Pastor Ray Bentley points out the real dynamic of the judgment to come during the last days. The presence of God is restraining, holding evil back from its full, disgusting intent. So when we come down and it says, oh, God's going to, you know, here's this judgment. You know what the judgment is. All he does is he lets loose, he lets go and says, okay, who starts the wars?

How are you holding up? With only a few days to go until the Big One, are you exhausted yet? Stressed out? Depressed? Anxious? Frustrated? Or peaceful? If we could see things from Heaven's perspective - and that's what we're instructed to do in Colossians 3 - we would find pretty much the opposite of what the world's offering. The name Immanuel—"God is with us"—isn't just a nice theological concept. It's the reality that Jesus refused to be God without us. Our sin separated us from God, but His love refused to leave us isolated. Jesus's arrival means you never have to face a single day, moment, or situation alone.

In 735 BC Isaiah gave a prophecy to king Ahaz about a young woman giving birth to a boy called Immanuel—a prophecy that seemed to be fulfilled with the birth of Hezekiah and the destruction of Aram and Samaria. But there was to be a much deeper fulfillment of this prophecy—as deep as Sheol, as high as heaven—because the testimony of JESUS is the spirit of prophecy.
