Fisher Ames didn't just worry about democracy, he despised it.  In this episode of America's Founding Series, the life and ideas of Fisher Ames reveal why the Founders feared mob rule, moral absolutism, and political urgency driven by emotion rather than reason. Ames believed liberty survives only when passion is restrained by law, time, and reflection. As modern mobs reject disagreement, delegitimize institutions, and claim authority over the law itself, his warnings feel less like history and more like prophecy. What You'll Learn Why Fisher Ames believed democracy is driven by impulse, not reason The difference between citizens and mobs, why disagreement becomes betrayal, and the impact of social media on polarization and the mob mentality  How the Constitution was designed to slow emotional surges before they become law Why gridlock is a feature, not a flaw, in a functioning republic How moral certainty and urgency lead societies toward instability and despotism This episode connects America's founding principles to modern unrest and explains why a republic cannot survive when mobs replace law and emotion replaces judgment.

Synopsis:  An AI revolution is underway, but so is the resistance. This show is made possible by you! To become a sustaining member go to LauraFlanders.org/donateDescription:  An AI revolution is underway, but so is the resistance. People across the country are feeling the strain of the huge energy-sucking data processing centers that AI requires, and telling their elected officials to slow down or stop new big tech projects for firms like OpenAI, Amazon, Google, Facebook and Microsoft. Data from a 2025 Pew study shows that only 17 percent of Americans think AI will have a positive impact over the next 20 years. But it's a David vs. Goliath battle. Today's guests say AI expansion is not a red or blue issue; it's about who gets to decide how human and natural resources are distributed, who controls the technology, and who stands to benefit. Faiz Shakir is the Founder and Executive Director of the labor-focused news platform More Perfect Union, and serves as a political advisor for Senator Bernie Sanders. John Cassidy, staff writer at the New Yorker, is the author of the recent book, “Capitalism and Its Critics: A History: From the Industrial Revolution to AI”, in which he draws our attention back to the Luddites, the 18th century workers whose revolt deserves our closer attention. Plus, our correspondent's coverage of a shocking scene at a public comment meeting in Wisconsin when a local woman was arrested and dragged away. If AI is the new face of capitalism, what is the new alternative?“Luddites, when I was growing up, was a term of abuse. It was people who were sort of antediluvians and didn't understand the modern world. . . . They understood the modern world as it was in their times perfectly, and they saw it was moving against them, and they saw that the political system wasn't coming to their defense.” - John Cassidy“. . . There's more and more pushback, which hopefully portends the possibility that a lot of these communities can strike better deals if they are going to have data centers. There's no reason why we can't be asking that the teachers are well paid, that the electricity rates don't go up, that we have decent affordable housing in those communities. That is all possible because we're playing with incredible amounts of dollars and deep-pocketed people . . . ” - Faiz ShakirGuests:•  John Cassidy: Staff Writer, The New Yorker; Author, Capitalism and Its Critics: A History: From the Industrial Revolution to AI•  Faiz Shakir: Founder & Executive Director, More Perfect Union; Political Advisor & Former Campaign Manager, Senator Bernie Sanders Watch the episode released on YouTube; PBS World Channel 11:30am ET Sundays and on over 300 public stations across the country (check your listings, or search here via zipcode). Summary In this episode, Ali Damron discusses the challenges many face in their healing journeys, particularly when they feel they are doing everything right but still not seeing results. She emphasizes the importance of understanding the mind-body connection, the dangers of over-optimization, and how tracking health metrics can lead to hypervigilance. Ali encourages listeners to trust their bodies and find balance in their health practices, while also addressing the role of uncertainty in healing. Takeaways Many patients do more than they need to for healing. The brain's perception of danger affects bodily functions. Over-optimization can lead to increased stress and symptoms. Tracking health metrics can shift from helpful to harmful. Hypervigilance can create a cycle of anxiety and symptoms. The body is capable of healing without constant intervention. Trusting your body is crucial for effective healing. Uncertainty is a natural part of the healing process. Less monitoring can lead to better health outcomes. Healing requires a nuanced approach, not a one-size-fits-all solution Sound bites "Our mind and body are not separate." "The body can heal from crazy things." "Data is not the enemy." The discussion breaks down what EMFs are, where they come from, and how modern life keeps us immersed in non-stop electromagnetic fields. The episode walks through the electromagnetic spectrum in accessible terms, exploring the difference between ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and why health authorities claim certain exposures are “safe,” while others raise serious concerns. Jordan and Nate examine historical research, suppressed studies, and whistleblowers who warned about EMF risks decades ago. Most importantly, the conversation turns practical, offering realistic ways to reduce everyday exposure. From phone habits and Wi-Fi placement to grounding, wired alternatives, and lifestyle adjustments, this episode focuses on awareness, mitigation, and personal responsibility in a highly electrified world. This is a foundational episode for anyone questioning modern convenience culture and looking for simple ways to protect their health in an increasingly wireless environment.

While the excitement is high, hosts Mark Longo and Dan Passarelli highlight a critical technical risk that many retail traders overlook—Contra-Exercise. Episode Summary The "0DTE era" has officially expanded beyond cash-settled indices like the SPX. With single-name equity options now listing for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, traders face a new logistical hurdle: physical settlement. Unlike cash-settled indices, equity options result in the delivery of actual stock, making the after-hours window a potential minefield for "pin risk" and unexpected assignments. Key Discussion Points: The 0DTE Expansion: Why names like IBIT, NVDA, and TSLA are joining the zero-day fray and what it means for market volatility. Understanding Contra-Exercise: The mechanics of the "Do Not Exercise" (DNE) order and how to force the exercise of out-of-the-money options. The After-Hours Window: Why the 4:00 PM ET close isn't the end of your risk, and how news after the bell can trigger "ghost" assignments. Broker Deadlines: A breakdown of how different brokers handle the cutoff times for contra-instructions. Risk Management: Why the "best case scenario" is almost always closing your position before the closing bell. In Matthew 7:21-23, Jesus addresses the dangers of false Christianity. He confronts the people who say to him "Lord, Lord" but do not live in obedience to the Father. He makes clear that not everyone who says (and even sincerely believes) that they are a Christian will go to heaven. Rather, Jesus says that there will be "many" who thought themselves to be saved, who thought themselves to be right with God, but on the final day he will say to them, "Depart from me, you workers of lawlessness, I never knew you."For this reason, this passage is extremely important to help us understand what it really does and does not mean to be a Christian. It is crucial to help us understand if our profession of Jesus as Lord is a genuine profession.

We discuss why masking these symptoms with cortisone shots or anti-inflammatories often leads to further injury and why athletes would rather feel pain than nothing at all. Dr. Skip explains the anatomy of the neck and lower back to show exactly where the "kink in the hose" occurs and why treating the wrist for hand numbness often misses the root cause in the spine. In This Episode You Will Learn: Facial Numbness: How to distinguish between a stroke, Bell's Palsy, and an upper cervical subluxation. The Cortisone Trap: Why injections only reduce inflammation temporarily but do not fix the mechanical pressure on the nerve. Hand Numbness: Why tingling hands at night is often a neck alignment issue (C4-T1), not just a mattress problem. Sciatica and Foot Drop: The specific signs of disc herniation and when you need to seek immediate medical attention. Raynauds Phenomenon: Why cold, white fingers are actually a nervous system regulation issue. Pain vs. Numbness: Why pain is a helpful communicator and numbness is dangerous for injury prevention. In this powerful and thought-provoking episode of the 9941 Podcast, Granger, Tyler, Parker and AntMan tackle a rapidly growing cultural trend: AI girlfriends, boyfriends, and digital soulmates. What starts as a discussion about emerging AI companion technology quickly becomes a deep, biblical examination of love, loneliness, identity, and God’s design for human relationships. The guys explore how artificial intelligence is being marketed as emotional companionship — even romantic partnership — and why that trend poses serious spiritual, emotional, and societal dangers. They reference real-world examples like hologram companions and AI chatbot “relationships,” including platforms that introduced erotic roleplay features and the emotional fallout when those features were removed. Using Scripture as their foundation, the conversation moves into what the Bible teaches about love, human connection, and God’s design for marriage. Passages from 2 Timothy 4, Proverbs 14, and Romans 1 are used to show how redefining love and pursuing artificial substitutes for real relationships leads people away from truth and toward spiritual harm. The hosts also address deeper heart issues behind the appeal of AI relationships — loneliness, sexual temptation, fear of rejection, and the desire for unconditional affirmation. They emphasize that while AI may seem safe and customizable, it ultimately replaces real sanctifying relationships and distracts people from Christ, the Church, and the gospel. The episode closes with a clear gospel message, reminding listeners that true love, fulfillment, and rest are found in Jesus alone — not in manufactured affection or digital fantasy. The guys issue a firm warning against pursuing romantic or emotional relationships with AI and encourage believers to trust God with their singleness, relationships, and longing for connection. *************** Follow the show: Instagram - https://www.Instagram.com/9941thepodcast Facebook - https://www.Facebook.com/9941thepodcast YouTube - https://www.YouTube.com/@9941ThePodcast Online - https://www.9941ThePodcast.com Shop - https://yeeyee.com/collections/faithSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
