This week, we close out our Genesis series by studying Genesis 38:11-30 under the theme “A Mother of Jesus.” The shocking story of Judah and Tamar reminds us that, far from warm fuzzy feelings and twinkling lights, Christmas is really about how God broke through humanity's mess into this world as a Savior.Series Summary: Our fall worship series will lead us through the Book of Genesis, arguably the most profound, insightful text in human history. Over this series, we'll uncover how the narratives of Genesis reveal God's design for creation, humanity, relationships, and purpose. We'll explore truths that continue to shape our lives today, from the Garden of Eden to the promise of redemption.Add St. Marcus as your church on the Church Center App!Fill out our online connection cardHow can we pray for you? If you know your faith, you'll be strong in your faith -- but only if you "do" your faith. The intent, the goal of this series is to enable you -- and me -- to know our faith, to be strong in our faith, and to "do" our faith. Then, we'll understand how and why some of the most influential Christians who have ever lived: Augustine, John Crysostom, Martin Luther, John Wesley among them -- so highly extolled Paul's Letter to the Romans!
A Heart after God Bible Teaching Ministry with Pastor Brad Abley
We might call this the second part of my introduction to our series in Romans -- much-needed due to the awesome depth of this book.In fact, the great poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge called Romans “the most profound work in existence.” The goal is simple: If you know your faith, you'll be strong in your faith -- but only if you "do" your faith (and I include myself).
The Dallas Stars steamroll the Anaheim Ducks 8–3 in a game that felt dominant, strange, and completely unhinged. Ryan Chambers breaks down a late-night Stars win that featured constant Ducks turnovers, Jason Robertson asserting himself as that guy, elite special teams, and Dallas never letting the chaos turn into danger. It wasn't pretty — but it was decisive. This episode covers: Robertson's statement game and contract-year dominance Dallas capitalizing on every Anaheim mistake Why this game was weird without ever being close Depth scoring all over the lineup Casey DeSmith doing exactly what a great backup does The dangerous Frank Vatrano incident and why it crossed the line The Stars keep stacking wins, manage minutes smartly, and stay right in the Central Division race. Kerry Wisnosky believes the future of space power will be decided by maneuverability. As satellites remain largely static, Quantum Space is building the infrastructure to move, persist, and operate across orbits, from LEO to cislunar space. The company is developing Ranger, a six-metric-ton, high-delta-V spacecraft designed to operate for up to 15 years, host and deploy payloads, maneuver freely between orbits, and function as a refueling node. By combining chemical and electric propulsion into a single multimode system, Quantum aims to deliver both high-impulse mobility and long-duration efficiency—turning spacecraft from disposable assets into persistent infrastructure.Inside the episode:Why space remains a static domain and why maneuverability is the next decisive advantageHow Ranger reframes satellites from disposable assets into long-lived infrastructureThe strategic importance of fuel in orbit and why refueling changes mission economicsWhy multimode propulsion is the “holy grail” for mobility across orbitsHow life extension in GEO becomes the first commercial wedgeWhat zone defense in space could mean for missile defense architecturesWhy Quantum was early to the market and why demand is finally catching up • Chapters •00:00 – Intro00:45 – From Millennium to Quantum Space02:56 – Key products at Millennium03:57 – Evolution of Quantum's vision over the years06:34 – Ranger13:41 – 15 years of operational life16:22 – Acquiring Phase Four22:25 – Orbital mobility23:37 – Ranger doubling as a fuel depot25:51 – Target customers for Ranger30:52 – Interceptors in space for Golden Dome33:52 – Quantum Space's competitive edge35:27 – Are other maneuverability companies viewing the problem the wrong way?37:18 – Quantum Space's launches39:24 – What does success look like for Quantum's first Ranger mission?40:21 – Scaling and manufacturing43:53 – Why should talent work at Quantum?45:14 – Quantum Space in 5 years47:35 – What did Kerry not expect while building Quantum?48:49 – When is Quantum's next launch? • Show notes •Quantum Space's website — https://www.quantumspace.us/Mo's socials — https://twitter.com/itsmoislamPayload's socials — https://twitter.com/payloadspace / https://www.linkedin.com/company/payloadspaceIgnition's socials — https://twitter.com/ignitionnuclear / https://www.linkedin.com/company/ignition-nuclear/Tectonic's socials — https://twitter.com/tectonicdefense / https://www.linkedin.com/company/tectonicdefense/Valley of Depth archive — Listen: https://pod.payloadspace.com/ • About us •Valley of Depth is a podcast about the technologies that matter — and the people building them. In today's fast-paced world, women often find themselves at a crossroads, grappling with their professional identities and the desire for personal growth. In this candid conversation, Monique discusses the societal pressures that often keep women tethered to outdated identities and the necessity of forging authentic connections that foster growth and transformation. Her message serves as a reminder that change is possible, and with the right support, women can achieve their dreams and redefine success on their own terms.Tune in to discover how to reclaim your worth, embrace your agency, and build meaningful relationships that support your growth.GEMS DROPPED“I do believe that we all should own something. It does not matter if you work full time and you are a corporate baddie. You are busting down doors and climbing all the ladders… I do believe that we should all own something.”“You need to actually take the reins of your own story and be able to not only build it, but speak about it and move in it. To actually exist in this new identity.”“Transformation is a choice, but it's also a result of relationships. You're not going to find transformation by reading a book. You're not. You might find a spark that leads you down a path towards growth and development and transformation, but information is not transformation. Information in and of itself, does not mean that you have actually made meaning of it. And I know that as we endeavor to make big changes in our world and big changes in our life that if we continue to exist only in shallow spaces, then we are missing out on the transformation.”“I know when I feel like I'm down in the dumps about something and I'm doing that thing where it's like, well, I just need to do better. I'm just not enough. I'm not doing enough of the things. I gotta push harder. I just need to pull myself up by my bootstraps. All that bs. We self isolate as well. It puts you in this sort of self fulfilling cycle of the thing that you need most, which is the degree of support that you are not getting from the outside through an aligned community. When you don't do it, it just leads you to further and further self isolation and shame.”“Depth [in relationships] is about alignment and a mutual willingness to continuously reach for realignment and overlap and ways in which to know each other more and to create more and more permission to know each other.”"When you've got the passion, the ideas, the access and the networks, but you still won't move. That's your signal. It's not you. There's nothing else that you're lacking…Stop blaming yourself. … There is something about your environment, your community, the systems that exist around you, or don't exist around you. That is what is lacking. And so you have to solve for those things with the resources that you have.”“'I've shouted from the rooftops that this is how we have to move in the society that exists around us. This is how we have to move. You cannot be passive with this. You cannot be wishing upon a star and hoping. This is not a time for just being hopeful. You gotta take action and use what you have to get what you want.”STAY IN TOUCHCome and follow me on Instagram @moniquershields and I would love your feedback so send an email to ambition@moniquershields.com.
Chelsea are through to the Carabao Cup Semi Final after a 3-1 win over Cardiff City, but it wasn't straightforward. Manny and Simon review a poor first half from a heavily rotated side, before Enzo Maresca's substitutions turned the game around and ultimately won it for the Blues. The hosts dive into a growing concern — Chelsea's backup players simply aren't good enough right now, leaving Maresca in an almost impossible situation when rotation is required. They also revisit Maresca's post-Everton press conference, where his comments appeared to be aimed directly at the club hierarchy, raising bigger questions about squad planning and support. Finally, attention turns to a huge Premier League test away at Newcastle on Saturday. Can Chelsea take this momentum into one of the toughest away grounds in the league?

SUMMARY In this conversation, Steve Pearlman discusses the principles of martial arts, emphasizing the importance of understanding Newton's third law of motion and how it applies to martial arts training. He shares his experiences of training, the joy of community, and the role of humor in martial arts. The discussion also covers the evolution of training perspectives, the significance of confidence over mere skills in self-defense, and the philosophical approach to avoiding fights. Pearlman reflects on his journey from being a technique collector to understanding deeper principles and theories in martial arts, highlighting the impact of cross-training on his understanding of the art. Pearlman also discusses the journey of writing about martial arts, the need for a comprehensive martial arts canon, and the significance of community within the martial arts world. The dialogue highlights the unique nature of martial artists as individuals who engage in selfless acts for the growth of others, fostering a deeper understanding of their craft. TAKEAWAYS Newton's third law of motion applies to martial arts. Training should be enjoyable and community-oriented. Early training can be serious, but it evolves over time. Training should focus on principles, not just techniques. Cross-training reveals universal principles across martial arts. Understanding body movement is crucial in martial arts. Theoretical knowledge must translate into practical skills. Depth in training is more beneficial than surface-level exposure. Finding a good teacher and system is essential for growth. Principles should guide martial arts practice rather than just styles. The martial arts community lacks a definitive text akin to 'The Art of War.' Episode 217 of The Adventure Podcast features photographer, IFMGA guide, writer and artist, Ben Tibbetts. In this episode, Matt sits down with Ben to explore a life shaped by isolation, long-term creative projects, and a deep need for structure in the wild. The conversation begins with Ben's 18 months living and working in Antarctica, which quietly rewired how he thinks about solitude, landscape, and meaning. That experience sparked an enduring obsession with small huts in remote places, and ultimately led to years-long projects photographing bivouac huts and high mountain environments across the Alps. Ben also explains why he needs projects, the discipline behind producing large-format books, the thousands of hours of unseen work, and why these projects make little financial sense but enormous personal sense. They touch on modern creativity, the 'junk food' nature of clickbait content, changing industry, and the quiet rebellion of stepping away to make work that lasts. Statement win sets up a pivotal Week 15 The Detroit Lions are back in the win column. A Thursday night win over the Cowboys steadied the season and kept the heat off. The offense looked like itself again. The defense forced turnovers, hit Dak Prescott, and finished plays with sacks. That combination travels in the NFL, and it mattered here. An in-game twist changed the shape of Dallas' attack. CeeDee Lamb exited, and the Cowboys struggled to land counters without their top weapon. Detroit seized control with pressure and opportunism. The front won early downs. Short fields and extra possessions followed. The result pushed the Lions forward and put a dent in Dallas' postseason hopes. The Detroit Lions Podcast framed it like a play-in vibe. Not literally, with four games left, but close. A crisis averted. A win that reset the pulse and moved focus to Week 15 versus the Rams. Secondary in flux after Branch's Achilles The price was heavy. Branch suffered an Achilles injury. It's brutal, not only for his talent but his versatility. He can trigger downhill, play single high, rotate as a split safety, and man up in the slot. That toolbox is hard to replace on the back end. Safety remains unsettled. There is doubt about a Kirby Joseph return. The room has seen looks at veterans such as Jalen Mills and Damontae Kazee. Avonte Maddox appears first in line for more work. He flashed against Dallas. He closed space, nearly stole a pick, and read routes with confidence. One chest-high deflection could have been six the other way. Another break on a tight end route forced a modest gain instead of a chunk. Depth took more hits. Thomas Harper is in concussion protocol after a scary moment. That leaves Detroit balancing personnel with structure. There is a path here. Earlier this season, a shorthanded group versus Washington leaned into more zone concepts. It wasn't simple, but it fit the lineup and looked sharp. With DJ Reed and Terrion Arnold back, the defense leaned heavily on man coverage again. That works if quick pressure arrives. Without it, the risk spikes. The question now: blend? Dial up zone on early downs, sprinkle man on money downs, and let the rush dictate. With Branch out, the call sheet must protect leverage and angles while keeping the pass rush connected to coverage. What travels to Rams week Week 15 brings the Rams and a fresh stress test. Detroit's pass rush just changed a game. It needs to do it again. Turnovers fueled the win over Dallas. They must show up on the road. The coverage plan is the hinge. Maddox's snaps matter. Reed and Arnold's technique and eye discipline matter. So does tackling after the catch. The formula is clear. Start fast. Hit the quarterback. Win takeaways. Keep the secondary out of isolation for long stretches. Do that, and the Detroit Lions keep stacking wins in December. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5_BozdF7ac #detroitlions #lions #detroitlionspodcast #dakprescott #ceedeelamb #week15atrams #brianbranchachilles #kirbyjoseph #jalenmills #damontaekazee #avontemaddox #djreed #terrionarnold Learn more about your ad choices.
