Satan and bad angels are not all-powerful, but they can influence a person's thinking and emotions until we learn the enemy's schemes and the authority God has given us. Since his fall, Satan now peddles his merchandise of sin and rebellion to the unsuspecting and ignorant. He works through fear and self-will, pushing us to our "own" devices instead of the power and authority that comes from submitting to God and His Word.

By the world's wisdom, Christ's voluntary death upon the Cross was both shameful and foolish. And yet know that through the Cross, Christ attained victory over this world and the devil. When we fall short in this life through sinning and opt to quit, that is, flee the Cross of Christ, we embrace the foolishness of this world.

On the feast of the Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we have the opportunity to reflect on the importance of this feast for the Society of Saint Pius X. In union with Our Lord Jesus Christ, Who Our Lady brought into the world and stood with painfully at the Cross, Mary dedicated the whole of her life for the redemption of mankind. Her designated role in our salvation as Co-Redemptrix is particularly material when we consider the Society's mission of forming holy priests who stand in persona Christi to provide sacramental grace to the faithful.
Jesus’s people will be rejected by the world but never abandoned by our King. Rejected? Yes. Abandoned? Never. And so, we can sound the triumph in the middle of rejection. We can tell our souls to rise up and continue proclaiming the glories of our King. And the treasure we’ve found.

Does God really hear the cries of those who are cheated, wronged, or overlooked? In his message centered on James 5:1–6, Pastor Josiah shares a powerful warning from James: selfish hoarding and dishonest gain may look like success in the world's eyes, but before God they will testify against us. Earthly riches corrode, unjust dealings oppress the vulnerable, and self-indulgence leads to judgment. Yet in Christ, there is an eternal treasure that moth and rust cannot destroy. For the oppressor, God's word declares judgment. For the oppressed, we can be comforted – God hears your cries and will bring the unrighteous to justice. And for all who believe, the gospel gives hope: true riches are found in Christ alone.

Steadfastness—endurance and patience under pressure—is an active, Spirit-powered response to trials that God uses to shape us into Christlikeness, proving His presence and refining our faith rather than signaling His absence.

It's easy to notice what's wrong in other people, but much harder to recognize what needs to change in ourselves. This week at Sandals Church, Pastor Matthew Stephen Brown challenges us to shift from criticism to self-reflection and to pay attention to the quiet ways the Holy Spirit works in our lives. If you've ever struggled with being judgmental—or felt judged yourself—this talk will give you a fresh way to think about growth and connection.--Support content like this and the vision of Sandals Church at http://sandalschurch.com/support/Join our email list for content updates: http://sandalschurch.com/subscribeDownload the Sandals Church App: http://sandalschurch.com/app/If you have questions, need prayer or want to get connected, please email us anytime at online@sandalschurch.com!
In week two of our series on community, we look at why life with Jesus was never meant to be lived alone. In a world marked by division, heartbreak, and loneliness, the table of Jesus becomes a place where both joy and sorrow are shared, where strangers become family, and where His presence binds us together. Through Mark 14 and Romans 12, we see how the table doesn't just remind us of the gospel—it forms us into a people of grace, hope, and defiant joy.Check out the sermon on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or bridge.tv/sermons. Acts 16:16-40 16 As we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who had a spirit of divination and brought her owners much gain by fortune-telling. 17 She followed Paul and us, crying out, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to you the way of salvation.” 18 And this she kept doing for many days. Paul, having become greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And it came out that very hour. 19 But when her owners saw that their hope of gain was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace before the rulers. 20 And when they had brought them to the magistrates, they said, “These men are Jews, and they are disturbing our city.21 They advocate customs that are not lawful for us as Romans to accept or practice.”22 The crowd joined in attacking them, and the magistrates tore the garments off them and gave orders to beat them with rods. 23 And when they had inflicted many blows upon them, they threw them into prison, ordering the jailer to keep them safely. 24 Having received this order, he put them into the inner prison and fastened their feet in the stocks. 25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them, 26 and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone's bonds were unfastened. 27 When the jailer woke and saw that the prison doors were open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped. 28 But Paul cried with a loud voice, “Do not harm yourself, for we are all here.” 29 And the jailer called for lights and rushed in, and trembling with fear he fell down before Paul and Silas. 30 Then he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 31 And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” 32 And they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. 33 And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their wounds; and he was baptized at once, he and all his family. 34 Then he brought them up into his house and set food before them. And he rejoiced along with his entire household that he had believed in God. 35 But when it was day, the magistrates sent the police, saying, “Let those men go.” 36 And the jailer reported these words to Paul, saying, “The magistrates have sent to let you go. Therefore come out now and go in peace.” 37 But Paul said to them, “They have beaten us publicly, uncondemned, men who are Roman citizens, and have thrown us into prison; and do they now throw us out secretly? No! Let them come themselves and take us out.”38 The police reported these words to the magistrates, and they were afraid when they heard that they were Roman citizens. 39 So they came and apologized to them. And they took them out and asked them to leave the city. 40 So they went out of the prison and visited Lydia. And when they had seen the brothers, they encouraged them and departed. “An Encore Performance by Ignorant Disciples”Mark 8:11-21Having recently completed our series “None Like Jesus” let's continue to “Behold Him” by embarking on a new study through the Gospel of Mark. Mark's Gospel is the shortest of the four Gospels and it is action-packed from start to finish – as evidenced by the word “immediately” used over 40 times. Mark wrote to believers, probably Roman believers, who were no strangers to persecution. And he wanted to disciple his readers to be strong in their faith by encouraging them to look to their Mighty Messiah, the Son of God, who remained steadfastly faithful even while becoming their Suffering Servant who died for them. Mark's Gospel is a call to all believers to fearlessly “Follow Jesus” because they can trust Him completely.
The early church is often painted as an ideal of perfect community. The reality, however, was far from picturesque. The church in Corinth was, to put it lightly, a mess. In one of his letters to the Corinthian church, the Apostle Paul tried to paint a clear picture for the people and untangle the many theological and moral knots the church had created for itself. His letter to them still rings true to the church today. How can we be unified in a world of chaos? How can we be wise in a world of foolishness?
