Dan brings us one, long tale today. We meet a young woman who moved into an old San Francisco house with roommates and then began to hear things. The more she hears, the creepier and more disturbing things get. I don't want to give away any more than that. No lore, no historical set ups, just a deeply disturbing story. Lynze balances out the show with three tales the go from creepy, to creepier, to creepiest! We begin with two young kids creeping out their mom, then we go on to an uninvited visitor and wrap up with three friends needing to GTFO. Hope you enjoy!Crime Wave At Sea 2.0! Popok reports on new filings and Chief Judge Boesberg demanding that the Trump Administration explain why they continue to deny these 137 men Due Process despite court orders to the contrary. 3 Day Blinds: For their buy 1 get 1 50% off deal, head to https://3DayBlinds.com/LEGALAF. My guest this week is Massachusetts State Senator Julian Cyr, whose district includes Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket — a situation he never expected to find himself in. As a teenager, Julian was mainly focused on singing, and planned to pursue a career in the humanities. But when budget cuts threatened local arts programs, he organized people to speak up, and discovered he had a knack for leadership that eventually brought him to a specialized program at NYU, the Obama White House, and now to the last place on Earth he ever thought he'd go — the place where he grew up.We'll have that interview in a moment. While many of us think about what we want to do before we die, rarely do we think about planning for what happens with our assets, mementos, leftover whiskey, and dogs after we go. In this episode, we talk with attorney Katie Eaves who specializes in just such things. Do you need a will or a trust? Does it matter if you don't have much to leave? Can you torment people from beyond the grave? Find out the answers to these questions and more. Give it a listen, it's a good one.#Attorneys #estateplanning #wills #trusts #scavengerhunts
As we get into 2026, Tiffany reflects on how often we look at things from afar, whether it's a dream career, a healthy lifestyle, or personal growth, and think, “I like how it looks, but I'm scared to do it.” In this episode of Life of And, Tiffany explores how fear and self-doubt can prevent us from achieving our goals, and why it's important to move past these mental barriers.Through a powerful story involving her youngest daughter learning to ride a bike, Tiffany shares insights on how we often face the same threshold moments in life. She explains how we need to trust the process, push through fear, and take that first step, even when we are not sure of the outcome. She also touches on how to regain momentum when you feel like you are stuck in a cycle of inaction and how prioritizing our goals can be the key to breaking free from it.What You'll Learn:How to identify and confront the fear holding you backThe importance of trusting the process and taking that first stepWhy redefining priorities can help you make progress in 2026For more from Tiffany:Follow Tiffany on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tiffany.sauderLearn More: https://www.tiffanysauder.com Timestamps:(00:00) Intro(02:11) A 5-year-old's fear and insight(03:43) Training wheels as a life metaphor(05:12) Trust before you have proof(09:21) Reframing fear: “How do I do it?”(11:13) An invitation to go furtherCheck out the sponsor of this episode:Created in partnership with Share Your Genius
Everyone has intrusive thoughts. With OCD, the difference is that they tend to escalate from 0 to 100 in an instant. Author John Green compares it to a snowstorm: three flakes, then four—then suddenly you're in a complete whiteout where nothing else exists. In this video, John opens up about how intrusive thoughts feel for him, and how OCD's fear and dread used to drown out everything—even the people he loved most. He also shares how getting the proper treatment for OCD has taught him to catch thought spirals earlier and respond differently, giving him back time and energy to spend on writing, being with his kids, and actually living his life.At NOCD, we specialize in exposure and response prevention therapy (ERP), the most effective treatment for OCD—a treatment that can help you live a fulfilling life. Dan shares tales of two islands this week. We'll head to the remote Pacific Samoan island of Ofu, where there's a stretch of beach so feared that many locals refuse to walk it after dark. A place believed to be a gathering ground for spirits who've never crossed over. A place where ghosts can do more than just scare you. Next, we'll head to the other side of the world to the Azores. High above a volcanic crater on São Miguel, an abandoned luxury hotel looms out of the fog - a five-star dream that collapsed almost as soon as it opened. Visitors today report footsteps in empty hallways, voices in stairwells, and the unmistakable feeling of being watched by something that never left. A little less exotic but equally as creepy, Lynze brings us a tale from Spokane. The story of an entity that has attached itself to a someone and still lingers close today. To wrap up, we go to a midwest county fair where two young friends get more than they bargained for at the fun house. Bad Magic Monthly Donation: This month, we are donating to the HALO Dental Network. This may sound familiar because this is our second time donating here. After all of these years of making various donations, HALO is the one and only charity we receive emails about on a monthly basis. We have been sending fans their way consistently since our last donation in 2022. We felt that if we were going to keep sending folks their way, we ought to help support their mission. The HALO Dental Network is dedicated to being the most impactful dental charity in the United States. Led by Dr. Brady Smith, HALO provides free dental care to underserved populations throughout the country. Dental services include dental implants, veneers, fillings, crowns and root canals. We are thrilled to be able to support their mission, once again. We have donated $11,230 while putting $1250 into the 2026 scholarship fund. This is Part 4 of my 5-Part podcast series for perfectionist entrepreneurs. It's all about why personal development is the secret to building your business and my simple personal development process that works for perfectionists who are building businesses. I wouldn't have a successful business if I hadn't figured out how to make great business decisions even when I was scared of getting it wrong. I used to umm and ahh, procrasti-research, procrasti-learn and second guess myself. I wanted to get every decision right because I didn't want to embarrass myself, I didn't want to waste precious time and money and I didn't want to publicly put myself out there if I was only going to change my mind one week later. In today's episode, I'm sharing the simple personal development work that my clients and I have done to make great business decisions even when you're scared you'll get it wrong. And the answer isn't just to make an 'imperfect' decision. That doesn't work for perfectionists! So instead, I'm sharing a simple and practical approach that does - as well as some personal stories that I know you'll be able to relate to. He served as a pastor for over 25 years before turning to full-time writing and speaking, often focusing on end-times theology and family values. Beverly LaHaye, born in 1929, was a vocal advocate for conservative Christian values and women's roles in society, founding the organization Concerned Women for America in 1979. Tim LaHaye is perhaps best known as the co-author of the Left Behind series, a best-selling collection of apocalyptic novels written with Jerry B. Jenkins. The series dramatizes a fictionalized version of the Rapture and subsequent tribulation, based on Tim's interpretation of Biblical prophecy. These books sold over 80 million copies worldwide and sparked renewed interest in eschatology within evangelical circles. In addition to fiction, he wrote numerous nonfiction books addressing topics such as marriage, politics, and spirituality, always with a conservative Christian perspective. Together, Tim and Beverly LaHaye were a formidable force in American evangelicalism, combining their talents in writing, activism, and public speaking to influence both Christian thought and conservative politics. Married for over 60 years until Tim's death in 2016, they left behind a legacy of fervent advocacy for their faith and values. While supporters praised their dedication to scripture and family, critics often challenged their political and theological positions. Regardless, their impact on late 20th and early 21st-century evangelicalism remains significant. Sources: Dreyfuss, R. (2004, Feb). "Reverend Doomsday". Rolling Stone, pp. 46-49. White, G. Revival Mom | Grow Deeper with God, Encourage children in the Lord, Christian Home
Are you feeling anxious about raising kids in today's world? I get it, mama. Every time we turn on the news or scroll social media, it feels like something new is happening that makes us wonder what kind of world our children are growing up in. That heavy feeling on your chest? The racing heart? I've been there too. I'm opening up about my own journey with anxiety—from that first panic attack when my oldest was just a week old to learning how to recognize and combat anxious thoughts today. But here's the truth that changed everything for me: anxiety is not something we have to own. It's an attack, not our identity. This episode is packed with biblical encouragement that will bring you hope and remind you that you don't have to walk through motherhood in fear. What We're Diving Into: Why God did NOT give us a spirit of fear (and what He gave us instead) The power of Psalm 23 when you're walking through dark valleys of worry Removing the guilt and shame that often comes with experiencing anxiety How your children were created "for such a time as this" 4 practical steps to shift from fear to faith when anxiety hits Here's what I want you to know: God knew exactly what our world would look like right now. He knew the challenges we'd face. And He still chose to give you your children because He knew YOU were the one to raise them. They're not accidents in this timeline—they're warriors being prepared for this exact moment. I'm sharing biblical encouragement straight from God's Word, plus the exact declarations I speak over my children every morning on the way to school. Because when we renew our minds daily in Scripture, when we shift our perspective to see the good, and when we declare truth over ourselves and our families—that's when everything changes. You are courageous. You have power, love, and a sound mind. And you don't have to walk in fear. Grab your headphones and let's find hope together, mama. Don and Dude keep the “I Love the 80s” tour rolling into 1983, a year when cable TV, mail‑order music clubs, and early MTV helped R&B and pop polish their hooks without sanding off all the emotional rough edges. One of us brings a married‑duo soul record that turns relationship conflict into sophisti‑funk therapy, while the other counters with a technicolor, hook‑stuffed debut that reframes punky, downtown weirdness as mass‑appeal pop. Together, the albums show how 1983's R&B and pop could be slick, vulnerable, and chart‑ready, but still tangled up in money, heartbreak, and the messy work of becoming yourself. The AlbumsWomack & Womack – Love Wars (1983) On their debut as a duo, Cecil and Linda Womack fold family gospel roots, Sam Cooke's shadow, and veteran songwriting chops into a lean early‑80s R&B set that treats love like an ongoing negotiation instead of a fairy tale. Built around supple basslines, tight James Gadson grooves, and restrained synths, the record plays like a living‑room soul soap opera where arguments, red flags, and reconciliations all get equal airtime. Tracks like “Love Wars,” “Baby I'm Scared of You,” and their quietly devastating cover of “Angie” push past easy romance into fear, honesty, and hard‑won optimism, sketching a relationship cycle that feels lived‑in rather than idealized. Produced by Stewart Levine with an A‑team of L.A. session players, the album's space, subtlety, and emotional candor would later be heard as a bridge toward neo‑soul and more adult‑minded R&B.Cyndi Lauper – She's So Unusual (1983) Cyndi Lauper's solo debut explodes out of the speakers as a neon‑bright mix of pop‑rock, new wave, and downtown art‑kid attitude, turning a batch of covers and co‑writes into an unmistakably personal statement. From the cynical, melodica‑laced opener “Money Changes Everything” through the feminist rallying cry of “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” and the tender, slow‑motion reassurance of “Time After Time,” she proves she can be funny, strange, and devastatingly vulnerable—sometimes in the same song. Rick Chertoff's production leans on jangly guitars, stacked harmonies, and sharp synth hooks, but always keeps Lauper's elastic, technically fierce voice at the center. The result is an album that made history with four Top‑Five singles and still plays like a manifesto for unapologetic individuality in pop.Diggin' AlbumsHome Front – Watch It Die (2025) Edmonton's Home Front push their self‑described “bootwave” further on Watch It Die, fusing 80s‑inflected synths, post‑punk grit, and anthemic choruses into songs about getting by when everything feels like it's fraying at the edges. The Twilight Sad – It's the Long Goodbye (2026) On their sixth LP, The Twilight Sad stretch their dense, noise‑tinted indie rock into a reflective, slow‑burning set about loss, endings, and hanging on, wrapping James Graham's thick‑accented confessions in towering guitars and electronics that feel both crushing and oddly comforting.Flickerstick – Superluminal (2025) Reuniting after more than two decades, Flickerstick return with Superluminal, an 11‑track set of cinematic alt‑rock that folds their early‑2000s melodic instincts into grown‑up songs about time, aging, and the strange vertigo of getting a second act.Def Leppard – Pyromania (1983) Pyromania finds Def Leppard and producer Mutt Lange perfecting the gleaming, radio‑ready side of hard rock, stacking harmonized choruses and surgically precise riffs into arena anthems like “Photograph,” “Rock of Ages,” and “Foolin'” that defined what big‑budget 80s rock would sound like.Follow & Support Follow the show on Instagram, Facebook, Threads, and Bluesky @albumnerds, and support by subscribing, rating, reviewing, and sharing.“You'll find many of the truths that we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view.” - Obi-Wan Kenobi

This is Part 2 of my 5-Part podcast series for perfectionist entrepreneurs. It's all about why personal development is the secret to building your business and my simple personal development process that works for perfectionists who are building businesses. I wouldn't have a successful business if I hadn't figured out how to put myself out there even when I was terrified of getting laughed at. I was never the person who didn't care what others thought about me. I cared deeply. So much so that it made me get in my own way and struggle to market my business (or even offer anything for sale). In today's episode, I'm sharing the simple personal development work that my clients and I have done to feel safe to put yourself out there - even when your friends, family and colleagues can see your social media account. And the answer isn't to stop caring what other people think. That doesn't work for perfectionists! So instead, I'm sharing a simple and practical approach that does - as well as some personal stories that I know you'll be able to relate to. If you're a perfectionist and you're building a business, you want to listen to this episode today. Tonight's guest, Kai Raath, was born and raised in South Africa. With that in mind, he's been in close proximity to animals that made his heart race but none of them got his heart racing the way it did when he had encounters with a Dogman he had his first encounter with, in March of 2023. That Dogman was white, all over, with a prominent mane running down its back. Due to that feature, Kai and his friends, who have had their own encounters with it, call that Dogman “White Mane.” On tonight's show, Kai is going to be share several encounters he and his friends have had with White Mane. We begin this week in 1970's Sardinia, where a quiet, deeply devout teenage girl began to wake up every night at exactly 3:00 a.m., convinced something terrible was standing next to her bed… watching her… and waiting to enter her. Then we head to Christmas Day, 1929, when a well-liked North Carolina farmer committed the unspeakable. Has it spawned paranormal activity? Then we find ourselves visiting the same house, ten years apart, both times the home is for sale and empty... or is it? Lastly, a sweet, sad and comforting tale of a couple so deeply connected, not even death can keep them apart. Do you want to get all of our episodes a WEEK early, ad free?
