We continue to read through the Old Testament books seeing how the people of Israel react in light of God's directing. This week we finish the book of Jeremiah and move into another book of the prophets called Ezekiel.
The audio Bible in a year week 31 continues through the book of Jeremiah, putting it into chronological order with the other Old Testament books. We continue to see reform and disaster within the Israelite people.
In this recap at the end of week 30, we look back over the last two weeks and look at the background to the book of Jeremiah and the events that have led to this point. We also think about two verses in Jeremiah which might hold the key to everything!

Sorry for the delay in the last few episodes - holidays and computer problems! It's going to be time to upgrade the computer soon!! Hope it hasn't effected the routines you've got into already as you listen. We are now into the second half of the Bible and it begins with a Psalm proclaiming 'Sing for joy to God our strength, shout in triumph'. May that be our thought and joy as we head into week 27 and through the book of Isaiah.
In this recap at the end of week 26 we look back over what is a common occurrence throughout the Bible; the call to repentance. We look specifically at this in the story of Jonah and how we can learn from that.
At the end of this week you'll have covered HALF THE BIBLE! Congratulations on making it this far and I hope you've found it an enjoyable and educational experience, hearing stories you may have never heard before, and getting to hear a different sequence of books. In this recap at the end of week 24 we look at the divided Kingdoms of Israel and Judah. The historians of this time classify whether the Kings were good and bad depending on whether they let the pagan practises continue or not. The famous prophet Elijah speaks into the Kingdoms at this time.

Continuing through the audio Bible in a year into week 23. Good work on getting this far, you have followed the story of the Israelites a long way. Now we see the Kingdom divide and a difference in the Kings in both Kingdoms.
In this recap we look back at the life of Solomon and think about all he did and stood for. We ultimately think about his legacy, what caused his downfall and what we can learn from this
We continue into week 22 of the audio Bible in a year. In this week we finish the book of Solomon's Proverbs and sayings, and read through Ecclesiastes before an exciting two days of genealogies.
We continue through the audio Bible in a year week 21 in Solomon's reign, as he shows his wisdom and the fulfilment of God's promise as people come from far and wide to hear his wisdom. We get an insight as the week continues as we begin the book of Proverbs
In this recap over the past two weeks we see the reign of the Kingdom of Israel be handed from King David to his son Solomon. Solomon's first task is to build a temple for God, something that his father David wished to do but was not chosen to do by God. We also see the new King Solomon show the gift of wisdom in a dispute between two prostitutes and a dead child.
We continue into the story of King Solomon as he builds the temple. We see an insight into all that went into it's construction as well as Solomon's response, and the Israelites' response to it. We also read part of Solomon's wisdom as we read through Song of Songs, or Song of Solomon as it's sometimes called.
We continue through the audio Bible in a year as we come to the end of the reign of King David and the beginning of the reign of his son, Solomon. We also see how David prepares for Solomon to take over and especially for the work he will undertake in building the Temple.
In this recap over the last two weeks we see the reality of the world around us present in the Bible, we also see the best of Game of Thrones and any other TV drama! It's all right there to read, with no story covered up. This is what we need to recapture in the Christian Faith; the reality of what it says, the reality of what it speaks of and in to.
