How many people in your life think of you as a blessing? In the Bible, God blessed Abraham so that Abraham would be a blessing to others. It's the same with us. God doesn't bless us just to make us happy. He blesses us so we can let His goodness flow through us to touch other people. Our actions are an advertisement of God to those around us. Let's not hold God's blessings tightly. Let's bless others and make the idea of God attractive to them.

Jesus outlined his mission statement by reading from Isaiah, declaring he came to bring good news to the poor, freedom to prisoners, sight to the blind, and to proclaim God's favor. This reveals that God with us means we can be with God, but we must first recognize our spiritual poverty and need for him. Jesus offers freedom from whatever controls us - fear, pride, addictions, or other bondage. He opens our spiritual eyes to see that our real battle isn't against people but spiritual forces. The Year of Jubilee is no longer a date but a person - Jesus himself - who cancels our debts and resets our lives.

Salvation is only the beginning of the Christian experience. We are not called to be saved and then do nothing. God has created and designed each of us to accomplish specific roles for the advancement of God's kingdom. Our responsibility as employees of the Kingdom is to continually be formed so that we may live out the purposes for which God created us to execute.

It is so good to be able to meet altogether again! The last few years have been nothing less than unusual. The beauty of it all is that we are still closely knitted in the present, in His presences, and in the process we have left some of the traditions behind and embraced a more perfect worship experience.
