Kiki is recording on fumes in the middle of moving week, surrounded by boxes, broken nails, damaged furniture, and enough bickering to make her wonder whether the stress is coming from the move or Mercury being in Gatorade again. She shares the chaotic reality of combining households with her man that's not her man, why his approach to the homebuying process has left her feeling out of the loop, and how to support a partner who is stressed without sounding controlling or turning into their unpaid project manager.Kiki also breaks down how Mercury retrograde may be affecting communication, relationships, collaborations, and major life transitions, plus what everyone should watch for during the post-retrograde shadow period. Then, she opens up a conversation about breakups, closure, ghosting, and whether every relationship deserves an exit interview.Production, tap in with your advice, and get ready for Sip & Spill, the new segment where listeners can call the Nightcap Number with anonymous confessions, questions, and stories before drunk-texting their ex.Go to brooklynbedding.com and use my promo code COCKTALESPOD at checkout to get 30% offsitewide during the {{2026 PROMOTION BELOW}}.VB Health- Try SOAKING WETGet 10% off SOAKING WET from VB Health with code COCKTALES visit SOAKINGWET.COM todayContact us!Advice: advice@cocktalespod.comCockTales: cocktales@cocktalespod.comNEW SEGMENTSIP & SPILL- Before you drunk-text your ex, call your best friend for the fourth time, or send a voice note you'll regret by sunrise… call the Nightcap Number and leave us a message.Confessions, questions, dilemmas, and stories—we want to hear it all.Sip responsibly. Send us Fan MailIn The City-The Friendsgiving Finale: Apologies, Breakups & Baby NewsIn The City – Season 1, Episode 9: "Cider and Squabbles" SummaryThe Connecticut getaway wraps up with one final Friendsgiving filled with heartfelt conversations, emotional confrontations, and a look at where everyone stands months after filming. The group spends the morning preparing for Friendsgiving. While Kyle jokes that he's only grocery shopping because he doesn't intend to cook, Kenny explains how meaningful the annual tradition is to him. Meanwhile, Danielle informs Whitney that Lindsay was hurt by comments suggesting she uses the "single mom card." Whitney insists her point was that both women have nannies, but the tension remains.Everyone heads to an apple orchard for cider tasting and apple picking. Kyle turns it into a competition by declaring that whoever picks the biggest apple won't have to help clean up after dinner. As the group gathers around the fire, Georgina confronts Whitney and Kenny, saying it seems like they simply don't like women as a couple. The conversation escalates, Whitney becomes emotional, and she leaves in tears.Back at the house, Friendsgiving preparations are overshadowed by another heated argument. Lindsay confronts Whitney, Kenny, Georgina and Lexi over the "single mom" comments and questions about bringing a nanny. Whitney apologizes, explaining that her words were misunderstood, but the damage has already been done.Elsewhere, Gavin and Kenny finally address their growing friendship issues. Kenny tells Gavin he's repeatedly felt publicly undermined over the past several weeks. Gavin apologizes through tears, admitting he never intended to make Kenny feel unsupported. The emotional conversation allows the longtime friends to move forward. The evening takes a more positive turn. Kyle DJs the Friendsgiving celebration while Danielle and Lindsay finally discuss their lingering issues. Danielle admits she was hurt when Lindsay researched Eoin's relationship instead of coming directly to her. Lindsay apologizes sincerely, and the two agree they've made real progress. Gavin reminds everyone that Friendsgiving is about gratitude, and the night ends with dancing, laughter and puzzle-building before everyone returns to New York. The finale jumps ahead several months to reveal major life updates: Kyle and Amanda announce their split. Amanda is later confirmed to be dating West. Kenny reveals he and Whitney accidentally participated in a wedding ceremony in Peru and are happily planning to marry. Georgina is officially moving on from her ex and is ready to date again. Lindsay jokes that next year several women in the group will understand motherhood firsthand. Yvonne & Nick announce they're expecting a baby boy. Andrea & Lexi reveal they're having a baby girl. Danielle announces she's expecting a baby with Nick. The episode closes with a preview of next week's reunion and a Watch What Happens Live appearance, where Whitney acknowledges that she regrets how her "single mom" comments came across, saying her intention was to address friendship priorities—not motherhood.✳️Follow us on Social Media✳️ ============================================

That friendship breakup with your best girlfriend? The one that blindsided you? Girl, there's a reason it wrecked you more than any ex ever did.Y'all, this conversation is one I didn't know I needed. I sat down with friendship expert and educator Danielle Bayard Jackson to talk about the relationships we don't give nearly enough airtime: our female friendships. We get into why friend breakups cut so deep, how codependency sneaks into our friendships the exact same way it does our romantic ones, and what happens when you start healing and suddenly realize you might be outgrowing your circle. Danielle brings the research and the tough-love truth, and I even unpacked a couple of my own friendship stories right here on the mic.Inside the Episode:Why friendship breakups can hurt more than romantic ones and why nobody teaches us how to grieve themHow to build values-aligned friendships with a slow, gradual pace (yes, the same "earn your vulnerability" energy I teach in dating)Why conflict is the doorway to closeness and how to have the hard conversation instead of quietly canceling someoneIf you've ever felt lonely in a season of growth, questioned your circle, or avoided a hard talk because confrontation feels terrifying this episode is your permission slip to do it differently.Ready to bring secure, healthy connection into every relationship in your life — romantic and platonic? Have you ever wondered, “Why is this so hard to let go of when I know it is not right for me?”. In part 8 of our relationship series, we explore one of the most disorienting emotional experiences in relationships: The moment you realize you are not just losing a person, but a future you built in your mind.In this episode, we talk about what happens when clarity finally cuts through hope, and why that moment often feels worse before it feels better. We explore the quiet grief of realizing someone is exactly who they've been showing you, and the exhaustion of holding on to the version of the relationship you wanted it to become. We also go deeper into something many people don't have language for: ambiguous loss. That confusing space where nothing fully ended, but something still feels gone. Situationships, emotionally unavailable partners, and relationships without clear closure can leave us grieving something that never fully materialized, which is often the hardest kind of grief to name. From there, we unpack the difference between acceptance and settling, and what it actually means to see reality clearly without abandoning yourself in the process. And finally, we look at what becomes possible when you stop spending all your energy hoping, fixing, and waiting, and start redirecting that energy back into your own life.Get 20% off today at https://aquatru.com with promo code SHTCEDownload HILY Dating App from the App Store or Google Play, or visit https://hily.go.link/d31uDDISCLAIMER: This podcast offers information for educational and entertainment purposes only and is not a substitute for professional advice. Why do breakups hurt so much? Because neurologically, heartbreak looks almost identical to drug withdrawal. In a landmark 2010 fMRI study, Helen Fisher and her colleagues showed that the brains of the recently rejected lit up in the same reward and craving circuits — the VTA and nucleus accumbens — that drive cocaine addiction. In this episode of The Dr. Leaf Show, Dr. Caroline Leaf unpacks the neuroscience of heartbreak and why it can take at least 63 days to rewire, plus two more segments: why horror movies might actually be good for your brain (and when they're not), and a Pick My Brain Q&A tackling self-love, the attachment styles myth, unconditional love, and how to reignite the spark in a long marriage.

Why does a breakup feel like more than heartbreak? In this episode, John Kim explores why breakups can feel like a death, and why that experience is rooted in more than emotion alone. Drawing from neuroscience, attachment theory, and years of therapeutic experience, he explains what happens in the brain after a relationship ends and why healing takes time. John unpacks the hidden losses that often come with heartbreak, from the future we imagined to the identity we built inside a relationship. He also shares why recovery isn't about forgetting someone, but learning to create a new reality without them. In this episode: • Why breakups feel physically painful • The role dopamine and attachment play in heartbreak • How relationships become part of our emotional regulation system • The grief of losing a future that never actually happened • Identity loss after a breakup • Why healing is really about rewiring If someone in your life is going through a breakup, share this episode with them. Ever swing between anxious and avoidant with the same person, reaching for them one minute and running the next? That's not you being broken or "too much." In week three of the Breakups by Attachment Style series, Sabrina breaks down disorganized attachment (also called fearful avoidant attachment): the push-pull, hot-and-cold, on-again-off-again pattern that makes you feel like you're losing your mind. Learn what's actually happening in your nervous system, why your relationships keep taking this shape, and why no attachment style ever excuses how someone treats you. Inside: the research on fearful avoidant attachment in adulthood, a real story of dating someone disorganized, and what the path to earned security actually looks like (slower than 90 days, and worth every bit of it). Plus the Tool of the Week, a simple somatic state check-in to start tracking your nervous system today. If you've never fit neatly into anxious or avoidant, this one on attachment theory, nervous system regulation, and breaking the cycle is for you, baby. Violet is back with another Series of Unfortunate Events, and this time she's unpacking her “Coming to America” origin story. From her first deeply questionable attempt at fitting in, to the accessory that made her feel like the coolest Russian alive, to one night where being included maybe should've come with a warning label, this episode is peak Violet: embarrassing, unfiltered, and one bad decision away from a Dateline reenactment. Don't trust everything you're handed, don't trust gas station sushi, and for the love of God, Google first. Thanks to our sponsors:Nutrafol: Receive $10 off your first month's subscription and free shipping when you visit Nutrafol.com and enter promo code DADDYISSUES.Shopify: Sign up for your one-dollar-per-month trial today at SHOPIFY.COM/daddyissuesSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
