Tonight's guest, Brett Ford, had two encounters with what some people would call Bearwolves, while he and his family were visiting Newfoundland, last summer. The encounters happened in fairly quick succession, on the same night, which makes Brett think they were connected somehow. The two Bearwolves/Dogmen he saw were definitely different creatures, as they looked different from one another. The first one he saw, near Cornerbrook, Newfoundland, had more of an athletic build. The second one he saw was clearly more muscular and had a much more imposing presence to it. What happened the night he had those encounters? A burglar hiding in the closet of an elderly woman's house watches a ghostly old man pat a departing paramedic on the back, then feels breath on the neck and a voice ordering the intruder out. Middle-schoolers creeping through their darkened school are warned off by a voice none of them claims, and they avoid a library that proved to be wired with a silent alarm and motion detectors. In California, a fourteen-year-old abandons a car-theft job a mile from the pickup, spooked by a rising sense of dread, and later learns the vehicle was bait in a police sting that swept up everyone else sent after it. A pickpocket lifts a wallet clean off a stranger, only for the man — blind, sunglasses raised — to calmly ask for it back. Threaded among them are a blown tire that derails a despairing teenager's suicide plan, church doors that lock the instant two thieves reach for them, and a Hobby Lobby shopper whose five stolen pieces of balsa wood seem to trail straight to a table saw and a flesh-eating MRSA infection.From there the episode turns to a listener named Atreada, who shared a room and a bed with her older sister in SunRay, Texas. For a week the bed shook hard enough to slam against the wall and wake the whole house, blamed each night on two children supposedly roughhousing. On the fourth night a hand rose from the gap between bed and wall as an evil laugh filled the room, and on the last night the sisters aimed a flashlight and saw the thing climb out and bolt — an old man in rags, barefoot, with glowing eyes, talon-like fingers, broken teeth, ears jutting at odd angles, and thin transparent strands hanging from an otherwise bald, corpse-like head.Next comes the true story behind Spring Valley County Park in York County, Pennsylvania, a place once called Hex Hollow. In 1928 a Powwow folk-magic practitioner named John Blymire became convinced he was cursed, and a witch called Nellie Noll — the Marietta River Witch — named Nelson Rehmeyer as the source. To break the hex, Blymire needed a lock of Rehmeyer's hair and his copy of The Long Lost Friend, an 1820 spellbook by John George Hohman. On November 26, 1928, Blymire and two accomplices, John Curry and Wilbert Hess, beat Rehmeyer to death in his home and tried to burn it down; the house refused to burn, which locals took as proof of his power. Blymire and Curry drew life sentences and Hess ten to twenty years, and the surviving hex house opened as a museum in 2007 — its story helping to inspire horror novelist Brian Keene and Shane Free's 2015 documentary on the killing.The episode closes with the death of Marilyn Monroe, found nude and lifeless in her Brentwood home in the early hours of August 5, 1962, a telephone in her hand and empty pill bottles on the nightstand. The official verdict was probable suicide by barbiturate overdose, but Sergeant Jack Clemmons, the first officer on the scene, found no glass or water for swallowing some sixty pills, no vomit, and housekeeper Eunice Murray running laundry while the body lay cooling. Thomas Noguchi's autopsy turned up lethal levels of Nembutal and chloral hydrate in her blood and liver, yet not a trace in her stomach. Witnesses placed Attorney General Robert Kennedy at the house that day and again near 10 p.m., tied to rumors of a red diary detailing her affairs with Robert and President John F. Kennedy and referencing a plot against Castro. A competing account, advanced years later by a Court TV investigation, holds that her psychiatrist Ralph Greenson gave her a chloral hydrate enema to wean her off Nembutal, unaware that her internist Hyman Engelberg was still prescribing it, and that the fatal drug interaction — not the Kennedys, and not her own hand — is what killed her.

Tonight's guest, Tim, lives in Florida, but he was born and raised in the mountains of Northeast Pennsylvania where he did an extensive amount of hunting, fishing, and trapping. At a young age, Tim joined the U.S. Army and served as an infantryman. While he was serving our country, at Fort Carson, in Colorado, he had his first of 4 Bigfoot sightings. When he had his first sighting, he observed a family of Sasquatch, at a distance, through the optics of a missile-guided anti-tank system that was mounted on the armored personnel carrier he was in, at the time. Little did he know, that was going to be the first of a series of sightings he'd have over the years. Tonight's guest, Rick, had his Dogman encounter one night, in 1990, around dusk. He was sitting in church with his wife, at the time, when he realized he had heard the sermon the pastor was just starting to give. When he realized he had already heard it, he told his wife that he was going to take a ride in his 85 Chevy pickup truck to kill some time. Not long after he had left the church, he turned down a secluded road that hadn't been used in a very long time. It was around 8 PM, so it was dusky/dark outside. To help him see better, he turned the overhead lights on, on his truck's rollbar. Seconds after he did that, he saw a huge creature, that wasn't supposed to exist, start climbing down the trunk of a tree that was about 50 yards from the side of the road. As the monstrosity was climbing down the trunk, Rick could hear its claws tearing the bark. At that point, Rick was rapidly approaching the part of the road that was closest to where the creature was. Curiosity got the best of him, so he stopped his truck and got out. Tonight's first guest, Josh, had his first Bigfoot sighting around 2002, in Davis County Kentucky. At the time, he was helping his uncle clear a treeline on a property he owned with his bulldozer. The property had a lot of hills and deep ravines, because his property was close to where the Ohio River river bottoms started. Josh and his uncle had been working for some time when, all of a sudden, Josh heard a tremendous roar ring out behind him. The roar was so loud, it was easy to hear over all the noise his uncle's bulldozer was making. Josh turned to look for the source of the sound and saw animals scattering, so he knew he wasn't the only one who had heard the roar. Not knowing what to make of it, he turned back and continued watching his uncle operate the bulldozer. About 10 minutes later, Josh felt a creepy feeling coming over him, so he turned around again to see if he could determine what might have been causing that. When he turned to look, his eyes fell upon an old barn that was sitting just inside the tree line and 50 to 60 yards behind him. To his shock, standing in the doorway of the barn was a huge figure, leaning out of the doorway, looking right at Josh. Immediately, Josh told himself that what he was looking at didn't exist in Kentucky. You could only find Sasquatch in the Pacific Northwest. His eyes told him a different story, however…Tonight's second guest, Jason Monk, had his Bigfoot sighting in 1994, about 10 miles south of Samson, Alabama. You see, when he was 16 years old, his step-dad and his uncle used to take him deer hunting in a stand of woods close to the Florida line, just north of the Pea River. When Jason, his step-dad, and uncle went to that stand of woods to scope it out, before season started, they would notice strange things. One day, in December, a few weeks before Jason's 17th birthday, Jason had fallen asleep in his tree stand. The tree he was in was swaying in the breeze that day. Considering how drowsy Jason was, from being up before the crack of dawn, that just helped an already drowsy kid fall asleep. Jason doesn't know how long he had been asleep when, all of a sudden, he heard a loud snap, like something was coming through the reeds. Tonight's guest, Mike Tornincasa, started out as a paranormal investigator, but due to a series of experiences he had while doing field investigations in places with a history of paranormal events, he's now a paranormal/sasquatch investigator. The first experience he had that might have involved seeing a sasquatch happened about 4 years ago, in an old cemetery, in Ravenna, Ohio. To this day, Mike's not sure what it was that he saw. A few weeks ago, however, he had a clear sighting of a sasquatch. You see, he was doing a livestream for his podcast that night, in Cuyahoga Valley National Forest, in Summit County, Ohio, and wound up seeing an 8-plus-foot-tall sasquatch peek out at him from behind a tree. Mike got the impression the sasquatch wanted him to see it. Needless to say, the experience made quite the impression on Mike. (The Dutch, it turns out, are doing it right, and their teens are WAY better off for it.) So no, it's not your fault you don't know this stuff, and you have nothing to be embarrassed about. Now let's get into iiiiit! We cover: When a doctor shames you for asking a question: why a dismissive provider is usually acting from their own discomfort, not your ignorance, and how to advocate for yourself anyway. Can your gynecologist tell if you've had sex recently? The honest answer is yes, but only in one specific case. Dr. Maria explains what actually gives it away and why there's no reason for shame either way. What to expect at your first gyno appointment: why a first visit may not involve an exam at all, what the full exam actually includes, and how to make it a two-step process if you're nervous. Do pap smears have to hurt? Dr. Maria validates that the pain is real and pushes back on the "tough it out" culture, with specific things you can ask for: a smaller speculum, numbing, and meds beforehand.
