 step framework I think will be beneficial for your entrepreneurial mental health toolkit. The 90-Second Rule: Bodily sensations associated with difficult feelings are often what we try to avoid. But, we can lean into them, accept that it will pass in 90 seconds or less, and then we experience them more fully and move through them.Express Authentic Emotions. Both Dr. Rosenberg and Gay Hendricks stress that suppressing or "transmuting" emotions, such as masking sadness or disappointment with anger, can be detrimental. Gay shares that one of his clients experienced a huge breakthrough when he was able to acknowledge the source of his anger. It takes strength to ask for help and acknowledge limitations. Success is rarely achieved alone.  Even the military prioritizes assessing needs and limitations and calling for support when necessary. Embrace vulnerability and build the support systems necessary to go the distance! Not only is Joan a brilliant psychologist, she's a bestselling author, and a captivating public speaker. In 2022, from the outside looking in you might think Vija Williams had it all. A successful real estate career that wasn't just growing but thriving.  A beautiful family.  Dreams that were coming true.  But what wasn't true is that narrative. Vija's weight had skyrocketed to over 235 pounds. Her health wasn't what it use to be. It was like she didn't notice what was happening and maintained a skewed view of who she was and what she could accomplish. She signed up for not one, but two marathons that fall. When she brushed off her training, her coach told her she had an “Upper Limit problem”.  This concept of an “Upper Limit Problem” comes from a book, Big Leap by Gae Hendrick. It's the idea that people set internal limits on how much success, happiness, and love they deserve. When you experience something great, like a promotion or a financial windfall, (or a blossoming real estate career) you subconsciously invite negative thoughts to bring yourself back down to a more comfortable level of happiness. At Vija's first marathon in Patagonia she made it just over half way before being pulled off the course.  A few months later in New York City and only 100 yards from where her daughter stood cheering for her mom from the sidelines, Vija hid herself and walked off the course.  Something had to change. Vija had to change.   Subscribe to the 29029 Podcast for more inspiring content. Learn more about 29029 Events and our community HERE
