Catherine, David and Matt tackle another set of listener questions, guest edited by Dave Courteen. How will Raducanu's US Open victory affect her career in the long run? Has the ship sailed for the Dimitrov-Nishikori-Raonic generation? In what order will Swiatek, Fernandez, Gauff and Raducanu be ranked at the end of 2022? Who will be the next first-time major winners? What would tennis be like if there were only one serve? Has electronic line calling been a positive or negative addition to the sport? What are some of the best matches to have featured both players playing well at the same time? And which player could use a Matt? What happens when a business that makes £10M a year suddenly stops making any income at all? AL & Tom speak to Dave Courteen, a guy who built his business Mosaic from the ground up. We discuss how he is getting through this difficult time and how he plans to adapt when the world opens up again.AL was supposed to cover the W60 Women's World Tennis Tournament at The Shrewsbury Club, which is owned by Mosaic. Then the world went into hibernation and it couldn't happen. We discuss this, plus Dave's new podcast which sounds awesome!
AL got the chance to have a really good chat with Dave Courteen and his daughter Rose. Dave has a fantastic story and he talks about his journey with his company Mosaic. How it all started for him and how he moulded it over the years which has lead him to being a huge part of dozens of Health and Spa Clubs including The Shrewsbury Club. Of course things have been challenging for Dave and everyone else working in the clubs as everything just stopped with the lockdown. AL finds out how Dave has adapted to things and the lessons that he has learned throughout. Rose is a fellow podcaster, she has a fantastic show called Talking Teenage Life and AL does what he does with all podcasters. He ran Rose through "The Gauntlet" testing Rose's abilities on the mic. It's a lot of fun, find out how she does!
