Stock market analysis
In this episode I discuss my trade in Caterpillar and the fact that I missed the opportunity to add to the position at favorable pricing back in July. I also talk about a few options trades that I have been doing for a significant part of the year to keep my wife's portfolio basically flat on the year and a couple of trend following trades in BDX and MSFT. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/chris-mealick/support
A couple of stocks that are fairly valued with some limited upside over the next year, and one that should be primed to go higher. Just because a stock appears undervalued doesn't really mean much, it still takes the market to agree to that sentiment. The good thing is, you can generate a little over 2% yield while you wait on the upside to deliver in the stock price. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/chris-mealick/support
I don't like IBM here, the price is aggressive their dividend is greater than their earnings and their sales growth is basically flat. I think there is a disconnect in the market on the valuation of Disney. The stock price continues to run up while they are facing lower sales and a negative earnings report. It may be a position you are comfortable with, but I will be sitting on the sidelines. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/chris-mealick/support

Cisco stock found it's way down to $35 in October and I failed to capitalize. With not a lot of value to be found out there, you have to look at specific stocks and understand whether they are being driven by the market or if they are driving the market. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Today we focused on the profits we were able to capture in IBM and XOM by having a plan for the Coronavirus sell off. It doesn't matter what causes the sell off, if you have cash on the sideline and have a plan of when you want to enter and exit a stock you can hopefully capture some profits. Not every trade works, but if you put the odds in your favor and capitalize on opportunity, in the long run you should come out ahead. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
