This Psalm has been a consolation and comfort to many in distress and sorrow through the years. However, unless you personally know the Good Shepherd, the Valley of the Shadow of Death will be a one way road to a lost eternity.
1 Down in the valley with my Saviour I would go, Where the flowers are blooming and the sweet waters flow; Everywhere He leads me I will follow, follow on, Walking in His footsteps till the crown be won. 2 Down in the valley with my Saviour I would go, Where the storms are sweeping and the dark waters flow; With His hand to lead me I will never, never fear, Danger cannot fright me if my Lord is near. 3 Down in the valley or upon the mountain steep, Close beside my Saviour would my soul ever keep; He will lead me safely in the path that He has trod, Up to where they gather on the hills of God. Follow! follow! I will follow Jesus! Anywhere, everywhere, I will follow on! Follow! follow! I will follow Jesus! Everywhere He leads me I will follow on!
O Lord, I have heard Thy speech and was afraid! In wrath remember mercy. A message from Habakkuk.
But as for you, beloved, remember the [prophetic] words spoken by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. 18 They used to say to you, “In the last days there will be scoffers, following after their own ungodly passions.” 19 These are the ones who are [agitators] causing divisions—worldly-minded [secular, unspiritual, carnal, merely sensual—unsaved], devoid of the Spirit. Jude 17-19 Scoffers: .......that ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: 3 knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts. 2 Peter 3. 2/3.
