Susie watched the Boeing documentary, Freefall, which exposes the company's negligence that likely led to many of the recent airplane crashes, malfunctions, and fatalities. We learn about a Titanic-themed slide a family installed on their farm, which infuriated residents who thought it was insensitive. We debate whether making light of the tragedy is inappropriate or people are being overly sensitive. We learn the crazy reason clownfish lose all but one of their stripes as they age. We hear about a man paying a ton of money for a matchmaker, but has been on 40 first dates, and hasn't found Mrs. Right. We think we know why. In the middle of recording Susie receives dozens of texts about Dolly Parton's death, and we eulogize her on the fly. We learn what happens in the brain when we have an "aha moment." And we find out that humans are not the only animals who have pets.00:00 - Personal Updates, Exam Stress, and Comedy Show Mishaps11:27 - Unpacking Boeing's Negligence and Air Travel Anxiety20:29 - Is a Titanic-Themed Slide Insensitive or Harmless Fun?29:15 - Peer Pressure Makes Clownfish Lose Their Stripes34:09 - Why a $25,000 Matchmaker Client Stays Single44:30 - An Emotional Eulogy for Dolly Parton (False Alarm)49:25 - Exploring the Science Behind Our "Aha" Eureka Moments01:00:32 - The Evolutionary Enigma of Animals Keeping Pets01:08:17 - Reflecting on Cultural Grief and Saying FarewellBrain Candy Podcast Website - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/Brain Candy Podcast Book Recommendations - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/books/Brain Candy Podcast Merchandise - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/candy-store/Brain Candy Podcast Candy Club - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/product/candy-club/Brain Candy Podcast Sponsor Codes - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/support-us/Brain Candy Podcast Social Media & Platforms:Brain Candy Podcast LIVE Interactive Trivia Nights - https://www.youtube.com/@BrainCandyPodcast/streamsBrain Candy Podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastHost Susie Meister Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterHost Sarah Rice Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBrain Candy Podcast on X: https://www.x.com/braincandypodBrain Candy Podcast Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/braincandy (JOIN FREE - TONS OF REALITY TV CONTENT)Brain Candy Podcast Sponsors, partnerships, & Products that we love:Head to https://airdoctor.com and use promo code CANDY to get UP TO $300 off today! The Daily DLP for Thursday, September 3rd is a meaty one. Lions GM Brad Holmes and Assistant VP Ray Agnew met with the media on Wednesday and brought up a number of topics worthy of discussion. From the Terrion Arnold timing and replacement plan, or lack thereof, to adding more juice to the defensive line with players like rookies Skyler Gill-Howard and Eric O'Neill, Holmes and Agnew handled questions about the roster constitution and the decisions behind the moves. Detroit also made some more roster moves, waiving Seth McLaughlin and Jabari Small days after each made the initial 53-man roster. Injuries to both affected the timing, and we explain why it just might be a savvy bit of roster gymnastics from the Lions that allows both to stay in the Den. We also break down who might be getting added to the 53-man roster and why Tom Kennedy deserves to be one of them. Plus, a quick breakdown of new practice squad OL Elijah Klein. #detroitlions #lions #detroitlionspodcast #sethmclaughlin #jabarismall #practicesquad #bradholmes #rayagnew #elijahklein #masonmiller #tateratledge #tomkennedy #dominiclovett Learn more about your ad choices. From launching a sports agency to building Mainstay Touring and helping put together Kanye West's record-breaking SoFi Stadium show, Rod Wave is making a case that his biggest moves could eventually happen outside of music. We also dive into the multi-million-dollar jersey patch deals taking over college football, including Ohio State's $20 million-a-year JPMorgan Chase deal, Tennessee's $12 million-a-year First Horizon partnership, and Monster Energy's conference-wide Big 12 deal. With F1 cars and European hockey jerseys already covered in sponsors, is college football heading toward the same future as schools search for every possible financial advantage? And to wrap it up, we debate one of our hottest takes yet: Druski is this generation's Dave Chappelle.

The Daily DLP from the Detroit Lions Podcast dives deep into the team's initial 14-man practice squad signings on Monday. Before getting into the players who constitute the Lions practice squad, host Jeff Risdon reviewed some of the more intriguing, surprising moves to get to the 53-man roster. Wide receiver Greg Dortch getting cut and now moving onto the Buffalo Bills remains a head-scratcher from a football standpoint. The Lions don't have anyone else who can do what Dortch offered as a receiver and a return man. Tyler Conklin not making the team also gets covered, with the knowledge that Jackson Meeks offers a different element than the veteran. It's a pragmatic choice by the Lions, and also rewards Meeks for his outstanding special teams contributions all summer. Those special teams are where RB Jabari Small likely made the team as well. The practice squad has 14 players who were cut by Detroit on Sunday. Two spots remain open. One of them might be for UDFA LB Erick Hunter. While Hunter isn't on the list, it does not necessarily mean that the Lions haven't tried to get him back. Hunter might be weighing other opportunities with different teams that offer a more immediate path to playing time than what he has in Detroit. Two 2025 draftees, Dominic Lovett and Dan Jackson, are also not on the list. It's a disappointing lack of progress for the two Georgia Bulldogs, taken late in the ‘25 draft. While frustrating, missing on late Day 3 picks is not cause for alarm or shame for GM Brad Holmes. #detroitlions #lions #detroitlionspodcast #gregdortch #jabarismall #sionevaki #jacobsaylors #jacksonmeeks #tylerconklin #brockwright #nickwhiteside #masonmiller #sethmclaughlin Learn more about your ad choices. This conversation separates emotion from evidence, explores the theory of altruistic filicide, and examines the behavioral sequence of the murders and suicide attempt. You can then participate in a 2-question, survey that feeds a global opinion map that shows how people around the world are thinking about the only legal question that matters. Did Lindsay Clancy know that killing her children was wrong? Oregon's fall camp is essentially complete, and the Ducks are preparing to shift their attention toward game-week preparation for their 2026 season opener against Boise State. On the latest episode of the Autzen Audibles Podcast, Matt Prehm and Erik Skopil go position-by-position through Oregon's defense to discuss the latest buzz, storylines and information coming out of fall camp.Like our offensive breakdown, this isn't a projected depth chart or an attempt to predict exactly who will take the field for Oregon's first defensive snap of the season. Instead, Prehm and Skopil focus on what they've heard throughout August, what has stood out during conversations with Oregon's coaches and players, and where each position appears to stand as the Ducks leave camp. The discussion begins along Oregon's defensive front, where the Ducks have spent the offseason developing a deep and versatile collection of defensive linemen and edge defenders. From there, the podcast examines a linebacker room featuring a mix of experience and emerging options before turning to a secondary with competition and versatility throughout the cornerback, safety and Star positions.Which defensive players generated the most buzz during fall camp? Which position groups appear to have taken significant steps forward? Where could Oregon have difficult decisions to make because of its depth? And what questions still need to be answered once the Ducks begin playing games?Prehm and Skopil break down everything they know and have heard about Oregon's defense as fall camp comes to an end and the Ducks prepare to turn their full attention toward Boise State and the start of the 2026 season.(2:00) - Why this defense has the hype it is getting(4:25) - Oregon's Defensive Line Room(19:13) - Oregon's Linebacker Room(32:36) - Oregon's Secondary Room

Breaking Down The Lindsay Clancy Trial W/ Shaun Yurtkuran & Creston Berch (Ep #1,284)
There is a new documentary coming out about Olympic breakdancer and academic, Raygun, and we don't know how we're going to be able to wait for its release. In the meantime, we talk about Amanda Knox's decision to try her hand at comedy, and why we think maybe she should do literally anything else. We debate whether it's inappropriate for her to make light of a murder or whether being wrongfully accused means she is a victim too, thus giving her more freedom to make jokes. We hear about a golf cheater and how his life is ruined over the dumbest lie ever told. We find out about an uber driver who has been in jail for years for accidentally transporting marijuana. We debate the rights of a surrogate who refused to terminate her pregnancy despite the agreement she'd made with the birth parents. We discuss why microwave beeps are so annoying. We hear about a football team who used "color theory" to intimidate their opposition in the locker room. We find out why wedding gifts in Japan have less value now and we learn why reading literally any book makes you less likely to die.Brain Candy Podcast Website - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/Brain Candy Podcast Book Recommendations - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/books/Brain Candy Podcast Merchandise - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/candy-store/Brain Candy Podcast Candy Club - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/product/candy-club/Brain Candy Podcast Sponsor Codes - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/support-us/Brain Candy Podcast Social Media & Platforms:Brain Candy Podcast LIVE Interactive Trivia Nights - https://www.youtube.com/@BrainCandyPodcast/streamsBrain Candy Podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastHost Susie Meister Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterHost Sarah Rice Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBrain Candy Podcast on X: https://www.x.com/braincandypodBrain Candy Podcast Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/braincandy (JOIN FREE - TONS OF REALITY TV CONTENT)TDM-RESERVATION: 1. Rob and Mike Talk The Christy Blindside | Survivor Time Trip You can watch this podcast on YouTube! Survivor time travel meets old-school strategy as Rob Cesternino and Mike Bloom reunite for a deep dive into Survivor: The Amazon on a special Time Trip episode. In this candid conversation, Rob and Mike break down one of the most game-changing moves from Survivor's sixth season—the flip that cemented Rob's reputation as reality TV's original swing vote. As they revisit the dramatic family visit episode, the discussion swings between nostalgia, regret, and the wild evolution of Survivor gameplay. From the fallout of Rob's betrayal at final seven to his infamous “lone wolf” confessional, Rob walks Mike through his mindset, misreads, and behind-the-scenes stories—including why nobody wanted to end up in the Amazon's dangerous waters and how that iconic Speedo came to be. Listeners get a firsthand account of the shifting alliances and last-minute deals, the struggle for social capital after blowing up alliances, and what it took to survive when everyone is mad at you. Plus, the pair reflect on Christy's groundbreaking—but under-edited—journey as Survivor's first deaf contestant, and debate what would happen if Rob had made a different move at the final six. – Rob's pivotal flip at final seven and the fallout with Jenna, Heidi, and Alex – How the wine-fueled family visit changed camp dynamics and future plans – Christy's unique Survivor experience and the challenge of navigating alliances as a social outsider – The strategic calculus behind blindsides and managing emotions at Tribal Council – Rob's reflections on innovation and risk-taking in Survivor's early years This episode unpacks whether Survivor's early chaos really set the tone for the fluid, cutthroat gameplay of modern seasons. Does flipping back and forth break your game or make you a legend? Will history remember Rob's move as a teaching moment—or simply as old-school chaos?
