Before I headed back to work from my maternity leave, I was looking all over for information about how to sanitize and disinfect breast pumps. There was one really dated YouTube video from a mom. I read the instruction manuals, but there really wasn't anything. So, once again, I dove deep into my food code and my professional resources to find out - how do I sanitize and disinfect. Sanitizing and disinfecting the baby’s bottle, pacifiers, and all of that baby gear... It can be overwhelming! If anything needs to be sanitized and disinfected, you know I’m all over it. Ok, let’s start with the definitions. Cleaning means to remove germs by using soap and water. Sanitizing and disinfecting are steps that follow cleaning to further kill more germs (like a double check method). Sanitizing means “to reduce microorganisms of public health importance to levels considered safe.” Disinfecting means “to destroy or irreversibly inactivate specified infectious fungi and bacteria, but not necessarily the spores, on hard surfaces.” Shout out to our Season Sponsor Alisha Raquel Photography. On this episode, I am going to read a question from a client. This mama does not want her child's picture to be posted online. She's worried that she may be perceived as rude or strange. Here’s the question I received: I don't want people to post pictures of my baby online. How can I tell people not to?
