POPULARITY
Greg, Joe and guest host Matt Rath join the big political/sports debate of the past week by discussing MLB catcher Bruce Maxwell joining the NFL’s kneeling protests, as well as the NBA’s response to the back-and-forth between Donald Trump and the Golden State Warriors. Then Megan Brown (@thatgirlondeck) calls in to talk about her beloved Brewers’ wild card hopes. Finally, actor and former college baseball player Koz McRae (V/H/S) talks about what makes a good or bad coach. Plus, thoughts on Travis Shaw, Matt Garza, Josh Hader, Craig Counsell, Eric Thames, Ryan Braun, Keon Broxton, and more! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
This week we have indie darlings Boss Jr. on the show! Jake Dunnington tells the the origin story of the name Boss Jr. involving a kid named "Randy" he knew in high school. Matt Rath and Naomi Villa talk about how they met and eventually got together in the midst of Matt's whirlwind relationship with a lawyer coincidentally named "Randy." These true stories inspire improvised scenes about churchgoers fighting in the pews, a braggadocious boy with some stupid tattoos, dads doing improv and more! Our guest this week is comedian, podcaster and American hero Matt Rath, and he has a theory that could blow the lid off the whole damn country. Matt knows that the government is deliberately undermining so-called ‘conspiracy theorists’ in order to make them look ridiculous, so they can carry on with their shady business undisturbed. Think that all UFOlogists are fools? Think again, chump. Also as a bonus, we forced Matt to record this episode in 100-degree heat. See if you can hear the sweat hit the mic
Josh and Jake present the first of two very special episodes featuring some of the funniest scenes and stories from 2016. Featuring Mary Holland, Nicole Byer, Allan McLeod, Beth Appel, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Mary Sasson, Dan Lippert, Joel Jensen, Matt Rath, Naomi Villa, Kale Hills, Marcy Jarreau, Jace Armstrong, Ally Beardsley & Paul Welsh! This episode is dedicated to Gian Molina, a fantastic improviser and an even better friend who passed away on December 20th, 2016. Rest in Peace, Gian. Hollywood power couple Matt Rath (Boss Jr., Krazy Cangaroos) & Naomi Villa (Boss Jr., DIRT) join Josh and Jake to tell stories about being the boss, experiencing loss at a young age, and going to a very confusing and disappointing Chance the Rapper concert. This leads to improvised scenes about valet thieves, the worst Taco Tuesday of all time, a new "shitty" drug and more! We sit down with Boss Junior (Naomi Villa, Matt Rath, and Jake Dunnington) to discuss how Matt is an emotional rock, how Naomi texts only important stuff or sometimes a funny-ass pic and Jake runs us through his Star Wars muppets collection.
Matt Rath and Naomi Villa are improvisers who have been together for over three years. They watch every Golden State Warriors game together. Matt has no personal scheduling system except for a train calendar that he won at an improv show that he does not use. Naomi once locked Matt out of their bedroom and turned off the WiFi. LA locals can see their excellent show Boss Jr. first and third Wednesdays of the month at The Clubhouse.Produced by: Ryan MiddledorfArtwork: Aly MonroeTheme Song: Erin & MeLissa
