We love the WBC so much and it's not just for the espresso shot cellies or the hair that goes poof when a batting helmet comes off, but it could be. We are dismayed at the military overtones that Team USA embraces, and are pretty peeved about a specific Navy Seal brought in to the clubhouse to hype up the guys. On the other hand the young guys are fun to watch. We love the DR spirit – take a look at this Player's Tribune piece by Tatis, Jr. After that Team Venezuela upset Patti is feeling good about that Wilyer Abreu pick. We are almost at Opening Day so we've got our fantasy starting lineups selected from weeks of boyfriend selections, plus our pitching flocks – BOS for Pottymouth and DET for Patti. Eugenio Suarez tells the Cincinnati Enquirer about some immigration realities and the Reds seem to be proactive in protecting their players.  Anyone else?  And there's some World Cup cross training that raises more questions than it answers. We say, “there's fun before bedtime,” “I keep saying the word ‘scrappy' in my head,” and “We will be the first to say I told you so and f*(# off.” Fight the man, send your game balls to Meredith, get boosted, and find us on Bluesky @ncibpodcast, on Facebook @nocryinginbball, Instagram @nocryinginbball and on the Interweb at nocryinginbball.com. Xbox may have just signaled the future of its next generation hardware. At GDC this week Microsoft confirmed Project Helix, a next-generation Xbox initiative built around a custom AMD chip and designed to support both console and PC gaming. But what exactly is Helix — a traditional console successor or something closer to a living-room gaming PC? This week on Xbox Expansion Pass, Luke Lohr (InsipidGhost) and Captain Logun break down everything currently confirmed about Project Helix and what it could mean for the future of the Xbox ecosystem. We also analyze the early player numbers behind Bungie's Marathon, including Steam concurrency and early ownership estimates, and discuss whether the launch trajectory raises questions for Sony's live-service strategy. Plus, Epic Games is changing Fortnite's V-Bucks economy, meaning players will soon receive fewer V-Bucks for the same money. Additional topics include Xbox Gaming Copilot coming to consoles, a major milestone for Silent Hill 2 Remake, and several notable announcements coming out of GDC 2026.

Jack and Kaleb get together for perhaps their last "duo" show of the year, before the whole crew joins up for the first and second round of the NCAA Tournament, after Nebraska drops their first game of the Big Ten Tournament to Purdue in a game that never really was close. And this one wasn't hard to diagnose, as the two biggest problems for the Huskers were very obvious: turnovers and rebounding. Jack and Kaleb take a shot at diagnosing why those things have become such a problem, if either of them are fixable, or will be mitigated by different competition in the tournament. And folks, we cannot emphasize enough to you that Jack wanted no part of this show tonight, but as usual, he started to come around as the show went on, and in the end, he eked out a smile or two. After they talk through the loss, the guys discuss the potential seed/matchup/venue ramifications of it for the NCAA tournament and start to do some very initial analysis on who the 1st and possible 2nd round opponents might be for the Huskers, and give the listeners some comps to more familiar teams for context.      This week Sidey, Dan, and Cris fly solo — Simon's been called to Southampton on urgent business (he was spotted in a pub surrounded by tea cups, so make of that what you will). The dads are reviewing Ballad of a Small Player (2024), the new Netflix film from Edward Berger — the director behind All Quiet on the Western Front and Conclave — starring a very much on-form Colin Farrell. The Film: Colin Farrell plays Lord Doyle, a dissolute British gambler drowning in debt in the casinos of Macau — and if you thought Vegas was the gambling capital of the world, think again. Doyle owes 352,000 Hong Kong dollars to the house, is blagging his way past the front desk in a crumpled cravat, and somehow still looks magnificent. He falls in with a mysterious young woman at the Baccarat tables, and from there the film slides into gorgeous, ambiguous territory — is she real? Is any of this? And does it even matter when the rush of the bet is the only thing that feels true? Themes of addiction, redemption, obsession, and the question of whether you can ever really stop — all wrapped in the stylised, sun-drenched visual language of Macau's casino underworld. The lads give it two words each: "All in" (Dan), "Bizarre but funny" (Cris), and "Strong recommend" (Sidey). Consensus: go watch it. Top Five: Gardens The boys dig into their favourite cinematic, televisual, musical, and gaming gardens. From the gnome in Amélie and David Lynch's suburban lawn horror in Blue Velvet, to the brutal communal fields of Midsommar, Spirited Away's otherworldly beauty, and the garden in Saltburn that had certain members of the pod seeing quite a lot of a particular actor. Wonka's chocolate garden gets a nod, as does Miss Peregrine's hedge-portal to another time. Sidey & Reegs are also going to see Wu-Tang Clan at the O2. Marcus Montagnino and Elijah Kinney have been at the center of one of the most special seasons in Endicott College history. The Gulls sit at 28–1, fueled by the growth of a roster that has taken a major leap from last season to now becoming a legitimate national contender. Montagnino and Kinney have formed one of the most dynamic duos in Division III basketball, both earning All-Conference honors in the Conference of New England while consistently leading Endicott in big moments. Montagnino's story is one of the most unique in college basketball. A former walk-on at Xavier University who later played club basketball, he eventually found his opportunity at Endicott and quickly turned it into a historic career. In his first season with the Gulls, he averaged 22.4 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game, becoming the first NABC All-American in program history and the conference's Player of the Year. Meanwhile, Kinney—who developed at the highly respected Brimmer and May School prep program—has blossomed into a dominant two-way forward whose scoring and rebounding have elevated Endicott's ceiling even further. Now, the Gulls' remarkable season has them deep in March with their sights set on a national title. With a 28–1 record and the momentum of one of the best teams in program history, Montagnino and Kinney are leading Endicott into a massive Sweet 16 matchup against Illinois Wesleyan University on Friday. With both players playing the best basketball of their careers, the stage is set for a huge showdown as the Gulls chase a trip to the Elite 8. Available wherever you get your podcasts. March 10, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 104 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Tuesday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the additions the Pittsburgh Steelers made on Monday, the first day of the 2026 legal tampering period. Alex and I talk quite extensively about the Steelers trading for WR Michael Pittman Jr. and their signings of CB Jamel Dean and RB Rico Dowdle. We go over what is known about the contracts given to all three players and what we have seen on tape from all of them. We also grade each of the player additions. The Steelers also re-signed CB Asante Samuel Jr., ILB Cole Holcomb and DL Esezi Otomewo on Monday so we talk about all three of those new deals during this show. The Steelers also lost three of their own free agents on Monday in G Isaac Seumalo, RB Kenneth Gainwell, and CB James Pierre. We discuss the three deals those players signed with new teams during this show. Alex and I move forward to discuss the positions the Steelers might target as they move forward into the legal tampering period. We also go over a few individual players the team might consider signing. There's been a lot of recent smoke concerning the Dallas Cowboys possibly wanting to trade for Steelers ILB Patrick Queen, so Alex and I address that topic during this show. We go over why the Steelers might be willing to trade Queen, what they might be looking for as compensation for him, and what the team's plan might be if he's ultimately dealt before March 15. The Steelers officially received their 2026 compensatory draft picks on Monday, so Alex and I recap those. We also address where the Steelers stand right now as far as 2027 compensatory draft pick values go as we head into Tuesday. The Baltimore Ravens have lost quite a few of their own free agents so far, so Alex and I address that topic. We also address why Steelers C Zach Frazier and TE Darnell Washington are pretty happy with what they both observed on Monday. This 90-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the above recap. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Andy and Brendan are just about ready to head down to Ponte Vedra for a "major" March event, but we've already missed out on one Players tradition! Andy can't believe that the yearly TPC Sawgrass arrival videos did not make it into Sunday's Arnold Palmer Invitational broadcast. NBC couldn't cut away from a duel between Daniel Berger and Akshay Bhatia on the back nine that ended with Akshay's third playoff win on the PGA Tour. The two break down Bhatia's comeback win and standing in the game as one of the premier players under the age of 25. The constant comparisons between Rickie Fowler and Arnold Palmer and some complaints from Justin Thomas regarding the setup at Bay Hill also feature prominently in this Arnold Palmer Invitational recap. The Players DID release their featured groups on Sunday afternoon, leaving a spot for an injured(?) Rory McIlroy and a struggling Justin Thomas to be on non-stop coverage for the first two rounds. Andy's "Event of the Week," the Puerto Rico Open, was "must see TV" with a leaderboard full of young talent including John Daly II, Blades Brown, and winner Ricky Castillo. Patrick Reed notched another DP World Tour top 10, but could not stop the blaze of Dan Bradbury at the Joburg Open. Brendan then shifts the conversation to Jon Rahm's win at LIV Hong Kong, his first individual win since 2024. Neither Brendan nor Andy are moved much by this win for Rahm and point out that maybe playing a LIV schedule is not the best preparation for a major championship, unlike the test presented by Bay Hill this week. Lastly on results, Zach Johnson is one-for-one in his Champs Tour career, taking down the James Hardie Pro Football Hall of Fame Invitational! Sorry to all Ben Crane bettors, as he finished outside of the top 30 in his Senior Tour debut. This Gambling Podcast regrets the error.
