What does it mean to be American? Most Americans can no longer answer that question. In this episode, Professor Nick Giordano examines the growing civic knowledge crisis and why the inability to define American identity is the greatest internal threat to the Republic. Across the country, civic understanding is collapsing. Students are graduating without understanding the structure of government, the principles of the Constitution, or the philosophy of the American founding. But it's not just students. This is a problem that plagues all generations and represents the greatest threat to the Republic. When citizens cannot explain the system they live under, they cannot defend it, preserve it, or hold it accountable. This episode explores how civic ignorance fuels political division, government expansion, and a dangerous loss of national identity. What You'll Learn: The Identity Vacuum: Why the silence in classrooms exposes a deeper civilizational crisis. The Data of Decline: A look at the alarming national statistics showing the collapse of civic knowledge. The Dependency Trap: How civic ignorance fuels ideological extremism and a growing reliance on the state. The Normalcy Myth: Why political apathy in a self-governing republic is a recipe for disaster. The Roadmap to Renewal: Practical solutions to rebuild civic literacy and restore American civic culture.

Estimated wait times at some of the country's major airports are up to two hours as more TSA officers call out sick during the partial government shutdown. Acting deputy TSA administrator Adam Stahl says the agency is concerned about the growing number of call-outs, saying "there could be scenarios where we may have to shut down airports. This is a serious situation." Airport closures, however, did not seem imminent as of early Wednesday – a scenario that is more plausible at small airports. Body death causes a lot of fear for most people. It's a subject that's been speculated about since we first sat around campfires together millenia ago. In this episode, Thom gives a comforting explanation of the Vedic worldview on death, including the possibility that heaven is not something postponed until after death, but something that can be lived now, through Cosmic Consciousness.Rather than framing life as a test for some future reward, Thom lays out the Vedic perspective that the real purpose of life is integration, bringing Unbounded awareness into embodied daily living. This is a profound reframing of death, meditation, sleep, and enlightenment itself.Episode Highlights[00:45] - I Guess It's Going to Happen to Me Too[04:25] - Watch Out What You Think About[06:45] - A Much Simpler View[10:21] - Experiences of Unboundedness[14:24] - An Irishman Goes to Heaven[17:52] - On Death and Dying[21:45] - In and Out of Unboundedness[26:52] - Cosmic Consciousness: The New Normal[31:45] - Heaven on Earth[36:15] - Would Cosmos Like Some Toast?[41:01] - Heaven is Body Dependent[43:28] - Q - What is the Sanskrit work for conqueror of sleep?[43:32] - A - Gudakesh[45:08] - Q - Does the night shift ever normalize?[45:12] - A - The Beginning of Abstraction[49:56] - The Dangers of Blackout Sleep[54:23] - Let's Sleep On ItUseful Linksinfo@thomknoles.com https://thomknoles.com/https://www.instagram.com/thethomknoleshttps://www.facebook.com/thethomknoleshttps://www.youtube.com/c/thomknoleshttps://thomknoles.com/ask-thom-anything/

In this episode of Overcoming Distractions, Dave talks with Scott Proposki, a high-level photographer who has shot for the White House and National Geographic. Scott shares his journey of scaling a seven-figure studio, losing it during the 2020 pandemic, and the psychological toll of that transition. The conversation focuses on how entrepreneurs with ADHD can pivot from seeing their condition as a liability to leveraging it as a professional asset. Even when it seems impossible. Key Discussion Topics The Power of Hyper-Focus: Scott discusses how his camera acted as a "superpower," allowing him to achieve elite professional success through intense focus. The Dangers of "The Stop": Why high-energy entrepreneurs with ADHD often thrive in chaos but can struggle with depression when professional momentum suddenly halts. The Myth of Academic Success: Both David and Scott reflect on their poor academic histories (the "C- student" experience) and how it didn't prevent them from both becoming best-selling authors. The Importance of Body Doubling: Scott identifies how his previous success relied on having assistants or office managers to act as "accountability partners" and why isolation during the pandemic was so damaging. Building Repeatable Systems: A look at the Mark Cuban philosophy: why entrepreneurs must create repeatable systems to turn a "chaotic job" into a real business. Recovering from Zero: Insights into the mindset shifts required to rebuild a business and professional identity after a total loss. Send a textIn this episode Mike and Iggy dive into one of the biggest cultural questions Christians are facing today: what is biblical Christianity, and what is simply politics using Christian language? They react to statements from Texas politician James Talarico, break down the growing conversation around Christian nationalism, and discuss why so many believers today struggle to distinguish between faith and political ideology. The conversation explores topics like the role of the Church in shaping culture, how politicians use religious language to gain influence, and why Christians must be careful not to let politics redefine their theology. They also discuss debates around marriage, morality, culture, and the growing confusion surrounding truth in modern society.More importantly, Mike and Iggy challenge believers to return to Scripture as the foundation for truth, reminding us that our loyalty must ultimately be rooted in Christ—not political movements, parties, or personalities. In a time when faith is constantly being pulled into cultural battles, the real question isn't what side looks more Christian…It's what the Bible actually says.We release new conversations every Thursday
The Dangers of Being a Firefighter and the Rewards. Few professions demand the level of courage, sacrifice, and resilience required of firefighters. Every call could mean walking into danger while others are running out. The risks are real, the stress is constant, and the long-term health consequences can be severe. Yet despite those dangers, many firefighters say the rewards of helping others make the job one of the most meaningful careers imaginable. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast social media like their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium and other social media platforms. David Dachinger, a retired Fire Lieutenant/EMT from Connecticut, understands both the dangers and the rewards of the job. With more than 21 years in emergency services, Dachinger has seen firsthand how the profession can shape a person's life and sometimes threaten it. The Podcast is available for free on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast website, also on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube and most major podcast platforms. Today, Dachinger shares his story as a guest on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast also as an author, podcast host, cancer survivor, and advocate for first responder wellness. Supporting articles about this and much more from Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast in platforms like Medium , Blogspot and Linkedin . Responding to the Unthinkable Firefighters train for disasters, but some events leave an impact that lasts forever. Dachinger recalls responding to the World Trade Center following the September 11 attacks, working at Ground Zero for a day during the massive recovery and response effort. The Dangers of Being a Firefighter and the Rewards. Available for free on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast website, also on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Youtube and most major Podcast networks. Experiences like that, he says, stay with firefighters long after the call is over. “Those moments remind you how fragile life can be,” Dachinger explains. “But they also remind you why firefighters do what they do, to help people during the worst moments of their lives.” Another call nearly turned deadly when Dachinger responded to a residential fire that suddenly flashed over, a dangerous phenomenon where intense heat causes everything in a room to ignite at once. “Flashover can be fatal if you're not careful,” he recalls. “It happens fast. One moment you're fighting the fire, and the next moment the entire room ignites.” Situations like that are a constant reminder of the physical dangers firefighters face every day. The Dangers of Being a Firefighter and the Rewards. Look for The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast on social media like their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium and other social media platforms. The Hidden Risk: Cancer in Firefighters While the flames and smoke are obvious dangers, one of the most serious threats to firefighters often appears years later. Firefighters are increasingly being diagnosed with cancer, believed to be linked to exposure to toxic chemicals, smoke, and carcinogens during fires. For Dachinger, that danger became very personal. In 2014, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 head and neck cancer, something many in the firefighting community believe may be related to occupational exposure. Available for free on their website and streaming on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Youtube and other podcast platforms. “Cancer is extremely common among firefighters,” Dachinger says. “We're exposed to toxins on a regular basis. It's something many firefighters eventually face.” The diagnosis was life-changing, forcing him to confront both his health and his future. But instead of allowing the disease to define him, Dachinger used the experience to transform his mission in life. The Dangers of Being a Firefighter and the Rewards. From Firefighter to Author and Advocate After battling cancer and surviving, Dachinger became a powerful advocate for firefighter health, resilience, and mental wellness. You can follow him on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast Facebook, Instagram, watch the episode of the podcast interview and case breakdowns on YouTube, or listen to in-depth discussions on their website, on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and most major podcast platforms. He went on to become a two-time international bestselling author, appearing in the book “Cancer: From Tears to Triumph” and co-authoring the bestselling book “Live Calm With Cancer (...and Beyond).” He also co-authored another important book titled “Helping the Helpers.” The book serves as a guide for professionals who work with first responders, helping them understand the trauma, stress, and unique culture experienced by firefighters, police officers, EMTs, and dispatchers. “Helping the Helpers bridges the gap between clinical training and the real-life experiences of first responders,” Dachinger explains. “It helps therapists, leaders, and families understand what these men and women face every day.” The Dangers of Being a Firefighter and the Rewards. It is discussed across News platforms and shared on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Apple, and Spotify, where audiences continue to get their content. A Voice for First Responders Dachinger now uses multiple platforms to continue supporting the first responder community. He hosts the podcast “Responder Resilience,” which explores the challenges and triumphs faced by firefighters, EMTs, dispatchers, and law enforcement professionals. The Podcast features conversations with experts and firsthand accounts from those working on the front lines. Listeners can find the show on the major platforms such as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and YouTube, where discussions focus on mental health, leadership, wellness, and recovery from trauma. His work has also been featured across News outlets, television interviews, social media platforms like the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, helping bring attention to the health challenges faced by first responders. A Career Beyond the Firehouse Interestingly, Dachinger has also had success outside the emergency services world. The Dangers of Being a Firefighter and the Rewards. You can find the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, X (formerly Twitter), and LinkedIn, as well as read companion articles and updates on Medium, Blogspot, YouTube, and even IMDB. Before and during parts of his firefighting career, he worked in the music industry, earning two Grammy Award nominations as a mixing engineer and producer. During that time, he collaborated with major artists including Roberta Flack, Usher, Celine Dion, and The Isley Brothers. Today, he combines his diverse experiences to help others build resilience and overcome adversity. He also works as a peer coach with the nonprofit organization 22Zero, which helps first responders dealing with trauma and mental health challenges. More information about his work and interviews can be found on his website ResponderTV.com. The Rewards of the Fire Service Despite the dangers, from flashovers and collapsing buildings to toxic exposures and cancer, Dachinger says the fire service remains one of the most rewarding professions in the world. “Being a firefighter means serving your community at the highest level,” he says. “You're there when people need help the most.” For Dachinger, the job brought challenges he never expected, including a life-threatening illness. But it also gave him a powerful purpose, helping others long after his days inside the firehouse ended. The Dangers of Being a Firefighter and the Rewards. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast social media like their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium and other social media platforms. Why do smart marketing teams keep optimizing for the wrong things? In Part 1 of this Sharp Cut series, we explored Goodhart's Law — when a measure becomes a target, it stops being a good measure. But the real problem doesn't start on the marketing dashboard. It starts two floors above it.In this episode of The Sharp Cut, Marc Binkley and Vassilis Douros trace the incentive problem all the way from the boardroom to the media buy, showing how the pressure to maximize shareholder value, hit revenue targets, and prove short-term ROI cascades through the organization — eventually shaping how marketing is measured.Drawing on insights from seven past Sleeping Barber guests, including Roger Martin, Peter Field, Avinash Kaushik, Dale Harrison, Herman Simon, Augustine Fou, and Koen Pauwels, this episode breaks down why marketing metrics often drift away from real business outcomes. We explore:Why shareholder value maximization may distort strategic decision-makingThe difference between revenue growth and real competitive growthHow efficiency metrics like ROI and ROAS can mislead organizationsWhy marketing dashboards are often 90% activity and only 10% outcomesWhy CPM may be one of the most dangerous metrics in media planningHow platform data quietly shapes the decisions marketers makeWhen incentives reward the wrong signals, even brilliant organizations can optimize themselves into decline.TakeawaysGoodheart's Law illustrates how metrics can become targets, leading to poor decision-making.Shareholder value maximization is a flawed approach that can harm long-term business health.Revenue growth does not equate to market growth; understanding this distinction is crucial.Short-term metrics can mislead organizations into making detrimental decisions.Effective marketing requires a balance between efficiency and effectiveness.Dashboards often reflect activity rather than meaningful outcomes, leading to misinterpretation of success.CPM is a dangerous metric that can create a false sense of accountability.Data reporting without context can lead to 'data puking' and poor decision-making.Organizations must evaluate whether their primary metrics truly reflect business health.Good measurement practices should focus on long-term outcomes rather than short-term gains.Chapters00:00 - Introduction to the Incentive Series01:00 - Understanding Goodheart's Law and Its Implications03:02 - The Shareholder Value Maximization Trap04:56 - Revenue vs. Growth: A Misunderstanding09:04 - The Dangers of Short-Term Metrics12:08 - The Role of Dashboards in Marketing Decisions14:59 - The Need for Better Measurement Practices

Most believers think idolatry only means bowing to a false god. But idolatry is often far more subtle. It can be compromise. It can be misplaced priorities. It can even be a distorted perception of who God truly is. You become like what you worship. And if your perception of God is distorted, it will affect everything about your life. Becca Chilczenkowski is a Board-Certified Practitioner, female hormone and metabolic specialist, and the Founder and Co-Owner of FitMom, a leading virtual functional health practice helping women resolve complex chronic health issues and optimize their performance, energy, and longevity. Becca's path into functional medicine didn't begin in a classroom; began when her own health stopped making sense. Despite being a competitive CrossFit athlete ranked in the Top 100 in the world, her body suddenly felt like it was working against her. She was gaining weight despite strict nutrition and training, battling fatigue, mood swings, digestive issues, and constipation yet traditional medical answers fell short. That experience led her to functional medicine, where she discovered the powerful connections between the immune system, metabolism, hormones, gut health, and detoxification pathways. What began as a personal healing journey quickly evolved into a career devoted to helping other women uncover the true root causes of their symptoms. Over the past several years, Becca has helped oversee thousands of complex client cases through FitMom. Outside of her clinical work, Becca is a wife, mother of two, former competitive athlete, coffee enthusiast, and passionate advocate for helping women become informed, empowered stewards of their health. 00:00 Introduction to Hormonal Health and Nutrition 01:11 Becca's Journey: From Athlete to Hormone Specialist 06:20 Understanding Body Fat and Hormonal Impact 11:40 The Dangers of Comparison in Fitness 14:17 The Stress of Overtraining and Its Effects 18:59 Identifying Hormonal Imbalances 23:57 Gut Health and Its Connection to Hormones 27:07 Night Sweats and Detoxification Issues 29:23 Understanding Body Changes and Proactive Health 30:02 The Role of Peptides in Health 31:29 GLP-1: Benefits and Risks 38:07 Social Media's Impact on Body Image 42:23 The Importance of Rest and Recovery 46:58 Evaluating Health and Weight Loss Strategies 48:50 Working with Health Professionals for Optimal Care LINKS: www.fitmom.co https://www.instagram.com/thehormonequeen/ Keto Mojo - https://keto-mojo.com/affiliate-link/?rfsn=7323937.137af4&utm_source=refersion&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_campaign=7323937.137af4
Send a textThe word deserve sounds positive. Encouraging, even. But when it comes to weight loss and your relationship with food, it can quietly become one of the most dangerous words you use with yourself. In this episode, I'm talking about the language of deserving and how it can work both for you and against you.Feeling like you deserve better health, more mobility, and a body that supports the life you want can be incredibly powerful. But the same word can also become a justification for the very behaviours that undermine the progress you're trying to make.“I had a rough day. I deserve this.” “I've been good all week. I deserve a break.” “I'll skip tracking today. I deserve it.”The problem isn't the food. The problem is what this kind of thinking does to the trust you're building with yourself.Weight loss isn't just about changing your body. It's about building a new relationship with food and learning to trust your own decisions again. When you use “deserving” as a reason to undo the commitments you've made to yourself, you're quietly pulling apart the progress you've been working so hard to build. In this episode, Charlotte talks about how the language we use with ourselves can either support the work we're doing or slowly undermine it.You deserve to reach your goal. You deserve to build trust with yourself. And you deserve a relationship with food that actually brings you peace. But sometimes the most important question is this:What do you really deserve right now and in the long run?In This EpisodeWhy the word “deserve” can be both motivating and dangerousHow “I deserve this” often becomes a justification for self-sabotageThe connection between deserving language and self-trustWhy short-term rewards can undermine long-term goalsThe mental side of building a new relationship with foodHow to pause and question the stories you tell yourself about foodSupport the showLooking for help on your weight loss journey? Investing for Americans Abroad & U.S. Expats | Gimme Some Truth for Expats
Most American investors don't realize that their brokerage relationship often "breaks" the moment they move overseas. In this episode of Gimme Some Truth, we discuss why U.S. retail brokerages are closing expat accounts and how to choose the right custodian before you relocate. From FATCA compliance to the "liquidation-only" trap, we break down the complexities of being a U.S. person living abroad. We also expose the dangers of using a "fake" U.S. address (like a relative's house) and why that strategy can lead to massive tax and legal headaches. What You'll Learn:- The FATCA Factor: Why foreign banks don't want U.S. clients and why U.S. banks don't want foreign addresses.- Account Freezes: Why your brokerage might give you a 30-day notice to move your assets.- The "Address Trap": The risks of using PO Boxes or family addresses to keep your account open.- Retail vs. Institutional: Why advisor-sponsored platforms often have broader international capabilities than standard retail accounts.- Country-Specific Rules: Why the "best" brokerage for an expat in Germany might be different than one in Japan.https://usexpatinvesting.com/blog/what-is-the-best-brokerage-for-expats/Timestamps:0:00 Welcome: The Expat Investing Crisis0:45 Why your current brokerage might not work abroad2:09 FATCA Explained: The pressure on expat banking3:40 Why there is no "one-size-fits-all" solution4:39 The Dangers of "Fake" U.S. Addresses6:31 Essential planning steps BEFORE you move8:47 Retail vs. Advisor-Led Institutional Accounts11:21 Why brokerages "kick out" international clients13:22 How to be proactive with your expat wealth14:24 Disclosures & Wrap UpRead the corresponding blog for more details: Are you planning a move or already living abroad? In this message, Pastor Rusty identifies and breaks down the three greatest dangers facing the church in the coming year and to follow. Jude 3 tells us that one of our responsibilities as Christians is to "contend for the faith" yet so many in the church think that must be someone else's job and as we have grown comfortable, the world continues to press in and divide, discredit and diminish our message. This is a call for the church to wake up and become aware of the dangers both without and within and to rise up, speak up and contend. Dangers to the Church1. A Culture that Hates Us2. Biblically Empty Pulpits3. Complacent PewsFrom 1st Timothy 4:1-2; 2nd Timothy 4:1-3, 12-17; 1st John 4:1-3; Jude 3; Galatians 1:6-9. Sunday Morning Message - "The Dangers of Division"In this message from March 8, we continue our series through 1 Corinthians with a timely and challenging message out of 1 Corinthians 1:10–17 and 3:1–4. In a culture—and even a church world—where division comes easily, we'll be reminded that allowing anyone or anything to divide our loyalty simply doesn't make sense in Christ. The enemy loves to use division to create distraction, but God calls His people to unity rooted in Jesus alone.
When public policy is deliberately created with the expressed intention of impoverishing citizens, God has to step in to protect the people.

Your “perfect man” checklist might be the very thing keeping you single. You made the list because you were told that's how smart women date. Know what you want. Don't settle. Have standards. And yet you keep ending up with men who look great on paper and feel wrong in real life. Or you eliminate every man before he ever has a real chance. At some point you have to ask yourself if the list is actually serving you. In this episode, Hilary breaks down three reasons the checklist backfires. She explains the difference between surface-level criteria and real character, why most women struggle to recognize emotional health when they see it, and how “high standards” can quietly function as protection from vulnerability. Shared religion, impressive credentials, and lifestyle alignment may check boxes, but they do not guarantee integrity, kindness, or emotional maturity. This conversation is not about lowering your standards. It is about refining them. It is about learning to assess consistent behavior over optics, trusting what you feel in your body, and choosing from discernment instead of fear. When you stop dating from a spreadsheet and start dating from self-trust, everything changes. Episode Highlights: Why your checklist might be screening for credentials instead of character The difference between logistics that matter and boxes that mean nothing How men can “perform” emotional availability and how to tell when it's real The subtle way high-achieving women turn dates into auditions When “high standards” are actually fear of vulnerability in disguise Episode Breakdown: 00:00 The Problem with the Partner List 03:12 Surface-Level Traits vs. Real Character in Dating 05:53 How to Spot Real Emotional Availability 08:45 The Dangers of Assumptions in Relationships 12:01 Are Your High Standards Blocking Love? 14:45 How to Use a Dating Checklist the Right Way ✨ I'm Hilary Silver, LCSW, former psychotherapist turned master coach and founder of Ready for Love. For decades, Americans viewed the Supreme Court as an impartial referee standing above the political fray. However, public trust in this vital institution has recently plummeted to historic lows. Many observers blame a surge in ideological rulings that align with the party of the President who appointed each justice. If the referee is suddenly wearing a team jersey, the fundamental systems of democracy and capitalism begin to break down. Georgetown University Law Professor Steve Vladeck joins Luigi and Bethany to argue that the real culprit isn't just partisan justices, but a complete abdication of responsibility by Congress. Rather than viewing judicial reform as a zero-sum game of packing the court, he proposes that lawmakers must reclaim their constitutional authority to check judicial overreach. He explains how special interest groups have successfully manipulated this power vacuum to reshape American regulations. This perspective completely reframes the crisis from a partisan dispute into a structural collapse of institutional power. This episode explores the hidden mechanisms that allow unaccountable judges to unilaterally rewrite the rules of our economic system, why decades of political complacency allowed this shift and what actionable steps can actually fix it. Vladeck answers whether the business community will ultimately regret enabling a system that erodes the reliable rule of law and why saving our markets may require Congress to finally stand up and do its job. Is the Holocaust fading from living memory—and if so, what are the consequences? In this sobering and historically grounded conversation, Dru Johnson speaks with longtime Jerusalem resident and Anglican rector David Pileggi about why the Holocaust must be understood not merely as Jewish history, but as a defining event in modern human history. Pileggi argues that the Holocaust was not simply a tragic episode within World War II—it was central to the war's origins and its catastrophic consequences. Drawing on Christopher Browning's Ordinary Men, the discussion explores how middle-aged, non-ideological German reservists became mass shooters—not primarily because of fanaticism, but because of conformity, fear, propaganda, and social pressure. The conversation moves beyond gas chambers to the psychology of genocide, asking how “normal” people participate in extraordinary evil. The episode also examines the roots of antisemitism, conspiracy thinking, and scapegoating—patterns that continue to resurface in modern political discourse. Pileggi offers a nuanced perspective on Jewish-Christian relations, contemporary Israel, and the responsibility Christians bear in resisting dehumanization and ideological hatred. This episode challenges listeners not merely to remember history—but to act wisely in the present so that its darkest chapters are not repeated. We've spent a lot of time talking about what biblical accountability looks like at the national level - Bethel, Shawn Bolz, Mike Bickle, Chris Reed, or Michael Brown to name a few - examining cover-up culture that protects powerful leaders while silencing victims. But here's the question we keep getting in the comments and in our inboxes: What do I do when it's happening in my own church? That's a harder question — and honestly, a more important one.In this episode, Joshua Lewis, Michael Miller, and Michael Rowntree come back to ground level: your actual local church, where you know these people, where your kids go to Sunday school, where you serve. What does Matthew 18 actually look like when you're sitting across the table from an elder who won't listen? When do you escalate? When do you leave? When do you go public following 1 Timothy 5 — and is that ever right for a layperson to do?We're walking through the biblical process step by step, giving you real categories for navigating one of the hardest situations a believer can face. This isn't about gossip, mob justice, or protecting institutions. It's about protecting people — and honoring the Word of God in the process.0:00 – Introduction3:10 – Local Church Exposure Questions4:28 – Sins Requiring Public Exposure15:37 – Handling Private Repentant Sin 26:00 – Matthew 18 Church Discipline36:38 – Church Whistleblower Accountability45:26 – 1 Timothy 5 Elders Discipline52:38 – When to Go Public 54:45 – Leaving Abusive Church Leadership1:00:23 – Dangers of Toxic Church Culture1:01:35 – Healthy Repentance and Discipline Subscribe to The Remnant Radio newsletter and receive our FREE introduction to spiritual gifts eBook. Over half a billion people live by lakes that freeze over in the winter. But as the climate warms, those lakes are losing whole days of ice cover. Winters are also getting weirder, with more intense temperature swings that lead to multiple freezes and thaws. Those fluctuations make the ice less safe, and more likely for people to fall through as they walk. So, today, producer Berly McCoy gets into how these changes are altering culture, community and safety on the ice – plus, how firefighters train for rescues. This is the first in a two-part series on how lake ice is changing. Check out Monday's episode for part two!Check out photos from Berly's reporting trip to Madison, Wisconsin.Interested in more winter science?
