Send a textIn this episode, we discuss the latest news on the Harry Potter TV show and what it might mean for the story. Enjoy!Topics/Summary:·      1:18 So what happened? HBO announced that they are already casting for season two, and they also mentioned that they have cast Louis Shelton as future Ron for the first season. He won't play a huge role in the story, but it opens the door.·      9:14 Filmmakers are following the books closely. You could also argue that they are completely branching out, but we have to know more before we can say for sure. With characters like the Flamels, the TV is breaking new ground. But with a future Ron, we technically have seen him before.·      15:16 Flash-futures are dangerous. Imagine we are in the Great Hall or something like that and we flash forward. We watch a scene that is to come, and then are pushed back to the present. In that moment, the present loses some value. It feels like we're losing ground, even though we saw something from the future.·      21:09 It is very possible to avoid that danger. If we keep the flashes brief and avoid full scenes, and integrate them into the story, the flashes will only enhance the present. Dumbledore thinking about the future in his office is a great opportunity to explore this.·      25:46 Despite all the negatives, there is a huge upside. If we avoid the full scenes, the filmmakers can make these visions of the future truly impactful. The truth is we don't know everything. Some actors and creative choices are still unknown to us, so there is still potential to be surprised.Having anything you want to hear or say? Click here for a voice submission or here for text. In this Jewish Inspiration Podcast episode (Day 130), Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe continues the Gate of Flattery (Chanufa) from Orchos Tzaddikim, detailing the profound dangers of associating with or validating the wicked (resha'im), even without direct praise.Key teachings:Befriending the wicked is flattery — Associating with evildoers implies acceptance (“I'm okay with you as you are”) and gives them validation. It's itself an act of chanufa.Five major dangers of such association: You love someone who hates the Creator—contradicting loyalty to Hashem. You absorb their negative ways (inevitable influence).Others see your friendship and think “if he's friends with him, it's okay for me too”—spreading the rot.Even if they don't imitate, they become accustomed to seeing forbidden things. You fail to protest/reprimand when able—making you accountable for their sins (mitzvas tochacha).Reprimand only when accepted — If they won't listen, don't speak (avoids lashon hara and escalation). Instead, pray for their improvement.Personal story — A woman was deeply hurt by another's nasty comment in class. Rabbi advised praying for the offender's insight rather than confrontation. A week later, she returned transformed—now loving the person and praying for their growth, turning pain into an opportunity for elevation.Becoming “big” (gadol) — True greatness means expanding beyond self: responsibility for spouse, children, community, Klal Yisrael. Start small (self-improvement), then influence outward. Rabbi Saul Salanter's journey: couldn't change the world → country → town → neighborhood → family → only self.Practical application — Don't compare or compete; maximize your unique gifts. Patience and kindness (e.g., not honking in traffic) reflect self-respect and prevent spiritual “bankruptcy.” Small acts of restraint build character and influence others positively. The rabbi urges: begin at home, expand responsibility outward, and live with self-awareness—true greatness is selflessness and influence through example, not ego._____________This Podcast Series is Generously Underwritten by Peter & Becky BotvinRecorded at TORCH Centre in the Levin Family Studios (B) to a live audience on January 5, 2026, in Houston, Texas.Released as Podcast on February 20, 2026_____________This series on Orchos Tzadikim/Ways of the Righteous is produced in partnership with Hachzek.Join the revolution of daily Mussar study at hachzek.com.We are using the Treasure of Life edition of the Orchos Tzadikkim (Published by Feldheim)_____________Listen, Subscribe & Share: Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/jewish-inspiration-podcast-rabbi-aryeh-wolbe/id1476610783Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/4r0KfjMzmCNQbiNaZBCSU7) to stay inspired! Share your questions at aw@torchweb.org or visit torchweb.org for more Torah content.  _____________About the Host:Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe, Director of TORCH in Houston, brings decades of Torah scholarship to guide listeners in applying Jewish wisdom to daily life.  To directly send your questions, comments, and feedback, please email: awolbe@torchweb.org_____________Support Our Mission:Our Mission is Connecting Jews & Judaism. Whether it be in politics, public health, or corporate finance, why are people more likely to interpret facts or data in a way that fits their preconceived notions about the world as opposed to searching for the fundamental truth?  A new paper from the Harvard Business School called, Sharing Models to Interpret Data (by Joshua Schwartzstein and Adi Sunderam)studies the propensity for people to adopt interpretations to data based on their community's beliefs, and why this can lead to less accurate conclusions. Hosts and finance professors Jonathan Berk and Jules van Binsbergen are joined by the paper's co-author  Adi Sunderam, who is a professor of corporate finance at Harvard Business School, a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, and a co-editor of the Journal of Finance. The conversation covers the complexity of Bayesian updating and how the process is improperly deployed in today's thinking, not only in corporate decision-making but also on a sociological level. They also discuss Sunderam's model for explaining how people interpret data, why people are more likely to fall into group-belief dynamics, and if there are any interventions that would lead to better decision-making.  Read Adi Sunderam and Joshua Schwartzstein's paper: Sharing Models to Interpret Data  Find All Else Equal on the web:  https://lauder.wharton.upenn.edu/allelse/ All Else Equal: Making Better Decisions Podcast is a production of the UPenn Wharton Lauder Institute through University FM.  Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. In this conversation, I'm talking to my Christian sisters in business about why God's will isn't something we "figure out" like a formula. But it's something we learn through relationship. Because if we don't know His voice, we'll either move in fear, move in striving, or we'll start calling our own thoughts "God" and then wondering why nothing has peace on it. I'm breaking down the difference between flesh and Spirit, and why discernment matters so much when you're making decisions with money, time, family, and your calling on the line. I talk about stillness, not as a cute spiritual idea, but as a real practice that re-centers you so you can actually recognize what's Him and what's pressure. I also give practical ways to test what you think you're hearing, why community matters for discernment, and why you need to be careful with the phrase "God told me" when you haven't actually submitted it to Scripture, peace, and wise counsel. The goal isn't to be dramatic or mystical. The goal is to build holy confidence rooted in truth, so you're not led by anxiety or hype, but by intimacy and obedience. If you're a Christian woman author and you feel stuck because you love Jesus, you wrote the book, but you're struggling to sell it and actually bring in income without turning into a full-time marketer, I made something for you. The 7 Day Book Sales Reset is a short daily training series that resets how you sell your book in today's market and walks you into a simple, clear system that creates steady sales without exhausting you. (8:00) This relates to GLP-1 in the fact that there is nothing you can do that doesn't cause a consequence somewhere else. (11:30) Vinnie discusses dealing with his second bout of cancer a couple of years ago. He is determined to be as active and healthy as possible. Eating strict NSNG seems to have helped him fight cancer more than if he had not been eating clean. (12:00) If you lose weight the old-fashioned way through proper eating, about 20-25% of your weight loss will be muscle. (16:00) However, that can be offset with exercise, particularly strength training. With GLP-1, a person will lose at least 40% of their muscle mass. (17:00) This matters because a lack of muscle contributes to all-cause mortality, and you can die sooner. Sarcopenia (natural muscle loss) occurs with age, typically starting around age 35, but it can be significantly slowed with strength training. (18:00) The number one drug Vinnie used to get asked about was statins, but now it's about GLP-1s. (21:00) If a person is losing a lot of muscle on GLP-1s, you can bet it's affecting their heart, because the heart is muscle. In this episode of Alexa's Input (AI), Alexa Griffith talks with Wendy Chin, CEO of PureCipher, about building what she calls an artificial immune system for AI, a framework designed to make data, models, and inference tamper-evident across the AI lifecycle. They unpack what data poisoning really means (training data, weights and biases, inference inputs), why small amounts of targeted poison can create outsized model misbehavior, and how generative AI lowers the barrier to sophisticated malware. The conversation expands into the security implications of agent-to-agent communication via MCP, digital twins, and why we don't have the luxury of “shipping now and securing later.” It's a wide-ranging discussion that moves from practical threat models to the philosophical frontier of what happens as AI becomes more human-like, and more autonomous.Podcast LinksWatch: https://www.youtube.com/@alexa_griffithRead: https://alexasinput.substack.com/Listen: https://creators.spotify.com/pod/profile/alexagriffith/More: https://linktr.ee/alexagriffithWebsite: https://alexagriffith.com/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/alexa-griffith/Find out more about the guest at:LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/wendy-chin-ctg/Website: https://www.purecipher.com/Chapters00:00 Introduction to AI Security01:16 Understanding Data Poisoning04:38 The Dangers of Malware in AI07:46 AI's Moral Dilemmas and Decision Making08:45 Building Empathy in AI13:07 The Role of Good Data in AI Training17:02 PureCypher's Artificial Immune System22:34 Digital Twins and Their Implications25:22 Nurturing AI Like a Child30:53 Data Therapy for AI36:13 The Future of AI and Human Interaction38:45 The Dark Side of AI: Hacking and Security45:03 Global Perspectives on AI Security48:11 MCP Agents and Security Concerns51:41 Philosophical Implications of AI and Human Connection01:00:04 The Sci-Fi Future of AI and Humanity

In this message, we follow Gideon's story to see how starting well and finishing well aren't the same—especially after success. Gideon trusted God in weakness, but after victory he began relying on himself, chasing recognition, and building a “replacement” for dependence on the Lord. This is a warning about the spiritual danger of success and an invitation to return to prayer, accountability, and humble faith. Ultimately, we're pointed to Jesus—the true Savior who succeeds where we fail and calls us back to grace-filled dependence on God.

Damir and Sam are joined by Cambridge philosopher Henry Shevlin of the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence for a raucous and rambling conversation about the state of artificial intelligence. Is it about to get conscious, take all of our jobs, and destroy the world? Or is all this industry hype?Henry starts off the conversation asserting that AI already has a kind of “agency,” even if it's not yet the full kind that some skeptics are looking for. Damir and Sam push back on AI's reliability and proclivity to hallucinations, and wonder whether AI can create anything genuinely novel or creative. The conversation turns to autonomy and risk. Can “artificial superintelligence” ever be reached, asks Sam? Henry points to AI coding agents already improving themselves. Damir objects to anthropomorphizing AI and prefers treating these systems as powerful tools capable runaway failures — but nothing more. Henry disagrees, ending the conversation with a plea for AIs getting consideration as moral entities at some point.Required Reading:* “Superintelligence: Paths, Dangers, Strategies,” by Nick Bostrom (Amazon).* The Creative Mind: Myths and Mechanisms, by Margaret Boden (Amazon).* “Disambiguating Anthropomorphism and Anthropomimesis in Human-Robot Interaction,” by Minja Axelsson and Henry Shevlin (arxiv.org).* “Real Patterns,” by Daniel C. How did Lucky Charms end up scoring "healthier" than eggs on the Tufts Food Compass, and what does that say about modern nutrition advice? If you've ever found yourself confused by food nutrient rankings like this, this episode is for you. In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Ty Beal, a global nutrition researcher known for bringing real nuance to the most polarizing food debates (animal foods, ultra-processed foods, vegetable oils, saturated fat… yes, all of it!). Ty breaks down what nutrient density actually means, why micronutrient deficiencies are far more common than most people realize (even in high-income countries), and why we can't "fortify our way" out of poor diet quality. He also explains the thinking behind his global nutrient-density rating system, built around the nutrients people are most likely to be missing, and adjusted for bioavailability. You'll learn: Why "quick energy" foods can look healthy on paper… while leaving your body undernourished The surprising prevalence of micronutrient deficiencies—and why they matter for energy, cognition, and long-term health What most nutrient-rating systems miss (and why ultra-processed foods can score absurdly high) The top nutrient-dense foods to keep stocked in your kitchen Why the food matrix matters, and why fortified nutrients aren't equivalent to nutrients in whole foods Ty's balanced take on saturated fat, red meat, and the often-unspoken truth about nutrition science A practical look at what Ty actually eats to optimize nutrient density (without being dogmatic) If you're tired of black-and-white nutrition advice and want a smarter, more grounded way to think about food quality, this episode will help you cut through the noise and focus on what actually supports long-term health.
