Kyle Austin Young was the guest on this episode of Success Profiles Radio. He is an award-winning strategy consultant for high achievers, entrepreneurs, and leader in a wide range of fields. He has refined a powerful system for accomplishing big, meaningful goals that focus on understanding and changing your odds of success. He is the author of the book Success Is A Numbers Game: Achieve Bigger Goals By Changing The Odds. The premise of the book is that you can hack your chances of succeeding at virtually any goal by being someone who SHOULD win instead of someone who CAN win. We talked about how being more prolific dramatically increases your odds of success, why embracing failure should be part of your business model, why the 1980 US Olympic Hockey team's gold medal perhaps wasn't the miracle everyone thought it was, and what to do when we perceive that more talented people stand in the way of us achieving our goals. In addition, we talked about ways we can increase the probability of succeeding at our goals, how to know when quitting is a viable option, and much more. Is Mike McCarthy the new favorite to be the next head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers? That feeling is starting to rise up. Is that the best option for the Steelers? If he can develop a QB, it can be very beneficial, but he doesn't have the long-term game left in him. Poni said he would take McCarthy over Brian Flores at this point. Is anyone starting to come around on this? A caller asked if a McCarthy hire would result in an Aaron Rodgers return.
Did the illicit fentanyl trade experience a supply shock? Science In the United States overdose deaths (ODDs) from synthetic opioids peaked in mid-2023 and then began a sharp decline decreasing by over one third by the end of 2024. One possible explanation is a decrease in fentanyl supply. The purity of fentanyl powder rose in 2022, cresting at 25% in early 2023, but by the end of 2024 purity had fallen to 11%. From 2019 to 2024 the rate of ODDs correlated with the purity of fentanyl in both powder and pills. Drug seizures also peaked in early 2023 and then decreased by 37% in 2024. Analysis of Reddit posts by drug users found increased mentions of “drought” in 2023 that remained high at the end of 2024. All these indicators suggest a reduction in fentanyl supply beginning in 2023. In 2023 China took aggressive action against suppliers of synthetic opioid precursor chemicals, likely a result of meetings between Presidents Biden and Xi. This suggests international cooperation can help reduce ODDs. Read this issue of the ASAM Weekly Subscribe to the ASAM Weekly Visit ASAM

To kick off 2026, Jeff and Michael weigh in on some key higher ed issues making headlines these days, starting with a deep dive into grade inflation at the nation's colleges. A range of sources show that more students are getting A's even as they are spending less time on schoolwork and deep reading. Meanwhile, AI is raising questions about the validity of college assessments when students can offload their work to chatbots. How can colleges respond? Other issues discussed include whether colleges should change what they teach as employers embrace AI, what types of colleges employers recruit from these days, and recent data on where online learning is most prevalent. In a calculated hedge against hell, Dilbert creator Scott Adams announces a death-bed conversion to Christianity, explicitly framing it as Pascal's Wager—a cynical, calculated play for the afterlife. Christians celebrate, atheists groan, and we unpack why this story is catnip for religious propaganda, why the logic collapses instantly, and why deathbed conversions remain one of Christianity's favorite—and flimsiest—victory laps. (Adams passed away at age 68 from prostate cancer after we recorded the show.) Then: the Pope condemns medical aid in dying after Illinois legalizes it, a lawyer is fined $400,000 for warning a school about an accused priest, the U.S. Defense Secretary pushes Christianity deeper into the military, China cracks down on underground Christian churches, Israel prepares to relocate a so-called "lost tribe" from India, and the LDS Church quietly dismantles its all-female Temple Square mission. Hollywood and Alex Donno preview the national championship matchup between the Miami Hurricanes and the Indiana Hoosiers, pushing back on what they see as growing disrespect toward Miami. They react to the Canes being sizable underdogs and having a low projected point total, arguing the numbers ignore Miami's ability to score and its track record of keeping games close. Miami's speed and size advantages are highlighted, along with Indiana's offensive struggles against quality defenses. The discussion wraps with why Miami has repeatedly proven doubters wrong and why this matchup may be far closer than expected.

Jase and Al celebrate Miss Kay's latest unexpected milestone that reflects her strength and progress after a difficult season. The guys emphasize that real faith isn't just something you claim but a relationship that transforms you from the inside out. That leads into a thoughtful discussion about a “reformed” adult film star who publicly professed Christianity before returning to her old life, raising hard questions about belief, trust, and lasting change. Plus, the guys dig into Scripture to explore why people in the Old Testament lived hundreds of years and what that reveals about age, time, and eternity. Two-time Emmy and Three-time NAACP Image Award-winning, television Executive Producer Rushion McDonald interviewed Cathy Yoder. SUMMARY OF THE INTERVIEW (CATHY YODER x RUSHION McDONALD) In this Money Making Conversations Masterclass episode, Rushion McDonald interviews Cathy Yoder, known as the Queen of Air Fryers—a mother of eight whose air‑fryer passion turned into a thriving social‑media‑driven business. Cathy explains how she learned to master air fryers, built a YouTube channel with massive growth, developed ebooks and cookbooks, and built a business through authenticity and service-oriented content. The conversation blends cooking education, digital‑branding lessons, entrepreneurship, and personal purpose. PURPOSE OF THE INTERVIEW 1. Educate Viewers About Air Fryers Cathy breaks down what an air fryer is, how it works, how to choose one, and common mistakes. 2. Highlight How Social Media Can Build a Business Rushion explores how she grew from a blogger to a YouTube creator with hundreds of thousands of followers and multiple revenue streams. 3. Inspire Entrepreneurs to Pursue Authentic Branding Cathy’s journey shows how consistency, authenticity, and audience connection can turn a simple idea into a successful brand. 4. Illustrate the Emotional Impact of Serving an Audience Her stories of widowers, overwhelmed parents, and new cooks show how content can genuinely empower people. KEY TAKEAWAYS 1. Air Fryers Are Mini Convection Ovens They cook faster, often require no preheat, and can grill, bake, roast, and more—but not everything (like wet batters or funnel cakes). 2. All Air Fryers Are Not Equal Cathy stresses choosing 6‑quart, ~1700‑watt models and avoiding units that are too small or underpowered. Size and wattage matter more than brand. 3. Her Content Strategy Was Data‑Driven Initial uploads in various recipe categories revealed that air‑fryer recipes consistently outperformed, so she went all‑in on that niche. 4. YouTube Growth Takes Time Her first monetization check was $1.36, rising to $146, then $300, then to $8,000–$9,000/month by the time she reached 100,000 subscribers. 5. She Generates Multiple Revenue Streams YouTube AdSense Amazon affiliate links E‑books (first launch made $15,000 in a weekend) Physical cookbooks (first batch of 500 sold out immediately) 6. Authenticity Builds Trust She films mistakes, includes her kids’ real reactions (including spitting out bad food), and refuses to promote products she doesn’t believe in. 7. Listen to Your Audience Comments guided her content direction (like dropping background music, creating cookbooks, responding to questions). Audience feedback = brand refinement. 8. It focuses on personal empowerment, mental health, and rediscovering one’s authentic self. Health as a Wake-Up Call Stress is a silent killer; Teresa’s own health issues (high blood pressure) forced her to reevaluate her life.
