When I started my own practice, I thought success would be a straight line up. It wasn't. Running a chiropractic business is a roller coaster. One month you're crushing it, the next you're wondering if you'll make payroll. SEO rankings bounce. Patient numbers dip. Finances fluctuate. The problem isn't the ups and downs themselves — it's how we respond to them. In this episode of the Rocket Chiro Podcast, I talk about why paying attention to patterns matters more than reacting to every blip in your stats. I share real-world examples from my own practice days and from chiropractors I've helped over the years. You'll also hear practical tips on how to stay calm, make better decisions, and build a business that weathers the inevitable swings. Here's What I Cover in This Episode Why success in chiropractic practice isn't linear (and why that's okay) How I track numbers so I can see the real trends instead of guessing The difference between a dip that needs action and a dip that's just noise How plans, habits, and cause-and-effect thinking keep me grounded Why low overhead can help you survive the roller coaster When to stick with a plan and when to pivot How to get advice from the right people — not the peanut gallery Resources Mentioned Free Website/SEO Review: https://rocketchiro.com/chiropractic-practice-assessment Best chiropractic websites: https://rocketchiro.com/best-chiropractic-websites Chiropractic SEO: https://rocketchiro.com/chiropractic-seo

Aero is... not everything? Forget about the wind tunnel, kammtail tube shapes, and 65mm deep rims because Cervelo's just-released R5 proves that light isn't just right, it's also fun. Alvin has been testing the new climbing-focused R5 and tells us what it's like to ride and why it might make more sense than an objectively faster aero bike, especially if you swap the tires. We headed off-road as Specialized debuted the 4th-generation Diverge gravel bike in Slovenia, and tech editor Josh Ross was there to find out how it performs. He explains all the updates, including room for 2.2" wide tires, its evolved geometry, and why it has an even bigger hole. We also dig into Specialized's decision to spec every model with their Future Shock suspension stem, and how it compares to a heavier and more complex suspension fork. We also discuss the latest updates to the Garmin 550 and 850 computers as well as Garmin's Rally power meter pedals, now available with rechargeable batteries. And last but not least: the Lazer VeloVox begs the question of who among us needs walkie talkies built into their helmets. Are you overflowing with Joy? Are you content in all circumstances? Well, then you and I have some more exploration to do. On the flip side, I meet way too many dudes that are down and out. If that is you, you are definitely not alone. You are in the majority. Why? You are leaning too much on your own understanding and the rest of the broken people on this broken planet. BIO: As Co-Founder & CEO of Mode Mobile, Dan Novaes is leading the transformation of how people interact with technology. His “Earn As You Go” software empowers millions of consumers to turn daily habits into passive income.STORY: Dan decided to take the bold move of turning his treasury into a long-term crypto strategy. What started as $2 million in Bitcoin and Ethereum ballooned to $30 million, but the 2022 crash and business pressures forced him to liquidate at low prices—missing out on what could have been a $100 million windfall.LEARNING: Don't chase aggressive expansion without a clear path to profitability. Stick to your core business. Separate your business from speculative bets. “Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face. Take a moment of deep thinking every week when things are going well, think about everything that could go wrong, and then reassess your position.”Dan Novaes Guest profileAs Co-Founder & CEO of Mode Mobile, Dan Novaes is leading the transformation of how people interact with technology. His “Earn As You Go” software empowers millions of consumers to turn daily habits into passive income. Under his leadership, Mode achieved 32,481% revenue growth from 2019 to 2022 and ranked #1 in Software on Deloitte's Technology Fast 500 in North America.Worst investment everIn today's rapidly evolving and highly interconnected business world, companies are increasingly relying on external partnerships to drive growth and innovation.Dan's story begins in the early days of crypto. His company had raised funds through Bitcoin and Ethereum when Bitcoin was valued at just a few thousand dollars and Ethereum at only a few hundred. This early success in the crypto market was a testament to the potential for significant growth that these investments could bring.Once the business had a comfortable runway, Dan made a bold move—he turned their treasury, which is the accumulated profits and cash reserves, into a long-term crypto strategy, much like what companies like MicroStrategy would later become known for.Riding the waveAt first, the decision looked genius. That $1–2 million ballooned into $30 million. Dan was on CNBC, celebrating as Bitcoin crossed $10,000, and his company seemed unstoppable. They never had to fundraise again—until the 2022 crash. The crashIn 2022, Bitcoin's price fell from $63,000 to $18,000, and pressure mounted. Compounding the pain, many of Dan's advertising partners went bankrupt, leaving unpaid bills. This was a significant blow to the company's financial stability. To survive, Dan's company had to liquidate almost the entire treasury at depressed prices.Had Dan managed his growth and financials more cautiously, that crypto position could have grown to $100 million or more. Instead, he walked away with far less—and a bitter lesson.Lessons learnedGrowth at all costs is dangerous. Chasing aggressive expansion without a clear path to profitability can leave your company vulnerable when market conditions shift.Profit-taking matters. Riding the wave without ever securing gains turned paper wealth into a forced liquidation.Stick to your core business.Discipline is everything. Not letting market euphoria dictate strategy is critical to long-term survival.Andrew's takeawaysSeparate your business from speculative bets. Don't gamble with your excess cash on foreign exchange trades. Instead, hedge your risks because...

Road safety takes center stage in this eye-opening episode where we tackle the often misunderstood rules of school bus safety. When those yellow lights start flashing, too many drivers make potentially deadly mistakes. We break down exactly what you need to do when approaching a school bus on various road types and why following these rules is absolutely critical for protecting our children. We uncover a concerning reality about vehicle safety technology that many drivers don't realize—while your car's sensors might detect other vehicles, older models often completely miss pedestrians. This technological blind spot creates serious risks, especially in residential areas where children may dart into the street unexpectedly. Our discussion provides practical advice for staying vigilant behind the wheel, particularly for drivers of larger vehicles with limited visibility. The episode shifts gears to explore dream cars that became nightmares for their owners. From the Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake with its endless repair bills to the eco-friendly Fisker Karma that kept mechanics in business, we reveal six prestigious vehicles that left their owners with serious buyer's remorse. Whether it's the beautiful but problematic Alfa Romeo 4C or the space-age BMW i8 that cost more to maintain than some mortgages, these cautionary tales might make you think twice before pursuing that automotive fantasy. For those seeking unique travel experiences, our "Riding the Rails" segment showcases Texas's diverse heritage railroads. They geek out over the upcoming *James Bond: First Light* video game, blending Hitman vibes with suave Bond moments, and express excitement for *Tron: Ares* and its Nine Inch Nails soundtrack. The hosts also touch on Spielberg's declined *Call of Duty* movie pitch and the greenlit *Life is Strange* TV series at Amazon. **Life and Random Tangents** From Nate's colorful past editing audiobooks to Tim's childhood trauma with *Twister*'s sound system demos, the hosts weave in personal anecdotes, family life, and a humorous nod to their podcast finally turning a two-cent profit. An Irish road cyclist walks into the R&D department of an international bike brand and rides a prototype mountain bike. That's the joke.In this episode, Dave and Ronan discuss 32-inch-wheeled mountain bikes and whether Ronan is now a mountain biker. There's a detailed chat about the torque required when working with UDH hangers or SRAM Full Mount derailleurs, along with some buying advice for an appropriate torque wrench. There are new road bikes from Pinarello and Scott worth talking about, while Shimano's new cleats are equally worthy of discussion. The free-version of the episode wraps with a quick chat about Dave's recent counterfeit chain article, while the Member-only version offers some more detailed answers on this matter. Then it's time for Ask a Wrench, where Dave is joined by mechanic Zach Edwards in answering a handful of member-submitted technical questions.Happy geeking! As requested by a few members, we're now offering episode chapters – hope it works as expected! Lunging is one of the most underestimated training tools riders have at their disposal. Yet so many riders miss the key ingredient that makes lunging truly effective; your position! In this Strides Revisited episode, you'll discover how where you stand in relation to your horse can make the difference between “going nowhere slowly” on the circle and having a clear, forward, focused training session. This conversation ties directly into what we've been talking about this week on the podcast. That, often, one small perspective shift can unlock a massive breakthrough in your riding and training. In this episode, you'll learn: Why your position on the ground has the same impact as your seat in the saddle How to identify neutral, driving, and resisting positions while lunging What happens when you're too far ahead or behind your horse on the circle Why allowing your horse to turn in breaks the connection, and how to fix it How to create small shifts in your position that result in big changes in your horse's way of going Ready to Restart & Reschool? If you're feeling stuck with your horse or frustrated that training isn't moving forward, the Restart & Reschool Coaching Program will help you create real momentum. You'll get the clarity, step-by-step guidance, and personalized support to finally move past those sticky spots in your riding.

Nick is a rider who proves that passion, persistence, and maybe a touch of stubbornness can take you pretty far—whether that's up a Wasatch climb at sunrise or across the finish line at Leadville. He grew up in Salt Lake City as the oldest of three kids. He earned his Eagle Scout, served an LDS mission in Milan, Italy, earned his Economics degree from the U and MBA from Westminster. He even found time to volunteer at the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics, supporting the U.S. Olympic Team with athlete services and translation. He's been with Optum for 23 years, working his way up from sales to Director of Business Operations, and I think he'd tell you the reason he's stayed so long is because of the people and relationships. He's been married to his wife, Jennilynn, for 17 years - and she keeps him fueled with plenty of baked goods. He is a proud dad of two (one through fertility treatments and one through adoption), and shares his home with Bella, a 5-year-old St. Bernard who probably weighs more than all of his bikes combined. He's been passionate about sports since he was young. He ran track and cross country, once ran a marathon, finishing in 4hrs and 4 min, and swore ‘never again,' and eventually found his true love in cycling. Since then, he's tackled countless endurance events—multiple century rides, six LOTOJAs, Steamboat Springs Gravel, and most recently, the Leadville 100 MTB. Nick is so grateful for the Mi Duole team. Riding with them has pushed him to grow as a cyclist while also creating meaningful friendships that extend beyond the bike. Around the house, he's known as the guy who fills the garage with bikes, never stops talking about cycling, and occasionally finishes a project or two in between rides. Passionate, disciplined, and just stubborn enough to keep pushing through the hard stuff is what makes him such a strong rider and a great husband and father.

Freedom takes many forms, but rarely is it as beautifully illustrated as when a beautiful Bald Eagle decides to share your journey. Riding through the expansive high plains of southern Wyoming, where the sky stretches endlessly and human presence fades away, I encountered something truly extraordinary – a curious bald eagle who chose to follow me for miles.Standing on my pegs, cruising at a modest 30 mph along the dirt roads near the Colorado-Wyoming border, I first spotted this magnificent creature perched atop a pine tree. As I passed by, trying not to disturb its solitude, something unexpected happened. The eagle took flight and began following me, soaring about a hundred feet above my right shoulder against the brilliant blue sky. For five remarkable miles, we shared the landscape – a rider on his steel horse and the king of the skies, both experiencing the same freedom in our own ways. This encounter resonated deeply with Steve Miller's iconic "Fly Like an Eagle." The song speaks of personal revolution, of breaking free from constraints – exactly what motorcycling represents for so many of us. When we ride, we shed anxieties and expectations, declaring our independence from the mundane. We experience transformation with every mile. The eagle seemed to understand this, swooping down as if to communicate a profound truth: that out there, away from the noise and busyness of modern life, we can find perfect presence. We can learn to live for today, to simply fly and be free.Next time you're on your bike, whether navigating busy streets or remote trails, remember to slow down occasionally. Stand on your pegs. Take in the world around you. You never know what magic awaits – perhaps your own eagle, ready to teach you something about freedom, connection, and the incredible perspective that belongs uniquely to those of us on two wheels. Share your own magical riding moments and leave a review on Apple Podcasts to help others discover these stories of peace, love, and the special freedom that comes with motorcycling.
Have you ever felt like you're doing all the “right things” in the saddle, and yet your horse still doesn't seem to get the memo? Maybe they won't go forward, maybe they cut in on the circle, or maybe they just find clever ways to avoid what you're asking. In this episode of the Daily Strides Podcast, I'm sharing why the problem often isn't the exercise you're doing… but the perspective you're coming from. Sometimes a small perspective shift can be the key to your next riding breakthrough. I'll walk you through real-life examples from riders I've worked with in virtual live lessons: lunging issues, canter transitions, gripping with the knees, and refusals at fences. In each case, the transformation came from seeing things differently, making one small tweak, and allowing the horse to respond in a new way.

Archie Clement was one of the most notorious guerrilla fighters to emerge from Missouri during the Civil War and Reconstruction era. Barely over five feet tall and weighing around 130 pounds, Clement quickly became feared across the state for his ruthlessness and intensity. Riding with William “Bloody Bill” Anderson, Jesse James, and Frank James, he participated in some of the most infamous raids of the war, including the Centralia Massacre, where unarmed Union soldiers were executed and scalped. After Anderson's death, Clement took command and refused to surrender even after the Confederacy collapsed. Instead, he escalated his attacks, intimidating towns, influencing elections with violence, and masterminding the very first daylight bank robbery in American history. His defiance of Reconstruction authorities eventually brought him into direct conflict with Major Bacon Montgomery's militia, leading to a violent showdown in Lexington. Reportedly carrying up to eleven revolvers, Clement fought ferociously, even after being riddled with more than thirty bullets, attempting to cock a pistol with his teeth before finally succumbing just days shy of his 21st birthday.
