What is your attitude when you fast? Do you humble or afflict yourself on Yom Kippur? Join Rabbi Kevin Solomon of Congregation Beth Hallel as he challenges us to experience Yom Kippur deeply, and that in our affliction on this day, we have an internalized attitude of humble repentance. Episode Notes The Day of Atonement has arrived. Yet within Christianity, it largely arrived unnoticed. Jesus gave prophetic details regarding the Last Day to come in the parable of the Sheep & Goats. He said it will be a day of separation: Both groups called Him Lord, yet only one group was accepted. The Day of Atonement is the most solemn and prophetic day on God's calendar. It's not just about fasting — it's about returning to God with a soft heart that reflects His mercy. Today in History: Moses returned with new stone tablets on this day (according to tradition, see Exodus 34:28–29). Yeshua discussed the driving out of demons, blasphemy, and the sign of Jonah (possible date, see Matthew 12:22). Today in History: What verse spoke to you most today and why? Did you learn something you need to do in your life? Today in History: Under King Solomon, Israel began a 14-day dedication ceremony for the First Temple (see 1 Kings 8). If Messiah was born on Rosh HaShanah, this was the day of Yeshua's “brit mila,” his circumcision ceremony (possible date, see Luke 2:21). Shabbat Shuvah (Sabbath of Return) falls during the days of awe and repentance, between Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur. The name “Shabbat Shuvah” comes from the Haftarah in Hosea 14, “Return [shuvah], O Israel, to the LORD your God.” Shuvah means “return” or “repent.”This week's portion is called Ha'azinu (Listen)TORAH PORTION: Deuteronomy 32:13–18GOSPEL PORTION: Acts 25:1–12What verse spoke to you most today and why?Did you learn something you need to do in your life?Daily Bread for Kids is a daily Bible reading podcast where we read through the Torah and the Gospels in one year! A Host of Troubles Then the LORD sent Nathan to David. And he came to him and said, “There were two men in one city, the one rich and the other poor. The rich man had a great many flocks and herds. But the poor man had nothing except one little ewe lamb which he bought and nourished; and it grew up together with him and his children. It would eat of his bread and drink of his cup and lie in his bosom, and was like a daughter to him. Now a traveler came to the rich man, and he was unwilling to take from his own flock or his own herd to prepare for the wayfarer who had come to him; rather he took the poor man's ewe lamb and prepared it for the man who had come to him.” Then David's anger burned greatly against the man, and he said to Nathan, “As the LORD lives, surely the man who has done this deserves to die. He must make restitution for the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing and had no compassion.” Nathan then said to David, “You are the man! The rich man was quite a host! The hospitality he offered his guest was not real hospitality at all. He faked his compassion for the weary traveler. He was so stingy that he killed another man's beloved pet and passed it off as his own sacrificial gift for the guest's benefit. This would be a prime place for a political commentary on the current state of affairs in the United States' political situation, but the reader is intelligent enough to understand that facet of the parable. Fake hospitality deceives people into thinking the host really cares and has compassion. What the wicked host offers is nothing more than someone else's hard work and property. To review from last week's text in this heavenly hospitality series, a righteous guest seeks a righteous home for hospitality, and he/she has the authority to bless that home with peace: “Do not acquire gold, or silver, or copper for your money belts, or a bag for your journey, or even two coats, or sandals, or a staff; for the worker is worthy of his support. And whatever city or village you enter, inquire who is worthy in it, and stay at his house until you leave that city. As you enter the house, give it your greeting. If the house is worthy, give it your blessing of peace. But if it is not worthy, take back your blessing of peace. Whoever does not receive you, nor heed your words, as you go out of that house or that city, shake the dust off your feet. Truly I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.” (Mt 10:9-15) Yeshua sent out his disciples as his messengers. They were to practice what they'd seen Yeshua do: teach, preach, immerse, comfort, exhort, rebuke, heal, and so on. "Let love of the brethren continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it." (He 13:1-2) These are not random strangers who visit, but "brothers" in the faith. No doubt the rich man had some level of acquaintance with the poor man he robbed. He knew where and when to steal the poor man's lamb, perhaps while the poor man was working or gone to the market. A lamb who was raised like his own daughter would not have been left unguarded very often. The rich man's act was premeditated, cunning, a masquerade of righteousness over a filthy act of cruel robbery. Strangely, Scripture links two concepts in the same neighborhood, called smikhut (placement). Those two concepts are lack of hospitality and fornication/adultery. In David's case, he was the adulterer “rich man” who slaughtered the poor man's lamb to prepare for the guest. This was also in the neighborhood of hospitality to strangers and "angels" in Hebrews Thirteen. Just skip one verse down: “Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge.” (He 13:4) A wicked person may seem to offer hospitality,

Send us a textGrace and peace to y'allToday we discuss the beauty and the danger of traditions. Jesus came to fulfill the law and enter into relationships with us . Unfortunately throughout church history we have seen religion and religious traditions destroy the faith of followers of Jesus and rather put a focus on themselves. Traditions in and of themselves to celebrate your personal relationship with Jesus is wonderful, but to Lord it over those who don't and to call it proper faith is wrong. Good news and bad news is that Yeshua judges the heart….which is where all evil stems from.Jesus continues on The Way in Mark 7. “Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool. If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be eaten by the sword; for the mouth of the LORD has spoken.” Isaiah 1:18–20 (ESV) If you want to know that "the LORD He is God! the LORD, He is God!" (1 Kings 18:39) your search for confirmation finds its best resolution in the book of Isaiah. I would argue that Isaiah, more even than Elisha, "wore the prophetic mantle" of Elijah. Only John the Baptist was a greater merely human incarnation of the role of prophet (Matthew 11:11). Isaiah 42:9 tells us: "Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I now declare; before they spring forth I tell you of them.” Below find two articles that discuss fulfilled Old Testament prophecies. By any objective measure, only God could do this. As with other books of the Bible, we suggest this brief overview of Isaiah. The Rapture. It's a pretty weird event. In the blink of an eye, millions – perhaps billions - of people just disappear. In the Christian religion, the Rapture is an event that is believed will take place during the end times and before the Second Coming of Yeshua when He returns to the Earth in judgement. But is the Rapture taught in the Bible? Along with the Rapture, many Christian denominations teach that there will be a 7-year Tribulation before Christ makes his Second Coming to Earth. And again we ask, does the Bible teach such things? The Rapture? The Tribulation? It can all be very confusing. Main theme: Crazy For Thrills by Muse Music with Groove Studios

Welcome to Shabbat Lounge! In this video, we share reflections on the Feast of Trumpets and explore the deep spiritual meaning behind the shofar. Whether part of the Torah community, interested in Biblical Fall Feasts, or longing to learn more about Yeshua's return, join us for this timely teaching. As the new season starts, our community gathers even under cloudy skies—no visible moon, just the fellowship, a beautiful sunset, and the powerful sound of the shofar. We celebrate the Creator, our faith, and our journey together. Explore with us how making a shofar mirrors spiritual growth: just as the shofar is set apart, shaped, emptied, and filled with breath, so we are called to be set apart, transformed, and filled with the Ruach. Every step in making a shofar is a reminder of our own spiritual preparation. We dive into Zechariah 14, unveiling key prophecies: the coming day of Yahweh, the dramatic splitting of the Mount of Olives, living water flowing from Jerusalem, and the worldwide gathering during the Festival of Booths. These passages connect the story of Jericho, redemption, Yeshua's return, and hope for Jerusalem. Through everyday experience, scriptural insight, and prayer for Jerusalem and our families, Shabbat Lounge encourages every viewer to prepare for Messiah's return, keep watch, nurture faith community, and live as a set-apart people. Using the Book of Judges chapters 1 and 2 as a launching pad, we need to ask ourselves if as followers of Yeshua we have made compromises and accommodations. Have we become too much like the evil world around us. Rather than being obedient to the Lord, are we actually backsliding? During this season of Repentance let us examine ourselves to see if we are in the faith. This short message was given by Allan Nemer during our Saturday Shabbat service on September 27, 2025
The Teacher and the Preacher is a weekly radio program--hosted by Dave McGarrah, Senior Pastor at Deer Flat Church in Caldwell, Idaho, and Aaron Lipkin from Israel--that airs each Sunday at 10:30 am and 7:30 pm here 94.5 FM and 790 AM on KSPD Boise's Solid Talk. They are a unique phenomenon on the airwaves – a Christian and a Jew in an ongoing dialogue – celebrating the many commonalities but never shying away from the differences. They offer their listeners insights into each other's faiths that don't come up much elsewhere, that can only come through sincere conversation. Messianic Apologetics editor John McKee reviews Colossians 2:16-17. We are in the middle of the Fall High Holidays, meaning that some well meaning person, sooner or later, is likely to tell a Messianic Believer not to “judge them,” as a result of observing the Leviticus 23 appointed times. What was the original context of Colossians 2:16-17, especially in light of the false teaching and false philosophy, in Colossae, which degraded the completed work of Yeshua? This is then followed by a review of important stories and issues from the past day or so, largely witnessed on social media.
Rosh Hashanah, “The Head of the Year,” is the fifth of the seven holy observances mentioned in Leviticus 23. This name is never used in the Scriptures to refer to this feast, despite the fact that it is the most common name used today. This name is used because the Rabbis believed it was on this day that the creation took place. Thus, it has become known as the beginning of the Jewish civil calendar year.In the Bible, Rosh Hashanah is called “Yom Teruah,” (“A Day of Blowing”), referring to the blowing of the “shofar” or ram's horn (Numbers 29:1). It is also called “Zicharon Teruah,” (“a memorial of blowing,” or “a remembrance of blowing”) (Leviticus 23:24). Rosh Hashanah occurs on the 1st of Tishrei (the seventh month in the Hebrew calendar), whereas Yom Kippur (the next major festival) is observed on the 10th day of Tishrei. The ten days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are called “Yomim Naraiim” or “Days of Awe.” It is during these ten days that Jewish people are to perform deeds of repentance and restoration in order to be assured that their sins are forgiven on Yom Kippur. Most notably, Rosh Hashanah is known for the blowing of the ram's horn. According to the Rabbis, the sounding of the ram's horn symbolized the final regathering of the Jewish people when Messiah comes, and the dead are resurrected. In Isaiah 27:13 we read:“And in that day a great trumpet (shofar) will sound. Those who were perishing in Assyria and those who were exiled in Egypt will come and worship the Lord on the holy mountain in Jerusalem.”With this, the B'rit Hadashah (“New Testament”) agrees. Matthew 24:31 states,“And He will send His angels with a loud trumpet (shofar) call, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.”In this verse, Yeshua prophesied four things will happen at His second coming: First, angels will be sent out to regather the Jewish people; Second, this event will be accompanied with the blast of the shofar; Third, the focus is the regathering of the “elect” or “chosen,” by which is meant the Jewish people; Fourth, this regathering is from a worldwide dispersion.YouTube: https://youtube.com/live/JBIgpgVg5g4Send us a text

Over the last few months we have been focusing attention on the Spirit of God. We noted that in the Hebrew Scriptures, the Spirit of God is particularly seen in relation to creation, among Israel in the progression of her history, and with respect to Israel during the Messianic Kingdom. Then we turned our attention to what the New Testament Scriptures teach about the Spirit of God. First, we learned that the Spirit of God is a person. Second, we saw that, while there are angelic and human persons, the Spirit of God is a divine person. Then we looked at two ministries of the Spirit of God, the ministries of conviction, and of bearing witness of Messiah. In this message, we explore the Spirit of God's ministry of imparting life, eternal life. It is what is meant by being "born again" and "becoming a new creation" (John 3:3, 7; II Corinthians 5:17).This is also what is meant by regeneration (Titus 3:5). And the Spirit's ministry of regeneration comes to fruition by means of the word of God. Peter writes, "...since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God" (I Peter 1:23).James similarly states, "Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first-fruits of his creatures" (James 1:18). The word of truth is of course a reference to the sacred Scripture that imparts life.YouTube: https://youtube.com/live/vECx3B9nQmwSend us a text

Growing In God Podcast Program Number: GIG #269 Title: The Feast of Trumpets Web Description: The Feast of Trumpets was a holy convocation, a day of celebration and rest, when all of Israel came up to Jerusalem to meet with God in anticipation that He was going to do something. This is now called Rosh Hashanah, and it is celebrated as the Jewish New Year's Day. This appointed time has yet to be fulfilled in Christ, leaving the world to wonder what it will mean when the divine trumpet blows. Show Notes: What God is doing in most of the feasts is clear. For example, Passover commemorates the blood of the lamb on the doorposts in Egypt that saved the Hebrew people from the death angel. What God is doing in the Feast of Trumpets is less clear. It is a holy convocation. It is a Sabbath rest. It is a day when trumpets are blown. But why? The Feast of Trumpets is a day of celebration—the Hebrew word is zikkaron—which means a “memorial” as well as a “remembrance” or “reminder.” Each year this celebration memorializes God coming to earth on Mount Sinai where He announced His presence with the blast of a trumpet. We also remember God's promise that He will once again return to the earth with the sound of a trumpet. Today we look forward to that trumpet which has not yet sounded, but no one knows the day or the hour. So our response is to be prepared. The trumpet blast alerts us to the promise of Messiah's return. May this prophetic cry be always on our lips: “Come, Yeshua. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on this earth as it is in heaven.” Key Verses: • Leviticus 23:23–25. “You shall have a rest, a reminder by blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation.” • Leviticus 23:24. “A holy convocation … a reminder by blowing of trumpets.” • Numbers 29:1. “It will be a day to you for blowing trumpets.” • Exodus 19:19. “When the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him with thunder.” • 1 Thessalonians 4:16. “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God.” • Matthew 24:29-42. “And He will send forth His angels with a great trumpet.” • Revelation 22:20. “Yes, I come quickly!” Quotes: • “So when we look at most of the appointed times or the feasts, the fasts, the celebrations that God appointed, it's very clear what it is that Israel was celebrating. Not so with the Feast of Trumpets. • “That's what a trumpet blast is for: to get your attention.” • “Now to me those are two very distinct things, and I think in the Feast of Trumpets both are taking place. We are to have a memorial and a reminder. A memorial is a celebration of something that took place historically. You build a monument; you memorialize an event in history. A reminder to me is more of something you are looking forward to. I have to remind myself of my to-do list, something I am supposed to do. So both of these really take place during Trumpets.” Takeaways: 1. We anticipate the Feast of Trumpets because its fulfillment in Christ has not yet transpired. 2. The Feast of Trumpets is to get our attention and keep us alert. 3. Our response is to always be on the alert. Watch! 4. We should cry out, “Come, Lord Jesus!”

Idol or Angel? Scripture commands us not to make images of things in the earth or in the heavens to worship them. This means different things to different people, even within the Jewish community. It is one of those commandments that drives the reader to its multiple other mentions in Scripture to make full sense of it: “You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth." (Ex 20:4) Some may not possess any figured images, applying the mitzvah very strictly. Others may give their children dolls or have animal sculpture for decoration, applying additional context for the mitzvah, which is having an image for the purpose of worshiping it or acknowledging its power: You shall not make for yourselves idols, nor shall you set up for yourselves an image or a sacred pillar, nor shall you place a figured stone in your land to bow down to it; for I am the LORD your God. (Le 26:1) In this application, a person avoids images of known gods, demons, or symbols denoting such, but does not avoid having photographs, artwork, or objects in the shape of animals or heavenly bodies, etc. The Tabernacle and Temple were decorated with images of both heavenly and earthly objects according to a Divinely-prescribed pattern. The range of interpretations is not unusual, and it lends itself to investigation so that one can learn more about the mitzvah by tracking down every mention of images as idols. This week, we'll take a look at a song traditionally sung on Erev Shabbat to usher in the Divine Presence on Shabbat, for Shabbat is a moed, an appointed time when the Creator of the Universe promises to visit those who tend His Garden. Shir HaShirim (Song of Songs) 5:1 has been our working text for understanding the repopulation of the Garden when the Bride and Bridegroom join the Divine Presence at the wedding feast of resurrection: I have come into my garden, my sister, my bride; I have gathered my myrrh along with my balsam. I have eaten my honeycomb and my honey; I have drunk my wine and my milk. Eat, friends; drink and imbibe deeply, O lovers. This sumptuous wedding meal inaugurates the reign of Messiah Yeshua, for he will return to earth with his holy ones to rule and restore the earth to the purpose for which the Father created it. What we have learned the last few weeks is that earthly hospitality to the righteous brother or sister is the Torah's pattern of preparation for the restoration of all things. Following our lesson on Avraham and the angels last week, let's pick up this week with Yeshua's reiteration of hospitality. A righteous guest seeks a righteous home for hospitality, and he/she has the authority to bless that home with peace: “Do not acquire gold, or silver, or copper for your money belts, or a bag for your journey, or even two coats, or sandals, or a staff; for the worker is worthy of his support. The disciples were messengers, sometimes called shliachim in Hebrew for "sent ones." Another word for messenger in Hebrew is malak: ???????? m?l?âk; to despatch as a deputy; a messenger; specifically, of God, i.e. an angel (also a prophet, priest or teacher):—ambassador, angel, king, messenger
Understanding the Feast Days of the Lord and Their Prophetic Significance In this enlightening episode, discover that the Feast Days of the Lord are not just 'Jewish' feasts but are appointed festivals of the Lord, described in the Bible. Join us as we delve into the significance of these holy days, particularly focusing on the fall feasts, through interviews with Jewish friends living in Israel. Learn about the prophetic meanings behind the spring feasts, which were fulfilled during Yeshua's time on Earth, and explore the fall feasts' future prophetic implications for Yeshua's second coming. Our guests (Israeli Shofar Ambassador, Robert Weinger - Wendy Cohen- Carolyn Hyde and Arni Klein) share revelations about the Feast of Trumpets, Day of Atonement, and Feast of Tabernacles, highlighting their importance for both Jews and Christians. This episode provides a profound perspective on how these holy days are interwoven with our faith and prophetic future.
