(8:00) This relates to GLP-1 in the fact that there is nothing you can do that doesn't cause a consequence somewhere else. (11:30) Vinnie discusses dealing with his second bout of cancer a couple of years ago. He is determined to be as active and healthy as possible. Eating strict NSNG seems to have helped him fight cancer more than if he had not been eating clean. (12:00) If you lose weight the old-fashioned way through proper eating, about 20-25% of your weight loss will be muscle. (16:00) However, that can be offset with exercise, particularly strength training. With GLP-1, a person will lose at least 40% of their muscle mass. (17:00) This matters because a lack of muscle contributes to all-cause mortality, and you can die sooner. Sarcopenia (natural muscle loss) occurs with age, typically starting around age 35, but it can be significantly slowed with strength training. (18:00) The number one drug Vinnie used to get asked about was statins, but now it's about GLP-1s. (21:00) If a person is losing a lot of muscle on GLP-1s, you can bet it's affecting their heart, because the heart is muscle. (25:00) Anna shares some info she's heard recently regarding Dr. Ben Bikman. (27:30) Some Thoughts About Fiber There is also debate about fiber. (36:00) They discuss myths about fiber and whether it is as necessary as others have claimed. Anna shares a story that makes her super happy about her cookbooks. (46:00) Vinnie is trying a week off from eating cheese, but he's wrapping up the week with Anna's Cheese Bites for the Super Bowl. (48:30) They conclude the episode with a discussion of discontinuing GLP-1s. Talk to your doctor for the proper protocol. As AI systems grow more autonomous, the question is no longer just what they can do, but whether we can trust the data and models behind their decisions. In this episode of Alexa's Input (AI), Alexa Griffith talks with Wendy Chin, CEO of PureCipher, about building what she calls an artificial immune system for AI, a framework designed to make data, models, and inference tamper-evident across the AI lifecycle. They unpack what data poisoning really means (training data, weights and biases, inference inputs), why small amounts of targeted poison can create outsized model misbehavior, and how generative AI lowers the barrier to sophisticated malware. The conversation expands into the security implications of agent-to-agent communication via MCP, digital twins, and why we don't have the luxury of “shipping now and securing later.” It's a wide-ranging discussion that moves from practical threat models to the philosophical frontier of what happens as AI becomes more human-like, and more autonomous.Podcast LinksWatch: https://www.youtube.com/@alexa_griffithRead: https://alexasinput.substack.com/Listen: https://creators.spotify.com/pod/profile/alexagriffith/More: https://linktr.ee/alexagriffithWebsite: https://alexagriffith.com/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/alexa-griffith/Find out more about the guest at:LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/wendy-chin-ctg/Website: https://www.purecipher.com/Chapters00:00 Introduction to AI Security01:16 Understanding Data Poisoning04:38 The Dangers of Malware in AI07:46 AI's Moral Dilemmas and Decision Making08:45 Building Empathy in AI13:07 The Role of Good Data in AI Training17:02 PureCypher's Artificial Immune System22:34 Digital Twins and Their Implications25:22 Nurturing AI Like a Child30:53 Data Therapy for AI36:13 The Future of AI and Human Interaction38:45 The Dark Side of AI: Hacking and Security45:03 Global Perspectives on AI Security48:11 MCP Agents and Security Concerns51:41 Philosophical Implications of AI and Human Connection01:00:04 The Sci-Fi Future of AI and Humanity

In this message, we follow Gideon's story to see how starting well and finishing well aren't the same—especially after success. Gideon trusted God in weakness, but after victory he began relying on himself, chasing recognition, and building a “replacement” for dependence on the Lord. This is a warning about the spiritual danger of success and an invitation to return to prayer, accountability, and humble faith. Ultimately, we're pointed to Jesus—the true Savior who succeeds where we fail and calls us back to grace-filled dependence on God.
Damir and Sam are joined by Cambridge philosopher Henry Shevlin of the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence for a raucous and rambling conversation about the state of artificial intelligence. Is it about to get conscious, take all of our jobs, and destroy the world? Or is all this industry hype?Henry starts off the conversation asserting that AI already has a kind of “agency,” even if it's not yet the full kind that some skeptics are looking for. Damir and Sam push back on AI's reliability and proclivity to hallucinations, and wonder whether AI can create anything genuinely novel or creative. The conversation turns to autonomy and risk. Can “artificial superintelligence” ever be reached, asks Sam? Henry points to AI coding agents already improving themselves. Damir objects to anthropomorphizing AI and prefers treating these systems as powerful tools capable runaway failures — but nothing more. Henry disagrees, ending the conversation with a plea for AIs getting consideration as moral entities at some point.Required Reading:* “Superintelligence: Paths, Dangers, Strategies,” by Nick Bostrom (Amazon).* The Creative Mind: Myths and Mechanisms, by Margaret Boden (Amazon).* “Disambiguating Anthropomorphism and Anthropomimesis in Human-Robot Interaction,” by Minja Axelsson and Henry Shevlin (arxiv.org).* “Real Patterns,” by Daniel C. On today's podcast I chat once again with Paul Kearns, urban planner, author and journalist who has been living in Tel Aviv with his young family for the last 8 years. Paul has been bringing us the truth from within Israel throughout the Gaza war, including the story of censorship by the media there and the presentation of the genocide in a very sanitised way to the people of Israel. In bravely doing so, Paul has in many cases alienated himself from friends and family but his honesty has been much appreciated and his writing has been very welcome by Irish media. He is now increasingly concerned by some political rhetoric and what he is hearing from the Jewish community in Ireland. He believes that the horrors we have witnessed in Gaza has resulted in visceral antisemitism, which could be a real threat to this community and his own family should he ever decide to visit or even return to Ireland to live. When he wrote about this topic, the media outlets who were happy to take his earlier articles did not want to know. We spoke about this version of censorship, antisemitism, holocaust deniers, conspiracy theories and how a country can start to rebuild its reputation, which is in tatters. How did Lucky Charms end up scoring "healthier" than eggs on the Tufts Food Compass, and what does that say about modern nutrition advice? If you've ever found yourself confused by food nutrient rankings like this, this episode is for you. In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Ty Beal, a global nutrition researcher known for bringing real nuance to the most polarizing food debates (animal foods, ultra-processed foods, vegetable oils, saturated fat… yes, all of it!). Ty breaks down what nutrient density actually means, why micronutrient deficiencies are far more common than most people realize (even in high-income countries), and why we can't "fortify our way" out of poor diet quality. He also explains the thinking behind his global nutrient-density rating system, built around the nutrients people are most likely to be missing, and adjusted for bioavailability. You'll learn: Why "quick energy" foods can look healthy on paper… while leaving your body undernourished The surprising prevalence of micronutrient deficiencies—and why they matter for energy, cognition, and long-term health What most nutrient-rating systems miss (and why ultra-processed foods can score absurdly high) The top nutrient-dense foods to keep stocked in your kitchen Why the food matrix matters, and why fortified nutrients aren't equivalent to nutrients in whole foods Ty's balanced take on saturated fat, red meat, and the often-unspoken truth about nutrition science A practical look at what Ty actually eats to optimize nutrient density (without being dogmatic) If you're tired of black-and-white nutrition advice and want a smarter, more grounded way to think about food quality, this episode will help you cut through the noise and focus on what actually supports long-term health. Could your profitability improve simply by replacing instinct-driven decisions with clearer financial and operational data?In this episode of The Agency Blueprint podcast, I break down one of the most overlooked reasons agencies struggle to grow: scaling too fast, too blindly, and with too much gut instinct. I explain why many agency owners fall into the trap of hiring quickly, offering too many services, and over-delivering in an attempt to drive results, when in reality, these habits often erode profit, damage systems, and create long-term instability. Don't miss this episode to learn more about how to ground your decisions in financial benchmarks, operational clarity, and incremental improvements. Key Questions: [00:32] Are you scaling too quickly out of instinct rather than insight? [02:27] Are you overwhelming clients with solutions when all they need is one clear, stabilizing action? [05:03] Are you unknowingly scaling chaos by growing a broken delivery system? [09:14] Is over-delivery destroying your margins and setting unrealistic long-term client expectations? [11:56] Are you trying to grow a model that isn't structurally sound yet? What You'll Discover: [01:16] How instinct-driven decision-making leads agencies into chaos, especially as financial stakes grow. In this conversation, Vassilis Douros and Marc Binkley delve into the complexities of measuring ROI in marketing. They discuss common misconceptions about ROI, ROAS, and MER, emphasizing that these metrics often lead marketers to focus on short-term efficiency rather than long-term effectiveness. The duo highlights the importance of collaboration across teams to ensure that marketing promises align with operational capabilities, ultimately driving sustainable growth. They advocate for a shift in focus from mere ratios to understanding the broader implications of marketing investments on future cash flow and customer relationships. If you're being measured purely on short-term efficiency metrics, this conversation will change how you think about growth.ROI isn't a marketing number.
