“He has made glorious…Galilee”. As the new day of hope dawned, the first rays of light shone in Galilee. Isaiah foretells that the victory of this Child [v.4-5] will be as unusual and unlikely as the victory over Midian. Unlikely, yes - but it will come, and with it the end of all conflict. The reason this Child is born is so that He might become Immanuel, God with us. His name is Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Jesus took our place to give us His peace. Peace floods the soul when Christ rules the heart.

We live in a day that might rightly be described as dark. Culturally, morally and politically we see an ever-encroaching darkness. The prophet Isaiah lived in a similar day. Not only was it a time of economic, moral, and political darkness, but the people themselves had become darkened by sin and idolatry. In the midst of this darkness, Isaiah writes to offer hope: not the hope of the world, but a biblical hope and a confident expectation that God would fulfill all His promises. It’s not an immediate and earthly hope, but an ultimate and eternal hope in God’s salvation, that amid their darkness, LIGHT was coming. Hope was on the horizon. This hope would not come in the form of a revived economy, a strengthened military, or a new political system, but in the form of a Jewish Son who would be born to them. This is the hope of the world. This is the reason we celebrate Christmas. I pray you will join us this weekend as we continue our Prophecy Fulfilled series and look to the hope of the world and what many have described as the Hallelujah Chorus of God’s Word. — Pastor Chad

Israel and Judah's failure to measure up to God's mark brought them suffering at the hand of other nations. God gives a child and a son going first to the rebellious despised people that they may see the merciful and righteous reign of His everlasting King.

“For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will accomplish this.” (Isaiah 9:6–7 NAS95)

In this sermon our guest speaker Pastor Adam Wood shares about how it's a dark world in which we live, but God's light is shining. So we must open up an stay near it.

This week, in our Silent Night series, we take a look at the hope that we have in Jesus and the peace that only He can bring.
The Old and New Testament words for Peace mean complete or whole. So when Jesus said he was giving us peace, it meant that he was making us complete. How do we embrace this gift and allow him to come and move in our lives?
This week, in our Silent Night series, we take a look at the hope that we have in Jesus and the peace that only He can bring.
The last name that Isaiah says Jesus will be called is the “Prince of Peace.” And this didn’t just mean to the government, it is a peace that rules over our entire lives. But how do we reconcile with that peace amongst the turbulent world…one that is constantly changing with mandates, government, politics, and just plain and simple life? Jesus brings peace in a number of ways, and the Gospels give us great examples of how His peace can be brought into our everyday lives.
This message will look at fathers in the Bible and what that means for the child to be called the Everlasting Father.

The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light
The book of Isaiah gives many names to Jesus, one of those being “Wonderful Counselor.” In biblical times however, a counselor was extremely different than what we refer to as a counselor today. Jesus broke the mold of what a counselor is by consistently going above and beyond what any counselor would say or do in those times, and this reigns true for us today as He is STILL our “Wonderful Counselor.”
