October is here! And that means a visit from our favorite Horror Host Hall of Famer, Dr. Gangrene! Thankfully, the guys have a slew of interesting horror topics to break down: Jamie Lee Curtis is returning to Halloween, The Walking Dead is upon us, IT is racking up dollars at the box office, and... well, The Mummy is out for rental. These two classic universal monster horror movie buffs try to dissect what went wrong with The Mummy, if they can fix it, and how they'd approach making these movies if they were given the keys to the kingdom.
In which Kurt welcomes two co-hosts to discuss the week's geekly news headlines. First up, Horror Host Hall of Famer Dr. Gangrene educates Kurt on the significance of Black Christmas, while also theorizing on the future of Michael Myers and the Halloween franchise now that John Carpenter is back in the fold. This leads to Friday the 13th discussion and the necessity for a Jason backstory. On the back end, The Weasel talks to Kurt about the Rogue One reshoots, the polarizing new Captain America twist, and whether The Terminator is the worst film franchise ever. Finally, the guys view X-Men Apocalypse and share their thoughts.
In which Kurt sits down with actual Horror Host Hall of Famer Dr. Gangrene to talk about all things horror! Specifically, they sort out the positives of The Witch and whether you might want to check it out. The guys also discuss their excitement over Tom Cruise and Johnny Depp joining the Universal Monster Movie slate, the rebranded Tales From The Crypt TV series, and the good doctor's own writing. Finally, Dave Jahblahblahblah rejoins Kurt to discuss episode 2 of the new Walking Dead season. Michonne and Rick. Jesus. Carl's magic hat. And... Teen Wolf vs Hoosiers?
Larry Underwood has been nominated for an Emmy, won two Rondos, been drawn into THE Dick Tracy comic strip, appeared on Spike TV, and was written about in USA Today. And just this year, Larry was inducted into the Horror Host Hall of Fame, all from just getting an itch to honor his own childhood horror host Sir Cecil Creape and be creative himself. But more than just his alter-ego Dr. Gangrene, Larry showed his creativity from a young age, including starting his own independent comic book publishing company. He sits down with Kurt to discuss his journey, his feelings on horror hosting, and how this strange outlook came to be... You're never going to hear a nicer guy, we promise.
