With over 65 million gig workers in the U.S. alone, freelancers have become a force to be reckoned with. Hosted by veteran podcasters Ken and Celia Boone, and published bi-weekly, you will hear their stories of survival and ultimately, thriving in this time of great uncertainty.
In this episode, we revisit the stories told by previous guests of this podcast. A lot has changed for them, mostly for the better. We're honored to have been allowed to share their stories of survival with you! We also are shining a spotlight on the challenges facing the men and women of the clergy, and what we can do to help them in these uncertain times.
In this episode, Celia highlights two initiatives from the National Independent Venue Association ("NIVA"), the Save Our Stages and the Re-Start Acts presented to Congress. In reading the cover letters for the two acts, one statement of support stands out - for every dollar spent at a music venue generates up to a twelve dollar injection in the economy. You will have to opportunity to visit the NIVA website to sign a petition to Congress in support of these two important acts. They are asking for an investment, not a handout!
For this episode, we thought we'd present some of the results of the extensive research we undertook in the making of this podcast. In other words, we wanted to "show you our work". We will also bring you some current statistics, such as COVID-19 and BLS Employment Statistics, that help to explain why we are in our present predicament.
In this episode, musician, podcast host, public speaker and accountant Celia Waller Boone shares her own story of survival through this pandemic. She also brings her positive outlook to the discussion. Please note that her podcast, "ISO Peace & Healing", will now be published on Tuesday. Different day... same insightful talk.
Welcome to another episode of this podcast. Today, Celia Boone will chat with the multi-talented George Don Denis, co-owner of Thredd Media, based out of Charlotte, NC. Don, as we call him, holds a special place in our collective hearts and lives. When we met him ten years ago, he was a gifted musician who generously graced us with numerous guitar, saxophone and vocal tracks on our debut album. That record would not have happened if not for Don!We'd also like to give a shout out to his sister and business partner, the equally talented Nikki, who introduced us to Don while she was producing and directing a film while at UNC Charlotte. Now, they are combining forces to bring high-quality photography and videography to the marketplace. We hope you are inspired by Don's "Survival Story".To contact Don or Nikki, you can find them on Facebook and Instagram. You can also visit their website at: https://www.threddmedia.com/
