Listen through the Bible in a year, uploaded week by week. It only takes 10-12 minutes a day.
Jonathan Frazer Bible in a year

We continue through the audio Bible in a year week 21 in Solomon's reign, as he shows his wisdom and the fulfilment of God's promise as people come from far and wide to hear his wisdom. We get an insight as the week continues as we begin the book of Proverbs

In this recap over the past two weeks we see the reign of the Kingdom of Israel be handed from King David to his son Solomon. Solomon's first task is to build a temple for God, something that his father David wished to do but was not chosen to do by God. We also see the new King Solomon show the gift of wisdom in a dispute between two prostitutes and a dead child.

We continue into the story of King Solomon as he builds the temple. We see an insight into all that went into it's construction as well as Solomon's response, and the Israelites' response to it. We also read part of Solomon's wisdom as we read through Song of Songs, or Song of Solomon as it's sometimes called.

We continue through the audio Bible in a year as we come to the end of the reign of King David and the beginning of the reign of his son, Solomon. We also see how David prepares for Solomon to take over and especially for the work he will undertake in building the Temple.

In this recap over the last two weeks we see the reality of the world around us present in the Bible, we also see the best of Game of Thrones and any other TV drama! It's all right there to read, with no story covered up. This is what we need to recapture in the Christian Faith; the reality of what it says, the reality of what it speaks of and in to.

We continue through the audio Bible in a year into week 18. This week we continue through the life of King David, but we not only observe and hear about it, we also get an insight into his mind through the writing and inclusion of the Psalms throughout each day.

We continue through the audio Bible in a year, continuing the story and 'adventures' of King David.

In this recap we look back over the last two weeks and the change of Kingship within Israel from Saul to David. We also see the benefits of the chronological version of the audio Bible in a year as the Psalms intertwine with the story of David. If you have any questions or queries please get in touch with me via jwfrazer@presbyterianireland.org

We're into week 16 of the audio Bible in a year, reading through the end of 1 Samuel and into 2 Samuel with the corresponding chapters of Chronicles. The story of David, as we go through these next few weeks, is central to the story of the Israelites and the Old Testament.

We continue the audio Bible in a year into week 15 and the book of 1 Samuel during the reign of King Saul. This reign comes to an end in dramatic fashion and there arises a new King in Israel. It is during this week that we see more use of the chronological version as the Psalms are intertwined with this book.

In this recap at the end of week 14 we look back over the time when 'everyone did as they wanted' (Judges 17:6). This seems to be the theme of these past two weeks but in the midst of it God continues to work. We look at this specifically through the bizarre and horrific story of the Levite and the Concubine. If you have any questions or queries please get in touch

'In Israel everyone did as they saw fit' is a reoccurring theme and in Judges we look at this continuing story as the Kings of Israel appear

Week 14 of the Audio Bible in a year as we move into 1 Samuel. This is where the chronological version proves so helpful as the Psalms are interwoven through the reading of 1 Samuel

This week we finish the book of Joshua which charts the movement of Israel into the Pormised Land, and we move into the books of Judges and Ruth.

In this recap at the end of week 12 we look back over the last two weeks and see how the leadership of the Israelites has changed as they embark upon their long awaited journey into the actual Promised Land. The 40 years of the Israelites, and the last number of weeks for us have anticipated this time, so we celebrate it with great enthusiasm.

As the people of Israel begin their journey into the Promised Land after the 40 years of wandering through the wilderness, we look at what the book of Joshua has in store for us

We continue the audio series into week 12, as we read through the book of Joshua as the Israelites finally enter into the Promised Land after all these years of wandering in the Wilderness. Those who disobeyed have died and the new generation are already to enter into the land their ancestors were promised.

We continue into week 11 of the Audio Bible in a year, continuing through Deuteronomy and into Joshua. It's been a long time coming, basically 10 weeks, but now the Israelites are ready to enter the Promised Land! Let's see how it turns out this week!!

The recap at the end of week 10 looks back over the last two weeks and approximately 40 years of wandering in the wilderness. We see them stepping into the biggest event in Israel's history as they step into the Promised Land. This marks a major part of their identity as they walk towards who God wants them to be.

In this introduction we look at the sermon Moses gives the people of Israel as they stand on the edge of the Promised Land

We're into double figures now as we move into week 10 of the Audio Bible in a year. In week 10 of the audio Bible in a year we join the Israelites at the edge of the Promised Land as they wait to enter into it. We begin into the book of Deuteronomy this week which is the speech Moses gives to the people before they cross the Jordan to enter the Promised Land. If you have any questions, queries, or if you feel sorry for Moses like I do, get in touch through the facebook page or by emailing me at jwfrazer@presbyterianireland.org

Congratulations on getting through nearly two months of the audio Bible in a year. This week we continue through Numbers as the Israelites continue wandering through the Wilderness! If you have any questions and queries contact me at jwfrazer@presbyterianireland.org

In this outline we look at the next book in the Torah, the book of Numbers, as the people of Israel continue on their journey towards, and around the Promised Land. We think of how this book fits into the whole Bible and what it teaches us

In this recap we look over the last two weeks and one of the most important passages in the Old Testament as God instructs the people of Israel about the Day of Atonement. Once again God liberates His people.

In this episode we look through the very strange (and at times boring) book of Leviticus to see what it might tell us about God

Week 8 of the audio Bible in a year as we continue and finish off Leviticus (you'll be glad to hear) and start into Numbers. I know at times it can be hard work but as we talked in the recap, this is God setting out the way the Israelites were to get to know Him, and for us today, how we know the character of God and what He cares about. So as hard as it can seem, it's an important part of getting to know God.

We continue into week 7 of the audio Bible in a year, finishing off Exodus and reading Numbers and Leviticus. Although these books (especially Leviticus) can seem tedious, they are important in showing us the detail God has for His people, the care He has for them and the way in which He seeks this society to be ordered.

In this episode we look at the outline of the book of Exodus and the story it tells of the people of Israel as they are freed from slavery in Egypt. This is ons of the central books for the Israelite identity and so is important not just now, but throughout the Bible in a year

We continue through week 6 with the audio Bible in a year. If you have any questions that you'd like included in the next recap send them to me at jwfrazer@presbyterianireland.org

In this episode of audio Bible in a year week 5, we read through the book of Exodus and see the greatest event in the history of the Jewish people as God frees His people from slavery. This is reflected in the greatest event in the history of mankind as God frees His people from the slavery of sin. This book is pivotal in our own understanding of our story.

In this recap at the end of week 4 we look back over the book of Genesis, seeing what it tells us today, and then also look forward as we begin the book of Exodus. These books are the foundation of the Hebrew Bible called the Torah, and foundational to our own experience of God in the Christian faith.

Bible in a year week 4 continues as we finish off Genesis and begin into Exodus. That'll be 2 books down, only a few more to go!!

In this episode we look at the whole of the book of Genesis and how it sets out the beginning of God's story.

The third week of our audio Bible in a year. This third week picks up in Genesis where we left off. Either save the episode or 'mark as played' to pick up every day where you left off.

In this, our first recap, we look back over the first two weeks of the audio Bible in a year. We will look at specific parts of that, however if you have any queries or questions that you would like me to look at, please contact me through the facebook page or via jwfrazer@presbyterianireland.org

In this episode we think about the book of Job and the purposes behind it. It can be hard following the dialogue over the course of so many days so hopefully this episode helps

The second week of our audio Bible in a year. You've made it through the hard part, getting into the habit throughout the first week. This picks up where we've left off as we continue through the book of Job to it's end and then go back into Genesis. At the end of this week there will be a recap, so if you have any questions let me know

Welcome to the audio Bible in a year running through 2026 (Now in its tenth year!) which only takes on average 11 minutes per day. You can listen to it at one time, or stop and start after each day. Each episode will be uploaded on a Thursday and will include a whole 7 days of audio. This means you can listen at a time and pace that suits your own schedule. It is a chronological reading of the Bible, we may have to jump around a number of passages, however the audio version should make this easier. In this first week we listen through a number of chapters of Genesis and the corresponding passages before moving into the book of Job.

CONGRATULATIONS on finishing the WHOLE BIBLE IN A YEAR!! This recap is a congratulatory recap to thank you and remind you of the amazing thing you have achieved this year!! So well done! I hope it has been more than a 'tick-box' exercise and you know the joy that comes with having read through the whole of God's Word. Many thanks for taking part with me throughout 2025

In this week, as we approach the end of the audio Bible in a year we finish some of the final letters to the New Testament Church and then begin the final book of the Bible - Revelation. This book will take us to the end of our year long journey, and will be a difficult book, but we will be blessed in it. Keep up the good work, and carry it through to completion, the finish line is in sight.

In this week of the audio Bible in a year we continue through a number of New Testament books. These were written as pastoral letters to Churches, fellow believers and friends and so often they are small and straight to the point. We're fast approaching the end of the Bible in a year and hopefully you are able to enjoy these books even though it's a busy time of year!

We have listened through a number of books in this week and so in this recap at the end of week 50, we will ask why these are covered so quickly.

In this week's episode of the audio Bible in a year, we move into week 50!! Only three more weeks to complete! In this week we continue through the book of Acts which is the overarching book for the chronological Bible in a year. We also read through Philemon, Colossians, Ephesians and Philippians. Enjoy these as we move closer to the end.

In this week's episode of the audio Bible in a year we continue through some of the Pauline Epistles - Galatians and Romans. At times these books, written as letters to churches, can be read or heard in shortened form, picking out verses or Chapters, but this is the best way to read and hear them - in full. As you listen through them we hope you find them useful and helpful and can take the time to reflect on them as you go.

In this recap at the end of week 48 we look at a word that has been used a lot through Corinthians - the word 'wisdom'. It has been used frequently throughout the Bible and we'll look at what it means and how it can apply to us today. If you have any questions or queries please get in touch

We continue through the New Testament in the audio Bible in a year. In this week's episode we read through 1 & 2 Corinthians using the book of Acts as our chronological reference. As we read through Acts we see the Apostles travel through different regions setting up churches and these two books that Paul writes, 1 & 2 Corinthians are letters from him to these churches.

As we move through the New Testament we cover many of the pastoral letters and in this episode we look at the background and outline of the book of James

In this episode of the Bible in a year we move from the book of Acts to look at some of the Epistles that were written during this time. Once again this is where the chronological version takes on a different approach and these epistles are included within the timeline of the overall book of Acts. We read through the book of James, 1 & 2 Thessalonians, and also begin into 1 Corinthians.

In this recap at the end of week 46 we look forward to the book of the 'Acts of the Apostles' and see what this book will teach us, but we also think about the central theme, and climatic point of the whole Bible - the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. So much has happened these last two weeks but this event changes everything for everyone.
