Brandon is the Co-Founder and Instructor of GRIT Fire Training LLC, Driver on Truck 17 in the City of Pittsburgh, Assistant Fire Chief for Stowe Township Fire Department, and firefighter with West Lanham Hills Volunteer Fire Company 28 in Prince George's County, Maryland. With 17 years of combined career and volunteer fire service experience, Brandon has earned a reputation as both a passionate student of the fire service and a respected instructor. As a PA State Suppression Instructor, City of Pittsburgh Recruit School Instructor, and Lead Instructor for Butler County Community College, he has dedicated himself to developing firefighters through realistic training and proven systems. This was a killer conversation as we dove into what it really means to train firefighters with purpose. We talk about predetermined assignments, SOPs, SOGs, JOGs, and why having clear systems in place builds confidence, accountability, and consistency on the fireground. One topic I was especially looking forward to discussing was experience. Brandon has strong opinions on the difference between time served and experience earned. As always, the audience was huge for this one with their big beautiful questions and drove the conversation!!!

In this powerful message, Pastor Tim Dunn unpacks how spiritual attacks often show up through distraction, isolation, fear, and discouragement. Through biblical teaching and practical application, this sermon reveals how the enemy works to keep believers disconnected from God's purpose—and how prayer, community, and obedience become the key to spiritual victory. If you've been feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, distant from God, or stuck in cycles you can't break, this message will encourage and challenge you.
We'll be studying Acts 14:1-7 under the theme “Stay Anyway.” We learn that sharing the Gospel about Jesus will bring about hardships and opposition. Division is often part of the impact that proclaiming the Good News has! Effectiveness in ministry doesn't mean absence of conflict. It is often where God deepens faith, strengthens his people, and advances his work.Series Summary: The Book of Acts is a companion volume to The Gospel of Luke. It tells the story of the early Christian Church. For 2000 years, Christian churches have often studied Acts in the weeks following Easter, learning what early Christians did after Jesus' death and resurrection, and contextualizing that lifestyle into modern times. We seek to do the same with our series, “O, Church Arise."Add St. Marcus as your church on the Church Center App!Fill out our online connection cardHow can we pray for you? Perseverance is one of the quiet virtues of the Christian life. It rarely draws attention to itself, yet it sustains faith over the long haul. Perseverance is what carries us when prayers feel unanswered, when progress feels slow, and when the weight of life makes us wonder if continuing is worth the effort. As we continue our series, Shining the Light in a Divided World, Scripture invites us to consider how God's light strengthens us not just for moments of clarity, but for seasons of endurance.

As we experience a surge in antisemitism in the United States and around the world, finding ways to keep their stories of perserverance and survival alive is more important now than ever before. Enter Wendy Tepper, the Outreach Coordinator for 3GNJ, an organization that trains the grandchildren of Holocaust survivors to tell their grandparents stories. Wendy's grandfather Oscar Cukierman, survived five years in concentration camps before making his way to Italy and eventually to the United States.
