“Eu me sinto bem. No simples feminino, no entanto, o resultado ficou abaixo do esperado. Trabalho duro é a chave do processo”, insiste.

Zach Heinzerling, the Emmy-winning, Oscar-nominated director behind Netflix's new four-part documentary series Rafa. The series follows Rafael Nadal across the final year of his career, from his 2024 return through his retirement, while reaching back across two decades to tell the fuller story of one of the most decorated and most physically punished athletes in the history of tennis. The series goes beyond the 22 Grand Slams and 14 French Open titles to reveal what it cost to win them: a rare, incurable foot condition called Müller-Weiss syndrome, diagnosed when Rafa was just nineteen; years of aggressive medical intervention that left him with perforated intestines; and a 2022 Roland Garros run played on a foot deadened by nerve-blocking injections. For the first time on camera, Rafa removes his sock and shows the foot itself — an image he had guarded from the public for twenty years. The series also explores the formative role of his uncle and longtime coach Toni Nadal, whose tough-love methods shaped Rafa from the age of three; the anxiety and ritual beneath the on-court persona; and the rivalries with Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic that defined a generation, including the now-famous Laver Cup farewell where Rafa and Federer sat side by side and wept. Featuring testimony from Federer, Djokovic, John McEnroe, and the family, coaches, and inner circle who have stood beside Nadal his entire career, Rafa is less a highlight reel than a portrait of a champion in negotiation with his own body — and an answer, or an attempt at one, to the question of why he kept playing long after that body told him to stop.

This week, it is two huge topics that dominate the discussion. For those of you with a passion for football, the chaos engulfing Real Madrid at the moment on multiple fronts will no doubt have caught your attention. From the 70m signatures on a petition to remove Mbappe from the club to the Tchouameni/Valverde fight that ended up in hospital, not to mention the return of Jose Mourinho, there is a bucket load to dive into. While that may fall more on the gossip side, it is the product of the club's management and the culture that exists that clearly runs from the President to the dressing room. Add to this the increasingly heated dispute between tennis players and the Grand Slams over their pay packets, and we have ourselves a breakdown.Disclaimer:The content of this podcast is intended as commentary and opinion on matters of public interest in the sports industry. How to Close the Machine-Speed Gap in Cyber Defense with Nik Seetharaman of Wraithwatch

CIO Classified

Nik Seetharaman has watched the offensive side of cybersecurity adopt AI tools at a pace defenders can't match. So, he built a company to close that gap.  Before founding Wraithwatch, he was the first CIO of Anduril, a defense tech company he joined when it was 100 people and helped scale through hypergrowth. His path (Palantir to SpaceX to building AI-native cyber defense platforms for over a dozen federal agencies) gives him a view most CIOs and CISOs don't have. In this episode, Nik makes the case that AI has created a forcing function for CIOs and CISOs to finally work together, plus, shares how to run a pilot that actually moves the needle, why blocking AI tools backfires, and what the OpenClaw security drama gets right and wrong. 3 Takeaways: The CIO-CISO turf war is now a competitive disadvantage. Whoever figures out AI collaboration first wins. Treat every internal AI rollout like a startup: small cohort, parallel security review, measure the outcome in revenue. The best investment a new CIO can make isn't a security stack—it's coffee with people. Chapters: [01:46] What Wraithwatch Builds [05:25] AI Forces CIO / CISO Alignment [07:55] OpenClaw Security Tradeoffs [09:21] SecOps at Developer Speed [12:49] Rolling Out Risky Tools [14:44] Why Leaders Must Use AI [19:01] How to Reorg for the AI Era [22:30] Vendor Hunting for Grand Slams [25:49] $30M Contract and What's Next About Nik: Nik Seetharaman is the Founder and CEO of Wraithwatch, a next-generation cyber defense company building AI-native command-and-control platforms for the United States and its allies. He co-founded the company alongside fellow SpaceX alumni Grace Clemente and Carlos Moss. Before starting Wraithwatch, Nik served as the first CIO of Anduril, a defense technology company he joined when it was approximately 100 people, where he built the cybersecurity function from the ground up and saw the company through hypergrowth. His career spans cybersecurity leadership roles at Palantir, SpaceX, and Andel, giving him a rare vantage point across the offense-defense asymmetry that defines today's threat landscape.  Guest Highlights:"You can't have the attackers operating at the speed of a machine out here, and the defenders operating at the speed of a human in here." "Any business that's able to figure out this equation and execute it successfully is going to just crush their competition—because they're gonna move at warp speed and their competition will still be moving at human speed." "If I could rewind my first days at Andel, it's not to deploy more controls, it's not to learn about some new security stack or software—I would've just had more coffee with people. The human capital you build doing that pays off in spades. Because that's the thing that's rare in an age where the machines are taking over." “What do you do when you stop winning?”In this episode, Sean and Matt drop the highlight reel and talk candidly about what it actually feels like when a once high-flying brand stalls, hits flat revenue, or even starts shrinking. They unpack why every business has a “natural size,” why top-line obsession is the laziest definition of winning, and how to think more clearly about margin compression, momentum, and your own financial security as a founder. From redefining success beyond horsepower-style revenue numbers, to product, channel, and positioning pivots, to doing the brutal “Fog of War” cuts instead of slow bleeding out, this is a tactical, psychologically honest roadmap for operators trying to diagnose stalled growth and decide whether to push for the next level or intentionally right-size the business and finally take money off the table.Chapters00:00 – Cold open: what it feels like when winning stops02:20 – Why this episode matters: growth stalls, failure, and the messy middle04:06 – Defining “winning”: growth vs profit, lifestyle, and the natural size of a business07:18 – Survival first: financial security, changing goals, and evolving definitions of success12:51 – Diagnosing stalled growth: macro forces, misalignment, and internal blind spots17:42 – Tactical vs strategic stalls: product, category limits, and being in the wrong vehicle23:48 – Playing by the rules of the game: CAC, channels, and market realities33:13 – Diversification as defense: why building on rented land is dangerous39:00 – When winning tactics stop working: SEO hits, waves crashing, and preparing for stall-outs44:00 – Operating paranoid: assuming stalls, diversifying early, and the tradeoff of leaving money on the table50:00 – Changing the business: adding new product lines, multiple business units, and hedging inside your own brand56:00 – Rented land warning: Facebook media, platform dependency, and why omnichannel is non-negotiablePowered ByFulfil.iohttps://bit.ly/3pAp2vuThe Only Cloud ERP Designed to Efficiently Scale 8 and 9-Figure Brands.Northbeamhttps://www.northbeam.io/Richpanelhttps://www.richpanel.com/?utm_source=9O&utm_medium=podcast&utm_campaign=ytdescSarashttps://bit.ly/9OP-YtdescRivohttps://www.rivo.io/operatorsSubscribeSubscribe to The Marketing Operators Podcast:https://www.youtube.com/@MarketingOperatorsSubscribe to The Finance Operators:https://www.youtube.com/@FinanceOperatorsFOPS — Sign up to the 9 Operators newsletter:https://9operators.com/

Patrick Mouratoglou is one of tennis's most successful and unconventional coaches, known for his work with Serena Williams during her dominant return to form—helping her win 10 Grand Slams and reclaim the world number one ranking. But his journey to the top began in the darkest of places: a childhood marked by crippling shyness, zero self-esteem, and such severe social anxiety that he couldn't make eye contact without fear of vomiting. When his dream of becoming a professional tennis player was crushed at 15, that rock bottom moment became the catalyst for an extraordinary transformation. Today, Patrick coaches the next generation of champions, founded the innovative Ultimate Tennis Showdown (UTS), and has written a book about the "progress zone"—the space where confidence is built through small, daily victories. His approach to coaching is refreshingly transparent in a sport known for secrecy, and his insights on building champions apply far beyond the tennis court. What You'll Learn in This Episode: Why the worst thing that happens to you might be the best thing—how Patrick's devastating rejection at 15 became the turning point that saved his life and launched his coaching career The hidden truth about motivation—why players (and people) who seem "unmotivated" are actually protecting their confidence, and what really drives elite performance How to rebuild someone's confidence from zero—Patrick's unconventional methods, including secretly rigging matches to create winning streaks and psychological breakthroughs What separates champions from great players—the mindset traits of Serena Williams, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic that have nothing to do with talent The art of hearing what people think, not just what they say—Patrick's most powerful coaching skill and why "the weather is nice" means completely different things in London versus Miami

They debate the sport's failure to empower creators and players to use match footage, and the power struggle over prize money and revenue share at the Grand Slams. The crew also relives Sinner–Alcaraz's unforgettable Roland Garros epic, Coco Gauff's and Iga Świątek's seasons, Sabalenka's resilience, and the booming depth of American tennis on both tours. Finally, they zoom out to why tennis is “having a massive moment” globally and why that makes the structural mistakes and missed opportunities even more frustrating. Wine Talks with Paul Kalemkiarian
From the LA Lakers Locker Room to Napa Valley vines: Kelly E. Carter on Diversity, Story, and Wine Exploration

I can tell you it was like sitting with a long, lost neighbor when sitting with Kelly E. Carter.  And in fact, we were neighbors of sorts back in the day. It wasn't until I was searching for images to create the icons for this podcast did I realize I was in the presence of true maverick royalty.  Besides being a New York Times best selling author, she has reported from the greatest sporting events of the world: the NBA FInals, Super Bowls, Grand Slams, Stanley Cup Finals and much more. And more intriguing, she was the woman reporter in the locker room! I was so intrigued and we could have spoken for hours because she is the Founder of the wine tourism group, Napa Valley Noir. sitting down with Kelly E. Carter in the studio for this episode of Wine Talks was like taking a stroll down memory lane while simultaneously hitching a ride on a train heading straight for the future of wine tourism. There's something about Kelly—her energy, her wit, and just her knack for storytelling—that gets you thinking about the wine industry in ways that feel both nostalgic and freshly invigorating. We kicked things off with some good old home turf banter—Kelly's Windsor Hills childhood (Ray Charles and Ike & Tina Turner for neighbors, no less) and my own roots in Inglewood. Instantly, there was this shared sense that, before wine stole our hearts, Southern California had given us some pretty unique perspectives on culture and community. And as Kelly pointed out, “you'll never know everything” about winemaking, which is honestly the very reason some of us keep swirling, sipping, and studying. I know I do. What genuinely impressed me was Kelly's trajectory. She was the first female to cover the Lakers—how many people do you meet who set out in fourth grade to be a sports journalist and actually make it happen? She wasn't just content to report on sports. She made her mark, switched lanes into entertainment, and then into luxury travel writing, which eventually led her to Florence and Positano. It's the kind of layered journey you don't hear about every day. You talk to some folks, they've been in wine their whole lives. With Kelly, it's travel, sports, culture—all converging in the glass. We got into the nitty-gritty of wine and travel writing and how AI could never replace the boots-on-the-ground experience. I had to laugh—when Kelly plugged Napa into chatbots, she got recommendations for wineries that are closed for renovations. "You have to know the latest," she said, reminding me that the best wine stories are always written with real shoe leather, not just code. Her insights into Napa Valley tourism were equally compelling. As the founder of Napa Valley Noir, Kelly's passion lies in creating experiences rich in narrative, not just pouring cabs for folks who made it big in tech and want a taste of the valley lifestyle. She's all about partnerships with wineries that have soul, stories, and a genuine connection to their craft—whether it's a historic vineyard run by women or an impromptu meeting with Thomas Keller that leaves guests starstruck. Frankly, I couldn't agree more. The stories make the bottle—and the memories. That's what keeps this business alive, even as the market shifts. Kelly also talked about the recent surge in African American visitors to Napa, thanks in part to celebrity influence (LeBron, Kobe, you name it), and her drive to ensure these visitors experience the full magic Napa has to offer, not just what's on the surface. She's honest—her intake forms ask straight-up about comfort level on bottle prices. She knows how to match guests with the right wineries, sometimes calling in a favor for an extra pour or a charcuterie board, because that's how relationships form and deepen in this business. There's a lesson in Kelly's methods: whether it's a group of corporate execs, first-timers, or veteran collectors, she makes sure the experience is tailored and memorable. Maybe it's the aftermath of her own battles—her candor about beating a rare cancer got me thinking about perspective, gratitude, and the importance of living fully, whether it's raising a glass or hiking through a vineyard. Talking with Kelly reminded me why I started this podcast in the first place. It's the human stories behind the wines, the journeys of the people who bring them to life—and the shared desire to know just a little bit more, one sip, one story at a time.
