This week on Conversations of Inspiration Holly meets Alan Keery, co-founder of The Cereal Killer Cafe in their awe-inspiring cafe on Brick Lane. From ignoring the naysayers when launching a niche business to gaining media attention from day one and dealing with a completely overwhelming media frenzy when they were targeted with attacks during the London riots, the Cereal Killer Cafe have been on an extraordinary journey in the last 4 years. They have now overcome that to be the feature of a London musical as well as scaling the business to have a global presence! Recorded in an immersive cafe, where retail theatre is brought to life in the very truest sense of the word, Alan's kindness, generosity and honesty with which he recounts the most difficult moments along the journey, make this podcast a fascinating listen. So when the boys do business meetings... they do them well... They made the trip to the Cereal Killer Cafe in Camden, London. obviously confessing our obsession with cereal many times this place is a dream. Dan has a rant on squat depth... tom trys to give an analytical view.... we also talk pull ups? what exercises are harder when your in a calorie surplus?! And 6 figure fit pros have not gone away......
The boys were lucky enough to get an hour with Alan to talk about cereal, the healthy (ok, totally not healthy) cornerstone to many of our childhoods. They go through Alan's top 5, try them all, get sugar rushes but somehow manage to chat about their own favorites and the story behind Cereal Killer which somehow became somewhat controversial...would you believe people have rioted outside the shop? Well they have. Listen in to find out if it was all just over spilt milk. (sorry)Great ideas are born in the strangest of places. For Alan and Gary Keery it was whilst sat nursing a hangover that they came up with an idea for a place that served cereal exclusively. That idea became an obsession and now Cereal Killer Cafe's are opening up all across the world.....If you like retro breakfast cereal or want to try the new hotness...we'll just leave this here:http://www.cerealkillercafe.co.uk/ See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Andrew & Fiona have the longest intro they've done, followed by a run-down of some hip(ster) places in East London. Did you want breakfast or a cocktail? They cover both those things. Just don't expect anything about lunch or dinner. Fun drinking game - a shot every time they use the word "hipster". You may be dead by the end of the podcast, but you'll have had fun.
In which Juliet Harris & Terence Dackombe review the week: the Cereal Killer Cafe - was it a fair target for the protesters? Why are English clubs doing SO badly in the Champions League? We review two new publications - Louder Than War magazine, and Morrissey's List Of The Lost. Plus - four great tracks of music.
