Guys we can't believe it! We're almost wrapping up our three month stay/quarantine/etc in Koh Phangan, Thailand. We stumbled upon this magical island by chance and it has been a great part of our journey. In this episode, we give you a run down of the island and what it's like to live here. Not going to lie, we lose our minds a little bit in this episode. But that's ok because it's kind of what's happening, in general, in the world right now. We're so grateful to this city, its people, and digital nomad culture for helping us make Medellin our home for nearly two months. In episode 11, Abhi and Gabrielle are joined by Sofia Lindman, an inspiring digital nomad who has always believed in going against the status quo and creating her own path.  Join us as we discuss female empowerment, the uncomfortable nature of change, and the mindset needed to disrupt yourself. Sofia discusses how she knew she wasn't destined for a "normal life" as well as the experiences and challenges she faced in order to create that life for herself. Sofia has never held a traditional 9-5. At the age of 15, Sofia dropped out of school to pursue a mission of starting rap choirs for girls to inspire female empowerment in the rap music industry. She then went on to found a company called GeniusRAP, which has been supported by Timbuktu and Wu-Tang Clan.  Her early entry into entrepreneurship exposed her to the location-independent lifestyle. We are so excited to welcome Annette and Daniel to the show. This incredible couple is a great example of two people who were willing to do WHATEVER it took to live their dreams. Shortly after their wedding, Annette and Daniel realized how miserable they were at their 9-5 jobs. They experienced several "last straws" when it came to their working lives until they finally decided to pull the plug and chase THEIR adventure on THEIR terms. They sold literally everything they owned in exchange for some camera equipment and departed on a way-one ticket to Bangkok in June 2018. Now, a year and a half later, Annette and Daniel run a youtube channel with millions of views and thousands of subscribers. Create the business you've always wanted to? Discover what you really want to do? Can I do my exact job somewhere else? Can you negotiate a remote working arrangement with your current job? (Check out CH. 12 in The Four Hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss) Can you find a remote job doing exactly what you do but for a different company (check out Remote.Co) Teach English Locally or Online If nothing comes to mind, time to ask yourself: what can you do/sell/provide on your own? Make a list of the things you're good at (ie skills, thought processes, etc.) Make a list of the things you love Decide where the lists overlap Think about how you could parlay that into a "buyable" product or service? How can you do this in a way that doesn't exist? How could you replicated it? How can you manifest your product or service? Is there anybody from your existing network you could talk to? Set up a Freelance profile (be sure to make it unique to you) Start your own business Main takeaways: Be Patient Think outside the box, nobody else thinks the way you do! What can you offer people?
