The Paranormal Activity franchise is a series of found-footage horror films. The films follow the haunting of various families by a demonic presence. Later installments brought in the addition of an all-female cult that worships the demon. The demon usually focuses on one person in the family that it haunts and possesses that individual to make them kill everyone else in the house before being taken away by the cult. Each subsequent film answers questions that arose from the previous ones. They all form connections that create a bigger picture that has yet to be completely revealed. Series writer, producer, and director Christopher B. Landon has stated that an end-game for the series has already been planned and that it would take only a few more films to wrap up the Paranormal Activity storyline. He talks about how he first got into genre filmmaking, his experiences writing the Paranormal Activity films, and shares insight into where things could go for the Happy Death Day sequel.
