5 years after the Fukushima nuclear disaster, the exclusion zone is to be made habitable again. Until the Fukushima disaster, Toru Anzai lived near the nuclear power plant, but on March 11, 2011, an earthquake and tsunami triggered a core meltdown. Four of the Japanese power plant's six reactor blocks were damaged. Large amounts of radioactive material were released. As a result, 170,000 people had to be evacuated. Anzai was one of them, because his house and land were contaminated. Now the Japanese government wants the evacuees to return. Work on decontaminating the evacuation zone is in full swing. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's government wants to gradually lift a series of evacuation orders by March 2017. But because of the radioactive contamination that still exists, many people are unwilling to return. Anzai also has his doubts. He sets off to visit his house. What will he decide to do?
Hi there and welcome to episode 7 of the Promedia Podcast; as usual I’ve included another 3 songs for your listening pleasure. If you would like to use any of the songs featured on my Podcasts please let me know don’t forget you can drop me an email and I can provide you with a higher quality version if required georgewood1966@hotmail.com Track 1 is called ‘Core Meltdown’ and while not a favourite of mine has received a lot of positive feedback, I’m not sure if there was anything in particular that inspired this song, although in hindsight the orchestral stabs do sound a little (exactly) like the Weakest link stings, just coincidence? Track 2 is called ‘Out and about’ and was created as a backing track for a commercial DVD about the Boy Scout movement; it was supposed to be fun, unobtrusive with a little touch of a Celtic theme here and there for good measure (you can hear some Celtic whistles during the bridge sections). Track 3 is called ‘Travelogue’ and was created as a theme tuned of VIP on Air’s travel magazine show, as mentioned previously the station has subsequently relented / rebalanced so I don’t think the music is in use at the moment. If there song makes you think of holidays in Spain, sun, sea and sand I’ve been successful. OK so I keep threatening a Retro show, I suppose I’m hesitant because I don’t want to let anyone hear anything that doesn’t have the highest production values or just simply sounds dated (some of them are 15 years old), if you’re interested please le me know: georgewood1966@hotmail.com
Well this week I am flying solo with the podcast and it is full of rambling goodness. My unabridged audio book review is the soon to be motion picture, Hannibal Rising by Thomas Harris as we look at the tragic origins of a serial killer. Then it is off to the future world of Primus as I do the DVD review of The New Adventures of He-Man Vol. 1 and talk about the 90's animated classic. Also news of possible future shows and my impressions of a Second Life wedding I was able to attend. Music for this week is the song Core Meltdown by George Wood and can be found at www.podsafeaudio.com. As always your comments and suggestions are welcome.
