The Book of Jonah is so out there. It is unlike all other prophetic books in that it does not contain any apparent prophecies. Why is it in the prophets? How is it relevant to me now?
The key to following Yeshua is discipleship. Without discipleship there can be no progress, no fruitfulness, no impact on the lives of others and no harvest. Discipleship is not a theory. It is not information. It is by necessity an action. So here is some information :) on what that action looks like.

Chanukah: The tribulation is coming, it has been declared by God’s servants, the prophets and we have no choice but to be steadfast and to overcome. Chanukah describes one of the darkest periods of our history, times that are compared to the pains of the woman in labor. But we are not to be dismayed nor are we to lose heart because unto us a child is born, a Son is given...
Purim: Our work in this world is complete, what is left there to do? Die? May it never be. We will live and declare the works of the Lord.
Shmini Atzeret: How well do we know God? I think the only thing we know really well is good and evil, the result of the fall. We have exchanged our knowledge of our Father for the dubious advantage of being like snake, crafty and at home in this world. Thinking to be wise we have become insane. It is time we grow up and once again get to know our Father through Yeshua, deeply and intimately.
Sukkot: The authentic relationships, once established, need to be shared with those around us. Yeshua commanded us to make disciples and the disciples need to be attracted to something in order to be willing to accept the yoke of discipleship. The kingdom of heaven with all its joy is celebrated on the festival of Succot. The gathering of all nations under the benevolent rule of the Kind of the Universe and the joining of many sons and daughters into the family of the saints.
Yom Kippur: There is something that this world lacks and it is not resources. It is authentic relationships. Love is not a luxury but a necessity at a time when we seem to grow colder and colder towards one another.
Counting of The Omer: Spiritual growth is fundamental to the fruitful life. Without growth we can not expect to advance in our quest for more of God's presence. We must be ready for God's revelation, God's presence does not dwell in dirty houses. Do you have what it takes to clean the house and to prepare a place for God to enter?
Rosh HaShana: If we had a reset button, what would pressing it look like? Should we be afraid of judgment and how does it apply to us? What does judgment have to do with reconciliation and peacemaking?
Tisha B'Av: How do we deal with disappointments along the way? What causes our failures that will inevitably come and what is the message of hope that is contained in the failures? God's mercies emerge in the midst of loss and sorrow.
Shavuot: Our personal growth is essential but insufficient and in the end it is not about us anyways. Without God we can not accomplish anything. in order to give of His love to others we must first receive, otherwise we have nothing to give. We also need encouragement as we trudge on. Fortunately God knows; he is always ready to help.
Passover: The first in the series of the biblical feasts, a festival of spring, it has the motifs of new creation and life purpose. Like the seed that contains the entire plant, the passover is the microcosm of all that follows, setting a direction for an accomplished life.
Ever wondered if there is a common theme to biblical festivals? If there is, then what would it be and how does it impact me today? Since the Bible is one, all in it is interconnected for one single purpose: to make us into what we are intended to be, a people after God's own heart, those who overcome all adversities and are victorious in the end. See how the holidays paint a unifying picture of human existence that is as relevant today as it was 3,500 years ago.
