The works take many different approaches to exploring the pandemic: fiction, non-fiction, poetry, personal statements, and ephemeral observations. In collaboration with Story Factory (NSW), The Story Island Project (Tasmania) and StoryBoard (Byron Bay).
Our Early Harvest 2019 book The Sound Of The Dark has been nominated for an Australian Book Designers Award in the prestigious Children's Fiction Book category. We asked the students of Sunshine Primary, Victoria, how participating in Story Hubs affected them. Their feedback floored us: “I got more creative in my own work and my own writing.” “I’m very shy and speechless and can’t contribute like some people. Now I have a big team I can talk to them and get comfortable each day.” “Something we normally don’t do in class is making something that people will use for generations going on and it’s a really big responsibility for us because we helped to create it. So I’m really amazed about how far we’ve come.” “We kind of all got out of our comfort zones and started like contributing and being with other people and trying stuff” Story Hub is a pilot project by 100 Story Building through which we bring creative learning spaces in schools.
Wonderful young writers, Cleo and Tana, go on air to discuss how the Story Hub at their school(Meadows Primary in Broadmeadows)has changed their perspective on creativity. Thank you Triple R for this wonderful opportunity.
