Chris Seilkop is a four-time Paralympian and longtime member of the U.S. men's sitting volleyball team. After losing his leg in a lawnmower accident at just seven years old, Chris refused to let tragedy define him. Instead, fueled by resilience, family support, and a love of sports, he built a life defined by perseverance. Along the way, he competed on the world stage, served others through his work with the YMCA and mentored individuals navigating life after amputation. Today, Chris shares how the childhood accident reshaped his life, the community that helped him move forward, and the mindset that carried him from a hospital bed to four Paralympic Games. He reflects on heartbreaking losses, meaningful victories, and the perspective that helped him keep going. My friends, if you've ever faced a setback that made you wonder what comes next, this conversation is for you. You'll leave reminded that life's hardest moments do not get the final word.

March 10, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 104 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Tuesday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the additions the Pittsburgh Steelers made on Monday, the first day of the 2026 legal tampering period. Alex and I talk quite extensively about the Steelers trading for WR Michael Pittman Jr. and their signings of CB Jamel Dean and RB Rico Dowdle. We go over what is known about the contracts given to all three players and what we have seen on tape from all of them. We also grade each of the player additions. The Steelers also re-signed CB Asante Samuel Jr., ILB Cole Holcomb and DL Esezi Otomewo on Monday so we talk about all three of those new deals during this show. The Steelers also lost three of their own free agents on Monday in G Isaac Seumalo, RB Kenneth Gainwell, and CB James Pierre. We discuss the three deals those players signed with new teams during this show. Alex and I move forward to discuss the positions the Steelers might target as they move forward into the legal tampering period. We also go over a few individual players the team might consider signing. There's been a lot of recent smoke concerning the Dallas Cowboys possibly wanting to trade for Steelers ILB Patrick Queen, so Alex and I address that topic during this show. We go over why the Steelers might be willing to trade Queen, what they might be looking for as compensation for him, and what the team's plan might be if he's ultimately dealt before March 15. The Steelers officially received their 2026 compensatory draft picks on Monday, so Alex and I recap those. We also address where the Steelers stand right now as far as 2027 compensatory draft pick values go as we head into Tuesday. The Baltimore Ravens have lost quite a few of their own free agents so far, so Alex and I address that topic. We also address why Steelers C Zach Frazier and TE Darnell Washington are pretty happy with what they both observed on Monday. This 90-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the above recap. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Are we living in a computer simulation? What once sounded like science fiction is now a serious conversation happening at the intersection of quantum physics, artificial intelligence, and the nature of consciousness. In this episode, Dr. JC Doornick sits down once again with MIT-educated computer scientist, entrepreneur, and author of The Simulation Hypothesis, Rizwan Virk. Together they explore one of the most provocative questions of our time: is reality truly fundamental—or is it more like a rendered environment generated by deeper layers of information? Rather than treating simulation theory as sensational speculation, Riz brings a disciplined and thoughtful approach that bridges modern science, ancient philosophy, and emerging technology. The conversation moves beyond the basics of simulation theory into deeper territory—examining consciousness as a potential user interface for reality, the difference between living like a Player versus an NPC, and how artificial intelligence may be accelerating humanity toward what some call the “Simulation Point.” Along the way, Dr. JC introduces a fascinating perspective from quantum physics—the Higgs Field—suggesting that even the space between objects is alive with energy, a kind of hidden dancer giving matter its appearance. If everything we experience is patterned energy at different densities, what does that mean for our attempt to understand reality itself? Most importantly, the conversation tackles the question that matters most to everyday life: if this is a simulation, does our suffering, purpose, and joy still matter? Whether you're curious about simulation theory, fascinated by consciousness, or simply wondering what it means to truly be present in your own life, this episode invites you to explore the possibility that reality may be far stranger—and more meaningful—than we ever imagined. Losing your way can sometimes be the beginning of finding who you really are. Robert Pallante's life revolved around hockey from a young age. Growing up in the Toronto area, he played at the highest levels, earned a college scholarship, and chased the dream so many young athletes believe defines them. But when his hockey journey didn't unfold the way he expected, Rob was left struggling with identity, confidence, and unanswered questions that followed him long after he left the game. Years later, a near-fatal motorcycle accident forced Robert into stillness, reflection, and a complete reset. Lying in a hospital bed fighting for his life, he realized he was under no obligation to remain the person he had been. This episode explores what it means to separate who you are from what you do, how pain can become perspective, and why rebuilding your identity is possible at any stage of life. Guest Bio Robert Pallante grew up in Mississauga, Ontario, where hockey shaped much of his early life. Drafted into the OHL and later earning a scholarship to Michigan Tech, Robert pursued the sport at a high level before continuing into junior and professional camps. After leaving hockey, he spent over two decades building a successful career in sales, business development, and corporate leadership. In 2015, Robert survived a near-death motorcycle accident that led to eight surgeries, 40 days in the hospital, and years of rehabilitation. That experience became a turning point, reshaping his priorities and purpose. Today, Robert works with young athletes to help them build an invincible mindset, develop strong values, and prepare for life both during and after sports. He is a single father to two children, Luca and Ava. The last time I played 1860: Railways on the Isle of Wight, I found myself in the lead from fairly early on. As the game progressed, that lead only kept growing. Each round, the gap widened until it was clear that nobody had a realistic way to catch up with me. The game carried on, turns were taken, but the excitement and tension had gone. The game had become a fight for second place. I call this soft elimination, and it is especially common in longer games, when you are technically still playing, but no longer really competing. In this article, I want to talk about this a bit more.Read the full article here: https://tabletopgamesblog.com/2026/03/10/killing-me-softly-a-look-at-player-elimination-topic-discussion/Useful Links1860: Railways on the Isle of Wight review: https://tabletopgamesblog.com/2025/06/28/1860-railways-on-the-isle-of-wight-digital-eyes/Love Letter review: https://tabletopgamesblog.com/2021/01/23/love-letter-saturday-review/King of New York review: https://tabletopgamesblog.com/2020/04/25/king-of-new-york-saturday-review/Nemesis review: https://tabletopgamesblog.com/2022/06/18/nemesis-saturday-review/Splotter Spellen: https://www.splottershop.com/Wingspan review: https://tabletopgamesblog.com/2019/03/16/wingspan/The Quacks of Quedlinburg review: https://tabletopgamesblog.com/2020/06/06/the-quacks-of-quedlinburg-saturday-review/Survive: Escape from Atlantis review: https://tabletopgamesblog.com/2021/04/17/survive-escape-from-atlantis-digital-eyes/Betrayal at the House on the Hill review: https://tabletopgamesblog.com/2023/01/14/betrayal-at-house-on-the-hill-3rd-edition-saturday-review/MusicIntro Music: Bomber (Sting) by Riot (https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/)Main music: Vital Whales by Unicorn Heads (https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/)SupportIf you want to support this podcast financially, please check out the links below:Ko-Fi: https://ko-fi.com/TabletopGamesBlogPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/tabletopgamesblogWebsite: https://tabletopgamesblog.com/support/(Photo by Aleksandra Sapozhnikova on Unsplash)

Andy and Brendan are just about ready to head down to Ponte Vedra for a "major" March event, but we've already missed out on one Players tradition! Andy can't believe that the yearly TPC Sawgrass arrival videos did not make it into Sunday's Arnold Palmer Invitational broadcast. NBC couldn't cut away from a duel between Daniel Berger and Akshay Bhatia on the back nine that ended with Akshay's third playoff win on the PGA Tour. The two break down Bhatia's comeback win and standing in the game as one of the premier players under the age of 25. The constant comparisons between Rickie Fowler and Arnold Palmer and some complaints from Justin Thomas regarding the setup at Bay Hill also feature prominently in this Arnold Palmer Invitational recap. The Players DID release their featured groups on Sunday afternoon, leaving a spot for an injured(?) Rory McIlroy and a struggling Justin Thomas to be on non-stop coverage for the first two rounds. Andy's "Event of the Week," the Puerto Rico Open, was "must see TV" with a leaderboard full of young talent including John Daly II, Blades Brown, and winner Ricky Castillo. Patrick Reed notched another DP World Tour top 10, but could not stop the blaze of Dan Bradbury at the Joburg Open. Brendan then shifts the conversation to Jon Rahm's win at LIV Hong Kong, his first individual win since 2024. Neither Brendan nor Andy are moved much by this win for Rahm and point out that maybe playing a LIV schedule is not the best preparation for a major championship, unlike the test presented by Bay Hill this week. Lastly on results, Zach Johnson is one-for-one in his Champs Tour career, taking down the James Hardie Pro Football Hall of Fame Invitational! Sorry to all Ben Crane bettors, as he finished outside of the top 30 in his Senior Tour debut. This Gambling Podcast regrets the error. Check back on Tuesday as Andy and Brendan go live(?) to preview the 2026 Players Championship! Thank you to Optum for their support of our Players Championship coverage.

We have the guild available with the guild bank open and invite others to join us in Outland. In other Classic news: Reminder that there are now 3 launchers for Classic (‘Original’, ‘Anniversary’, ‘Era’) “Original” Classic is progressing with Mists of Pandaria. The guild is available on Horde side on Galakras. If I have this right, MoP classic uses the modern guild interface so we have the new interface showing 651 members. “Anniversary” Classic which is now at TBC as mentioned above. “Era” classic is a separate launcher with 3 game modes: ‘Classic Era’ which is forever frozen in the original game (pre-TBC). We were on Mankrik here but really no activity or guild. “Season of Discovery” which is where experiments were performed by the devs which some expect may lead to the anticipated “Classic Plus” many hope for. We have no real activity there currently. “Hardcore” is the 3rd game mode in the Era client and probably our 2nd most active within the classic modes. We have an Alliance side guild on Doomhowl and some activity on the Horde side of Doomhowl but no guild currently. Lars plans to return to his attempt at a “Solo Self-Found” run to 60 in Hardcore but that has been on pause for quite some time. Saints created chances through Scienza, Larin and Azaz, while Fulham also struggled to convert promising moments in a match that rarely found its rhythm. The decisive moment finally arrived in stoppage time when Fin Azaz was brought down in the box and Ross Stewart calmly converted from the spot. The result not only sends Saints into the last eight of the FA Cup but continues the remarkable turnaround under Tonda Eckert. When he arrived, the club sat 21st in the Championship — now Saints are pushing for the play-offs while also making progress in the cup.We break down the key moments from the Fulham game, including the controversial disallowed goal, the missed chances at both ends and the impact of Fulham making nine changes to their side. We also discuss confidence within the squad, the importance of extending the unbeaten run and who stood out in our Player of the Week discussion. The focus then turns quickly back to the league as Saints travel to West Brom on Wednesday night, with the Championship schedule beginning to intensify. With West Brom currently on a long winless run, Saints will be hoping to continue their momentum and keep climbing the table. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

The Slanted Attic Experience: Episode 56 "Adam" Football, Fantasy, and a Galaxy Far, Far AwayTyler welcomes back Adam for his second solo episode and third appearance overall, and this one does not disappoint. A Central Virginia native, newlywed, and self-proclaimed football devotee with a fantasy record that somehow still trails his wife's, Adam brings the kind of energy that makes an hour feel like ten minutes. The guys kick things off breaking down NFL Week 3, the biggest storylines of the season, and where the Cowboys and Steelers stand heading forward. Fantasy football takes center stage with injury updates, armchair GM takes, and a deep dive into just how brutally hard it actually is to coach in the NFL. The Micah Parsons trade drama gets its full breakdown from a Cowboys fan's perspective before the conversation shifts to team chemistry, the Eagles' cohesion from last season, and the ongoing debate around running back contracts. Baker Mayfield and the Buccaneers get their moment, the Chiefs dynasty comes under scrutiny, and Pittsburgh's defense raises the question everyone is asking: is it a scheme problem? From there, Tyler and Adam pivot to the studio, teasing the upcoming Maul show dropping in 2026 and sparking a full Star Wars power level debate. The conversation expands into other fantasy universes, Andy Weir's work, war films and shows, Eragon and the world of fantasy novels, and a Slanted Attic Book Club segment before landing on the Dune films. Things close out naturally, until the recording limit has other plans.Guest Panel:Adam: Born and raised in Central Virginia and freshly married to his best friend and partner of five years, Adam is living his best life, even if his fantasy football team is not quite keeping up with his wife's.
