If you've ever been hit by a flying beer at a concert, congratulations — you're basically living inside today's episode of The Rizzuto Show comedy podcast. The gang kicks things off with one of the most ridiculous concert stories we've heard in a while. A dad takes his daughter to see Jason Aldean thinking he's about to create a wholesome father-daughter core memory. Instead? Someone launches a full unopened beer can across the crowd like it's a Tom Brady pass. The can nails him in the back of the head, knocks him out cold, and sends him to the hospital with serious injuries. Now there's a lawsuit against Live Nation and the venue, and the argument is pretty wild: if the beer had been poured into plastic cups, maybe nobody ends up needing brain surgery. Concert chaos, lawsuits, and the eternal question — why can't people behave for two hours at a show? From there, the conversation spirals into the ridiculous things fans throw at concerts. Lawn chairs flying over walls, water bottles filled with gravel, glow sticks becoming accidental weapons… basically proof that crowds plus alcohol equals “bad ideas Olympics.”Then things get spicy when leaked internal messages from Live Nation employees reveal them joking about squeezing fans for parking money. Charging $250 for VIP parking and laughing about it? Yeah… not the best look.Of course it wouldn't be a proper comedy podcast episode without some celebrity chaos. Morrissey cancels yet another show — this time because his hotel was too loud and he couldn't sleep. According to him, the experience was “indescribable hell” and he may need a year to recover. The crew has thoughts. A lot of thoughts.Later in Crap on Celebrities, the gang talks Gene Simmons allegedly licking Adam Sandler on stage (because of course he did), new music releases, and the return of Steve Martin and Martin Short to the stage. Then things get awesome when Kids in the Hall legend Kevin McDonald joins the show in studio. He shares stories about Seinfeld calling him the wrong name all week, recording Pleakley in Lilo & Stitch, and the bizarre dream that made him stop eating chicken forever. Yes, it involves a giant talking chicken politely asking him to stop eating its friends. It's another day of weird news, celebrity nonsense, and total studio chaos — exactly what you'd expect from a daily comedy podcast coming straight out of St. Louis.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Happy Regular Guy Friday, Heal Squad! This episode starts with Morrissey nostalgia, music memories from the MTV era, and a Kev-on-the-Scene story about meeting Morrissey that quickly turns into a lesson about confidence, credibility, and how you approach people in life. From there we get into a fascinating experiment about perception…how people often see exactly what they expect to see and why adopting a victim mindset can quietly shape the reality you experience. Kev shares a few Boston stories along the way, from mob figures to tough bosses, all landing on the same realization: even the roughest people usually have a moment of humanity somewhere in them. Perception, perspective, and the reminder that what you look for in the world… you often find. Bye Betches!

Josh Morrissey returned to the lineup Saturday night at Canada Life Centre after missing time with an injury suffered during the Olympics, and he made an immediate impact in the Winnipeg Jets 3–2 overtime win over the Vancouver Canucks. Morrissey scored the game-winner in the extra frame and also picked up an assist on Gabriel Vilardi's late goal that forced overtime. Those two points moved Morrissey past Dustin Byfuglien on the Jets' all-time franchise list for points by a defenseman, giving him 417. So, it begs the question: who would you rather have on your team -- Morrissey or Byfuglien? The guys give their thoughts and ask you, the listener, to weigh in. Also, has the path to the postseason actually opened up for the Jets? Cam has crunched the numbers, and if things continue the way they have since returning from the Olympic break, Winnipeg could find itself back in the playoff picture. The margins, however, are razor thin, and there are no guarantees teams like the Los Angeles Kings, Nashville Predators, Seattle Kraken, and San Jose Sharks won't find another gear -- especially with several head-to-head matchups still to come. How many points can the Jets realistically afford to give up over their final 20 games? All that and more on today's edition of Jets at Noon. Learn more about your ad choices. Send us a message, so we know what you're thinking! When we watch movies & shows at the movies or, increasingly, on TV, the soundtrack is ever-present to set the mood and enhance the story. But we never stop to consider its' role, how it's changed over the years, and how it interacts with other elements, such as the title sequence. This episode we look at how the use of soundtracks has changed over the last 30 or more years and consider some very creative soundtracks! In Rock News, we look at The Hollywood Vampires, Cyndi Lauper, Deep Purple, David Lee Roth and Devo, who are all heading out on the road, while the latest fad out of the US is Lollipop Star, a sweet that plays a tune as you suck it! "A lot of women feel as though this is 'my role, this is my job, and if I have to ask for help, there's something wrong with me.' It doesn't mean failure. It just means that you're taking care of yourself as well as your loved ones." - Laura Lynn Morrissey Our hosts, Stephanie McCullough and Kevin Gaines, sit down with Laura Lynn Morrissey, founder of Silver Savvy. She brings a unique perspective, combining two decades at Fidelity Investments with hands-on experience building and selling home care companies in Boston! Laura Lynn's journey into senior care began while simultaneously climbing the corporate ladder and serving as a caregiver for her mother since age seven. Through both experiences, she learned the magic of putting clients first and treating aging individuals with dignity. She discovered that many professionals would direct conversations to family members while ignoring the person actually receiving care. That's a dynamic she intentionally reversed in her own practice. The centerpiece of her work is life care planning, a comprehensive approach treating the aging process as thoughtfully as planning a wedding or college education. This framework examines seven key areas: purposeful living, lifelong learning, social connections, healthcare planning, financial confidence, exercise routines, and home safety. Most homes aren't built for aging, and simple issues like losing ankle mobility can cascade into dangerous falls. She also talks long-term care insurance, revealing surprising complexities most policyholders don't understand. The elimination period (essentially a deductible) requires paying out-of-pocket for 30-120 days before benefits begin. It's a shock to many families expecting immediate coverage. Laura Lynn stresses the importance of honest assessments, noting that proud individuals often minimize their limitations during evaluations, potentially jeopardizing their claims. With physician shortages looming and assisted living facilities facing two-to-three-year waitlists, Laura Lynn advocates for proactive planning before emergencies strike. Her advocacy services include filing claims, coordinating with doctors, preparing clients for assessments, and writing follow-up letters clarifying what proud individuals might downplay during evaluations. Is the Alamo Drafthouse a thing of the past? At the fancy theater where you can drink booze and eat a full meal, they’re now asking customers to order food on their phone rather than through a human. It’s New Music Friday with “The Voice” producer Jake Primavera! First up, it’s new music from Charlie Puth. The Muppets are back and the show hasn’t changed for 50 years — here’s why that’s a good thing! We listen to Morrissey’s fabulous new song “Notre Dame.” We’ve got Solo to Solo, Bass Edition! Listeners call in to guess the isolated bass solo that Andy plays on air. How musical are you?See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
What if I told you that the secret to happiness was to pay more attention to the times when life absolutely sucks? How can that make sense? Everything I scroll past berates me with a message about finding happiness, treating myself, pushing me to constantly be seek out the good at all costs. While it’s absolutely important to discover and nurture those things that make life pleasurable and even tolerable, my guest today argues that we also need to also sit with and even embrace misery to truly appreciate what makes life great. Eamon Evans is a prolific author, writing 15 books on everything from sport to crime, urban legends and great Aussie scandals. His latest book, The Importance of Being Miserable: A Short History of Human Happiness, and Why Sometimes It's Good to Feel Bad, challenges the notion that life should always be good, happy and sparkly; and suggests that negative emotions have been historically important, and still are.Today, Eamon unpacks the fantasy we’ve been sold over the years - that happiness is something you can achieve, lock in, and never lose, and argues that, ironically, chasing it might actually be what’s making us miserable. Fear not, Eamon is hilarious and delivers his message in a coating of laughter and delicious irony - so he’s able to get the idea across incredibly well. He's even written a book about it, "The Importance of Being Miserable". Now that I think about it, the title of the book might just be the closest thing that's ever got me to understanding why Morrissey exists. Kanye West and Kim Kardashian were never just a couple they were a full-blown cultural event. From Paris Fashion Week to reality TV, Instagram meltdowns and frequent attempts to break the internet, their relationship blurred the line between love story, brand strategy and performance art. But how did two people from such different worlds become the defining celebrity power couple of the 2010s? This week on The Way They Were, Gráinne Maguire and Chantal Feduchin-Pate are joined by journalist and pop-culture encyclopaedia Tracie Egan Morrissey to unpack the rise and fall of Kimye. There's a lot to get through because the lore runs deep, the details matter, and nothing about this relationship was ever simple. To get episodes ad free and early, join us our Patreon: patreon.com/TheWayTheyWere You can also access our exclusive bonus episodes every other week and take part in The Gossip our exclusive Patreon group chat!
