On tonight's show, we recap an entertaining Winnipeg Jets pre-season victory over the Edmonton Oilers. How did the team as whole perform, especially with a rotated cast of prospects and AHLers in tow? Were the younger players able to step up and impress, or was the shock of playing against seasoned veterans a bit too much? How did the Jets vets fare? Were they in sync, or still a bit on the rustier side? Is the move to centre looking like the right decision for Perfetti, or should the Jets send him out wide? Which young players impressed the most, and could one of Chisholm or Heinola make the team this season? Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! One of the best and most effective ways to build a strong all-around fantasy hockey team is to ensure you have enough grit and some banger league beauties on your fantasy hockey team to help balance out the PIM, hits, and blocks categories. These are the types of players that could take your team to the next level. Which is why on Wednesday's brand new episode, Flip and Steele discuss some of their favorite banger fantasy hockey league targets. Players such as Vincent Trocheck of the New York Rangers, Evander Kane of the Edmonton Oilers, Ivan Barbashev of the Vegas Golden Knights and others. It should be noted, however, that the top two obvious names on this list were omitted in Matthew and Brady Tkachuk. Other banger fantasy hockey league players you should be looking at in your draft include the likes of Ottawa Senators rising star Tim Stutzle as well as J.T. Miller of the Vancouver Canucks and of course, former first overall draft pick Rasmus Dahlin of the up-and-coming Buffalo Sabres. Join us as this week Paul interviews Gary Millar of the Arabian Horse Literacy Project. Hailing from Canada, Gary was involved with the Marketing, Development, Promotion committee with AHA. After a presentation to the MDP, he was inspired to use the Walter Farley model of the Black Stallion Project to shape his ideas. From there, he was able to create a program that not only promoted literacy, but also built a positive experience centered around the Arabian horse for all kinds of kids. Gary's program provides books to every student, encourages reading, and brings horse on-site to a school so kids can get up-close and personal. They also get to head out to the farm where they can meet several, and have a chance to do some really unique things, like reading to a horse. Since 2008, he's been working with pre-schoolers through 8th grade kids and that audience continues to grow. Gary has created partnerships with Edmonton Oilers, local schools and clubs, and can even get classes sponsored to participate in the activities. He's also a big believer in equine assisted learning - and found that with so many people, horses can act as a mirror and help drive self-awareness. For adults, there's also the Ground-Up program, which focuses on groundwork, expanding learning and activities over four weeks. Gary is extremely excited to continue to expand his program! Reach out to him at gary@millarcom.com, find the Arabian Horse Reading Literacy Project or Facebook, or visit his website at ArabianHorseReading.com. Welcome back for season 7 of the Glass and Out Podcast! For epsiode #226, we're joined by friend of the pod and Edmonton Oilers Head Coach, Jay Woodcroft. He is entering his third season as the Head Coach of the Oilers with the best winning percentage of any coach in franchise history. Last season, the Oilers were eliminated by the eventual Stanley Cup Champions, the Vegas Golden Knights in round 2. This season, well, fair to say there is only one goal in the City of Champions. Listen as shares his philosophy of repurposing disappointment, why it's important to "walk the talk" when it comes to building culture, and how a similar path in coaching led to a friendship with Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra.

Locked On Avalanche - Daily Podcast On The Colorado Avalanche
Once again, the Colorado Avalanche lurked in the shadows, patiently waiting for the right player to fall to them. Last year it was Evan Rodrigues, this year it's Tomas Tatar. Tatar signed a nice and easy one year deal for a low $1.5 million to join the Avs and make their middle six a bit stronger. The remodeling of the Avs should just about be complete now, and Tatar only adds to the new look team. We are also joined by Eddie Garcia of Locked on Los Angeles Kings. The Kings are a team on the rise and Eddie talks about their offseason of moves, and how it's impossible to not have the Edmonton Oilers in the backs of their heads when making those moves. Can the Kings not only get out of the first round, but make a playoff push? Their goalie situation might have a lot to do with if they do or do not. Tune in, subscribe and enjoy! On today's Western Conference Tuesday edition of Locked on NHL, Seth Toupal of Locked on Wild and Nick Morgan of Locked on Predators start with big questions facing the Vegas Golden Knights for 2023-24. Seth and Nick look at the likelihood the Golden Knights can repeat as Stanley Cup Champions, whether or not their goalie situation will have the same level of success this year that they did last year, and if players who were not retained will be voids too big to fill. They then discuss the Colorado Avalanche. With the Avs, Seth and Nick discuss how the Avs will fill vacancies left by players such as JT Compher, and whether or not Alexandar Georgiev can repeat his first year success. They finish with a discussion on the Edmonton Oilers, and whether or not the Oilers can get to the Stanley Cup Final and if there are big changes on the horizon with Ken Holland entering the final year of his deal. The Los Angeles Kings have made some moves this offseason. Acquiring Pierre Luc Dubois was no small feat. Making a splash comes with a price and that is usually giving up some promising players. Sarah Avampato joins the show to talk all about the Kings. Quinton Byfield may finally see consistent ice time and take on a more significant role. The goaltending raises some eyebrows and could be the largest roadblock for the Kings. Plus, are the Kings the new Toronto Maple Leafs? Getting out of the first round is not easy and the Edmonton Oilers have reminded LA of that. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! FanDuel Make Every Moment More. There was some actual Oilers news to talk about on this week's episode of Oilersnation Radio.Kicking off the podcast, we got started with a random conversation about woodpeckers attacking Jay's house. Why? It's a fair question given that woodpeckers have nothing to do with the Edmonton Oilers. Getting the podcast back on track, we got into the Oilers talk with a delicious debate about which PTO — Sam Gagner or Brandon Sutter — is most likely to turn their tryout into a contract. Will either of them even make it out of camp? Checking in on some former friends, we looked at the Zack Kassian PTO in Anaheim and Devin Shore landing a one-year with the Seattle Kraken. Seeing former Oilers land in other markets led us to discuss whether or not the bottom portion of our roster will have enough firepower to relieve the pressure on McDavid and Draisaitl to perform. What is a fair season for Nuge? What will Evander Kane do now that he's healthy? How will Connor Brown fare in his first year in Edmonton? Lastly, we wrapped up the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio with another round of Ask the Idiots, and Hot and Cold performers.Shoutout to the episode's sponsors: Betway: https://betway.com/en/sports Oodle Noodle: https://www.oodlenoodle.ca/ Cornerstone Insurance: https://www.cornerstoneins.ca/ Wilhauk Beef Jerky: https://www.wilhaukbeefjerky.com/Star Mechanical: https://starmechanical.ca/Visit www.nationgear.ca for merch and more.Follow us on Instagram @oilersnationdotcomFollow us on Twitter/Facebook/TikTok @OilersNationReach out to sales@thenationnetwork.com to connect with our Sales Team and discuss opportunities to partner with us! As the NHL regular season approaches, our preview of the Pacific Division continues with the stop in Western Canada. The Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks enter the season as retooling teams that have Stanley Cup Playoff potential as Wild Card teams. Both teams are welcoming in new Head Coaches in Rick Tocchet for the Canucks and Ryan Huska for the Flames. For the Edmonton Oilers, it has to be Stanley Cup or bust for them. They do have a few question marks themselves still on the defensive side of the puck and in net at Goalie. With that in mind, are the Edmonton Oilers the best chance for Canada to finally win a Stanley Cup? Is it the Canucks? Could it be the Flames?
The boys are getting beyond hyped for the nearing fantasy hockey draft on the horizon in the NHL world. Meaning Flip and Steele begin their division by division breakdown of all the teams across the NHL. Kicking things off with a fantasy hockey preview of the Pacific Division and the top pieces you need on your team. Likely, the Pacific Division is the easiest to predict in terms of outcomes in the standings, but there still leaves a ton of intrigue in terms of fantasy hockey talent. Looking at such players on the rise as Eeli Tolvanen of the Seattle Kraken and of course, Matty Beniers who should see his numbers increase across the fantasy board. You should also be paying attention to what should be the top-3 teams in the Pacific Division. The Vegas Golden Knights, Edmonton Oilers, and L.A. Kings will be the top three teams that makeup the top of this division. Pieces on Vegas you need to look at will be Jack Eichel and Adin Hill, as for the OIlers, fantasy hockey studs on the rise would be Stuart Skinner and Evan Bouchard, and as for the Kings, do not sleep on Arthur Kayliev and Adrian Kempe. Auston Matthews has put pen to paper and has become the NHL's highest paid player. The star center signed a four-year, $53 million extension with the Toronto Maple Leafs and fans couldn't be more excited! Does this make the Maple Leafs top dogs in the Atlantic division and what does this mean for the rest of Toronto's roster? Matthews wasn't the only one to secure a deal with their current club. Alexis Lafreniere re-upped his contract with the New York Rangers for another two seasons while Evan Bouchard remains an Edmonton Oiler for another two years as well. Both are young talented players on the verge of taking that next step to stardom but where should they be drafted in your fantasy league? With the Tampa Bay Lightning's long-term extension of forward Brandon Hagel, Flip and Steele have to take a look at some other similar-type players who are in line for a big uptick in both opportunity and likely also, fantasy hockey value. That means looking into some teams and situations where players who might not have regularly had the fantasy opportunity to succeed at an elite level. Making players like Max Domi and Tyler Bertuzzi of the Toronto Maple Leafs very attractive in terms of getting really good chances to put up some solid offensive and relevant fantasy hockey production. Other players on new teams that should get some newfound looks and big-time chances to prove their fantasy worth are Morgan Geekie of the Boston Bruins who have a lot of holes up the middle and of course, Connor Brown of the Edmonton Oilers who should get all the opportunity in the world to make some noise with the likes of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.
