Every year, Australia hosts 543.7-mile (875-kilometer) endurance racing from Sydney to Melbourne. It is considered among the world’s most grueling ultra-marathons. The race takes five days to complete and is normally only attempted by world-class athletes who train specially for the event. These athletes are typically less than 30 years old and backed by large companies such as Nike.In 1983, a man named Cliff Young showed up at the start of this race. Cliff was 61 years old and wore overalls and work boots. To everyone’s shock, Cliff wasn’t a spectator. He picked up his race number and joined the other runners.Support the show (https://elkhartlife.breezechms.com/give/online)
The day the church was born is called Pentecost, a Jewish feast day celebrating new life! What a great day for God to choose to give birth to the New Testament. He pours out the Spirit of Christ into the His followers, who began to speak in tongues, as the Spirit gives utterance. Then Peter preaches that is available to all that are afar off. He tells the assembled crowd to repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Peter preached that moments after he and all those in the upper room had received the spirit of Christ. Support the show (https://elkhartlife.breezechms.com/give/online)
The Spirit of Christ was poured out on those gathered in the upper room, causing concern and confusion in the onlookers who did not understand the nature of this new phenomenon. Peter rose up with the other disciples and began explaining to the crowd this was a fulfilment of a prophecy given to Joel. It was the first sermon for the newly formed church that was born on the day of Pentecost. Previous to this day, they lived under the law, but from today forward they could live under the grace of God. We still live in this day today!Support the show (https://elkhartlife.breezechms.com/give/online)

Peter lead the disciples in trying to replace Judas with Matthias, who was never heard from again. It seems God choose Paul to be the 12th Apostle, and he became a very effective apologist for the Christ-followers. Support the show (https://elkhartlife.breezechms.com/give/online)
