A crushing night for the Edmonton Oilers as Reilly Smith scored the game winner with 0.4 seconds left in the game to give a Vegas a 4-3 victory. In his first game since game 2 against the Kings, Stuart Skinner was up and down on the night and Leon Draisaitl fought the puck all night with two costly turnovers and deflecting the game winner into his own net. Edmonton jumped out to 2-0 lead but the Golden Knights were the better team for most of the game and are now back in the series. Only bad news for Vegas was the loss of the Mark Stone early in the game. Postgame comments from Stuart Skinner, Leon Draisaitl and Kris Knoblauch. Tom Gazzola - Shawn Belle - Matt Kassian - Hernan Salas - Reid Wilkins.

Hour 1 Today on the show, Gio and Jerry are filling in for Boomer, who's at Joe Burrow's golf tournament in Cincinnati. Gio wants Jerry to wear the Celtics jersey to tease Boomer. The new Pope being a Villanova graduate and its connection to the "Villanova Knicks" was also mentioned. Before his update, C-Lo discussed the Five Borough Bike Tour and his Rangers podcast with Boomer, noting his hiccups are gone. The show previewed Knicks/Celtics game 3 and touched on the Timberwolves evening their series with the Warriors, including Draymond Green's comments about media portrayal. The Oilers' 2-0 series lead against the Golden Knights was noted. The hour ended with a discussion about seagulls at the Vatican signaling the new Pope. Hour 2 Gio discussed a potentially embarrassing video revealing the Giants' desire to trade up for Cam Ward, questioning how Abdul Carter and Jaxson Dart might feel. Jerry argued that as the #1 pick, they shouldn't be offended, but Gio suggested young players' egos might take it differently. Despite the tough NFC East and a challenging schedule where they might be underdogs in every game, Jerry is taking the over on 5.5 Giants wins. Before C-Lo's update, Eddie from Commack, the Mets fan pictured at the Vatican, called in. The conversation then shifted to the new Pope, with Evan Roberts linking Jalen Brunson beyond the Villanova connection, and clips of Chris Russo breaking down the new Pope. Finally, a self-proclaimed #1 Al Dukes fan shared a "Cinco de Five-0" about Al, followed by Jerry's own list of Al's annoying habits. Hour 3 Gio noted the Knicks would feel great up 3-0 but are still in a good position at 2-1, despite being underdogs. Jerry is wearing a Celtics jersey in Boomer's chair to annoy him over his Nets fandom. The conversation touched on George Pickens joining the Cowboys and the challenge for Dak Prescott managing him and Cee Dee Lam b. They took Knicks calls regarding game 3, and Gio mentioned a new Black Mirror episode. Caller Tracy asked if Gio and Jerry played sports growing up. C-Lo's update included Paul Pierce not walking barefoot to work as promised after the Knicks' win, Boston sports radio dismissing the Knicks as "trash," an usher trying to remove Knicks fans, and Dave Portnoy calling them "despicable." The hour concluded with Jerry announcing a charity golf tournament on August 18th in Marlboro, NJ, and a mention of a pro-am involving Kevin Costner. Hour 4 Pablo Torre reported that Bill Belichick's girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, is banned from UNC facilities, prompting Gio to comment on how attractiveness can influence tolerance for "crazy." C-Lo's final update included sounds of the Timberwolves' win over the Warriors, Charles Barkley criticizing players for being "wussies," the Oilers' OT win against the Golden Knights, and the Rangers introducing Mike Sullivan as coach. Clips featured Chris Russo "ranking Popes" and Julian Edelman noting Belichick becoming a distraction after preaching against them. Abdul Carter will wear #51 in rookie camp (potentially changing), and Rafael Devers is resisting the Red Sox's suggestion to play first base. The Moment of the Day was Chris Russo breaking down the new Pope. Gio concluded the week discussing Mother's Day pressure, stating that morning golf is unacceptable.
We start with a preview of Knicks/Celtics game 3 tomorrow at the Garden. By the way, C-Lo no longer has the hiccups. The Timberwolves evened the series at one with a win over the Warriors. Draymond Green told the media he is ‘not an angry black man' and is sick of the media's agenda. The Oilers beat the Golden Knights to go up 2-0 in that series.

Friday afternoon means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to be enjoyed. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed Edmonton's win over Los Angeles, what to expect from the Vegas Golden Knights, and much more. The guys kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a random discussion about mascots before finally getting to our delicious debate for the week, which revolved around Nic Roy's cross-check to Trent Frederic's face. On Friday morning, the NHL DoPS announced that Roy would face a hearing later today. That prompted the boys to wonder whether he would be suspended for one game or if getting kicked out in overtime was enough of a punishment. Changing gears, we examined what the Oilers need to do in Game 3 to ensure they maintain the momentum. While Edmonton managed to win Game 2, one can argue that the team was fortunate to pull out the victory, given the numerous mistakes made and the Golden Knights' strong performance. If they're going to kick off their games at home with another win, Edmonton will need to do a much better job on the small details of their game. Put another way, it would be really lovely if Calvin Pickard didn't have to bail the boys out as often as he has been. Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week. It's incredible how much things can change in two weeks, isn't it? Especially when you remember that the Oilers were down 2-0 in the series at this same point only a week ago. Life comes at you fast, doesn't it? Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Today on The Oil Stream, it's the usual suspects, Dustin Nielson & Tom Gazzola. A lot to discuss on the final episode of the week, including the Oilers' huge comeback, overtime win, as the Oilers were able to get the job done by the score of 5-4. The Oilers now head back home with a 2-0 series lead on the Vegas Golden Knights. They'll recap last night's action and preview Saturday's game right here in Edmonton! Have a great weekend, Nasties. The Oil Stream is presented by Boston Pizza!
The Oilers took control of the series with a 5-4 overtime win in Game 2. The Vegas Golden Knights were the better team on the night but Edmonton's dynamic duo found the opportunity in OT, with Leon Draisaitl scoring the winner. Veteran Calvin Pickard was outstanding on the night despite letting four goals in, while the special teams continue to struggle for the Oil but in the end Picks and depth helped the Oilers squeak one out. Hear postgame comments from Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. Tom Gazzola - Reid Wilkins - Matt Kassian - Derek Van Diest - Hernan Salas

Nothing is better than a fresh episode of the Real Life podcast to recap the weekend and start your week. On the Monday episode of Real Life, the guys discussed the Oilers' series win, what to expect from the Vegas Golden Knights, and much more. The boys were shorthanded for the Monday episode of Real Life, but Tyler, Chalmers, and Baggedmilk kicked off the podcast with a recap of their first round win over the Los Angeles Kings. While many of the pundits and experts felt this was the Kings' year to beat the Oilers finally, what actually happened was a fantastic display of resilience by an Edmonton crew that would not quit. As a result, the Kings announced that they've parted ways with Rob Blake as the team's GM only days after a fourth consecutive first-round exit.Looking ahead at the Vegas Golden Knights, Tyler walked the boys through what to expect from their second round matchup vs. the Vegas Golden Knights. While there's little doubt the Golden Knights are a fantastic hockey club, Tyler also singled out some areas where the Oilers could have an advantage over the team that knocked them out of the playoffs two years ago. Changing gears, the guys then looked back at the two Game 7s that happened over the weekend, and how both games had the wildest endings you could ever hope to see. Finally, the guys wrapped up the Monday episode of Real Life with a random collection of topics, including a look back at some of the stats from Oilers/Vegas from two years ago, depth scoring, tactics, and much more. Ryan Carter and John King are joined by the voice of Wild Radio, Joe O'Donnell to break down game 6. The Minnesota Wild have been beaten by the Vegas Golden Knights in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but the reality is, this season felt different. Not only did the team battle through adversity through the entire season and seemed to maintain, if not excel in areas without huge pieces of their team missing, but they entered the playoffs and carried themselves with a bit more experience than we are used to seeing. Give it a listen, and head into the off season with more experience than you had last year, and get ready, because next fall will be here faster than you think. A season finale will drop next week.
