In part two of Red Eye Radio with Gary McNamara and Eric Harley, more than 235 million people across more than 40 states from Arizona to Maine are in the path of a potentially historic winter storm that's expected to extend over 2,000 miles and deliver crippling snow and ice, beginning Friday. A trailing blast of Arctic air associated with the polar vortex is expected to bring a dangerous refreeze that could create long-duration power outages and paralyze travel for days. In anticipation for the intense storm, as of 9 p.m. EST Thursday, nearly 1,300 flights have already been canceled across the U.S. through Saturday, with thousands more expected to be canceled into early next week. Also Texas Governor Greg Abbott says the power grid in Texas will sustain potential loss of power and a subsequent discussion on solar and wind power. Plus seven House Democrats break with Hakeem Jeffries to pass the Department of Homeland Security funding bill, Vice President JD Vance visits Minnesota and a big weekend of football ahead as the NFC/AFC championship will determine who heads to the Superbowl next month where Bad Bunny will wear a dress at the Half Time Show. This Week on In Stride Sinead is joined by Italian event rider Dan Bizzarro to reflect on how he got started in the sport, what led him to create the Dan Bizzarro Method, and the experiences that have shaped his career. Meet the Guest: Dan Bizzarro Dan Bizzarro is an international event rider and coach who has spent more than 20 years riding, training, and coaching across dressage, show jumping, and cross-country. He has represented Italy in Nations Cup competitions, was shortlisted for the 2024 Paris Olympics, and competed at the 2025 European Championships. Based in Oxfordshire, Dan teaches riders of all levels and created the Dan Bizzarro Method to provide a simple, effective structure riders can use at home, in clinics, during competition warm-ups, and out hacking. His method is designed to support real horses and everyday riders, not just elite athletes. In This Episode, Dan and Sinead Discuss: • What sparked the creation of the Dan Bizzarro Method and the purpose behind it • How he got started in riding and the barn culture he grew up in • Why he chose to step back from running a large program, focus on other interests, and how that shift became a game changer in his career • His training and teaching philosophy and how it shapes the way he works with horses and riders Episode Sponsors VetCS VetCS is an equine veterinarian–founded company creating science-backed hemp products for joint support, calming, and overall wellness. - Visit https://vetcs.com/pages/in-stride and use code InStride20 for 20% off.
This week's Q&A was a fun mix of behind the scenes Florida move updates, rider position chat, and a really great discussion on groundwork. We talked about using the inside leg on a circle and why it isn't something you hold on constantly. Instead, the idea is a "breathing leg" so your horse stays responsive and balanced. From there we break down the “point and shoot” idea for turning, pointing the line of travel first, then sending the horse forward from a balanced moment with the legs while the hands allow. We also answer questions about half halts on hot horses, there's a great discussion around fussy contact and we share why groundwork and lunging can be such a helpful support for horses that are still finding their balance. We touch on simple ways to release tension in your lower back, including an easy stretch at the walk and the wood and jelly idea to help you notice when you're locking up. We also reflect on why groundwork matters so much, not just for training, but for real life moments like travel, loading, and busy environments, when you really need your horse to feel confident and connected. Thanks so much for listening and being part of this community. I'm really grateful you're here.Happy Riding,AmeliaPS. Sunday is the last day to join the Groundwork Superpack, check it out here!

When Aaira Khan was in 5th grade in 2021 she and her classmates at their school in Sydney Australia received a letter from a Pediatric Cancer patient which talked about the Great Cycle Challenge. Aaira quickly decided to ride in this event to raise money for this patient and for the cause of Pediatric Cancer. Aaira has now ridden in this event each year since and in the fall of last year, started her own CAN CAMPAIGN fundraiser. This fundraiser focuses on people picking up empty cans, bringing them to get recycled, and taking the proceeds that they receive from each can and donating all of these proceeds for research, to help join in the fight for these kids who need as much help as possible as they fight their own cancer battels. This campaign was just started 3 months ago and has already raised $2600.

Frank Solomon is a world-renowned big wave surfer, ocean adventurer, and the founder of Sentinel Ocean Alliance. Raised on the rugged coastline of South Africa, Frank has ridden some of the most dangerous waves on Earth, from Mavericks in California to the legendary Dungeons in Hout Bay. But beyond pushing the limits of human courage, he has dedicated his life to protecting the ocean and empowering coastal communities through education, safety, and conservation. In this powerful and grounded episode, Frank takes us deep into the world of big wave surfing and ocean stewardship, exploring: What it takes mentally, physically, and emotionally, to ride waves over 50 feet tall The unique danger and beauty of Dungeons, one of the world's most feared big wave surf breaks How fear becomes a tool rather than an obstacle in extreme environments Why the ocean is not just a playground, but a living system under real threat How Sentinel Ocean Alliance is transforming coastal communities through ocean education, safety training, and conservation initiatives What everyday people can do to reconnect with, respect, and protect the sea, even if they never surf This is a raw, reflective, and inspiring conversation about courage, humility, and responsibility, where adventure meets advocacy, and where loving the ocean means standing up for it.

What if you could give yourself an extra week every year? That's exactly what my guest, Sam Richter, did by automating just ONE repetitive task in his business. Sam, a keynote speaker and AI-powered sales intelligence pioneer, discovered that by creating a custom AI assistant for his presentation slides, he reduced his prep time from 25 minutes to 5 minutes per presentation. Across 100 presentations per year, that's 2,000 minutes saved—essentially a free 53rd week in his year. In this Get Yourself Optimized episode, Sam breaks down: ✅ The GUIDE framework for writing prompts that reduce AI hallucinations ✅ Why treating AI like an intern gets better outcomes than treating it like a search engine ✅ How a retail company used AI to optimize staffing in under 5 minutes (a task that would have taken days manually) ✅ The difference between traditional AI and generative AI—and why it matters ✅ Custom GPTs, system prompts, and memory features that personalize your AI experience This isn't about replacing humans—it's about amplifying what makes us human. What repetitive task in your business could you automate this week? The show notes, including the transcript and checklist to this episode, are at getyourselfoptimized.com/548.
#202 - What if one hard rule could change the way you face everything from headwinds to heartbreak? I sat down with author and adventurer Teri Brown to unpack how a 3,102-mile tandem bike ride across America helped her leave an abusive past, reclaim her voice, and build a set of life rules sturdy enough to carry her through grief.Starting in Astoria and crossing Lolo Pass into Big Sky country, Teri and her husband Bruce pedaled through pandemic uncertainty, logistics stress, and days so hot the road rippled. Riding tandem forced a new kind of honesty: shared cadence, three-count stand breaks, and zero room for simmering resentment. A Dollar General parking lot became a place to name a hurt and move on. Montana gifted them wonder—horses racing uphill beside them, the Milky Way hanging close, and Comet NEOWISE blazing a tail across the night sky. Those moments of awe refueled their grit when flats stacked up and the wind turned cruel.Out of the ride came Ten Little Rules for a Double-Butted Adventure. “Never quit on a bad day” stopped a mid-ride collapse after three flats; “Do hard things” later became a mantra as Bruce faced glioblastoma. Terry read from the book at his bedside; he passed as she spoke those words, a final gift that still gets her up when grief says stay down. The finish line in Washington, D.C. unlocked a deeper shift: the question changed from “Can I?” to “What do I want?” She chose authorship, publishing novels that explore identity, war, resilience, and healing. If you're navigating burnout, rebuilding after loss, or wrestling with self-doubt, this conversation offers practical resilience, relationship tools, and a fresh definition of adventure: bigger than your plans, kinder than your fear, and honest about the work. Listen, share it with someone who needs a push, and tell us: which rule will you carry into your next hill?To learn more about Teri and her books visit www.terimbrown.com and check her out on Instagram @terimbrown_author.Subscribe to the Human Adventure for more human stories of grit and growth, leave a review to help others find the show, and connect with us to keep the conversation going. In last night's session, we dove into some topics that can truly unlock your riding success: the importance of soft, effective aids, developing rhythm & suppleness, and building balance in your horse. We explored how to apply your leg aids without creating tension. It's all about practicing and finding the right balance: applying the aid and then softening immediately. Consistency is key—it's about being aware of your body and rhythm while giving your horse the right amount of support. To get your horse to move from their hindquarters in a balanced and supple way, you need to feel the rhythm. When practicing the sitting trot, the trick is to stay relaxed and in rhythm—feel your hips move with the horse's back while your elbows follow their neck. Keep practicing at the trot, maintaining soft contact. The key to success? Stay consistent with your aids and rhythm, and stay mindful of your seat.We also answer some questions from our nwe Strides members: How do I make sure my horse isn't heavy on the forehand in the stretch circle? How do I prepare for a right canter departure? And more!I am so glad to have welcomed so many new Strides members after bootcamp, thank you for being a part of the Strides community. I'm excited for everything that's coming this year. We've got so much in store, including special guest speakers and new exercises for you to dive into.Happy Riding,AmeliaPS. When Kerry received a diabetes diagnosis and was offered a shot, she felt a quiet check in her spirit—convicted there was another way. She chose whole foods, consistent movement, and faith in God's possibility. Result: 31 pounds lost and A1C lowered naturally—no meds needed. But like so many of us, Kerry still struggled with evenings—that tired pull toward a "reward" snack when the day finally winds down. In this episode, Alisa coaches Kerry (and us) on why evening cravings hit hard, what's happening biologically after dinner, and how to meet those moments with kindness, wisdom, and Spirit-led alternatives. Key Insights Cravings are, at their root, a search for relief How hormones can sometimes make the journey feel harder The reliable path forward: whole foods in healthy portions, consistent movement, and giving the body time to heal and settle at its natural set point Why Evenings Feel So Tough Decision fatigue + shifting circadian rhythms reduce impulse control Dopamine is actively seeking reward while rising melatonin naturally lowers restraint Step One Awareness: simply noticing patterns and getting curious in the moment Scripture Anchors Hebrews 8: Set your mind on things above Galatians 5: The flesh opposes the Spirit Philippians 1:6: He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion

Ringmaster James T. Harris didn't want to cover January 6th that much since Americans have moved on, but the liberal and the Dems haven't stopped talking about the "remembrance of that tragic day", so James T. decided to break it down with TRUTHS! All this talk about January 6th is just the beginning of the Dems gearing up for the midterms, so President Trump rallied the Republicans in congress to breakdown his own truths of the importance of winning the midterm elections. In Minnesota, Governor Walz is saying he's not resigning, not over his dead body, in fact he plans to ride you hard, yeah, he said that. Plus, Mark Kelly keeps stepping in it, Lindsey Graham can't hide all his emotions for Trump, homosexuals and diversity, and Mamdani's tenant czar gets exposed.
The base training advice you've been getting from social media and indoor riding platforms is wrong. Riding only Zone 2 all winter doesn't work for cyclists with less than 8 hours a week to train. Riding hard indoors doesn't work either. In this video, Coach Frank Overton (aka BigCat) breaks down how to build a REAL aerobic base on just 4–8 hours per week, using the Sweet Spot training methodology he has pioneered for the past 20 years. You'll learn: 1️⃣ Where base training actually fits in your annual plan 2️⃣ Why Zone 2-only training fails when volume is low 3️⃣ The biggest base-training mistakes cyclists make indoors 4️⃣ Why Sweet Spot delivers more aerobic gains per minute 5️⃣ How to measure base fitness using OTS & Level 6️⃣ What a real month of base training looks like (calendar example) This is the same approach we've used for over 20 years to help time-crunched amateur cyclists get stronger, more durable, and faster without burning out.

Welcome to Day 2763 of Wisdom-Trek. Thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom. Day 2763 – Wisdom Nuggets – Psalm 104:1-9 – Daily Wisdom Wisdom-Trek Podcast Script - Day 2763 Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps! I am Guthrie Chamberlain, and we are on Day two thousand seven hundred sixty-three of our Trek. The Purpose of Wisdom-Trek is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Wisdom-Trek: The Architect of Light – Robed in Splendor, Riding the Wind. Today, we embark on a grand new expedition. We are stepping into the vast, open cathedral of creation as we begin our journey through Psalm One Hundred Four. We will be exploring the opening movement, verses one through nine, in the New Living Translation. In our previous treks through Psalm One Hundred Three, we heard King David command his soul to "Bless the Lord." That psalm was a masterpiece of historical and redemptive praise. It focused on forgiveness, healing, and God's fatherly compassion toward our frailty. It ended in the heavenly throne room, with the angels and the armies of heaven joining the song. Psalm One Hundred Four begins with the exact same phrase: "Let all that I am praise the Lord." But the focus shifts entirely. If Psalm One Hundred Three was about the God of Grace, Psalm One Hundred Four is about the God of Nature. This is a poetic retelling of Genesis Chapter One. It describes Yahweh not just as the Redeemer of Israel, but as the Cosmic Architect who builds the universe like a house, wraps Himself in light like a garment, and rides the wind like a chariot. It challenges the pagan worldviews of the ancient Near East head-on, declaring that the storms, the sea, and the sun are not rival gods—they are merely the tools and servants of the One True King. So, let us open our eyes to the wonders of the world and behold the glory of the Builder. The First Segment is: The Royal Vestments: Light and Space. Psalm One Hundred Four: verses one through two. Let all that I am praise the Lord. O Lord my God, how great you are! You are robed with honor and majesty. You are dressed in a robe of light. You stretch out the starry curtain of the heavens; The psalmist begins with a personal burst of adoration: "Let all that I am praise the Lord. O Lord my God, how great you are!" This isn't just a statement of size; it is a statement of status. "Greatness" (gadol) here implies royal magnificence. The psalmist immediately describes God using the imagery of a King getting dressed for a state occasion. But this King does not put on silk or velvet. "You are robed with honor and majesty. You are dressed in a robe of light." In the Ancient Israelite worldview, light was the very first element of creation ("Let there be light"). Here, the psalmist poetically imagines that before God created the world, He wrapped Himself in that primal light. Light is His uniform. It signifies purity, glory, and visibility. While the pagan gods were often associated with
