Fast forward to the year 2000. One day in the year 2000, D'von had gone on a camping trip with a group of his friends and their families at Lake Arcadia, which is northeast of Oklahoma City. The night they got there, D'von decided to explore the area around the lake, to see what was out there. He was hoping to find something interesting on that walk. Tonight's guest, Athena, lives on a very old farm, that's backed by ancient woodlands, in North Wales, in the U.K. Due to how old her farm is, there are some good things that come along with that and some bad. One of the bad things she and her family members have had to deal with is a presence of paranormal entities that have made all of their lives more interesting than what they would prefer. Another thing she's had to learn to deal with is the presence of Dogmen that make their presence known too often for Athena's liking. Unfortunately, when it comes to Dogman encounters, Athena got an early start. You see, she had her first Dogman encounter when she was only 16 years old. It happened late one night when there was a full moon out. That encounter was, by far and away, the most traumatic encounter she's had with a Dogman due, in large part, to where it happened. She was in her own bed, at the time. The one place where you should feel safer than any other. What made that encounter even more traumatic was what the Dogman did after she saw it. We start this week in New Zealand where a man goes ghost hunting in the supposedly very haunted former Napier Prison. Did he have an intense encounter with building's most infamous spirit?  Then, Dan shares three smaller tales:  first involves two people hanging out alone in a park at night,  having a very strange, dangerous, and disturbing encounter.  Then we get a creepy baby monitor story. It's posting on social media about what you're working on or something you've thought about that can help others. Whatever it is, it's one simple step. This is what I have to keep reminding myself of and also remembering how I feel when I hit send on that email or post to social media. On this week's podcast, Elizabeth and I talk about the importance of “doing it scared.” There will be so many moments along the way when you'll want to hesitate. Tonight's first guest, Heather, grew up in a very rural part of Central Louisiana. She grew up hunting, so she's always loved the outdoors. When the COVID lockdowns happened, to help pass the time, Heather decided to look into the Sasquatch phenomenon. Not long after she started to armchair research, she hooked up with a group of ladies who were interested in Sasquatch too. It wasn't long after that that Heather started doing field investigations with those ladies that spanned several states. Up until that point, Heather was interested in Sasquatch but what really piqued her interest in them was the day she found a set of Sasquatch prints in the Kisatchie National Forest. After finding them, she was absolutely hooked. On tonight's show, Heather is going to share multiple Sasquatch-related experiences she's had, since then. When she had her sighting, she was driving down a country road, about 4 miles from town, in Southeastern Oklahoma. You see, her mother was in the passenger seat because she was trying to get Angela used to driving at night. As Angela learned that night, other drivers and deer aren't the only things you have to watch out for on country roads, after dark. It was a lesson she'll never forget. The Sasquatch she saw that night wasn't the only Sasquatch she's seen. She had another sighting.
